Transformers: Family facing the Fallen chapter 7
The very next morning, after a long battle, the Autobots who had gone off to storm the Decepticon base to get the other Wilson siblings finally returned. Optimus did too, after finally killing the Fallen. Both fights were brutal and too violent to discuss here and Lavender, Ratchet, and First Aid were tending to everyone's injuries including those of Darcy, Marcy, Kayla, and Brandon.
"I'm glad you guys are here; please, please don't die on me anyone." Lisa begged as she watched everything going on from her own cot in the medbay.
"We'll make sure that they don't." Lavender assured the young human girl.
It would take at least a week maybe more for the Autobots to recover from their injuries. Darcy, Marcy, Kayla and Brandon would take a bit longer to heal or at least would be kept in the medbay longer. It had seemed so unlikely that things would be begin to turn around...
It was just before Christmas when the Wilson siblings were allowed out of the medbay. They had gathered in the living room with the Autobots. Optimus Prime immediately had himself and Elita gently lift the children up (including Lisa, who had already undone the seatbelt on her wheelchair) and sat on the sofa with them. Much to Kayla's surprise, Optimus had not forgotten the tree or the presents even while worrying about the war and other things.
"I'm glad to be out of the medbay." Brandon said.
"Me too." Kayla added.
"Optimus and I are glad all of you are all right." Elita One told the humans.
Optimus Prime simply nodded in agreement before speaking. "All 5 of you will be able to open your presents tomorrow but tonight, we have an announcement."
Everyone listened as Prowl explained that the Autobots were going to move tehir base to the other Washington, Washington D.C., and form a support team with humans called NEST. It was part of a plan to have humans feel less hopeless when it came to the Autobots and Decetpcions' battles since the humans would be trained to be able to hold their own in a battle with giant alien robots.
"So, when are we moving? Where are we going to go to school?" Lisa asked, very worried but at the same time curious.
"Don't worry; we're getting your grades and all that other info together to send to your new education centers." Jazz assured her. "We're moving bases in January."
The kids were cuddled carefully by both Autobot commanders. "I know it's hard to deal with moving but it's something that must be done not only for your safety but for the safety of humankind as a whole." Elita One told the young humans.
"Everything will get better right?" Kayla asked.
Optimus Prime allowed himself to smile. "Things will get better, Kayla. A change of location is going to be a good thing."
"I hope the Autobot-Decepticon war ends too." Darcy said.
"Oh, Optimus, you and Elita need to see Frozen when we buy it on DVD! It's a really great movie and it was too bad you had to miss seeing it in theaters." Marcy interrupted excitedly before anyone could reply to her twin's statement.
"One at a time please when it comes to speaking." Elita told the Wilson siblings.
The rest of that Christmas was great and after the New Year arrived, move everyone did. Wheeljack and Ratchet had packed everything that the Autobots needed and Jetfire and the Aerialbots had flown ahead to DC to meet the humans who would be part of NEST. Optimus Prime was carrying the Wilson siblings' things in his trailer while the kids would be riding in Emerald's alt mode. It was the night of January 3rd when those bots who all had ground altmodes started driving different routes to get to DC (mainly to avoid attracting attention). Wheeljack had set off explosives to decommision the old base so that the Decepticons would not be able to raid it and use anything from it.
Now that everyone was on the road, including the Wilson siblings in Emerald's alt mode. They were still asleep. Optimus Prime himself was looking towards the east to watch the sunrise as he drove. There would be other dark times even after dealing with the Fallen but for now, the sunrise seemed to indicate that for now, the future looked bright...
