A/N: Hello, Hello. Sorry that I haven't uploaded in like FOREVER but I've been really busy with school. College is alot of work. Anyways I want to thank everyone for the support cause this story is NOT easy to write.
As usual I do not own anyone except for Elisabeth Valentine.
'Throw it up, throw it up, watch it all fall out'
Was booming in the club, she could hear the song in the other room, while the dancers were making their money. She on the other hand was too busy staring at herself in the mirror having inner doubts. She wasn't really going to dance in front of everyone that was optional however she did have to dance privately for certain customers because the club made 10% of her profit. It was a rule she had to follow if she wanted to stay here. Getting in wasn't a problem, all she had to do was bat her pretty eyes and show some cleavage; she was hired on the spot. Getting out on the other hand….she was having a huge problem with this. Normally Elisabeth had no problems being confident and sexy. She considered herself semi attractive with a petite body and a pretty face. Not to mention long brown hair that came to her back. However, this was the most reveling outfit she had on. She was feeling quite uncomfortable. She was used to guys looking at her, checking her out even. But the types of looks they were giving her tonight were more animistic. They definitely didn't just want her number. But she had to do her job; the real one and the one that she pretty much beg the F.B.I to do.
She took a deep breath. "Okay Elizabeth, you can do this" she told herself in the mirror. She had wanted this job, now she was going to do it. No matter how crazy it would get and how uncomfortable she would be she would have to get used to it; for now anyway. She walked out of the "dressing room" observing her surroundings. She wasn't sure if he was going to even show up tonight but just in case she had to keep her guard up.
Feeling the nerves again she headed straight to the bar for a drink. She would order something light so she wouldn't get too fucked up; she had to stay alert just in case any illegal activity went on.
"What's up buttercup" the bartender called to her. Elizabeth looked at the woman strangely
What did she just call me? She thought to herself. She didn't really know how to respond to that. So the bartender just kept talking.
"Your new, Aren't you?" she began. "New girls always look flustered on their first night" the bartender continued to talk to Elisabeth while mixing some drinks. It looked kind of complicated but she seemed to know what she was doing. This reminded Elisabeth about what she came here for.
"I uh….want a drink, something sweet and light please" she said nervously while playing with her top. The bartender arched a brow at her, but made her drink despite the woman nervous behavior. When the bartender was done she slapped Elisabeth's drink down to get her attention.
Elisabeth eyed the drink suspiciously "What is it?" she asked
"Oh it's just one of my specialties" she cooed "You'll love it!"
"Well okay" she shrugged. She tried to always be cautious of what she was drinking but at this very moment she did not care as she wanted to feel relax and not nervous anymore. So she downed the drink in one huge gulp. The first mistake she made of the series of mistakes she was going to make tonight.
"Mmm tasty" she said smiling widely at the bartender. The alcohol was already starting to kick in as she felt happier automatically.
"Thanks" the bartender replied.
"So anyways" Elisabeth continued "Why aren't you up there, shaking what your mama gave ya" she said while shaking her booty in her stool a little trying to dance.
The bartender just laughed at that comment and kept watching Elisabeth amused by what she was seeing. It was funny how alcohol can show a person's true colors.
"Oh me" the bartender accused. "I rather play video games all day then 'dance' up there, I'm only doing this gig because I'm in wrestling school, it pays well and lets you have a lot of free time in the afternoon"
"Wrestling School?" Elisabeth asked while her eyes went wide in amazement "So could you kick anybody's ass in a second?"
"Maybe" the bartender replied with a small smile on her face "I'm A.J by the way"
"Elisabeth, but you can call me Ella Marie while we're here" she winked "And give me some more of that great drink I just had" the alcohol was making her feel good and she didn't want that feeling to stop. A.J shook her head from left to right indicating that it wasn't such a good idea. But she would keep an eye on the new girl if she got out of hand or some creep approached her. She didn't know why but she taken a liking to Elisabeth, she thought she was kind of funny, not to mention the life of the party….when she had alcohol in her system.
"Okay" A.J. sang "But I think this should be your last drink"
After her second drink, she was feeling tipsy. It probably wasn't a good idea to be drinking with people she didn't know too well but she couldn't help it. Besides what could happen?
Little did she know a problem was lurking just around the corner. His name was Dean Ambrose, the guy that she was supposed to get dirt on and eventually turn into the authorities. The man that made her stomach twists in knots every time she thought about him or heard his name. Unbeknownst to her, Dean had been watching her the whole time since he came in. He could tell she was having a little too much to drink and by the end of the night would probably be too drunk to stand on her own. He could take care of her; after all he was her boss.
"Hey Colby" he called to one of his partners in crime "Who's the new girl?" he asked
Colby looked where Dean was looking noticing the girl he was all of a sudden becoming so fond of. He arched an eyebrow at his friend.
"Oh her?" he asked his friend in disbelief. She wasn't the type of girls Dean usually went for so he was a little surprise of his friend's sudden interest.
"Yeah her" Dean challenged his friend. "Is there a problem?"
"Nah man" Colby shrugged causally. "It's just, she's not usually the kind of girl you go for, she looks….fragile, knowing you, you'd probably break her in half"
Dean smiled at that. "Yeah probably"
"But she's cute, looks like she would be difficult though" Colby said
"Yeah well you know I like a challenge" Dean responded. "Besides, no Woman can resist the Ambrose charm"
Colby laughed at his friend. Sometimes Dean's ego could really get the best of him.
"Yeah okay Dean you go for the jail bait, just remember to use a condom this time, Chlamydia can be a son of a bitch when it's not treated for a while" he said smirking at his friend
" Fuck you man" Dean replied back to his friend with a light shove.
Dean just continued to stare at the woman at the bar. There was something he liked about her, she looked….innocent something that added to her beauty and just seemed out of place, she didn't belong in this filth so why the hell was she here. She certainly didn't look like the type of girl to dance half naked for money. She looked classier than that. He wanted to get to know her.
Meanwhile, across the club Elisabeth was becoming more of a hot mess then she was before. Alcohol was always her downfall when consumed in a nervous state. She knew she shouldn't have taken the drink at all but wasn't thinking clearly at the time.
"Looks like someone have their eye on you" AJ said with a smirk on her face.
"What a perv?" Elisabeth responded back with disgust in her words. It wasn't like she was going to meet her one true love in this place so she assumed all the guys who came here were either cheaters or just plain disgusting. She wasn't pleased with this sudden attention she was getting. She looked around casually for this person checking her out.
"Who is it?" she asked AJ. "Is he at least semi attractive?"
"Maybe" AJ winked at her playfully.
Elisabeth laughed; she normally wasn't in the mood for the whole cat and mouse thing but if AJ wanted to play this game then she would at least indulge her for a little while. It didn't seem to be any suspicious activity going on at least not anything she could notice. She would eventually have to get a really good look at the club; maybe see if there were any more spots that where hidden from the rest of the guest. She had been watching the Wire, she remembered their being a room upstairs where the business meetings would be.
"Is he…..still looking" she asked this time with intent
"Yes" AJ said simply
The young rookie fiddled with her top some more trying to make her assets seem more profitable. Who knew maybe this mysterious admirer she had could be her first official customer. The alcohol had definitely kicked in at this point as she didn't feel anything like herself. She tried to casually look at herself in the mirror located behind the bar but she couldn't really see. So she asked AJ for her opinion.
"Hey AJ" she began playing with her hair "How do I look?"
"Stunning" A man answered behind her. She turned slowly facing this stranger; she hadn't seen him at the club before. He had a deep almost intoxicating voice and he indeed was very attractive.
She eyed the man curiously, where the hell had he come from? Was he standing there the whole time? Surely she would have noticed him…..right? Either way she didn't have enough time to think up any more questions as the random stranger proceeded to keep talking and had even sat down next to her. When did that happen? She thought to herself.
"Hey bartender, why don't you get this beautiful lady another drink….on me" he said while looking at Elisabeth up and down, noticing just how good she looked.
AJ rolled her eyes at him. Clearly Elisabeth had, had enough to drink, was he trying to get her shitfaced? And possibly take advantage of her? Not on her watch
"Oh I think she's had enough for the night" she said looking at him with an annoyed expression on her face.
"Oh?" he asked the bartender " I think she should be the judge of that" he retorted while looking at Elisabeth waiting for her answer.
Elisabeth didn't know what to do. She felt like she was stuck in the middle of the two and to be honest wasn't sober enough to think. But the man in front of her was intriguing and had a certain swag going on. She kind of liked it, besides it would kill some time for the night and this way she wouldn't have to really dance for anyone. So she agreed. She was far too curious to what this man wanted; if it was a dance he would have asked by now, so it couldn't be that.
"Sure" she responded shrugging her shoulders naturally. Stunned AJ just made another drink reluctantly as she didn't want to cause random drama between herself and this man.
Dean just smirked at AJ "You herd the lady" while forwarding all of his attention towards Elisabeth.
"I don't think we have been formally introduced" he began while sticking his hand out. "I'm Dean Ambrose" he stated proudly.
Just then Elisabeth's whole face froze in fear; she was in total and complete shock of what she just herd. This man, this charming man who bought her a drink and continually kept complementing her looks; this was the man that she was going undercover for? Was she high? Did she hear him correctly? This was Dean Ambrose this was the guy she was supposed to be afraid of? She wasn't that impressed yeah he was taller than her so but everyone was so she got used to that a long time ago.
She cleared her throat, not sure exactly what she should say.
"Ella Marie" she responded slowly, she wanted to leave as soon as she could her stomach were in twisted knots, but she had a feeling he wasn't going to let her go that easy.
As soon as he noticed her cold behavior towards him, he started to look at her suspiciously
"Something wrong, sweetheart, I'm not…..making you uncomfortable I'm I" he asked while casually placing his hand on her lap.
"NO" she said with determination "it's just that you caught me off guard"
"Do you know of me" he asked
"Somewhat" she admitted. She was about to say something else when her phone stared vibrating. She looked down recognizing the number automatically. She needed to get this. And honestly wanted to leave this situation before it got anymore worse or inappropriate.
"I have to go" she stated. Standing up abruptly. "But it was nice meeting you….Dean" she was about to leave when Dean swiftly grabbed her arm.
"Did I say you could go?" he said in an arrogant manner "When I'm done talking to ya, then you can leave, until then, you better sit your little pretty butt back down, before you make me angry" he demanded .
For the second time that night Elisabeth felt uneasy and uncomfortable. She really wanted to go but wasn't sure how serious Dean was being, for now she would have to play along before he did something drastic and her whole undercover operation would be over before it even began.
"Okay" she said a little uneasily. What the hell did he want with her anyway?
"Good girl" he nodded approvingly at her with a small smile on his face. "So.." he started "Why don't you and me get more…acquainted" he started stroking her arm trying to make his point clear.
She tried to shrug his arm off but to no avail. During this whole uncomfortable scene AJ all the while just stood around cleaning up her area. She wasn't happy with what she was witnessing, but she didn't really want to get involved. She didn't want to get Ambrose angry she had seen that happen on a few occasions and has since would rather try to avoid it at all cost. Besides she could tell that Elisabeth could handle herself and she wasn't as drunk as she wanted people to believe. The last bartender who got involved had lost their job and she really needed this gig, she had rent to pay and loans to start paying off, not to mention her wrestling career was in the making
"Hey" he shouted to AJ "Are you going to make us that drink? He asked her impatiently
"Right" AJ said with a challenge. She slapped the drink down a little bit agitated by Ambrose behavior, with a fake smile on her face. "Here you go" she said with a hint of annoyance in her voice "enjoy" she snorted rudely at him.
"Thanks" he said sarcastically. He then turned his attention to Elisabeth "Go ahead, sweetheart" he ordered her "Drink"
She looked at the drink for a few minutes not really wanting to drink it, she was already starting to get sober and didn't want to drink anymore for the night.
"I don't really…." She began, but she could already tell that arguing with him was not worth it. So she just held the glass to her lips and slowly drank the alcohol, it burned her throat while going down. Causing her to tear up in the process; she was starting to feel light headed. What the hell did she just drink?
"Tasted good, didn't it" he stated, more than asked. She didn't answer him. The two didn't talk, they kept just staring at each other, more like Ambrose was staring at her while she was uncomfortably looking from left to right trying to figure out how to get out of this sticky situation. Finally breaking her out of her thoughts Ambrose spoke.
"Well?" he asked her waiting for her to respond to his earlier question
"Oh" she said disorientated. "Um, yeah it's delicious"
"Good, Now we can get back to business, I know this is your first night so I think there are a few rules that we need to go over" he explained. He got closer to her.
"Actually…." He continued "I think this conversation would be better if we had it in my office" he got up while keeping eye contact with her " I have to go take care of business with some of my people I expect to see you in there in the next 15 minutes, if I don't see you in there by then….I will come find you myself…and trust me darling, you don't want that"
She nodded slowly to what he was saying, trying to act like she understood exactly what he was saying, but secretly was thinking of a way to head to the exit as soon as she could. She could not believe the control he was having over her in the short amount of time they have been sitting there. It must have been the alcohol because she would normally not let any guy talk to her like that, let alone tell her what to do. He was in for a rude awakening if he thought she was going to be treated this way by him, undercover or not, she was going to stand up for herself.
"I want to hear a response from you" he demanded starring holes into her face. He was impatiently looking at her. He really did like to stare, she would have to get over that if she was going to start investigating him.
"Of course" she said with a small smile on her face. Whatever would please him enough for him to leave her the hell alone.
"Good" he said simply. He walked away from her and a breath that she didn't know she was holding came out. What the fuck was all that about? She wondered to herself. She looked down at her phone, noticing that she had 3 missed calls, this must have been pretty urgent. She looked back up to AJ who had a dark look on her face; to say she was pissed was an understatement.
"What the hell was that about?" she asked Elisabeth
"I don't know" she exclaimed "I guess he's taking an unhealthy liking to me, I should be flattered but….he kinda scares me"
"I could tell" AJ softly patted the rookie's hand. "He actually pisses me off, I wanted to punch him in the face when he was bossing you around like that" she said with disdain. She was going to say something else when Elisabeth cut her off.
"So I know that he wants me to be at his office for god knows what" she began saying while nervously running her hand through her hair "But I really need to go and honestly don't give two shits about what he wants me to do" she said with sass. There was the Elizabeth she knew. She must have been starting to get sober.
AJ shook her head frantically once again indicating that, that wasn't such a good idea for the young rookie to do.
"Listen, he isn't someone who plays games, he is very dangerous, hence why I wanted to punch him in the face but didn't" she looked down at her watch "But she said abruptly " You better dash now, because he will be waiting in his office for you soon and when he realizes that you're not there?"
Elisabeth rolled her eyes, while taking a deep breath. "I know, I know" she got up swiftly heading for the exit, before turning around and smiling sincerely at the bartender. She liked her; she was very cool and laid back plus seemed like a genuinely nice person. She thought she could get more information from her. But knew now wasn't the time.
When she finally made it home, looking behind her back every few minutes to make sure a certain criminal wasn't behind her. She slowly started to relax; now all she had to do was re group, start coming up with plans. And also make that damn phone call to the person that kept blowing up her phone. She knew who it was but wasn't so sure if she wanted to answer them at this very moment. She decided that she was going to turn her phone off for the night, but just as she was going to do that she heard an obnoxious noise coming from her door. Someone was banging at her door. It startled her at first, but then angered her next. Who the hell was banging at her door at 3 o'clock in the morning? Was this person mad? She sprinted into her living room heading for the door, when she opened it her whole face froze with horror and she stood there Bug eyed at who was standing in front of her at that very minute.
