Authors note: Hey guys, I want to apologize for how long it took to get this chapter out. I also want to thank a couple of people for looking this over, Ami L. Mendal, Godisgood3, and xMiaCarax. You guys saved me when my normal beta disappeared. This is a short chapter but I wanted to get it out so I didn't leave you guys hanging. On to some sad news. This fic will be going on a temporary hiatus. I need some time to plot things out and figure out where I'm going with this. When I first started this fic I had a million little story lines and different directions to go with it but now I'm unsure. I've been super busy with college, some of you might know I'm trying to get my nursing degree so it's hard to balance writing and school. I will be back and I will try not to make you guys wait to long. During the wait if you like Harry Potter or Teen Wolf I have a couple of one-shots and an ongoing Harry Potter fic I just started.

Disclaimer; I do not own twilight. Please review.

God help them

Aurora huffed as she piled books into a box. This was the second move in not even a month, and once again she was packing away the little that she had. Looking up from her work, she glanced at Demitri, watching him as he pawed through what he deemed necessary for her to take to her new home. She sighed. Once again, her life was being uprooted and things were going to change. She had barely been aware of Bianca's death when a whole new world had been opened to her - a world she had rather never been a part of. The fact that she soon would either be killed or turned into one of these creature's was daunting. So many thoughts ran through her head. Would she still be her? Would she become a monster? Even if she was no longer human, would she still have her humanity and keep to her morals? She was lucky she had Demitri. This past week he had stayed with her, answering her questions and soothing her fears. He walked her to work and back home, on constant guard for Grant. Not that the human had a chance at ever hurting him. He was there as Heidi brought in a human or two off the street, for Aurora to practice her abilities with. This new development was ordered by Aro and enforced with an ever so watchful Jane in the background. Those days were the most uncomfortable. Aurora could only slip small notions or ideas into a person's head for them to act out on. That alone left her feeling fatigued, and with Heidi and Demitri trying to encourage her while at the same time Jane was just waiting for her to mess up, it left her feeling both mentally and physically drained. Closing the box, she got up and picked up the newspaper Demitri had brought in with him. It was American, Seattle when she looked at it closely. The headline was big and bold:

SERIAL KILLER STILL AT LARGE AS MORE GO MISSING!

She looked over at Demitri, holding up the paper. "It's still happening?"

He stopped what he was doing to turn and look up at her. "Yes."

"Is it vampires?" She demanded, setting the paper down and walking over to him.

He stilled even more, hands tightening on the picture he had been looking at. "Newborns. Mature vampires would know better then to cause this much chaos and to be so sloppy."

Aurora nodded and then asked. "A newborn. That's what I'll be, right?"

Demitri set down the picture, then strode forward and grasped her arms. "Not like them. I promise you, I won't let you become like them."

She smiled up at him. "I know."

He let out a sigh before letting go, grabbing the picture and putting it into another box filled with clothes, then shutting the lid over the image of Bianca's smiling face. "I think that's everything you're going to need. Once you turn, we can get you anything else you deem necessary. God knows Heidi has been itching for a reason to go shopping lately."

Aurora smiled at the thought of the other woman. She had become friends with the beautiful vampire, bonding on the long hours they spent trying to hone her abilities. Heidi was an easy person to get along with as long as one wasn't a threat to what she held close, but Aurora couldn't stop thinking about what happened to the last person she had become close to. Bianca's death had been so sudden and unexpected, and it had come like a slap. The fact that Grant was not above hurting innocent people to get to her shouldn't have been so shocking, yet to see her first true friend murdered so brutally was not something she had ever thought possible. Grant had dropped off the radar after. No phone calls threatened the silence of her home. Nothing, absolutely nothing - and that was what scared her. He had to be planning something big. She even worried he might be planning to hurt Heidi or Demitri, which was laughable, really. They could rip him apart within seconds, but the constant worry that he would find out and expose them for what they truly were was plaguing her mind. She let out another long sigh before Demitri tapped her on the shoulder. He grave her a grin and then picked up both boxes.

"Let's go."
