"Wha-" I stopped him.
"We're friends. That kiss was just to see if we loved eachother as siblings, friends or lovers." I said, walking past them and into the kitchen.
"And?" Bella said. I smiled at her.
"You really like him, don't you?" I asked. She blushed.
"Tell me." She pleaded.
"Calm donw. Don't have a cow. We 're BFFE's." I said.
"BFFE's?" She asked. I smiled.
"Best Friends For Eternity." I said. She smiled, but I could tell she was screaming on the inside.
"So, you and Jake are love eachother?" Dad asked. I nodded.
"Yes, but as Friends." I said. I looked at Dad.
"I had to know. I had to know if I could love him more than a friend. I didn't want to drag him or lead him on, letting him think I loved him more than a friend when I'm still inlove with HIM." I said.
"It wouldn't be fair to Jakie or him." I said.
"Or you. Sweetie, I am so proud of you. You didn't let HIM (Growl) break you down." He said.
"I couldn't have done without Jakie, Bella, Mom or you Dad." I said.
"We only chered you on. You did it all on your own. You could have just kept to yourself, but you didn't. You picked yourself up and kept going. You should be proud of yourself." He said. I smiled.
"Thanks Dad." I said.
I was staying with Mom and Phil for winter break, deciding if I wanted to make in permanent. Ofcourse I loved staying with my father, but every where I look, I am reminded of HIM and my heart breaks all over again.
Phil, Mom and I were outside, laying in the snow.
"I can't believe you're leaving in two days." Mom said. I smiled, taking her hand in mine.
"Mom, I've been here for a month. Arn't you tired of me by now?" I asked. She touched my cheek.
"You're my baby girl. I could never grow tired of you." She said. I smiled as she kissed my hair.
Phil sighed.
"Well, I have." He joked. I smiled. I then scooped up some snow in my hand and three it at him, hitting him square in the face. I luahged out loud with mom.
"Oh, this is war!" He yelled. I screamed and jumped to my feet.
We played out in the snow for another three hours before heading inside for hot coco.
"Do you still love him?" Phil asked me, as we sat on the sofa, me in the middle.
"Yes." I said.
"Do you think you'll ever be able to love someone else?" He asked. I smiled thinking of Jakie.
"I already do." I said.
"You do?" He and mom asked.
"Yup." I said.
"Who?" Mom asked.
"Jacob Black. He's my best friend, but I do love him. Not the way I loved HIM, but love none the less." I said.
"That's great." Phil said. I smiled.
Edward P.O.V.
My family and I had moved back to Forks a few weeks ago. Alice had a vision of Bella on the phone with Charlie, telling him Elizabeth had decided to stay in Arizona with her mother and her step dad Phil.
"I don't want to stay here if Tessa's not here." Rosalie said.
"It's better for her is she doesn't see us." Carlisle said. Rosalie groaned.
'I wish I could see her. I miss her.' She thought.
I missed Elizabeth more than anything in this world. I would do anything to see her face again, to hold her in my arms and never let go, but I knew that would never happen. I'd destroyed any faith she'd had in me. Two months ago, Alice had a vision of Bella, watching her and Jacob Black sharing a kiss, and her telling him she loved him. She'd moved on. To make things worse, he was a shape shifter, a new one at that.
"We start school tommarro. Everyone will be wondering what we're doing back for." Alice said. I sighed.
"We'll just tell them Carlisle was offered his old job back." I said, before making my way up to my old room.
Tessa P.O.V.
"Hey sweetie, are you home yet?" Mom asked me.
"I'm almost there. I'm two blocks away." I said, turning onto our street.
"Well, tell your sister and your father I said hello and that I love them." She said. I smiled.
"Okay, I will." I said.
"I love you sweetie." She said.
"I love you too mom." I said.
"I love you!" I hear Phil yell through the phone. Mom and I laughed.
"I love you too Dad." I said, calling him dad for the first time. I then hung up the phone.
"Tessa, sweetie, you're back." Dad yelled, rushing up to me, pulling me into a tight embrace. I smiled as I hugged him back.
"Ofcourse I'm back. Who's going to relieve you of the Isabella and Jacob Romance?"I joked. He laughed.
"They really do care for eachother, though I could tell Jacob really missed you. He's very protective of you lately." He said. I smiled.
"I missed him too, all of you." I said.
"So, do you want to go to school, or stay home?" He asked. I smiled.
"I think I'm going to go to school. I don't want to miss anything, then have to make it up." I said. He kissed my hair.
"I'll see you later then." He said. I kissed his cheek, then left.
School doesn't start for another thirty minutes, but hey. It's better to be early, than to be late. Once I pulled into the student parking lot, I grabbed my bag, and stepped out of the car and searched for Isabella. I spotted her leaning against her truck, hand in hand with Jakie. I smiled and made my way towards them.
"I guess everyone just forgot about the younger Swan." I said, putting my hand on my hip. The both of them spun around to the sound of my voice. Their eyes widened.
"Tessa!" Bella screamed.
"Izzy!" Jacob yelled. I smiled.
"Bella! Jakie!" I mimiced. They smiled and pulled me into a hug.
"We're so glad you're back. A lots happened." Bella said. I smiled, pulling away.
"I know. I can see." I said. The both of them blushed.
"So, does this mean I can't tell Jakie I love him anymore?" I asked.
"No! You can tell him whenever you want. I find nothing wrong with that." Bella said. I chuckled softly.
"Bella, I was joking." I said. She blushed.
"Oh." She said. Jacob then looked at Bella.
"I have to get going, but I'll see you after school." He said.
"Okay." She said, before he kissed her. He then turned to me, pulling me into a tight embrace.
"I missed you." He said.
" I missed you too." I said, hugging him back.
"I thought I'd lost you." He said.
"I'm not going anywhere." I said. He then pulled away and kissed my cheek and part of my lips.
"I love you." He said. I smiled.
"I love you too." I said.
"See you later." He said.
"See you later." I said, before he hopped on his bike. Once he pulled out of the parking lot, I turned to Bella.
"You guys make a cute couple." I said. She blushed.
"Thank you." She said.
"Even though I don't like him, you guys made a beautiful couple." She said. I smiled.
"Yeah." Was all I said. Suddenly the school bell rang, so we made our way towards the building. Before we entered the building, Bella gasped from beside me. I looked at her.
"Bella, what is it?" I asked. She was staring at something to my left, so I turned to see what it was.
They were back. All of them. They were staring at me in shock, with their mouths slightly hanging open. My heart broke at the sight of him, but I held my ground. He was staring at me, his eyes filled with pain.
"Lets get to class ladies and gentalmen." One of the teachers yelled out. With one last look at them, I smiled, gave them a short nod, and walked inside with Bella.
"Tessa." Bella called out. I looked up at my sister. Tears were threatening to fall.
"Oh Tessa." She said, pulling me into a hug. I pushed back my tears, and pulled away, forcing a smile.
"I'm fine. Seeing him again just- I'll be fine. I'm not going to let them destroy all of my hard work of moving on." I said.
"'Have' you moved on?" Bella asked. I looked up at her.
"No. I still love him, I always will, but he doesn't know that." I said. She gently squeezed my hand.
"I'll be here if you need me." She said. I smiled.
Lunch had come quicker than expected and I was sitting with Angela, Eric, and Tyler. Bella knew I still didn't like Jessica, so she sat with her.
I was sitting at our table, laughing at what Tyler said, when I noticed Rosalie making her way towards our table. I looked up at her, and she stopped walking. She was staring at me, I guess trying to figure out if I want her near me.
She then turned around and made her way back to her table. I wanted to run and jump on her, to let her embrace me and beg her to never let go, but I couldn't. My head told me not to, though my heart was crying for me to.
"Would you like to talk to her?" Angela asked. I smiled at her.
"No." I said, softly.
This week had come and gone quicker than I thought. Today was friday, and Jakie was picking me up from school. Bella went to visit mom for the weekend.
I was walking out of the building, when I looked up and saw Rosalie coming my way. She was staring at the ground, but then she looked up. When she saw me, she turned around and headed back towards her car. I quickly rushed forward, after her.
"Rosalie." I called out. She stopped dead in her tracks, turning around to face me. She looked sad.
"Hey." She said, looking at the ground.
Suddenly I got angry when she wouldn't look at me, but I stayed calm. I had to convince them that I moved on.
"Hey." I replied back. She then looked up at me.
"How are you?" She asked.
"I'm doing great. You?" I asked.
"I miss you." She said. I swallowed the lump in my throat. I didn't exspect that.
"I'm sorry?" I said as a question.
"I should be the one apologizing. I hu-" She was interupeted by Jakie calling my name. I turned around, smiling.
"Jakie!" I screamed, runnig and jumping into his arms. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer. He inhailed my scent.
"I've missed you." I said.
"I've missed you too." He said. I pulled away, planting a quick kiss on his lips.
"I love you." He said. I smiled.
"I love you too." I said. I then climbed down from his embrace, and pulled him towards the Cullens.
"Jakie, these are the Cullens. This is Rosalie Hale, her twin Jasper Hale, Alice Cullen, Emmett Cullen, and Edward Cullen." I said.
"You guys, this is Jacob Black." I said, introducing everyone.
"Hello." The Cullens said. Jakie glare at them. I elbowed him in the ribs.
"Jakie." I warned. He sighed.
"Hello." He forced out. He then looked at me.
"We have to get going or we are going to miss our reservations." He said.
"We could always reschedual Jakie." I said.
"No. I have something special planned for tonite." He said. I smiled at him. I then hear someone growl. Most likely Edward. Jakie must be thinking about something he shouldn't.
"Jakie!" I snapped, punching him in the arm. I then snatched my hand back at the sound of something cracking. I looked down a my hand when I felt something wet dripping. Blood. I had bust open my hand.
"Izzy!" He said, worried. Growls ripped through the parking lot. Edward stepped forward, reaching for my hand. Jakie growled.
"I'm fine." I said, moving away from him. I could that it hurt him for me to move away, but I didn't care. He broke my heart. A far more worse pain.
"I just want to make sure nothings broken." He said, holding out his hand.
I looked at his hand, then up at him. I knew he wouldn't physically hurt me, but I still didn't want him to touch me. I hesitantly placed my hand in his, only for a bult of electricity to shoot through my body. A small gasp escaped his lips. He felt it. I pretended not to notice.
"So, leech, is it broken or not?" Jakie growled.
"Jacob." I warned, using his full name. He sighed.
"I apologize." He said through clentched teeth.
"Well, mutt, it's not broken, but sprained." HE snarled.
"Edward." I warned, looking up at him. His expression seemed to soften when I spoke his name.
"I'm sorry." He said, still staring at me.
"Carlisle should have a look at that." Alice suggested, hope in her eyes. Edward looked at me.
"I remember the way." I said. I then turned and looked at Jakie.
"I'll give you directions." I said. He glared at the Cullens, then looked at me.
"Lets go." He said. He wrapped his arm around my waist, and pulled me towards his bike.
The ride to the Cullens was amazing. The wind was in my hair and the cool air was against my skin. Jakie sped up, passing both cars. Since I had my cheek pressed against his back, I could see Edward staring at me as he drove. Instead of staring back, I gave him a small smile and lifted my head, and looked forward.
"Go faster!" I yelled at Jakie. And faster he went. He then slowed down to let them ahead.
By the time we pulled into the drive way, the Cullens were getting out of their cars. Once Jakie shut off the bike, he helped me down off of it, wrapping his arm around my waist.
"Looks like we will have to plan something another time." He said. I smiled softly.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"Don't be. Plus, I'll have you all to myself tonite. My dad and your dad are going out hunting." He said. I smiled.
"That's great." I said. I looked up and noticed the Cullens staring at me.
"Come on, lets get your hand checked out." He said, leading me towards them.
Once we ere inside, they called for Carlisle, who made his way out of the kitchen, with Esme at his side. Thier eyes widened at the sight of me.
"Tessa sweetie, what are you doing here?" Esme asked. I lifted my hand.
"I sprained my wrist punching Jakie." I said. She gasped.
"Lets take a lo-" Carlisle started, but stopped when I pulled away from him in reflex. I looked up at him.
"Sorry." I said. He gave me a soft smile.
"It's ok." He said.
He then led me into the dinnig room, where everyone else followed suit. He had me sit on the table, as he stood between my legs. After five minutes of complete silence, Carlisle spoke.
"How have you been?" He asked.
"How do you think she's been doing? Your son here bro-" Jakie started, but I stopped him.
"Jacob!" I snapped. He looked at me. I sighed.
"I'm ?" I asked.
"I'm doing good, thanks for asking." He said.
"How's Bella and Charlie?" He asked.
"Their great. Bella -"
"Hates you." Jacob snarled.
"Jacob, please." I said. He threw his hands up in surrender.
"She doesn't hate you." I said.
"I'd understand if she did." He said.
"I'd understand if you did too." He said. I looked up at him. He looked like he was in pain.
"I could never hate you Carlisle." I said. He looked up at me, into my eyes.
"I could never hate any of you." I said, looking at everyone.
It's been three months since I saw the Cullens again. I don't speak to them as much as I use to, but we speak none the less. Charlie was not happy about their return. Summer had come very quickly and I was greatful.
Bella and I were pulling into the drive way of our home, in Phenix, Arizona, with our mother and Phil.
"Dad, we're here." Bella said into the phone.
"Alright. I love you too." She said. She then looked at me.
"Dad says he loves you." She said.
"I love you too Dad." I yelled through the phone.
"Okay, bye Dad." Bella said before hanging up the phone. She then looked at me.
"Ready?" She asked. I smiled.
"Ready." I said.
We stepped ouf ot the car, gently shut the doors and quickly made our way to the door. Mom had no idea we were coming. Seh thought we were staying the summer with dad, but the three of us thought it would be good to surprise her with a month visit. Bella took out her key, unlocked the door, and we slowly made our way inside, shutting the door softly.
"What do you think the girls are doing?" Mom asked Phil.
"Bella's probably with Jake, and Tessa's probably walking around in the woods, enjoying nature." Phil said. I smiled at a blushing Bella.
We slowly made our way into the living room, making our way up behind them as they sat on the couch. Bella looked at me and counted to three on her fingers.
One, Two, Three!
"We're home!" We screamed, jumping over the couch and into their laps. I landed on Phil and Bella landed on Mom.
"Bella! Tessa!" Mom and Phil screamed. They pulled us into a hug.
"Oh My God! What are you two doing here?" They asked as we sat down in between them.
"We, including dad, thought it would be a good idea to spend a month of our summer with you and Phil." Bella said. Mom smiled.
