Taichi grunted as he rolled around in his bed. Kari sat across from him. She twirled around on his computer chair.

"Kari will you stop spinning. You're making me dizzy." Taichi exclaimed.

"Wow someone sure is grumpy!" She snapped back. "Don't be mean I'm here aren't I?"

"Yeah yeah. So I don't know what to do anymore. I told Sora I'd pick her up tonight." He said as he sat up.

"I really don't know why you did that. You are just gonna make Mimi feel worst." She said as she continued to spin.

"It just...sucked so bad seeing them." He said as he lowered his eyes. "I don't know. I just did it to piss that pretty boy James. I know he likes Mimi! He has too. He's always clinging around her, making sure no other guys get to talk to her."

"I think you're just being jealous because he can be her. I don't think Mimi would do something like that. I mean she's the holder of the crest of sincerity. She wouldn't ever hurt any one. Shes so pure." Kari said as she stopped the spinning chair. "Mimi isn't the type of girl who does that sort of thing. She's always honest and caring." She finished.

Taichi paused as he took over to his sister and focused on what she had said.

"I mean come on Taichi. You've known her for the longest time! I don't think Matt would do something to hurt you either. After all he is your best friend." She said as she stood up from the chair. She walked towards him and sat right next to him.

"Ouch! What was that for?!" Taichi said after Kari smacked the back of his head.

"That's for telling Sora you'd take her! I really think you should have end it all with her. She's changed so much over this year. She doesn't seem like the right fit for you or the same person." Kari added.

"You didn't have to hit me that hard." Taichi said as he rubbed his head. "I honestly don't know what to do from here on out. I mean I didn't think dating would be so complicated." He added.

"So you and Mimi were dating?" Kari asked as she tilted her head.

Taichi jumped at the question and blushed violently.

"Well yeah. Isn't that what it's called?" He asked.

"Well you over reacted big time. I mean its MIMI! She wouldn't hurt a fly." Kari said as she smiled. " It's all a misunderstanding from what I can see. And you should have really gave them a chance to explain. It's like you want an excuse to ruin everything for yourself." She stated.

"Why would anybody do something that stupid to themselves Kari?!" Taichi exclaimed as he gently pushed her away.

"I don't know. People who are afraid. You are the holder of courage Taichi. But I've never seen you so scared like this before. It seems like you're trying so hard not to be happy. Are you that scared where you rather be alone? " She continued.

Kari stood up as she finished her sentence. Taichi's eyes widen as he tried to grasp what she just said. She made her way to his bedroom door.

"Taichi just stop beating around the bush and decided what you want. Otherwise you're just gonna be scared for the rest of your life." She said with a smile as she exited out the door. " Oh and I really hope you make the right choice. I'm tired of seeing you so scruffy and stinky." She said as she laughed.

"Is that really what I'm doing?" He thought as he looked over at his clock. It read 5:55 pm. "The lighting is in an hour..." He thought to himself. He stood up and made his way towards his wall mirror. He stared hard into the mirror. He sighed as he looked away from his reflection. He looked over towards his desk where he saw a picture of him and Sora at the theme park. He smiled.

"That day was so much fun. It was just the two of us. I was so happy." He thought as he stared at the picture. Next to the picture was a small key chain Mimi and Taichi had won during the summer music festival. "She was so cute that night." His smile turned into a frown when he remember his current situation. "She's all I've ever wanted...And now.." His thought was cut off as his phone rang. Startled he lost his balance.

He leaned against his dresser.

"Wheres that stupid phone?!" He said as he searched his room like a mad man. His shoes, pillows and bed sheets where all in the up in the air as he scrambled for his phone.

He finally found it and answered it without looking at his caller

ID.

"Hello?!" He answered quickly as he leaned on to his computer desk.

"Oh Taichi its Sora. Just wanted to see what time you were coming over." Sora said in a cheerful tone.

Taichi paused. Not knowing what to say, he stood still.

"Taichi?...Hello?" She asked.

"Uhhh, yeah I'm here." He respond as he let himself fall on his computer chair.

"So what time? I'm so happy we are going. You know what they are saving about tonight festival? That couples who kiss the same time as the lights turn on happened the couple is meant to stay forever. couple together forever." Sora ranted on about sharing a kiss.

Taichi wasn't listening as his heart beat fast. "I can't do this over the phone. I have to do this tonight." He thought.

"So what do you think Taichi?..." She waited for a response.

"TAICHI?!" She exclaimed. He snapped out of his thought and focused on the conversation.

"Oh yeah, sorry. Let's just meet there ok?" He said.

"Meet there? That's no fun. Why can't we go together? I mean we are going together." She asked.

"Sora." He said as he interrupted her rant. "I'll see you there. Don't worry about it." He finished as he hung up. He threw his head back and let his phone fall to the ground as he hung up. He took a deep breath and exhaled with a displeasure face. "Well might as well get ready." He thought.

Meanwhile...

Mimi sank in her bathtub. Her eyes puffy and red from crying. She was covered in bubbles from her soap. Her skin was pink due to the hot water and the hour she had soaked. James waited outside her bathroom door. He leaned his back against the door. He let the back of his head hit the door. Thump. Thump.

"How long do you plan to be in there?" He asked as he crossed his arms. "Listen your going to get wrinkly in there." He added.

There was nothing but rustling water as Mimi went under water. James could hear the small splashes through the door.

"Oh great she went under water." James thought. He sighed and turned around and roughly knocked on the door. Mimi's heart skipped a beat, as she could hear the knocks. She gasped out for air as she came up from under eyes were blood-shot from her crying. The hot water caused stinging under her eyes. He continued to knock on the door.

"Mimi let's go! You don't have much time! You need to get ready!" He said. He was going to hit it once again. As he went for other knock, the door flew right open. He stopped right in time to have his fist inches away from Mimi's face. James gasped as he stopped his motion. He whole body tensed up!

"MIMI?!" James exclaimed. "What's wrong with you!? I almost gave you a black eye?!" He continued. She stood there only in her towel. Her face emotionless. James took a few steps back and threw his arm behind his head to relax. He sighed.

"Meems go on and get dressed. I'll wait outside." He added as he walked towards her room. She followed after. He stood outside her door as she finished getting dressed. She just had a plain t-shirt and jeans. She let him in. She sat down on her bed, while JAmes sat on the floor with his back against her side mattress.

It was quiet. Neither of them spoke.

"This is so awkward..." He thought. He pouted. He flipped opened his phone and stared at his screen. "The lighting starts in 30 minutes." He turned over towards Mimi. She was laying down. She stared at her ceiling. James grew angry. He stood right up. Mimi jumped at his sudden movement. He took her by the hand and sat her up. Mimi's heart began to beat fast by James aggression.

"GET A GRIP WOMEN!" He lashed out at her. "It's almost time for the lighting and you're here pouting like a baby!" He continued. Mimi's eyes widen as she focused on him. He let go of her hand and turned away from her.

"I swear Mimi, I'm tired of you and all this sulking!" He said as he clamped his fist. " You need to grow a pair and get your ass out to the school!" He continued. Mimi was speechless and a bit embarrassed by his words. "Taichi is dumb as a rock! If you don't tell him tonight then you have only to blame but yourself!" He scolded her.

"Its not that easy! After last night, I don't think..." She was cut off. He took her by the hand and stood her up. "Do you know that for a fact?!" He said as he stared straight at her. Mimi's eyes were focused and began to water. "No no NO! No crying you're done crying!" He continued. Mimi looked away to hide her upcoming tears.

"Please stop crying Mimi!" He exclaimed. She tried to bury her hands in her face.
