"Hedgehog and Fox, I'd like to introduce you to, the Egg Beater Mark 3!" Eggman said with joy.
"Oh no, this isn't good," Sonic said.
"That's right my soon to be servant. The Mark 3 is a remake of the original, but a lot more effective, I'll be even arrogant enough to say it can even handle your super form, unfortunately for you. Two of the seven Chaos Emeralds are still in the special zone. G.U.N. has control of two as well. That oversized oaf Mammoth Mogul has the one as well as that pest Ixis Naugus. And the last one is in my possession, hidden somewhere where you would never find it. Unless you have an ace up your sleeve Sonic, you don't stand a chance," the Egg Beater took a step forward towards them. "Are you ready to play Sonic?"
"I guess this wouldn't be a final showdown if the obstacle was easy for the hero!" Sonic said. Eggman held up Mecha Sally's body that was in the Egg Beaters hand.
"Even a weaponized Mecha Sally didn't stand a chance," Eggman said as he threw her body at Sonic's feet. Tails ran over to inspect her while Sonic took a few steps towards Eggman's battle suit.
"Sonic, she is offline and missing a left arm. I'll try to bring her back up, we will need all the help we can get," Tails said. Sonic nodded as he got ready for battle. Eggman laugh as the Egg Beater began to spin the ball around.
"Alright, it's time to crack that egg wide open!" Sonic said as he ran towards the Egg Beater. He dodged the first throw of the wrecking ball and made his way around to the back and attempted a spin dash. The Egg Beater quickly turned and blocked with the shield. Sonic landed on his feet and the Egg Beater brought around the ball. Sonic ran up the side of the wall and came back down with a kick. That too was deflected by the shield. He duck as the wrecking ball almost hit him. "Whoa that was a close one,"
"What's the matter Sonic? Am I too fast for you?" Eggman said. Sonic dodged another swing by Eggman and then disappeared. Eggman searched the room for Sonic.
"Are you too fast for me?" Sonic said as he stood on top of the Egg Beater. Eggman growled as Sonic laughed at him.
"Don't toy with me hedgehog, this is my zone and the rules are anything goes!" Eggman said as the Egg Beater raised the wrecking ball. He began to bring it down upon Tails and Mecha Sally. Sonic quickly dashed down and kicked the ball off course. As it slammed into the wall Sonic ran up the chain and spin dashed Eggman's cockpit. "Nice try, everything on here has been reinforced to handle the strength of Knuckles good luck even making a scratch!"
"That won't stop me from trying," Sonic said as he dodged a swing by the Egg Beater's shield and landed behind the Egg Beater. The Egg Beater spun around and threw that ball at Sonic, he jumped into the air to dodge it but was smack down to the ground by the shield. As the ball came down again Sonic jumped to his feet and jumped into the air again, the Egg Beater made a swipe at Sonic with the shield but he rolled off of it spin dashed the Egg Beater's chest, attempting to knock it off balance. He landed a few feet away from it.
"Man, that's tough," Sonic said as he scratched his head.
"Is this all you've got Sonic? I expected a little more, after all this is the final showdown. You should be giving me all you've got!"
"What's the point of a final showdown if I end it before it begins?" Sonic said mockingly. He held out his arms and motioned for Eggman to attack him. Eggman smiled as he pressed a button, a moment later about a dozen missiles headed towards Sonic. He jumped into the air attempting to avoid them, when he looked down he saw a few hit the ground while others managed to turn in his direction. He spin dashed through a few landing back on the ground. He quickly dashed to the side avoiding the remaining incoming missiles. They all impacted the ground and exploded. "Heat seeking, is that all you've got?"
"Not bad Sonic, but how about this!" Eggman said and the Egg Beater threw the shield at Sonic. Sonic ducked as the shield bounced off the wall behind him. The Egg Beater grabbed the shield once more and threw it at Sonic. He dodged it again as it rebounded off the wall and back at the Egg Beater.
"I thought this was going to be a fight, not a Frisbee throwing competition," Sonic said as the Egg Beater prepared for another throw. Sonic rushed in before he got the chance and spin dashed at Eggman. The Egg Beater brought up the shield and knocked Sonic out of the way. Sonic landed on his feet and ran back over to Tails. "Hey buddy, I'm getting a little fatigued here. Is she up and running yet?"
"Yeah, she's up. I'm just repairing a few things," Tails said. Sonic turned to Eggman to see he was spinning the wrecking ball. Tails clapped his hands. "Alright she's done!"
"Nice bro, you got her working pretty quick," Sonic said and Mecha Sally stood up.
"It would have been tougher if Eggman was a superior engineer to me," Tails said smiling. "Sally, how are you feeling?"
"I seem to be running at seventy-three percent. I'll help with what I can, but don't expect much," she said as she drew her blade from her right arm. The trio stood ready for Eggman's next attack.
"So you managed to get the traitor back online. Good job, I'll make sure to destroy her properly this time!" Eggman said as the Egg Beater brought the wrecking ball around. The three scattered as they began to fight. Tails flew above the Egg Beater as Sonic's spin dash was deflected by the shield. Tails flew quickly down towards the front of Eggman' cockpit and hit it with his tails. Eggman ignored the hit and continued to with blocking Sonic's attacks. Mecha Sally brought a blade down on the cockpit but it did little damage. Sonic ran around the Egg Beater's legs trying to confuse Eggman, while Tails and Mecha Sally continued their random and continuous attack on the Egg Beater.
"There isn't any weakness, we can't stop him," Tails said as he dodged a shield swing. Sonic out ran another wrecking ball swing as Mecha Sally attacked the cockpit.
"There has got to be a weakness, he always builds these things with errors," Sonic said. Tails landed next to Sonic as Mecha Sally continued to circle around Eggman. "Tails sit back for a while and try to figure out how we can take out Eggman. We can't just keep throwing ourselves at him,"
"You're right, this isn't getting us anywhere. I'll look for a weakness or something, just make sure he doesn't swing at me," Tails said. Sonic nodded and rushed off after the Egg Beater. Eggman swung the wrecking ball in Sonic's direction only for it to be deflected by Mecha Sally. She came down at Eggman with the blades but he quickly brought up the Egg Beaters shield to block. As she held his shield, Sonic spin dashed the joint connecting the arm to the shield. Eggman smacked Me00cha Sally out of the sky with the shield.
"Nice try Sonic, but that won't work, you'll have to try something else!" Eggman said as the Egg Beater hit Sonic with the wrecking ball. He slammed into the wall hard and tumbled down to the floor. The Egg beater spun the wrecking ball in the air for a moment before bringing down towards Sonic, but before it could hit Mecha Sally sliced though the chain connected to the ball. The ball dropped a few feet away from Sonic.
"Whoa that was closer then I'm used to," Sonic said as Mecha Sally landed next to him. Eggman growled as the Egg Beater threw the chain to the ground.
"Oh well, looks like I'm doing this the old fashion way," Sonic smiled as he walked towards the Egg Beater. He dodged the first punch thrown and jumped on the arm. He then ran up the arm and stopped at Eggman's cockpit.
"Eggman, be a good sport and tell me how to defeat this thing. I want to get along with my day. We are going nowhere here,"
"You're not going anywhere Sonic, you'll tire eventually. Now hold still!" The Egg Beater tried to grab Sonic but he moved out of the way and ran over to Tails who was inspecting the wrecking ball that Mecha Sally had cut lose.
"Yo Tails. Figured out something?" he asked. Tails stood up and scratched his head.
"I have an idea, I need Mecha Sally for it thought," he said. Sonic nodded.
"Gotcha bro," he said as he sped back to the Egg Beater. He dodged another attack and ran up the side of the wall towards Mecha Sally. "Hey, Tails needs your help. I'll keep the big egg busy,"
"Okay, be careful," Mecha Sally said as Sonic jumped on the front of the Egg Beater's cockpit. He knocked on the glass repeatedly in an attempt to anger Eggman. Mecha Sally flew over to Tails, and landed behind him.
"Mecha Sally, can you lift this?" he asked. Mecha Sally examined it for a few seconds before responding.
"I can lift this with minimal difficulty. What do you need me to do with it?"
"I want you to grab what's left of the chain and throw it at the Egg Beater, if I'm correct this should be tough enough to damage the Egg Beater," he explained. Mecha Sally walked over to the chain and picked it up. She began to slowly spin around the ball followed behind her as she spun. After a few seconds Sally and the wrecking ball became a blur as she spun faster and faster. Tails flew off into the sky as she continued to spin the ball. "Sonic move out of the way!"
"What's up bro?" Sonic asked as he ducked an attack from the Egg Beater.
"Just move Sonic, now!" Tails shouted. Sonic looked around for a second and saw Mecha Sally, he smiled.
"Well, that's my invitation to leave!" he said and he dashed from the Egg Beater. Eggman with a look of confusion on his face turned around to see Tails in the air.
"What are they planning?" he said as he looked around to room. His gaze finally arrived on Mecha Sally as she released the wrecking ball. "Egad!"
"Incoming!" Tails yelled as the ball collided with the Egg Beater sending it crashing into the wall. The entire Death Egg shook as the Egg Beater fell to the ground. The ball rolled away from the Egg Beater revealing a dent in the middle. Sonic let out a whistle.
"That was tight!" he said. Tails flew down and gave Sonic a high five. "I think we've found its weakness,"
"Good lord, what happened?" Eggman asked as the Egg Beater got back to its feet.
"I believe you were hit by your own weapon," Snivley said as his face appeared on the screen in front of Eggman. "You haven't suffered any serious damage but there is a large dent in the front of the Egg Beater,"
"That's it, I've had enough. As much as I enjoy toying with you Sonic, I think it's time I stopped playing around," As he said this, the Egg Beater's shield thinned out to make a long cylinder type pole. The Egg Beater then grabbed the wrecking ball, removed the chain and attached it to the pole. A click could be heard and the wrecking ball was connected to a new chain. The Egg Beater released the ball and allowed it to fall to the ground. "I've come very prepared for this Sonic, are you ready?"
"Sure bring it on, now we only have to deal with the new mace of yours. That is if you're fast enough to hit me," Sonic said. As they prepare to fight again, a dark eruption of energy came from the center of the room.
"What now?" Tails said as the energy began to fade. As the dark energy began to retract itself upon a single source, Eggman sighed as he realized that Doctor Finitevus had appeared in the room. Everyone remained silent as Finitevus looked around the room. He smiled as he turned to Sonic and Tails.
"I hope I'm not interrupting something," he said walking over to Sonic. "It is nice to see you again Sonic,"
"I wish I could say the same for you, why are you here?" Sonic said. Doctor Finitevus ignored the question and turned to Eggman.
"Eggman, it's nice to see you as well. What is the name of this tin can you have built? Probably something with the word Egg in it,"
"What do you want Finitevus? This doesn't concern you,"
"That's true. We haven't seen you in sometime. Why have you shown up here?" Sonic asked.
"I have heard that you have captured the guardian of the Master Emerald, well in his absence Mammoth Mogul has taken it upon himself to become the guardian of the Master Emerald. I need Knuckles to help me retrieve it,"
"As much as I'd like to care, I don't" Eggman said. "You'll have to find someone else get it for you, and besides. Knowing you, you'll try to transform him into that Enerjak creature. Which would spell disaster for my plans, so the answer is no,"
"Though that is a fantastic idea Eggman, I do not need him for that. With the mammoth in possession of the Master Emerald he can do whatever he decides to do, once he figures out how to use it. Do you really want a telepathic genius with that kind of power?"
"A telepathic genius I can deal with, Enerjak I cannot," said Eggman as the Egg Beater swung his mace at Finitevus. He jumped to the side as the mace impacted the ground. The Egg Beater brought the mace up again and threw at Finitevus once more. Finitevus opened a large warp ring that the mace went through. Another one opened above the Egg Beater, as Eggman looked up the mace came crashing down on the Egg Beater's head. Eggman growled as he balanced the Egg Beater and went for another attack. Finitevus dodged the next two mace swings and used a warp ring to catch the third attack, sending it into the back of the Egg Beater. Knocking it off its feet, he then concentrated his chaos energy to open a warp ring of greater size. The Egg Beater fell through the ring and appeared again at the top of the room. The Egg Beater came crashing to the ground, the impact was enough to shake the entire Death Egg.
"Whoa, wish I knew how to do that," Sonic said. Doctor Finitevus sighed.
"Please Doctor Eggman. I did not come here to fight you. Just had over Knuckles and I'll leave you to Sonic," Eggman raised the Egg Beater back to its feet and then contacted Snivley.
"Snivley, send Shadow here. Doctor Finitevus will prove to be a problem,"
"Right away sir," Snivley said.
"Eggman, this is your last chance. Stop attacking me or I will destroy this contraption of yours and leave you to the hedgehog. Based on what you've done to his city, I think that is the last thing you would want," Finitevus waited for Eggman to respond. Eggman laughed while the Egg Beater began to spin the mace. Finitevus gritted his teeth, he held up his hands and black chaos energy began to flow over them. "I'll take it that you won't hand Knuckles over to me?"
"You'd be correct, now stand out of my way while I destroy Sonic," Eggman said as the Egg Beater walked past Finitevus. He growled as he used his chaos power to grasp the Egg Beaters legs and tripped the giant battle suit.
"Do not ignore me!" Finitevus said as he engulfed the Egg Beater is his dark chaos energy, but before he could act he was hit in the back with an attack. As he turned around he saw Shadow standing in the center of the room. He turned to Shadow and smiled.
"Shadow, stop him at all costs, now!" Eggman shouted as he tried to get the Egg Beater on its feet again. Shadow nodded and dashed towards Finitevus, as he prepared to attack Finitevus opened a wrap ring in front of Shadow. As he fell in, Finitevus closed the ring behind him. "What did you just do, where did he go?"
"He's currently falling from the Death Egg as we speak, he should survive the fall but he won't be coming back here as I have negated his ability to use chaos control temporarily," Doctor Finitevus wrapped himself in his cape and walked closer to Eggman. "You have wasted my time long enough, give me Knuckles or I will tear through this entire ship looking for him," Finitevus said, Eggman thought for a moment before he pressed a few buttons in front of him. A door way opened in front of Finitevus, Eggman gestured for him to go through.
"Be my guest, Snivley please show Finitevus to Knuckles," Eggman said. Snivley's face showed up on the screen in front of him.
"Are you sure?" he asked. Eggman smiled and nodded.
"Yes, I do not wish for Doctor Finitevus he destroy my ship. So give him Knuckles so he can leave," Eggman gave Snivley the thumbs up, Snivley too started to smile as he nodded and disconnected from the screen. "Snivley will show you to Knuckles, I have locked them up in a room which blocks all outside communication, even ones of a chaos origin. So please, go get Knuckles. And stay out of my way,"
"As you wish. But next time, when I tell you to move, you better do it," Finitevus said as he walked into the doorway. The door quickly closed behind him and was covered by metal once again. Eggman turned his attention to Sonic and the others.
"Shall we continue?" Eggman said. Sonic smiled.
"Of course," he said bowing. "Tails, let's give it our all,"
"Right!" he said as his suit appeared on his body. Sonic ran at the Egg Beater, as he approach it raised its hand and smacked Sonic away. Tails flew in next dodging the mace swing and the following punch. As he came in for an attack the Egg Beater jumped backwards and swung the mace again at Tails. Sonic spin dashed the arm holding the mace knocking the weapon off course. Mecha Sally was about to attack before she noticed something. Tails and Sonic ran around the Egg Beater as Eggman swung the mace around attempting to him them. Tails was knocked out of the sky by the mace and landed on the ground below Mecha Sally. Sonic was about to run over to him but the mace hit him in the back sending him into a wall, as Sonic fell to the ground Eggman turned his attention to Mecha Sally.
"Well Mecha Sally, what now? Are you going to watch as I destroy your friends?" he said as they stared at each other. "How could you betray me, after all I've given you? I gave you power, I gave you a nice place to live, I even gave you free will,"
"That was your first and most dangerous mistake," she replied. "Even without it I knew that was a stupid idea. If you were as smart as you claimed to be you would have known that it was a stupid idea. Giving Metal Sonic free will was one thing, but giving it to me. A former Mobian was the biggest mistake you could have made,"
"Silence traitor!" Eggman shouted.
"The truth hurts doesn't it Eggman," Tails said as he got to his feet. "Sally is right. You gave a machine that had lived life as a living being free will. If I'm not mistaken you gave the first Metal Sonic free will once, and he eventually turned on you to help us,"
"I'm sure if you had given Sonic free will while he was roboticized this would have ended sooner," Mecha Sally said. Eggman growled with anger.
"Enough, it doesn't matter now. The only thing that matters now is your defeat!" he said as the Egg Beater raised the mace. Mecha Sally suddenly flew out of the sky and brought her blade across the chain that held the mace, it quickly dropped on the cockpit of the Egg Beater, cracking the glass. She then sliced through the right leg of the Egg Beater. The leg fell off causing the Egg Beater to fall over on its side. She then cut a big X across the chest of the Egg Beater. When she jumped back Sonic jumped to his feet and spin dashed into the cut and out the back off the Egg Beater. The machine exploded sending Eggman flying into the sky. He soon landed on his backside as the pieces of the Egg Beater fell around him. Sonic and Tails walked over to Eggman laughing as he quickly jumped to his feet. "What just happened!?"
"Beats me doc, Sally attacked so I just followed her lead," Sonic said as Mecha Sally landed next to him.
"Doctor Finitevus' dark chaos energy weakened your suits durability. He did this unintentionally. This happened due to your suits design, you didn't just rebuild the Egg Beater, you infused chaos energy into to give it an edge," Mecha Sally explained. "Your suit's chaos energy was dissolved and over powered by the abundance of Finitevus' energy. Similar to how parasites infect a host and destroy it from the inside, but it you're case the outer shell of the Egg beater was destroyed,"
"That seems to make sense," Sonic said. Eggman hung his head.
"How do you keep defeating me, I thought I had planned for everything," Eggman said. Sonic poked him on the head.
"He now's not the time, you need to tell us where are friends are," Sonic said. Eggman looked up at Sonic.
"Why would I ever tell you? Go find them yourself!" he said with anger. Sonic sighed.
"I'm trying to be the nice guy here Eggman, you know as well as I do that our friends all want to get their hands on you. Help me out a little bit and maybe they will go easy on you," Sonic said. Tails and Mecha Sally looked at each other as Sonic tried to negotiate with Eggman.
"No good luck finding them yourself," Eggman said, Sonic scratched his head.
"Fine, suit yourself, but at least be a good sport and keep your sanity. I don't want to see you ripping out your mustache again," Sonic turned to Mecha Sally. "Would be so kind as to cut open a door for us?" he asked. Mecha Sally walked over to the area where Finitevus enter and cut out a door way.
"You two go and get everyone, I will keep an eye on him," Mecha Sally said. Sonic and Tails nodded as they walked through the doorway.
"Make sure you keep him warm!" Sonic said jokingly as Tails and he ran off.
Doctor Finitevus followed Snivley around the ship as they head towards where Eggman kept all of his prisoners. They stepped onto another elevator and further descended into the Death Egg.
"Where is it, I do not have all day," Doctor Finitevus said impatiently.
"We're almost on the last floor, please keep your cape on," Snivley said. Finitevus quickly snatched him by his neck and slammed him into the wall.
"Watch your tongue when addressing me. I am not that fat excuse for an uncle of yours. I will not tolerate disrespect!" he said. Snivley slowly nodded his head. Finitevus let him go as Snivley rubbed his neck. When they reached the bottom floor Finitevus was the first to walk out. He looked around but saw nothing but another door. "Is Knuckles in there?" he asked. Snivley typed in a few buttons on his wrist and the door lit up.
"Yes, allow me to disengage the lock," he said as they walked closer to the door. A few moments later the door slowly began to open and revealed to Finitevus a room of darkness. He took a step in and looked around.
"Where are the lights?" he said. Snivley pressed another button on his wrist and a red ring began to glow in the middle in the darkness. Before Finitevus could react the ring shot through the darkness and latched itself onto Finitevus' waist. As he tried to remove it his black chaos energy could be seen being sucked into the ring. Finitevus fell to his knees as his last remaining energy left his body. Snivley walked over to him laughing.
"Lights out doctor, Eggman will deal with you later," Snivley said. Finitevus looked up at Snivley.
"What have you done to me?" he said in a weak voice, his vision began to blur as he began to lose consciousness.
"These are Red Ring Inhibitors, or Egg Rings as my uncle likes to call them. It drains you of all of your chaos energy and transfers it into the ring. It was very useful detaining Shadow, however I wasn't sure what it would do to you, as user of dark chaos energy," Snivley picked up Finitevus onto his shoulders and carried him over to the elevator. "I'll keep you somewhere safe until things clear up. You'll be very useful when I want to take over the Egg Empire,"
"You're going to pay," Finitevus said as he slipped away. Snivley laughed as the elevator doors closed. Meanwhile Doctor Eggman was looking over his destroyed Egg Beater with frustration, he sighed as he turned to Mecha Sally.
"How does he keep beating me!" he yelled. "No matter what I plan or how much things are tipped into my favor, he always wins!"
"Your luck was bound to run out eventually," Mecha Sally said. Eggman clinched a fist to her.
"I don't want your opinion you traitor," Eggman said. He turned his back to her and continued with his banter. "I didn't survive all these times by luck. I survive because I am the strongest. I am the smartest, and not to mention good looking. But this still doesn't make any sense! I've accounted for everything that could have possibly happen. You're betrayal, his de-roboticization, and more importantly his embodiment of chaos,"
"You cannot plan for chaos, it is an unpredictable force. You may have predicted all possible outcomes. However you cannot predict an unpredictable variable. You didn't predict the arrival of Doctor Finitevus did you?" Eggman waved off Mecha Sally's explanation and laughed.
"It doesn't matter, the cycle with resume sooner or later," he said confidently.
"What cycle, what are you talking about?" Mecha Sally asked. Eggman turned to her with a big smile on his face.
"You know as much as I do, you'll put me in your little jail. I'll get free and we start our little charade all over again until one of us cannot continue," Eggman said as he went walked over to Mecha Sally. She glared at him for a moment while she thought about his statement.
"You're right. This has been an ongoing cycle, even with Robotnik Prime," Eggman laughed and turned around.
"That's right, even when I lost my humanity. I came back and we started all over again!" Eggman said as he laughed. Mecha Sally slowly started to move towards him.
"So the only thing that would end this would be your death or ours," Eggman nodded.
"That is correct," he said. He noticed Mecha Sally walking over to him. He took a few steps back as she approached. "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to end this now," She said. Eggman gasped as she shoved him on the ground. "Goodbye Eggman,"
