Hello! It's Melodious! Here's another chapter! Hope you like it. Yadda-Yadda, blah blah. Loves you guys!

-Deuces :D

"You failed."

I sigh as if that isn't already obvious. How was I suppose to take a test while the man that I love, who also caused me to become emotionally exhausted, was in the room. It doesn't help that it's almost Christmas too.

"Yeah. But whose fault was that?" I respond. Spock tilts his head to the side out of puzzlement.

"I do not comprehe-"

" Yeah. Of course you don't." I interrupt him and cross my arms in front of my chest.

"Fortunately Cadet, due to your past accomplishments, I inferred that it was due to an ailment. The academic head permitted you to retake this exam."

"An ailment. Yeah. I guess you can say that." I refuse to look Spock in his eyes.

"Tomorrow you will report to my office at the same time you do usually. Instead of working as my assistant, you will take your exam."

I guess I should tell him thank you, no matter how much I don't want to.

"Thanks." I mumur. Suddenly a blonde blue shirt tunes in on Spock's PDA.

"Commander Spock. Your mother has arrived in the guess room." Spock's eyes widen. Quickly he responds to the woman.

"Tell her to stay where she-"

As he says this the door to his office opens and here comes, whom I assume is Spock's mother. Spock looks taken aback as she quickly rushes to his side. She's a brunette woman of small stature. She has a beautiful and youthful face with big brown eyes, a small nose, and other delicate features.

"Mother-" He tries to reason with her before he's quickly enveloped into an embrace.

"Spock I missed you so much!" She pulls back before giving him a huge peck on his cheek.

"Mother, what did I tell you about showing me affection in front of others?"

"Oh its just in front of Nyota. It's not like I'm doing it in front of a crowd!" She states. Spock looks even more taken aback and I am slightly confused.

"Excuse me Miss –uh" I look to Spock for help, but all he does is wear that stoic stare as usual.

"Amanda. Call me Amanda." She smiles as she takes my hand.

"Yes. Amanda. It's a pleasure to meet you, but how exactly do you know my name?" I ask politely.

"Sarek has told me plenty about you." I quickly glance at Spock, who looks just as baffled as I am. "Don't worry. He said nothing bad. He claimed that you are Spock's assistant that majors in Xenolinguistics. He didn't mention that you were this beautiful. But he did say that you remind him of me when I was young and that you are also the girl that Spock fancies." Spock's face tinges green and I'm sure I'm blushing as well.

'Did Spock say that he fancied me?' I light up with joy.

"Mother, I did not say that I fancy her. Do not make false assumptions." He tells her.

Well he just shot down my hopes and dreams.

"I didn't say it either. Your father did and you and I both know he has very good judgment." She smiles at Spock who in return says nothing.

"You should have previously mentioned that you were planning to arrive here today." He tells her.

"I wanted it to be a surprise for Christmas." She says cheerfully.

"Surprises are illogical and have you forgotten that I do not participate in that custom anymore."

"Does he tick you off too with this 'logic' stuff?" She turns to me.

'Oh you don't even know.'

"Mother, I am sure that you are well aware of the importance of logic." He tells her

"Yes Spock. I am well aware and I know that you don't celebrate Christmas, but I do. And I am going to see my son for Christmas whether you like it or not." She tells him. I cannot love her more. "Oh yes, Miss Nyota. I have something for you." Okay maybe I can. She digs through her bag and takes out a sparkly red dress and hands it to me. "Sarek said you were very skinny, so this size seems fitting."

"Thank you so much!" I stand up to hug her. I look over at Spock who seems to be very distressed.

"I heard you turned down Sarek's offer to lead Vulcan." She says to her son. Spock looks up at her hopefully.

"Did you also desire for me to do so?"

"Of course not Spock. I think you are meant to do great things here in Starfleet. Especially now that you've met this beautiful woman." She says as looks at me. My face turns red. His mom really seems to think Spock is interested in me. But little does she know, that is hardly the case.

"Oh by the way Spock, I've booked a trip for you and Nyota to stay in Vulcan with us this Christmas." She says with nonchalance. I start choking randomly on air, which causes her giggle.

"Mother, you do not know what Nyota has planned for her Christmas retreat. There is a strong possibility she desires to reside with her family."

"I hope you don't mind Nyota, but I already spoke with your parents. They thought it was a great idea and they agreed that it would benefit you as a learning experience to stay in a Vulcan-Speaking community." She says to me. My jaw has literally dropped.

"O-okay." I say quietly. Not that I do want to go, I do. But whoa this is scary. How did she find my parents?

"Nyota is already fluent in Vulcan. She does not need-"

"Shhhh. Spock, you talk too much" She puts a finger on his mouth, which shuts him up.

"Alright, you two. We will talk about this further. There's still about 5 days before Christmas. Nyota, I am not forcing you to go, but please think about it. Okay? I'll be in one of the guess rooms. Goodbye!" She says before she takes her leave. Spock and I are left Speechless.

"So wait, she wants you to wuuuuuut?"

"To go to Vulcan, yes." I tell them. Gaila looks baffled, as well as Chekov and Sulu.

"Wait who wants you to go to Vulcan?" Sulu asks.

"Shut up Sulu!" Gaila yells at him. "And he tried to kiss you? In the snow? That's so cute!"

"He didn't kiss me Gaila." I say back to her.

"Wait. Who tried to kiss you?" Sulu asks.

"Shut up Sulu!" Gaila yells again.

"Why can't I know?" He retorts.

"Cause we don't know you like that yet!"

"Oh come on Gaila. He probably won't say anything." Chekov tries to reason with her.

"What if he reports 'you know who' for 'you know'?!" She responds back. No matter how annoying Gaila is about this. She's right. It's not that I don't like Sulu, but if anyone were to know of any 'romance' that goes on between Spock and I, Spock could get reported. Not because he's my professor, but because I'm not of age yet to be with him.

"Is this something that goes against regulations?" Sulu ponders.

"No."

"Yes." Chekov and Gaila look at each other.

"Why would you say yes?" Chekov asks her incredulously.

"Reverse-psychology!" She whispers, which causes him to face-palm.

"Are you talking about a professor? Wait- Are you talking about Spock?" Sulu asks. Everyone gets quiet. Of course he would figure it out. He's incredibly smart, Gaila and Chekov are extremely obvious, and he knows Spock is my professor.

"Yes." I sigh. "I'm talking about Spock."

"Did you really think I'd say something? And, no offense, but do you really think Spock is interested in you?" Sulu says bluntly. Chekov flinches and Gaila whispers a 'damn' while she shakes her head. I sigh again.

"No and ….no." I answer.

"I mean if he tried to kiss you…" Sulu says.

"I don't know what he was doing. I closed my eyes at the last minute." I respond, before I feel a slap on the back of my head. "Ow!" I look up to see Gaila.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?" She asks me.

"Don't people usually close their eyes when they think people are about to kiss them?" I say while rubbing my head.

"Well, anyway you have to agree to go to Vulcan." She demands to me.

"Wait-who asked you to go to Vulcan?" asks Sulu.

"His mother." I say nonchalantly.

"Oh, his mother…what his mother!?" he exclaims.

"So! Tell his mom you said yes!" Gaila says.

"Its not that simple. I don't think Spock wants me to go." I respond

"So you're telling me Spock's mom wants you to go to Vulcan and you don't think Spock wants you to go?"

"Gaila." I look at her skeptically. "That is literally what I just said." I feel another slap on the back the head.

"That's it Gaila! You're gonna get it!" I yell before wrestling her to the ground. Chekov turns to Sulu.

"I don't actually know these two. I'm just here to give them psychiatric treatment." Chekov tells him.

"Makes sense." Sulu nods.
