A/N: When I first started writing this story I knew I had to get this song in because the line 'green eyes and freckles and your smile' pretty much sums up Edward!

Also, some people asked how Bella hadn't met Emmett before: Even though Forks is small, Bella hasn't been introduced to everyone so as not to overwhelm her. I hope that helps clear things up :)

Enjoy!

Bella:

And all I've seen since 18 hours ago

Is green eyes and freckles and your smile

In the back of my mind making me feel right

"Aren't you the cutest? I could just steal you right now," I grin, rubbing my nose against Dexter's. He grins up at me and grabs some of my hair, holding me close to him.

"He seems to like you," Rose comments, grinning. She grins a lot now.

"Yep. And I met someone who seems to like you," I reply, blowing a raspberry on his cheek.

"What?" Rose asks, frowning.

I kiss the top of Dexter's head, where some blonde hair has started to grow. He has the beautiful new baby smell. I was completely serious when I said I could just steal him away from Rose.

"Bella!" Rose calls out.

"Shit, sorry," I curse. "Oh, damn. I shouldn't have sworn, should I?" I say next, pretending to cover up Dexter's ears. "Sorry, buddy," I grin, blowing another raspberry on his cheek and pulling funny faces to make him laugh. So cute.

"Can I hold him for a minute?" Rose requests. Reluctantly, I hand him over to her. "There. Now, hopefully, you can focus," Rose chuckles. "Who did you meet?" Rose asks me slowly.

I pout over at Dexter. "I met Emmett." I go back to making silly faces at Dexter.

"You did? What did you say to him? Did you tell him I'd gained weight?" Rose frets, biting her nails and rocking Dexter awkwardly in her arms. She's acting weird.

"Are you nervous?" I ask, barely supressing my grin. I've never seen Rose nervous before. This is new.

"Shut up," she glares at me, but she's still nervous.

"You like him, don't you?" I ask, grinning fully now. "Awww, how sweet is this?" I add, teasing her.

"I have a kid," Rose replies, staring down at her baby.

"Which is exactly what he asked about. And I showed him pictures and he said Dexter was the cutest kid he'd ever seen," I inform her.

Her eyes, watery with tears, look up at me in disbelief. I shuffle closer to her on the bed and wrap my arm around her shoulders. Once again, Dexter grabs a handful off my hair.

"Emmett seems sweet. Though he did call me blind," I tell her. I reach down and tickle Dexter, making him forget all about tugging on my hair. "Now I see why you have your hair up most of the time," I add, moving my hair behind my back and away from Dexter.

"Well, you are blind. Have you not seen the way Edward looks at you?" Rose asks, hastily brushing away tears.

"Come on. That's different. Anyway, we're getting off topic. This is about you and Emmett. Now, you both like each other, so you need to tell him," I tell her.

"How is it different? You and Edward both like each other?" Rose questions, looking at me pointedly. Ah, there's the Rose I know.

"Completely different," I shrug it off. "Now, you need to text Emmett," I tell her standing up. "And I need to pee," I add, rubbing my stomach.

"Talk to Edward," Rose calls out.

"Can I pee first?" I ask, grinning.

"Stop being a smart ass," she replies, huffing.

I chuckle as I walk over to our joint bathroom. Once inside, I look at the bump on my stomach. People at school haven't noticed it yet, mostly because of all the jumpers and layers I wear in an attempt to keep warm. It's not even December yet but Forks is already reaching temperatures below freezing. It was cold in Seattle, but never this cold.

My baby decides we need food, so I go into the kitchen and see what there is. In the kitchen, I see Seth frowning at the oven, with various ingredients laid out on the side.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

He jumps, having not seen me, and quickly turns around. "Uh, nothing." His eyes shift nervously around the kitchen, as if he's scared someone else is about to jump out and surprise him.

"Are you making something?" I ask him, glancing over at the ingredients. There's flour, sugar, butter and jam, so I'm assuming he's attempting to make jam tarts or something.

"Um, I'm trying to make some jam tarts. We don't have any and my mum used to make the best jam tarts," he admits, looking sheepish.

"I could help. If you want?" I offer, taking a couple of steps closer.

"Sure. Thanks," he grins. "So, what the hell do I do?" he asks.

I can't help but laugh.

We start by making the pastry and I get Seth to do all the rolling and the hard parts. I mostly just sit back and tell him what to do. Whilst we're making the pastry we chat about school and other stuff. Seth seems really easy going and happy, making joke after joke.

When Seth starts putting the jam into the pastry, I have to stop him.

"That's way too much jam. You don't need too much, otherwise it'll spill over the sides," I warn him, scooping some out.

"Right," he mumbles, carefully measuring out the jam.

I hop up and sit on the counter as he finishes them off, and then instruct him to put them on the middle shelf in the oven. Once they're cooking, he starts attempting to clean up.

"So, how come you wanted to make jam tarts?" I ask.

"I know it sounds silly, but they remind me of my mum," he mutters.

"That's not silly," I tell him, wondering what happened to his mum. And his dad.

"It's just, today it's six years since the day…since the day they passed away. Mum and Dad," Seth tells me.

I jump down off the counter and give him a big hug. Even though he's three years younger than me, he's almost taller than me.

"Sorry," he says as we break apart.

"Don't be sorry. I'm sorry for you, though," I tell him.

"I miss them, but Esme and Carlisle have been great. Our families were friends before it happened, and they've always been there for Jacob and me," Seth explains.

"They are great people," I agree with him, nodding.

"Yeah. We were the first kids we took in. After us, Esme got the idea to start this place. Bree was the next to arrive, then Angela, then Rosalie, and then you," Seth tells me.

"And then Dexter," I add, grinning.

"Yep. And next will be your kid," Seth says. "Please don't have a screamer," he adds.

"Sadly, I can't control that," I reply. "Right, the pregnant lady needs to go sit down, now. Call me if anything goes wrong," I joke.

"So I'll be calling you about once a minute, then?" he jokes back.

As I'm walking back up to my bedroom, I remember what Rose and Emmett said. Both of them have said that Edward likes me, but…I'm still doubtful. Edward's my friend, but does he like me more than that?

I stop when I'm on the second floor, the floor that Edward's bedroom is on. Just as I'm about to walk over to his bedroom, I hear arguing voices.

"Come on, Jake, you promised!" Edward says, sounding pretty annoyed.

"What can I say, I got a better offer!" Jacob replies.

"You mean Angela," Edward guesses.

"No comment. See you around!" Jacob quickly leaves Edward's room, trying to make a quick escape but pausing when he sees me.

"What was that about?" I ask him, frowning.

"I was meant to go to the cinema with Edward to see Thor," Jacob shrugs, before running off.

I consider what he says all while trying to regain the confidence to talk to Edward. Once again, just as I'm about to take a step forward Edward storms out of his bedroom, freezing when he sees me.

"Hey," I say, and then mentally hit myself. Why do I always lose the ability to speak when Edward's around?

"Hey," he replies, running his hand through his hair. "Sorry about that," he adds, gesturing over to his room.

"No worries," I tell him. Come on, Bella, just ask him! Right. I can do this. I can ask him. "Um, if you still wanted to go see Thor, I, uh, wouldn't mind going with you," I offer, speaking quickly so that I can't back out of it.

"For Chris Hemsworth?" Edward asks.

"What?" I frown, confused.

"You, uh, said you'd seen the first film. Because of him. I just, um, wondered if that was the case again," Edward mumbles, shuffling his feet and looking anywhere but me.

"That's not the only reason," I mutter quietly, suddenly finding the floor incredibly interesting.

For a few minutes we're both silent, and I wonder if maybe Edward doesn't want to go with me and he's trying to think of an easy way to let me down.

"Oh, for god's sake! Just go to the damn cinema with each other! God, listening to you two attempt to ask each other out is just painful!" Alice cries, her door banging against the wall from the force she used to open it.

Edward blushes and I glance over at Alice, who's rolling her eyes and huffing a lot.

"I think there's a showing on tonight that we might make?" Edward suggests.

"Ok," I nod, relaxing.

"It's at-"

"BELLA! I NEED SOME HELP!" Seth shouts just as the fire alarm goes off.
