Taichi opened the door and hopped right in. He laid back and took a deep breath. He then strapped his seat belt in. He sank deep into his seat. Sitting before him were his two loyal friends Kei and Yuko.
"Hey boss!" Yuko and Kei both yelled out. Kei turned back to face Taichi while Yuko continued to drive.
"What brings you out here so late?" Kei asked with a huge smile.
"Actually its pretty cool we caught you. We are on our way to Sarah's. She's having a party at her place tonight. You should come?!" Yuko asked with excitement.
"YEAH BOSS!" Kei added while tightening his fist in he air. "But you have to wear this!" He said as he tossed back a red fuzzy sweater. Taichi grabbed it to take a better look.
He gasped at the hideous sight before him. It was a Christmas sweater with huge Santa right in the middle. He was surrounded by decorated Christmas trees and glitter. The sweater had bright colors, clear bulbs and unnecessary buttons. Taichi began to sweat at th back his head. He looked up and notice both Yuko and Kie had Christmas sweaters too.
"Oh gawd these are so ugly!" Taichi thought.
"Do I really have to wear this?!" Taichi grunted.
"Yes boss! Where's your sence of adventure?! Where's the passion of youth within you?!" Kei exclaimed as he held both his fists in the air. He was burning with passion and motivation from his own words. Taichi grew more sweat behind his head. His eye twitched at the very sight of Kei.
"All right all right I get it!" Taichi muffled as he put the sweater on.
They continued on their party house. Which wasn't that far from where they picked up Taichi. They continued to laugh and where in disgust with each other's sweaters.
"Who's idea was this?" Taichi asked.
"Sarah was alaways a weird one. She was excited Ugly Christmas sweater party! She yelled out. And always had the hots for Kei." Yuko added.
"Dude she's my childhood friend. I've known her forever." Kei shouted.
"Wow no need to get butt hurt about it sheeesshh." Yuko said.
They headed for the party. They could hear laughter and music playing from outside. The house covered in Christmas lights that were so bright Taichi's eyes twitched as he got closer. '
"This is all stupid. I really should just go home. " Taichi thought as he walked on.
The music was getting louder and he could hear people's conversations more clearly. Taichi grew a pit in his stomach as he got to the font door. Kei rang the door bell. They waited a few minutes when a small brunette opened the door.
"You guys made it!" The girl shouted! She leaped up tp hug Kei. She clang tight to him like a spider monkey. She was rosy at the cheeks due to some alcoholic drinking. She let them into her house. There was many of their classmates drinking, laughing, and getting a bit friendly due to the alcohol. There was a small Christmas tree in the corner of the living room. They all walked into dim lighting and bright red, green and yellow lights flashing leading their way in.
Taichi and Yuko were standing by the Christmas tree. There was loud yelling and slurring of words. Yuko had a few girls hovering over him. Asking him for his number and if he had a girlfriend. Taichi grunted at it all.
"I'm such a third wheel. I want to go home." He thought as she looked over to his left. "How can Yuko and Kei get girls? They are the world's biggest idiots."
The sound of the girls giggling made Taichi even more annoyed. He took a big breath and exhaled. A feminine hand reached out to him and was holding a cup full on red punch. Taichi looked up to see it was Sora. He stood up straight and felt his heart skip a beat. There she stood smiling in front of him. She wore black red flats, black tights, a black mini skirt and a Christmas sweater even more hideous than his. Taichi took the cup from her. She jumped to his right said and held her drink alongside his.
*meanwhile*
Mimi's heart raced as she rushed over to Taichi's house. She called Kari and asked if he was there. Matt tried keeping up. She was a head of him. It began to snow. The winter flakes began fall and the air around them became thicker.
"Mimi wait up!" Matt exclaimed as he tried to catch his breath. She continued on until they family got to his home.
"Wow that was a work out!" He said as he finally caught up to her. She stood still staring straight up to his room window. She was covered in snow flakes. Her nose and cheeks were red from running. Matt blushed as he looked at her. He couldn't feel but feel embarrassed for what happened.
"Meems about earlier. I'm sorry." he said. She looked over at him. Her eyes watery. She fought her tears back. Her eyes already puffy and red from crying on the way there.
"She said he's at Sarah's party." She responded. She gave out a nervous chuckle. "I can't do this anymore. Everything keeps happening and I'm starting to think that its not meant to be. It shouldn't be this hard." She said as she began to rub the small tears from her eyes. Matt went towards her and held her tight.
"Don't give up! You never gave up before! Don't start now!" He held her tighter. She felt the warmth from his body held up against hers. She missed Taichi's embrace and his touch. She couldn't hold back and let it all out. Matt ran his hands through her hair as she cried. They stood together in the snow fall.
"Funny to meet you here. You look so unhappy." She said. Taichi stared at his drink.
"Don't worry I didnt spike it." She laughed. "I'm not that kind of women you know."
Yuko ended his conversation with the girls in front of him. He turned over to Taichi.
"Hey Tai. Let's get Kei and be get a game going?" Yuko asked while giving him a thumbs up.
"It's ok I'll catch up with you guys later." He responded. Yuko was surprised. He looked at Sora. Yuko nodded and went on his way.
Taichi had a blank expression. He was numb to the party and to Sora. She held her cup to her side and looked down at her feet.
"So how are you and Mimi?" She asked. Taichi didn't respond. He took a drink from his up.
"I guess I shouldn't be asking that question..." Finished.
"The Christmas tree lighting...tomorrow. Are you going with anymore?" She finally asked.
He stopped drinking from his coup and looked over to Sora. He lowered his cup to his side and turned to Sora. She looked up to him. He leaned in to stare at her straight in the eyes.
"Why are you s fixed on me? After everything and being with Matt. Why are you still looking for me?" He asked. She jumped at his statement and at his words. She was nervous in answering him. From a far it looked as if they were having an intimate moment. Passing through the hall way a familiar face caught a glimpse of this moment. As Sora was going to respond a Taichi felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned back to see James.
"Hey Taichi mind if we get a chance to talk about side?" James said as he looked straight into Taichi's eyes. Taichi laughed.
"Hmph. No I'm fine where I am." He said as he placed his hands in his pockets. He turned over to Sora.
"Meet me at the park by your house at 7 for the lighting." He said. He then turned around and head out the door. "Bye Sora." He left and headed home. James didn't know whether to go after him and beat him down or call Mimi right away. Sora was left standing along with a smile on her face. She couldn't believe what just happened. She was so happy. She felt as she had won. She took out her phone and then proceeded to walk towards James. "Don't even bother. Mimi can't up me." She said as she passed him by.
Taichi walked along confused and frustrated. "Wow there was no point in that. He's just gong to tell Mimi. I don't want her to cry." He said out loud. "At Least I'm almost home." He continued. He finally made it home. Kari was sitting in the living room. She was sleeping while sitting up. Taichi walked over and woke her up. "Come on Kari. Lets go to bed." He said as he helped her up. Kari slowly opened her eyes realized her brother finally made it home. "Tai you should really talk to Mimi." She said as she rubbed her eyes. Taichi gasped at his sisters comment. "She just left. Papa took her home. She waited outside for you this whole time. She probably caught a cold." She added as they both left their living room. Taichi felt uneasy. "It' late Kari. Good night." He said as he closed her room door.
He entered his room. "Well I'm back where I started. In this shit hole of a situation." He said as he threw him self down on his bed. He sighed. "Fuck dude she was here all night?! Knowing her she couldn't sit still and waited outside. Why? Why did she do that? She probably just wanted to come clean." He thought as he turned on to his belly. "Whatever I'm done with all this." He thought as she finally drifted off to sleep.
