I want to thank everyone who has stuck with this story. It means a lot to me that you all have kept reading and waited so patiently for the ending. So here it is... I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

I would just like to point out that yes there are probably a few spelling and grammar errors in my work, I don't have anyone to check over them for me but I do my best to pick them up, I am only human.

Also with this story some people think I have rushed Kensi and Deeks' relationship, but I feel that you can't rush true love :) If its meant to be what will happen will happen. Thank you once again to all my readers, you guys are awesome!

Deeks spent the last hour and a half planning every little detail of what would be their first official date. He then spent thirty minutes fussing over what he was going to wear. Of course he knew he shouldn't over think things. He already knew that Kensi liked him, but everything had to be perfect. Every last little detail.

After deciding on a pair of tidy dark wash jeans and a black button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up he was ready to go. It's now or never, he thought to himself. As he arrived back at Kensi's place to pick her up, he was nervous as hell to say the least. His palms were sweaty and the butterflies in his stomach showed no sign of letting up.

As he approached Kensi's door his heart was thumping wildly in his chest with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. He had been waiting for this day for so long. Ever since he joined NCIS as their LAPD liason, Deeks and Kensi had a 'thing'. It was rarely spoken about or acknowledged by either of them. But now the time had finally come, and Deeks couldn't be happier. He knocked on the door softly and waited.

"Just be a minute" Kensi called out from the other side.

Deeks waited patiently as he heard a whole lot of shuffling coming from inside. Finally the lock on the door clicked and it slowly swung open. And there she was, standing in the doorway smiling at him somewhat shyly. She wore a beautiful black dress that clung to her body showing off all her curves, flowing elegantly from her hips ending just above the knee. Deeks was in awe.

"I… I didn't know how fancy I should dress. Is this ok?" she asked a little hesitantly.

"Wow… Just wow!" Deeks exclaimed. "God Kens you look…. Absolutely gorgeous" he smiled at her.

"Thanks" she blushed.

"Ready to go?" he asked offering up an arm to escort her to the car like a good gentleman. She locked her door and linked her arm through his as they walked to his car.

"So where are we going?" Kensi asked curiously.

"I can't tell you, it's a surprise" he grinned at her. She loved it when he smiled at her like that. It was so infectious, but it gave her crazy butterflies in her stomach.

As the car came to a stop at their destination, Kensi peered out the window wondering which of the restaurants he was taking her to. They all looked very nice. When Deeks opened her door and led her in the opposite direction she was slightly confused, that was until she realised exactly where they were.

The beach. It was Deeks favourite place to be, and he couldn't think of a better place to spend their first official date. It was the place he felt most happy, and being there with the one person in the world who he loved more than anything made it so much better. It had taken a lot of planning, but he had pulled it off, and he hoped like hell that she liked it.

"You might wanna take off those heels Kens, we have a little bit of a walk" he smiled at her as he held out his hand so she could steady herself as she removed them.

As they strolled down the beach together hand in hand Kensi was so lost in the feeling of his fingers intertwined with hers that she almost missed a faint light in the distance. She looked a little harder, but couldn't quite make out what it was. When they got closer she could see a man standing there waiting, and she looked over at Deeks giving him a questioning look.

"Security" Deeks chuckled to her as he walked toward the man. "Thanks for keeping an eye out brother" he said as he handed the guy some cash and sent him on his way.

"Had to make sure no one hijacked our date" Deeks laughed as he led Kensi closer to the lights, and what she saw completely blew her away.

Set out on the beach was the most beautiful picnic, lit up by at least a dozen candles. All laid out on a picnic blanket was all of Kensi's favourite foods including plenty of twinkies, along with a few bottle of expensive looking wine.

"Deeks… you did all this?" she asked, both shocked and impressed by the effort he had gone to.

"Sure did Princess, just for you" he smiled somewhat triumphantly. "Shall we?" he asked as he gestured for her to take a seat.

They sat together in the cool sea breeze, each with a glass of wine. The pair talked about the strangest of things from their comic book collections, to the movies that make them cry, but then again together they were a bit of a strange combination. As always with Kensi and Deeks, conversation came easily as they enjoyed the food as well as one another's company.

"Kens, can I say something?" Deeks asked a little cautiously.

"When have you ever asked for permission to speak Deeks?" Kensi laughed at her partner.

"Good point" he chuckled. "I just want to say that you look absolutely breath taking tonight. In fact you always look beautiful" he smiled.

Kensi blushed, unable to find any words to say.

"I know the last few weeks can't have been easy for you, but I want you to know that I will always be here for you okay. Whatever you need, I'm your guy" he told her, pausing to take a sip of wine and offer her a twinkie. "I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to realise what has been in front of me all along, I want to be with you Kens, and only you for the rest of my life. You're the one for me" he grinned at her, knowing his words might be a little cheesy but it's what he truly felt.

"Deeks…"

"It's ok you don't have to say anything Kens, I just wanted you to know"

"Deeks… shut up for a minute and let me talk" Kensi teased.

"You're right, these last few weeks have been really hard, but I never would have made it through without you. You always have my back, and that means more to me than I could ever express. I think we have been hiding from our 'thing' for too long. What I'm trying to say is, I want to be with you too Deeks" she smiled at him, looking him right in the eye so he could see all the truth in her words.

Without another word, Deeks leaned forward, placing a warm hand on the soft skin of her face, bringing her closer to him. As his lips connected with hers it was like everything else in the world disappeared. It was just the two of them, locked together in this moment of love and desire. When they parted for air, Deeks pressed his forehead against hers looking into her beautiful eyes. He couldn't stop the sigh that escaped from his lips. It was a sigh of contentment. Finally they were together, and happier than they had ever been before.
