A/N:
Hey guys! So, I forgot to put the last chap in italics, but it was in the past if you couldn't figure it out. :)
Also, could you give me some suggestions on how to end this? I have some ideas, but I can't figure out whether to end it one way or another and your opinions mean the world to me. :) I like getting 1000 words in but I am the laziest person so I apologise..
Hope you like it!
"We left?" Cat smiles wryly, taking a sip of her coffee, and nods.
"Yes," she sighs. "Not for too long though. You were seven months pregnant when you left, and Jazzy was 3 months when you came back." Jade's shocked face sends Cat into a fit of giggles, in spite of what she's saying.
"Oh, my." Jade says, biting her lip, and staring down at Jasper in her arms. "I wonder how we came up with that name." His steady breathing gave her something to concentrate on. "Seems like I was a wonderful mother." Jade remarks sarcastically.
"Are." Cat says.
"Huh?"
"You are a wonderful mother, not was." Cat clarifies. "To both of them."
"Oh." Jade says. "I already love this little man. How can I possibly leave him when we go back? And Olivia." Jade ponders. Cat bites her lip, looking worried.
"I was worried about that. It'll be okay."
"No, it won't." Jade says, dangerously close to tears. "What if I never get this? I can't give them back."
"You won't have to. They're yours. Even if not born yet." Jade smiles.
"I just hope so."
"I'll continue."
"Cat continued getting on with life. She got up in the morning, went to work, sent an email to Jade, ate dinner, finished the dishes, slept, and repeat. It was hard, of course. Olivia had been a huge part of her life, for three years, and it killed her not seeing her.
One day, Cat got a frenzied phone call from Beck. "Cat, the baby's coming! It really is! The baby is coming at last!"
"Oh, god! I'm on my way," Cat says, grabbing her keys. "Can I come to the hospital?"
"Yes! Our baby is finally going to be here, Cat, he or she is going to be here!"
"Yes, I know! It's so exciting! Eeep!"
Four hours later, Cat was rushing through the hospital doors, her bag jingling as she ran. "Hello!" Cat cried at the desk. "Jade West is having her baby. What room is it, please?"
"Name and relation."
"Oh, Caterina Valentine and sister," Cat said, praying that was what Jade had put. The lady scanned the records.
"Yes. Room 112. Through those doors and up the stairs."
"Thanks!" Cat rushes up the stairs, dashing two at a time, and finally hears Jade's screams. She always was a bit of a drama queen. She opens the door slowly and Jade smiles broadly.
"Cat!" Beck smiles too, but looks anxious. Cat immediately hugs them both.
"I missed you! Where's Liv?"
"Oh, she's at home with Daddy. We thought she'd like it better there," Jade grins. Cat nods.
"So, how's it going? Is the little one almost here?" Jade shakes her head.
"Apparently I'm only three centemeters dialated. Whatever that means." Beck looks up.
"It means you're not ready to push yet. You need to get to ten."
"Ten?" Cat wrinkles her nose. "Never mind. Can I wait?"
"Sure."
Three hours later, Jade was still in the same room, but when the nurse checked her over, she whooped. "Ten centemeters! You're ready to go." And then it went very quickly. Cat sat next to Jade, holding her hand, and Beck sat at the end of the bed, waiting for the baby.
"I can see the head," Beck says quietly.
"Is it bald?" Jade asks.
"No," Beck says. "He or she has a lot of dark hair."
"Aww!" Cat says, grinning happily. "I can't wait to meet you, baby."
"Me either." Jade mutters.
"The baby's here!" Beck says, very near tears.
"What is it?" Jade calls, peering over.
"He's a boy! A little boy!"
"A boy?" Jade asks. "Let me see him, Beck." He's bundled up and placed in his Mommy's arms. "He's beautiful." Jade says.
"Precious!" Cat confirms.
"Have you got a name for him?" The nurse asks. They shake their head.
"Casper?" Beck suggests. Jade wrinkles her nose.
"No! That's too ghostly."
"Jasper!" Cat pipes up. They look at each other and nod.
"I like that." Beck says. Jade agrees, and they kiss his little mottled hands and face, and Jade thinks she's just about the luckiest person in the world.
