Damon's Love and Elena's Daughter: Chapter Nine
"How do you know that?" Eric asked, he was completely confused as to what his sister was talking about.
Damon stood shakily to his feet, watching Charlotte with an unsure expression of where this was going. Charlotte turned to the door, she walked away from her mum and everyone else. Stepping past Stefan, Charlotte was out of the room heading away from everyone, Damon ran after her not wanting to be left alone in the room with everyone. Exiting the hospital, Charlotte breathed in the fresh air, before she turned to Damon. An expression of anger crossed her face as she stared at Damon.
"I hate this," Charlotte shouted at Damon, turning away from Damon and then turning back towards him again.
Damon held out his arms for Charlotte, waiting for her to enter his gasp.
"I hate lying to everyone like this," Charlotte told Damon, stepping into his arms and hugging him tightly.
"Then don't," Damon whispered, holding her tightly and not wanting to let her go.
Elena's Hospital Room
"Damon, has been in the town for a few months, what does that even mean. Why does my daughter that?" Elena asked, tears in her eyes as she worried about her daughter.
"Elena, everything will be okay, just calm down," Bonnie told her best friend.
"Damon, knows my daughter. He knows Charlotte," Elena whispered, tears running down his face as she looked at Stefan.
"I will go get Charlotte, everyone else stay here. I will be back in a few minutes," Stefan told mainly Elena and Bonnie.
Stefan was straight out the room, listening carefully for Damon or Charlotte, hearing then outside. Stefan headed directly towards them, he had only just found out that Charlotte was Damon's hunting partner he cared so much about. Seeing Charlotte hugging Damon at the entrance of the door, stepping out the door Stefan was quick to say his brother's name.
"Damon," Stefan growled.
Damon glanced at his brother, he refused to loosen his grip on Charlotte. The look that crossed Damon's face was one Stefan hadn't seen in such a long time; Stefan knew at that moment that he really, really cared for Charlotte and would do anything to stop her from getting hurt.
"Damon...Damon..." Stefan whispered, Damon kept his eyes on his brother not able to take his eyes from Stefan.
"Charlotte, can't be around us. It's too dangerous, Elena wouldn't be able to forgive you if something happened to her," Stefan told Damon, shaking his head Damon kept Charlotte head against his shoulder covering her eyes.
"I'm not leaving her, there is no way I'm going to leave her," Damon told Stefan.
Stefan lowered his eyes to the floor, both Damon and Stefan knew that now that Damon's and Charlotte's relationship was out in the open, she wasn't going to be safe ever again as long as Damon was around. Charlotte listened to Stefan and Damon, staying as close as she possibly could to him. From the tree line, Klaus watched as Charlotte tightly hugged Damon, while he spoke with his brother.
"Why does Damon want to protect her so greatly?" Klaus asked himself, both Stefan and Damon looked in his direction hearing him speak.
Klaus moved with his super speed, jumping up on to hospital front above Stefan, Damon and Charlotte. Both the brothers looked up at the hospital roof, seeing Klaus staring down at them. Jumping down in front of the two brothers, Stefan moved closer to his brother, ready to protect Charlotte if they needed. Tilting his head to the side, Klaus stared at the two brothers with a smile across his face.
"Hand her over," Klaus ordered, Charlotte pulled herself away from Damon to look at Klaus.
"It's a good thing you are on vervain, Charlotte. Otherwise I would already have you," Klaus told Charlotte.
"You will never have her," Damon told Klaus, a twitch of his head and Damon was pulled away from Charlotte and Stefan.
Klaus had his arm wrapped around Damon's neck, ready to snap or rip his head off as he wished. Stefan grabbed Charlotte, to stop her from moving forwards and attacking Klaus, Damon struggled against Klaus trying to break free of his hold. Charlotte's eyes scanned the area for something she could use as a stake, finding nothing Charlotte whistled as loud as she possibly could. Looking up towards the sky, Charlotte let out a short high pitched howl from her lips. Klaus moved away from the noise. Damon pulled away from Klaus, ending up on his back held down by Klaus's foot. The sound of baking, howling and yelling echoed from around them, Charlotte smiled gently and looked back to see. Her father's pack, the wolfs from the nearby forest but also all the dogs nearby; Klaus stood completely surprised about what was happening.
"I have never seen that done before," Klaus told Charlotte.
"I'm not just a normal wolf girl," Charlotte replied, stepping back to be surrounded by everyone human and animal alike who heard her call.
