Stef had barely opened her eyes when her bedroom door flew open, door knob hitting the wall behind it. Callie came running in, waving around a piece of paper and speaking about a mile a minute. Lena shot up at the bang of the door, hands up and ready to take on a nonexistent attacker.

"What's going on?" she slurred, sleep still clouding her mind.

Stef put a hand on Callie's arm, "Callie, Sweets, relax. Take a deep breath. Are you okay?"

"My dad's will!" Callie exclaimed, eyes bright. "We just found it in that box his friend gave us! We found his will!" She presented it to her mothers, vibrating with adrenaline. Stef took it from her and reached for her glasses.

"But I thought Adelaide had the will?" Lena asked, eyebrows furrowed as she peered over her partner's shoulder, "That's how she got Jude."

Stef read over the document carefully. When it got to the part where it mentioned guardianship of the Jacob siblings, she nearly dropped the paper, "Lena…he named us as Callie and Jude's guardians."

The vice principle took the document from her partner and read it over herself, "Oh my…"

"How did he know about us?" Stef wondered aloud, looking at Callie. The other kids filed into the room, curious as to what their sister had discovered.

"What does it say?" Jesus asked.

"It says that Mom and I have custody of Callie and Jude," Lena said as she read the document. She turned to Stef, "We need to call the ADA."

Stef already had her phone out, "I'm on it."

Mariana glanced between Callie and Lena, "This is good right? This means Jude can come home?"

"As long as this holds up in court and we can prove Adelaide forged that will, then yes." Lena answered, a smile growing on her face. Mariana grinned and jumped on the bed next to Callie, wrapping her arms around her big sister. Callie squeezed her back, letting out a small laugh.

Stef put down her cell phone, "I am going to meet with Gardner today during work and we are going to make sure these papers are valid. We are going to contact Adelaide's lawyer and hopefully Jude should be home no later than tomorrow."

"Will Adelaide be arrested?" Brandon asked Stef.

"Most likely," she answered, "In any case, she won't be allowed near Jude again."

Callie got up from the bed to wrap Jesus and Brandon up in a three-way hug, "Thank you so much for your help, guys."

"No problem," Jesus answered for the both of them.

Lena glanced at her phone, "Oh! Guys, we have to start getting ready for school. Let's start with showers, please!" Mariana raced her brothers out of the room to make sure she would secure the coveted first spot in the bathroom. Callie bounded over to Stef and Lena and wrapped them up in a fierce hug. The two women looked at each other over the top of the teen's head, surprised to say the least.

Callie looked up at her mothers with a grin, "I love you guys."

"We love you, too, Honey." Lena answered with a large smile. She thought back to the first day she had met Callie outside of the juvenile detention center. She remembered how this girl had come to them with a horrid attitude, untrusting, knowing only fight or flight. And now here she was: initiating physical contact, expressing her love for the two women. It was a big difference and Lena could not have asked for it to be any other way.

"Go get ready for school, Love." Stef advised and Callie made a move for her bedroom. Stef turned to her girlfriend who was positively beaming.

"We're getting our baby back," Lena whispered in a happy voice, eyes shining with excitement. Stef rested her forehead on Lena's as she brought her hands up to her girlfriend's cheeks, their lips meeting for a chaste kiss.

"Yes," Stef breathed, "We are."

This can't be happening…this cannot be happening…

Adelaide's head snapped up as she heard the doorbell ring. She quickly made her way over to open it and allow Arthur in. The lawyer took in his girlfriend's frenzied state, "What's happened, Addie? What's wrong?"

"He's gone!" she exclaimed, "Jude is gone!"

"Gone?" Arthur repeated incredulously, "When did this happen?"

"Last night I assume," Adelaide replied as she began to pace, "He went to bed around nine o'clock. I checked on him before I went to bed at ten! He was asleep…and when I went to get him for breakfast this morning he was nowhere to be seen."

Arthur mulled this over for a moment straightening up, "Let me see his room."

Adelaide gave the man a questioning look but nonetheless lead him to Jude's room. The lawyer took his time taking in the scene―the unmade bed, the improperly closed drawer with the shirt sticking out, the open window.

"Jude isn't the type to do something this rash," Adelaide said quietly as she wrung her hands, "Something is wrong."

Arthur nodded, "You're right. Call the police; I believe Jude has been kidnapped."

The bus came to a hissing stop. Jude looked up at the electrical banner near the front of the bus. It read Coronado. It was close to San Diego, but a bit far to walk. He grabbed his backpack and walked off the bus. He looked around the terminal debating his options. He would never even dream of hitch-hiking―Jesus' late night horror stories made sure of that―but he did need to get to San Diego.

Jude walked outside, squinting from the sun. He turned to his right and eyed the few taxis parked along the curb. He shrugged to himself; what did he have to lose? He walked up to a car and knocked on the window. A middle aged woman rolled down the window. She was African-American with curly black hair pulled back into a ponytail. She had dark, kind-eyes: eyes that reminded Jude of Lena.

"Can I help you, hun?" she asked, smiling a bit.

Jude nodded, "Can you take me to San Diego, please?"

The woman gave him a weird look. She poked her head out the window and looked around, "Where are your parents? Don't tell me you're alone."

"My parents are divorced," Jude said the lie with ease, "I was just visiting my dad and now I have to go back to my mom's."

"And your mom can't come pick you up?"

Jude shook his head as he adjusted the strap on his shoulder, "Her vision isn't so good so she doesn't like to drive."

The women mulled it over for a bit before sighing, "Alright, hop in." Jude smiled and opened the door to the backseat. He pushed his bag to the side and buckled himself in.

The driver looked at him from the rearview mirror, "My name is Rhonda, hun."

"I'm Jude."

The woman smiled and started the car, "Pleased to meet you. Promise me you're not running away from home or something?"

Jude shook his head, "Nope, just going to my moms."

Callie looked up from her homework as she heard the front door open. She was situated in the dining room, books haphazardly strewn about as she made her way through the seemingly endless flow of work. Lena walked into the house, closing the door behind her. She smiled at her daughter, "Hey, sweetheart. What are you up to?"

The younger girl shrugged, "Just some homework. Did you get to talk to Mr. Gardner?"

"We did," Lena answered as she walked into the dining room, "He is going to get in contact with Adelaide's lawyer and hopefully this should all be resolved by the end of the week."

Callie smiled, "Sounds good." Her gaze flitted briefly to the notebook in front of her before returning to Lena who was heading towards the kitchen, "Mom?"

Lena almost tripped when she heard the name directed at her. She blinked her eyes a few times to rid them of the tears that had rushed into them and cleared her throat to dislodge the lump that had settled there. She turned around to face Callie, "Yes, Baby?"

"Do you need help with dinner?"

Lena grinned and made her way over to the teen. She kissed her forehead before brushing her hair back, "Help would be great."

"This is good," Brandon commented as he ate dinner. Everyone was seated around the kitchen table, Callie sandwiched between her mother's on one side and Mariana sandwiched between her brothers on the other. Callie had helped Lena make a seafood pasta dish that had turned out rather well.

"Thank you," Lena answered as she reached for her glass, "Callie helped."

Jesus snorted, "Are you sure this is safe, then?" Callie stuck out her tounge at him, un-chewed food and all.

"Ew, Callie!" Mariana squealed, screwing her eyes shut, "Gross!" Stef shared a look with Lena, eyes bright with joy at the normalcy and ease of the siblings' interaction with each other.

The doorbell rang and Callie stood up, "I'll get it," she announced, tossing her napkin on the table. She walked up the small flight of stairs to the foyer and pulled open the door. Her eyes widened as she registered the person standing in front of her and the smile that overtook her face could not be stopped.

"Jude!"

I'm going to Switzerland next week guys! I'll try to update before then (I leave Thursday and get back Thursday). My cousins live there and I can't wait to go! Wow do I need to pack…

I have so many ideas for my Stef/Callie story. Question―should the other kids be in it? Or should it be limited to Stef/Callie/Lena. Let me know!

I should probably go do some homework *sigh*

Please review! Let me know what you want to see and what not ;)
