I slowly opened my eyes, slowly sitting up and stretching. I felt refreshed, like I had just woken up from a ten year sleep. I felt great, rested. I let out a yawn.
"What's everyone bickering about?" I asked, looking around at everyone.
"Tessa!" Bella screamed, pulling me into a tight embrace. I hugged her back.
"Woah. What's going on?" I asked.
"Tessa, sweetie, you've been asleep for a week." Dad said. I raised my brows in amazement.
"Well, that explains why I feel so rested." I said. He then pulled me into a hug.
"I was so worried about you. I'm glad you're alright." He said, pulling away.
"Sweetie, how do you feel?" Carlisle asked me.
"I feel great. It feels like I just woke up from a ten year sleep." I said. I then looked into his eyes. They were filled with pain and concern.
I threw my legs over the edge of the bed.
"Sweetie, what are you doing? You should stay in bed." Dad said.
"I've ben in bed for a whole week staright from what you've told me. I'm fine dad." I said.
I then let my feet hit the floor, only to stumble slightly. Carlisle cought me. I took that as my chance to hug him. I held onto him with all the stregnth I had in my body.
"I've missed you." I said. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around me, burrying his face in my shoulder.
"I've missed you too." He said. I then pulled away.
"Thank you, for saving my son." He said. I looked up at him.
"He's your son, and he has a family who loves him. I couldn't let you lose him." I said.
We were all now in the Cullen's living room, when there was a knock at the door. Esme went to answer it.
Jakie.
He rushed passed her, his eyes searching for me.
Once his eyes found me, he rushed over and yanked me off the couch and into his arms. He pulled me against his chest, knocking the wind out of me. I let out a gasped breath.
"Jacob, wha-" He pulled back and pressed his lips to mine, then wrapped his arms around my waist once more.
"I love you, so much. I was so worried about you." He said, his voice shaky. I pulled back and looked at him. My heart broke at what I saw.
Jacob was crying.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer, running my fingers through my hair.
"Jacob, I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt you or cause you to worry about me." I said, tears escaping my eyes. He pulled away, cupping my face in his hands.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again. Ever." He said, a tear falling. I leaned into his touch.
"I won't, I promise." I said. He let out a sigh of relief, a small smile forming on his lips.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded.
"Yeah. Alice, Rose and Edward kept me safe." I said. A snarl found its way from his lips. I gently stroked his forearm.
"Don't be upset with them. They-"
"Almost cost me your life." He snarled.
"No one made me go Jacob. I had to go, I had to stop him." I said.
"Why? He left you. You owe them nothing." He snapped. I flinched at his words.
"I loved him. I couldn't let them lose their son, their brother." I said. He let out an annoyed sigh.
"Why do you always have to be the one to save everyone?" He asked himself. I smiled softly.
"It's one of the reasons you love me." I said. He smiled softly.
"One of the 'many' reasons I love you." He said, kissing part of my lips and cheek. He then looked at a smiling Bella, making his way over, kissing her lips.
"She's as stubborn as you are." He said. She smiled.
"Tell me about it." She said. I then noticed Edward staring at me, pain clear in his eyes.
'I'm guessing he didn't like what just happened or how close Jacob and I really are.' I thought.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He seemed to grow confused.
"You could have been killed, and you're worried about me?" He asked, a hint of anger in his voice. I shrugged.
"Like Jakie said, I'm as stubborn as Isabella." I said.
"It's Bella." Bella growled. I smiled over at her.
" Bella, Ella, Smella." I taunted. She glared at me.
"Elizabeth." She said, smiling evily. I glared at her, murdering her with my eyes.
"It's Tessa, Ella." I snarled. Sher glared back.
"It's Bella, Essa." She snarled.
"Ella!"
"Essa!"
"Ella!"
"Essa!"
"Ella!"
"Essa!"
"Ella!"
"Es-"
"Girls!" Rosalie yelled. We glared at her.
"Really? You two are really going to stand here and argue about names after everything that just happened?" She gaped. Bella blushed while I continued to glare at Rosalie.
"Sorry." Bella said, lowering her head, blushing even red. Everyone then looked at me.
I crossed my arms across my chest, averting my eyes away from everyone.
"I'm sticking with Ella." I mummbled, but loud enough for everyone, including Bella, to hear.
"Oh My God! She has got to be the most stubborn being in the universe." Emmett boomed with laughter. A small smile formed on my lips, as I turned to him.
"I'm glad you're back." He said, rushing over and pulling me into a hug. I pulled away when I noticed dad was no where to be found.
"Where's dad?" I asked.
"Oh, he was called into the office. He said he'll be back later." Bella said. I nodded my head. I then looked at Edward, who was still staring at me with pain in his eyes. I took a few steps forward, stopping directly in front of him. He looked down at me.
"Can I talk to you, alone?" I asked. A growl sounded throughout the house.
"No!" Jacob growled. I turned around to see him being held back by Emmett.
" Jacob, calm down. Edward won't hurt me." I said.
"He already has." He snarled, glaring at Edward. I mentally flinched at the truth to his words.
"Physically." I said. He eyes turned towards me, his expression softening. He pulled out of Emmetts grip.
"Please, be careful. If you need me, just call, I'll hear you." He pleaded. I smiled.
"I will, I promise." I said. He then looked at Edward, his eyes pleading.
"Please look after her. Don't let anything happen to her. I'm asking you as someone who truely loves her, as a friend...as brother." He said. Everyone seemed shocked by his words.
"Jacob, if you don't mind me asking, why are you so protective of Tessa?" Carlisle asked. He looked at me, his expression serious.
"She's my Imprint." He said. Everyone, including Edward, gasped, except Bella.
"Yo- you imprinted on Tessa?" Alice and Rosalie gasped. He nodded.
"Yeah. A few months ago." He said.
"I love Tessa, very much and I will do everything in my power to keep her safe, but-"
"We've decided that after we shared our first kiss, that we couldn't love eachother as brothers and sisters, but as friends." I said, smiling over at him. He returned the smile.
"You 'Imprinted' on her!?" Edward asked, a hint of anger, hurt, and fear in his voice. I turned to him.
"Yes and there is nothing that can be done, so let it go." I said, rather harshly. He looked down at me, his eyes staring directly into mine. I sighed.
"Can we please go some where and talk?" I asked. He nodded. I stepped around him, making my way out the door, him following behind me. I walked into the forest, stopping when I knew we were far enough that his family could not hear what was about to be said.
I'd stopped when we reached our meadow. I don't think I spoke for like twenty minutes, I was to busy thinking about what I was going to say.
"Elizabeth, please. Say something." His voice sounded behind me. I turned around to look at him.
"I'll never let anybody hurt you." I said, looking into his eyes.
"Wha-"
"The Voltouri. I will never allow them or anyone else to hurt you, to take you from me. I can't." I said. He stepped closer, stopping directly infront of me.
"Elizabeth, you don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself." He said. I sighed, lowering my head.
"You mean to much to me. I can't risk anything." I said. A small smile formed on his lips.
"What?" I asked, looking at him.
"It's been centuries since I've had anyone worry about my safety." He laughed softly. Unconsiously, a smile formed on my lips, which then left my face.
"I never stopped loving you. As hard as I tried to, to forget you, to let you go, I couldn't." I said, looking up into his eyes.
He looked down at me, moving closer as I held his gaze.
"Can you honestly say you still love me?" He asked.
"There is nothing I've ever been so sure about in my life. I could never stop loving you, even after everything that's happened." I said. He lifted his hand to the left side of my face, resting his palm on my cheek.
"I'm so sorry for hurting you. I never meant to hurt you the way I did. I just wanted to keep you safe and I thought leaving was the best option for you." He said. I leaned into his touch.
" As much as I understand your actions, my heart still broke when I found out about your departure. I'd never felt such pain, but I can never blame you for why you did it." I said. He seemed to move closer, leaving not much space between us.
"I know I have no right to ask but, do you think you could find it in your heart to forgive me?" He asked, looking down at me.
A small smile seemed to find it's way on my lips.
" I forgave you the the moment I woke up and found that you were still here." I said, truthfully. A smile crept onto his lips.
"Thank you." He said, his smile slowly leaving his face.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I promise I will never do anything to hurt you again." He said. His expression was twisted up in pain and regret. It broke my heart to see him like this, so I did something that shocked up both. I stood on my toes, leaning my head up, my lips moving towards his. After what seemed like forever, my lips met his causing a bult of electricity to run down my spine and Edward to stiffen. I then pulled away, lowering my head so that my forhead was pressed to his chin.
"Um, we should head inside." I said, turning away. Before I could take another step, he took hold of my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. I looked down at his hand, then up at him.
"Edw-"
He moved closer, gently moving his free hand to the back of my neck, pulling me up on my toes and crashing his lips down onto mine. I wrapped my arms aound his neck and pulled him clser, closing whatever space that was left between us. He snaked his arms around my waist, pulling up and off my feet so that I was leveled with him. He slowly pulled away, despite my liking.
I groaned.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he set me down on my feet and kissed my hair.
"Don't sound so disappointed. If you'd like, we can stay in my room tonight." He said. I looked up at him, his eyes filled with hope.
"If you don't want to be with me, I'd understa-"
"I love you, Edward, never forget that." I said.
"Just because you love someone, doesn't mean you want to be with them." He said, his voice stained with hurt. I leaned up and pressed my lips to his, then pulled away.
"I love you. I want to be with you tonight. I want you to hold me in your amrs and never let go." I said, looking into his eyes.
"I love you too. Forever and Always." He said, kissing my lips.
"Edward, promise me. Promise me you will never leave me again, no matter WHAT happens." I said. He looked down into my eyes.
"I promise I will never hurt or leave your side again. I will stay at your side for eternity." He said. I smiled.
"Good. Now, lets get inside." I said. He took my hand and moved towards the mouth of the forest.
The moment we walked through the door, I was pulled into a deathly hug.
Jacob.
I let out a soft laugh as his arms tightened around my waist.
"Jacob, I'm fine. I'm not harmed." I said, smiling.
He pulled away, cupping my face in his massive hands, kissing my fore head.
His eye everted behind me.
"Thank you, for keeping your promise." He said, looking at Edward. He then moved towards him, taking my hand in his, leading me towards him.
"I owe you Cul- Edward. I would like to call a truce." He said, holding out his hand.
Gasps filled the room as a smile found its way on my face. Edwards eyes widened, but he reached out and took Jakes hand. I watched the two of the most important men in my life shake hands, a smile playing on their lips. Absentmidely, I threw my arms around Jakes neck, burying my face in his neck. I then pulled back and kissed his neck.
"Thank you." I said, smiling. I then climbned down from his embrace, and turned to Edward. Squealing, I ran and jumped into his arms, my body slaming against his cold yet warm, hard, yet soft, pale body. I wrapped my arms around his neck, tightening my grip on him.
"Thank you." I whispered, kissing his cool neck. He shudddered beneath my touch.
I smiled at the fact that I had an effect on him.
