Autumn Leaves
November 2009
Almost overnight the leaves on the trees had turned varying shades of gold. Large heaps formed a carpet, that crunched under the feet. Autumn was officially here, and it came with a cold wind that bit the cheeks of the little family walking through the forest.
A four year old boy with brown hair and eyes, bundled up in a thick coat and hat kicked his way happily through the leaves, enjoying the destruction of natures neat little hills. Another boy, a year younger, already with his father's green eyes, chased after him, already eager to impress.
Harry and Ginny walked together, arm in arm. Harry was carrying one-year-old Lily on his shoulders: she had grown tired earlier in the walk (designed mainly to prevent the boys from destroying the house in boredom) and insisted that daddy carry her.
"Look daddy, look what I can do!" James cried from a pile of leaves. He grabbed a handful of red and gold and threw them into the air. Instead of floating to the ground however, the leaves hovered above his head for a few seconds, before falling like confetti.
The young parents clapped with pride, while Albus begged his older brother to teach him the trick.
"He's going to be a brilliant wizard some day," Ginny sighed, leaning her head against Harry's shoulder, as they watched their boys wreak havoc upon the leaves.
Harry nodded. He looked down at his wife, her red hair spilling out of her green Holyhead Harpies hat, cheeks red with the cold. Almost reading his mind, Ginny reached up to kiss him.
The kiss would have happily lasted forever if a leafy missile hadn't hit Ginny in the back.
"That's gross!" James shouted at them from twenty metres away, too far for the handful of leaves to have reached them without a little help.
"Right, you started it," Ginny shouted, whipping out her wand and sending a large pile of leaves in their direction. It hit James squarely in the chest, and a massive leaf fight ensued between the mother and two boys.
Harry didn't join in. He had his little girl on his shoulders. Instead he reached into his pocket for the old camera he had shoved in there at the last minute. This was something he wanted to remember.

Well, I'm back! Any of you who read my other fanfic will know that I have basically been overloaded with school work, exams, and for the past few months, uni applications. Still... a year is a long time, so my apologies.
As mentioned before this is for Hinny ship week over on tumblr. Where I live right now it's suddenly got really cold and windy and I've been feeling a bit autumnal hence the theme of this chapter.
Thanks to everyone who has read, reviewed, favourited and followed this fic/me in the last year. You're all awesome and I love you.
