A/N.: Hey there! I'm really sorry it took me so long to update... hope you're still reading though. And could you do me a favor and read the A/N below? :)

Chapter 13:

Shane was furious, his parents had never told him that his grandma was sick. He never knew that she would be this sick and he definitely hadn't expected her to not remember him. How could they keep something this important from him?

"Shane?" Mitchie's voice cut through his thoughts.

"Yeah?" he said, slowly taking in his surroundings.

"We're here, but are you sure you want to go inside? We can talk to them another time," she tried to reassure him.

Shane shook his head "No. I need to do this now. I can't believe they didn't tell me before," he said angrily.

"Shane, you're way too angry to have a normal conversation with them, you need to calm down."

"I think I have a pretty damn good reason for being angry and I don't care if you think I need to calm down – they should have told me! I have a right to know that my grandma's sick and they should have told me before she started forgetting me!" he hissed.

"You know what? I don't care what you think either! You can go in there and scream all you want at them for not telling you, whatever. But I'm not going in there with you," she said coldly.

"Mitch..." Shane tried.

"No! You wanna throw a tantrum in there? Go ahead, have fun," she said gesturing to the house.

"Fine, be that way!" he exclaimed angrily and left the car to enter his parents' house.

Mitchie rolled her eyes, but stayed in the car. She saw Nate open the door and Shane walking inside , brushing his brother to the side.

"How could you not tell me that Grandma doesn't even remember me?!" he yelled as soon as he saw his parents in the living room.

"Shane would you please calm down and not talk to us like that?" his father, Paul, said sternly.

"No! I will not 'calm down'! I had a right to know that my grandma was sick! You knew about her health all along, you should have told me!" he continued angrily, although he slightly lowered his volume.

"Shane, we wanted to protect you. You had so many things to worry about... We're sorry, but we didn't know that she had dementia until your tour had started, we thought she'd pull through... but when we heard the diagnosis we had to tell you," his mother said sadly.

"Even if she had had a curable disease, I would have wanted to know. She was the only one who always believed in me and now she can't even remember me!" Shane ranted.

Meanwhile, Mitchie was still sitting in the car, determined to stay mad at Shane, but she couldn't. She quickly sent a text to Nate "Hey. How are things inside? Is Shane doing okay?"

"Pretty bad. He won't calm down, you need to talk to him. You're the only one he'll listen to."

She instantly felt guilty for getting angry with Shane and not supporting him.

"Look Shane, this isn't only hard on you. It's taken a toll on all of us. We're sorry we didn't tell you sooner, but we thought we were doing the right thing," Paul admonished.

"The right thing? I don't know what made you think that not telling me would be the right thing in the first place, but whatever. Thanks a lot for taking away months that I could have spent with her by doing the right thing!" he shouted, close to tearing up, before storming out of the room and slamming the front door.

He didn't notice Mitchie in the driveway until he ran into her, nearly making her lose her balance.

"I'm s-" he got out, before his emotions got the best of him. Mitchie hugged him tightly as he let his tears fall freely. After a while of quietly comforting him, Mitchie pulled away and wiped his tears away. Shane let out a shaky laugh, confusing her. "Shouldn't the guy be the one to comfort his girl and wipe away her tears?" he asked only half joking.

Mitchie giggled, but soon turned serious "No, sometimes even the tough guys need someone to comfort them... You really do have to apologize to your family though, they made a mistake, but you shouldn't have yelled at them like that."

"How... did you?" he asked utterly confused.

"I texted Nate, I was worried about you," she said.

"Thank you so much, Mitch... I don't know what I'd do without you," Shane said, looking deeply into her eyes.

"It's okay," she said, leaning up to give him a kiss. "Let's go home... we can work things out tomorrow, it's been a long day," she added after ending their kiss.

The next morning was pretty peaceful for the two of them, they had cooked together and had spend the time after eating cuddling on the couch. Shane had also talked to his family on the phone and had apologized for yelling at them. They had all forgiven him, saying they understood him and were sorry, too. Nate and Jason had asked him if he wanted to come along to their visit at the nursing home, but he had declined, telling them that he needed the day to sort out his emotions.

"What are you up to?" Mitchie asked, emerging from the bathroom after taking a relaxing shower.

Shane looked up from the book he'd been trying to read "Nothing, I can't really concentrate."

"How about some TV? Although I don't know if there's anything good on.." she asked while sitting down next to him and leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Sure, we can just flip through," Shane agreed, putting his arm around her and turning on the TV with the remote.

After flipping through the first three channels, something on Hot Tunes caught their attention:

"What is going on with Connect 3? They canceled the rest of their tour because of 'personal issues' and were seen arriving at LAX yesterday morning, where Shane's girlfriend, Mitchie Torres, was waiting to pick them up.

Apparently, Mitchie had briefly exchanged words with Nate, Jason and Caitlyn, after giving her boyfriend a comforting hug. We are not sure why Mitchie would have to comfort Shane, but we do know that this was not the only time that she has comforted Shane."

The screen showed a picture of Mitchie wiping away Shane's tears in his parents' driveway.

"What could possibly be so bad, that it made Connect 3's Shane Gray cry?"

The screen now switched to a video footage of what had happened in front of his parents' house.

"We're sorry to see the usually tough rockstar so troubled and hope that he's back to his usual self soon, but there are also a lot of people who have taken to the internet to express their anger, stating that they're 'sick of Connect 3's constant canceling of concerts'. Hopefully they'll soon release an explanation for their sudden cancelation. Make sure to tune in later for more updates on Conncet 3 and CO!"
