The screen went dark as Mecha Sally unplugged herself from the computer. Vance stared at the screen for a moment as he processed what Mecha Sally just showed him. She walked back into the room with a Vance and stood next to him as he continued to stare at the screen.
"So was that when you killed Eggman?" He asked. Mecha Sally nodded.
"Yes, that was when I decided to kill him. There is more video in my memory but I don't want to view it again,"
"So what happened after you killed him?" Vance turned to look at her.
"Shortly after, Sonic and Tails came back into the room. Apparently they found the room that was supposed to hold all of our friends, but Snivley warned them that opening the door without Eggman's password would detonate all of the explosives on the Death Egg,"
"So it seems you were wrong, he did think of everything," Vance said.
"Not entirely, though he did think of a last resort plan. He did not count on Snivley telling Sonic about the explosives. I think it may have had something to do with Snivley wanting to take over the Eggman Empire,"
"But if Eggman planned for everything, then why is Magnus Robotnik here? It sounded like Eggman wanted end things right on the Death Egg if he lost,"
"That was thinking of everything," said Tails as he walked into the room followed by Omega and NICOLE. "If the Death Egg blew up everyone would be dead, if it didn't he knew that he might be alive to continue his rampage, but if he died Magnus was programmed to take his place,"
"Shortly after Magnus made his appearance known to us, Sonic was captured. Magnus had somehow found out where we were hiding and sent the Shadow Clone and Doctor Finitevus after Sonic,"
"Wait, what ever happened to Snivley? I thought he took Finitevus," Vance said.
"I'm not sure what happened to Snivley, Magnus has told us that he killed Snivley. He made Finitevus work for him in return Magnus returned a little bit of his chaos energy," Tails said.
"I guess that makes sense," Vance said scratching his head.
"So I assume Sally showed you the history of how we got here?" NICOLE asked.
"Yes, everything that has happened since Shadow's betrayal until to now, now we just need to get rid of Magnus,"
"Oh actually I came here to inform you guys about that. I think it's time we made our move," Tails said.
"Good, I'm ready to finish this," Vance asked.
"Omega has spotted multiple Metal Sonic Troopers snooping around our location. It's safe to say Magnus knows we are out here somewhere. Not only that, but Metal Sonic has finished with his upgrades and is going to make his move as soon as Magnus makes his,"
"So we'll deal with the Troopers and then head towards Magnus?" Mecha Sally asked. Tails shook his head.
"Let's deal with the Troopers first, then we'll figure out when to hit Magnus. The last thing we need is to encourage Metal Sonic to help Magnus before he turns on him. But we don't want to wait too long and let Metal Sonic become as powerful as he can,"
"Tails follow me, there's something you should see," NICOLE said as she walked over to a corner of the room with Tails following behind her.
"What is it NICOLE," Tails asked as NICOLE pushed open a door hidden by the wall.
"It's something that I've been working on, it should help during our fight with Doctor Magnus," she said as they walked into a dark room. Omega and Mecha Sally stood at the door entrance and waited to see what was going to happen. In the darkness Tails made out a shape in the middle of the room. Vance who had followed Tails and NICOLE in, flipped on a light that shown directly down on an object in the center of the room. Tails immediately recognized the object as the body of Shard. NICOLE went over to a laptop and hit a few keys and soon after, Shards green eyes lit up. As he looked around the room, Vance and Tails walked in front of him.
"Tails?" he asked.
"Shard, it's nice to see you again," Shard nodded.
"It's nice to be back, and don't worry. NICOLE did a great job on my memory, I know everything that's going on," he said as he took a few steps forward.
"I see. That's good, you're caught up on the current events," Tails said. Shard nodded.
"Good, because we don't have time to explain, the Metal Sonic Troopers have crashed through our front door," Mecha Sally said.
"Okay then, let's take them out!" Tails said as he flew out of the door way. Vance and Shard were out the door next followed by Omega and Mecha Sally. Before Tails could get to the door, two Troopers burst through the wall and pinned him to the ground. Vance attacked the two, spin dashing through them. More Troopers began to flood through the open wall and began charging at them. Shard turned both his hands into laser cannon and began firing at any that came his way.
"Shard, you and Omega handle the Troopers that come in here. Sally cut through that wall on the left and we'll try to flank the others," Tails said. Omega dashed over to Shard and began using his machine guns to drop incoming Troopers. Mecha Sally went over to the wall and slashed an opening big enough for them to slip into. She cut them into the medical room next door and headed towards the door where the main hall was. When Mecha Sally opened the door she was a few Metal Sonic Troopers heading through the hole that they made into the training room. A few spotted her as they came in and charged head on. She took out the first few that came at her, once they dropped Vance spin dashed a trio that were making their way through the hole in the wall. Tails walked in with cannon on his right arm and began firing at the Metal Sonic Troopers. "Mecha Sally, do you know how many he sent after us?"
"It doesn't look like he sent much compared to what he's capable of. There are only a few hundred," she said as she sliced a Trooper in half.
"It seems he just wants our attention," Vance said dodging a punch. He punched the Trooper through the chest then threw its body to the ground. Tails ducked from an attack and fired his cannon in the chest of the Trooper.
Elsewhere, Magnus was watching their fight on many different screens in his private office at the very top of the Death Egg. Each screen was from a camera of one of the Metal Sonic Troopers. Whenever one went down, another took its place on the screen. Magnus was sitting front of the screens surveying actions of the Vance. Doctor Finitevus walked into the room as Magnus leaned back in his chair.
"Doctor Finitevus, your presence tells me that the project is complete?"
"Almost, it needs your final touch and then it will be ready," Finitevus stood next to Magnus and watched the screen. "Is this the Metal Sonic Trooper attack?"
"Yes, it took them a little bit to find their hideout. Quite cleverly hidden, Tails' is a very smart Mobian, probably the smartest. It is a shame I will have to put him down," Magnus said with a smile. He stood up and made his way to the door. "Finitevus, continue to watch the feed and let me know when they are finished,"
"No problem," He said as he took a seat in front of the screen. Before Magnus reached the door, Metal Sonic opened the door and walked in followed by Shadow.
"Good, I was about to call for the two of you. Did you finish what I asked you to do?" Magnus asked.
"Yes, we have prepared a stronger set of Metal Sonic Troopers. We have also disabled the Death Eggs defense functions," Shadow said. Finitevus swiveled around in the chair.
"Disabled the defense systems? Why would you do that?" he asked as he got up and walked over to Magnus. "Metal Sonic, please watch the screen for me, let us know when they are finished with the Troopers,"
"Sounds like fun," Metal Sonic said as he walked over to the screens.
"Sounds like you've been working on your sarcasm Metal," Magnus said.
"I've been trying," he said as he sat in front of the screens. Magnus turned his attention back to Finitevus.
"To answer your question Doctor, I've disabled the systems because they will not be needed. Metal Sonic and Shadow have upgraded the rest on the Metal Sonic Troopers we have in production and will serve as the new defense system,"
"How many were upgraded?"
"About forty units," Shadow said. Magnus clapped his hands.
"That's just enough to work," he said. Finitevus crossed his arms.
"Work for what, it seems you want the Freedom Fighters win by belittling your defenses,"
"Those defenses wouldn't be enough, upgrading the Metal Sonic Troopers is the more effective strategy," Magnus said. "Especially with Metal Sonic and Shadow leading the defense,"
"And what if they fail?" Finitevus said. He felt Metal Sonic's glare on the back of his neck as he said this.
"If it even comes to that, I'll step in,"
"You'll step in? But that thing hasn't even been tested yet," Finitevus said. Magnus laughed.
"It's called field testing Finitevus, that is all the testing it will need. Now, let's go get it prepared," he said as he started to walk out the door. Just then Metal Sonic turned in the chair.
"Doctor Magnus, they have finished off the rest of the Troopers," he said.
"As expected, they should be on their way in within the hour," Magnus said. As he walked out the door Finitevus turned to look at Metal Sonic. He smiled and gave him the thumbs up. Metal Sonic returned the gesture as Finitevus left the room after Magnus.
"I'll be there in a moment Magnus, I must take care of something," Finitevus said as the door closed behind him. Once they had left the room Metal Sonic got out of the chair and headed out as well. Shadow turned around as he walked to the door.
"Where are you going Metal?" he asked.
"I'm going to get ready, it appears we will be taking on the Freedom Fighters," he said.
"You sound as if you're worried," Metal Sonic stopped at the door for a moment.
"It doesn't hurt to be prepared, I'd advise you to get ready as well," He said as he walked out of the door. Metal Sonic went to the bottom of the Death Egg where everyone was being held. As he got off the elevator he noticed the door where the prisoners were held had been opened. Curious he walked through the doors, as he continued he heard voices coming from the room Sonic and his friends were being held. As he approached the doors opened, the first thing he saw when he looked into the room was Doctor Finitevus talking to Sonic. When Finitevus heard doors open he whirled around to face Metal Sonic.
"Finitevus, what are you doing here?" he asked before Finitevus could speak. There was a short pause before Sonic spoke.
"Is that you metal faker? It's been a long time," he said. Metal Sonic ignored Sonic and repeated his question.
"Doctor Finitevus, what are you doing here?"
"I am merely catching Sonic and his friends up on recent events," Finitevus said with a smile.
"Do you have orders to be down here?" Metal Sonic asked. Finitevus's smiled quickly went away.
"I don't recall needing permission to go anywhere. Instead of worrying about me, you should be getting yourself ready,"
"By the sounds of things, it looks like Magnus is nervous about Tails' new friend," Knuckles said. Finitevus shrugged.
"Perhaps, but he won't make the same mistakes that Eggman made. Tails and the remaining Freedom Fighters will either submit to him or lose their lives," he said. He turned around and walked towards the door. "Let's go Metal Sonic. They will be here shortly,"
Metal Sonic followed Magnus out of the room and out into the room past the prisoners. Metal Sonic walked over to a nearby computer that was in the room and began tapping on the keyboard. Finitevus approached the elevator.
"I am going to assist the doctor, make sure you are ready when the Freedom Fighters arrive," he said. Metal Sonic ignored him and continued what he was doing. Finitevus gritted his teeth and stepped on the elevator. As he left Metal Sonic turned his head and began to chuckle. Meanwhile the Freedom Fighters gathered in the main room as they looked at the Metal Sonic Trooper bodies on the ground. Their base had been destroyed by the conflict, nothing was left intact. Tails sighed as he realized what had to happen.
"Okay guys, I was hoping to do this on our own agenda. However it looks like we have to attack Magnus's base head on, and soon,"
"I agree. These Metal Troopers weren't as powerful as they could have been. He just wanted to find out where we were," Mecha Sally said.
"That's fine with me, the quicker we over throw that idiot the better," Shard said. "Besides, you've got me now. I bet we wasn't suspecting that,"
"Doubt it Shard, he knows that you're here. These Metal Sonic Troopers weren't here to beat us, they were here for recon," Tails said. Vance scratched his head.
"Well then, I don't see why we are waiting around here. Let's bring the fight to Magnus," he said. Mecha Sally nodded.
"Hold on, let's think about this. Shouldn't we come up with a plan of attack?" Shard suggested. "Based on the information I have Magnus has that Shadow clone and Metal Sonic at his disposal. But I doubt that is it, we don't even know what else he has in the Death Egg, and what about Finitevus?"
"Finitevus is somewhat on our side Shard, he doesn't like Magnus anymore then we do. He's helping a plan of mines without Magnus' knowledge," Tails said. "My goal is to get Metal Sonic to turn on Magnus. Once that happens we can release all the Freedom Fighters during the commotion and take them both out,"
"Well that does sound like a good plan," Shard said.
"How will we free the Freedom Fighter?" Vance asked.
"Thanks to Mecha Sally we know where they are being held, it's just the matter of deal with whatever security Magnus has put up," Tails said. "While we are dealing with that Vance, Sally and Shard will be distracting Magnus, while me and Omega dig under the base,"
"Magnus won't make it that easy, I'm almost certain he will have stronger Metal Sonic Troopers waiting for us," Mecha Sally said.
"We will deal with that when we get there," Omega said. "For now let's head out, the longer we wait the more difficult Magnus will make this for us,"
"Alright, let's go. Vance use Chaos Control to get us there," Tails said. Vance nodded as he raised his hand in the air. Everyone gathered around him as he shouted.
"Chaos, Control!"
Meanwhile Doctor Finitevus and Magnus stared at a computer screen in Magnus's lab. Magnus smiled as he looked upon the results on the screen.
"What do you think Finitevus?"
"I think this is a crazy idea, but it also looks like it could be a very powerful idea," he said as a smile crossed his face. Magnus nodded, as he leaned back in his chair.
"This should make for an exciting time when Tails' and his friends get here," Magnus pressed a button and a moment later Metal Sonic's face showed up on the screen. "Metal, did you finish what I asked you to do?
"Yes, Shadow's team and the Metal Sonic Troopers are ready," Metal Sonic responded. Magnus smiled.
"Good, everything is going according to plan," he said.
"What will I be doing?"
"You'll be guarding the prisoners, I have a feeling they will try to free Sonic and the others during the commotion. If they get past Shadow's team then I'll handle things from there," There was a pause between Magnus and Metal Sonic. Magnus leaned forward in his chair. "Is there a problem Metal Sonic?"
"No, I will guard the prisoners," Magnus smiled as Metal Sonic's face disappeared from the screen.
"Metal Sonic seems angry that he can't fight against the Freedom Fighters," Magnus said.
"Perhaps he would like revenge against Tails' new friend. From what Shadow told me, they didn't fare well against him," Finitevus said. Magnus shrugged.
"It doesn't matter to me. Once I finish off the remaining Freedom Fighters I will pay Moebius a visit. Hopefully they will provide more entertainment to keep me busy for a few years," Magnus turned to Finitevus. "Let's go pay Sonic a visit, it isn't normally in my nature but gloating about his demise seems to be the appropriate thing to do,"
"Maybe Eggman programmed a little more of him in you then he realized, you almost wanted to name your project after him,"
"Yes, that seems to be the case. Although I do feel the urge to name my invention after eggs so that's a plus," he said as he stood up. Finitevus and Magnus made their way to an elevator and headed down towards Sonic and his friends.
"This is a little off topic, but I've been in the Death Egg before. However I don't remember there being elevators everywhere in the base," Finitevus said. Magnus laughed. When they arrived and opened the doors, Sonic and the others stared at them. Magnus looked around the room and smiled.
"How is everyone this great afternoon?" Magnus asked the room of captive Mobians. Sonic gave Magnus a fake smile.
"How do you do doctor, is it time for my check up?" Sonic said. Knuckles chuckled a little.
"Yeah I have this itch to punch you through your head!" He said. Magnus walked towards Knuckles and leaned forward.
"Would you like an opportunity to relieve that itch?" he said with a smile. Knuckles smiled quickly turned turn to rage.
"You have no idea," he said through his teeth. Finitevus laughed a little as he watched Knuckles. "You want some too Finitevus? We are stilling going to have our day!" Knuckles said.
"Knuckles chill out. It's obvious that the good doctor wants to speak with us about something," Sonic said. Knuckles kept his eyes on Finitevus as he relaxed a little. Magnus began pacing the room back and forth as he spoke.
"I don't have much to say, I just thought you'd like to know that I found Tails and the rest of the Freedom Fighters hiding place, he is now aware that I know their location. He should be here any minute, hoping to save you all," Magnus said. He stopped in front of Sonic and smiled. "I want you guys to have a clear view of the action, as destroy Tails and the rest of them,"
"I wish you luck with that dream Doctor Magnus," Espio said. Magnus turned to Espio and walked over to him. He knelt down to meet Espio at eye level.
"And what makes you think this is a dream, Espio?"
"It's not hard to tell you are acting very arrogant," Rouge said. Magnus turned his head in Rouge's direction. "You're like a child that got a peak at his Christmas gift, you may be an android but Eggman made sure he implemented his arrogance. Though I do miss his egotistic attitude,"
"I'm not arrogant. There isn't anything wrong with being confident in your abilities. I was designed to finish my father's work, which was neutralizing or destroying the Freedom Fighters, I have more than ninety percent captured, the others were either destroyed or with Tails," Magnus said as he walked towards the center of the room.
"You are underestimating the young fox," Espio said. "He has more ability then you give him credit for,"
"The kid was even able to stall me while his father attacked the Acorn family," Sonic added.
"All under the supervision of my father, I on the other hand haven't failed in my current objectives. You should have learned what I'm capable of by now, I've flushed Tails out of his hiding spot and am forcing him to either wait to be ambushed or walk into one,"
"He does have point," Finitevus said. "He has been very successful, more than Eggman ever should have been,"
"Though he did remove a lot of obstacles for me, a certain relative of Sonic comes to mind," As Magnus said this Sonic's eyes flashed with rage as he attempted to lung at Magnus. When he saw he was getting nowhere he slowly calmed down before dropping his head. Magnus smiled and then turned towards Mighty who had been sitting very quietly watching everything unfold. "Finitevus, do you remember what happened to Mighty's sister?"
"Do not involve me in your pointless meddling, out of all the things I believe in, karma is one of them," Finitevus said.
"Where's the fun in that Finny?" Magnus said. Finitevus gritted his teeth as he held back a retort. Magnus laughed.
"I can't wait to get my hands on you Magnus," Sonic said. Magnus grinned as he reached out at patted Sonic on the head. Sonic quickly bit Magnus on the hand and pulled him forward. Sonic then leaned back and brought his head into Magnus'. Magnus fell on his back a little dazed. Everyone began to laugh as Magnus slowly got back to his feet.
"Karma," Finitevus said as he turned to leave. "Play with them all you like I will go check on Metal Sonic,"
"Very well," Magnus said. His smile had once again returned as he stared at Sonic. "This will all be over soon Sonic. You won't have to worry about Tails for long,"
"I know, he'll be telling me all about your defeat when he frees us," Sonic said with a smirk. Magnus laughed as he said this.
"I guess even the so called hero of Mobius needs to lie to himself to give himself hope," Sonic's smirk remained intact as Magnus turned to leave.
"I'll wish you good luck Magnus, you are going to need it," Sonic said. Magnus turned to look at Sonic, the two eyes met for a moment before Magnus spoke.
"Thank you Sonic, but luck will not be needed to win this war," He left out of the room and went down the hall to the elevator, he saw Shadow standing there when the doors opened.
"Doctor, they have arrived they are a few miles away from base. I suspect they are trying to get the jump on us," he said. Doctor Magnus chuckled as he got into the elevator.
"Good, send the Metal Sonic Troopers, I want you and Metal Sonic to go as well,"
"Understood," Shadow said. The elevator arrived to the computer room where Metal Sonic and Doctor Finitevus stood talking to each other. Shadow walked over to them as Magnus waited by the elevator. "Metal Sonic, Doctor Magnus has instructed us to go deal with Tails and his friends,"
"You're sending us out this early?" Metal Sonic asked as he looked at Magnus.
"Yes, I need you two alongside the Metal Sonic Troopers to stall them until Doctor Finitevus and I am finished with our project,"
"I'll try to keep them alive long enough," Metal Sonic said. Shadow followed Metal Sonic as he walked past Magnus and into the elevator.
"Try not to have too much fun you two," Magnus said as he walked over to Finitevus.
"Don't worry, we'll save just enough for you," Shadow said with a smile. Finitevus and Magnus both turned to a computer screen. Without any indication, Finitevus hit a few keys on the computer and brought up a file named Project Egg, Magnus smiled.
"Now, let's put the finishing touches to this,"
Vance, Tails, Mecha Sally, Shard and Omega arrived. They looked around at the open field Vance has brought them to. It seemed that anything that would have provided them with a chance to sneak onto the Death Egg unnoticed was burned. Blackened twigs lay everywhere, and the ground was nothing but dry dirt.
"You know this is my first time seeing the Death Egg in a while, it looks a lot more," Tails paused a moment, trying think of a proper word to describe it.
"It doesn't look like a base Eggman would have built," Mecha Sally said.
"Un-Eggmanish?" Vance said. Tails shrugged as he stared at the Death Egg. Magnus had kept the shape of the Death Egg the same, but that was where the similarities ended. It was painted black and the eyes were replaced with much smaller ones. The Death itself was buried in the ground and had support towers surrounding it. Vance scratched his head. "It does look more intimidating then my memories are telling me,"
"Heh, it doesn't matter. Talking about it won't get it destroyed any faster," Shard said.
"Agreed, I am ready to destroy," Omega said. Tails put a hand on Omega.
"Hang on buddy, I need your help on the inside," he said.
"On the inside?" said NICOLE as she materialized next to them. Tails nodded.
"Yes, I planned on taking Omega on the inside with me so we could try to find and free our friends,"
"Tails that isn't a good idea, you haven't seen what's on the inside of that base," NICOLE said.
"I know NICOLE but our main goal is to free them first, once we free them it will make our battle much easier,"
"We will be distracting the main defenses of the Death Egg," Mecha Sally said.
"And don't forget, I'm not as helpless as I used to be," Tails said as his enhancement suit began to cover his body. Tail's fur turned blue and his eye changed to green.
"Relax NICOLE, we got this," Shard said with a smirk.
"You'll be alongside me and Omega, we need you to be our extra set of eyes," Tails said. NICOLE smiled a little as she nodded. "Now, Mecha Sally, Shard, Vance. I'm relying on you to keep them distracted as much as possible, the more of them that's fighting you the less we will have to deal with,"
"No problem, with Vance and the princess this will be a piece of cake," Shard said.
"Okay then, Omega and I will be digging a tunnel underground as soon as you guys leave. With Omega's power it shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes,"
"Okay, we can keep the front door busy for that long," Vance said. Shard flew into the air.
"Alright team, let's do it to it!" he said as he shot through the sky. Vance ran off on foot with Mecha Sally fly a little bit over his head. Omega turned his hands into drills and began digging, Tails watched as the three made their way to the Death Egg, he sighed and jumped into the hole.
Metal Sonic and Shadow stood at the front of the Death Egg waited for their opponents to arrive. They didn't have to wait long, Metal Sonic noticed an object fly high into the sky and a moment later it began heading towards them with two more objects that appeared to be closer to the ground. Metal Sonic raised his hand and Metal Sonic Troopers emerged from the Death Egg and stood in front of Metal Sonic and Shadow. Shard noticed this as flew a little lower towards Vance and Mecha Sally.
"I've spotted Metal Sonic and Shadow, they've just called a few Metal Sonic Troopers to stand in our way," he said. Vance smiled.
"Well let's show them why that is a bad idea," Vance started to pick up speed as he made a beeline for Shadow and Metal Sonic.
"Thought Doctor Magnus told you to watch the prisoners?" Shadow said. Metal Sonic laughed a little.
"I had other plans," he said as he watched Vance get closer.
"It looks as if he plans on going after us," Shadow said to Metal Sonic.
"You can take care of him, I'll handle the pieces of junks," Metal Sonic replied. Shadow grinned as he made dash towards Vance. Before they made contact Vance turned to the right with Shadow right on his tail. Mecha Sally and Shard stopped just before the line of Metal Sonic Troopers. Metal Sonic raised his hand and the Troopers moved to the side. Shard walked forward while Mecha Sally stayed where she was.
"Well, if it isn't my brother from another creator. Since Eggman created Doctor Magnus and Magnus created you, doesn't that make you my great uncle?" Shard said. Metal Sonic didn't respond. "Boy, why is it that evil genius people can never be creative? You look just like the brother I had to take down a few years ago,"
"The only difference is, I am better," Metal Sonic said as he charged at Shard. When this happened Mecha Sally drew her arm blades and attacked the nearest Metal Sonic Trooper. It dodged her attack and punched her to the ground. As other Troopers began to surround her she realized what they had gotten into. She quickly flew up into the sky, the Troopers were hot on her trail. Shard had grabbed Metal Sonic's hand and holding him there as the rest of the Metal Sonic Troopers began to move closer. Shard quickly punched Metal Sonic in the face and turned to attack the Metal Sonic Troopers. He threw a punch at one knocking it off balance, he tried to finish it off a blade through the chest but it grabbed his hand and threw him into the air. Shard quickly stopped himself and charged back into the fight. One Trooper attempted to grab hold of him, Shard spindashed it into the ground and shot it in the face with a laser. He then turned his attention the crowd behind him and began to shoot at them.
"What in the world did Magnus do to these guys," Shard said.
"These Metal Sonic Troopers have gotten an enhancement, both in fighting and defensive capabilities. Think of it this way, Metal Sonic 3.0 may have been a tough opponent that you eventually overcame. However, it was only one of him. Now you're fighting dozens of him!" Metal Sonic Laughed as Shard continued to fight off the Troopers. After taking down another one he flew into the sky. He quickly glanced around, looking for Mecha Sally. He spotted her little bit away fighting off the Troopers as well. He made a dash over to her. She had just dropped her first Trooper before another one attempted to hit her. She dodged its attack and then brought her blade down on its back slicing it in half. Shard suddenly appeared next to her shooting a Trooper behind her.
"Sally, we need to stick together. These Troopers have been enhanced. They are a lot tougher then they look," Shard said.
"I figured that out already Shard, but you are right. Sticking together will give us a better chance at taking them out,"
"Did you see where Vance went?" he asked. A Metal Sonic Trooper smashed Shard in the back on head dropping him to the ground. Mecha Sally quickly put her blades through its chest ripped it apart. Sally flew down next to Shard as he got up.
"I think we need to worry about ourselves before we worry about Vance," she said. Shard nodded in agreement as they stood back to back, waiting for the Metal Sonic Troopers to make their move.
