Chapter 18

Lilly heard the front door open and her kids come running in from outside. She heard her husband calling out for them to slow down, not to run in the hallways. She grinned as she sensed his presence behind her "Hey baby, how'd it go with your sister?"

"Good, we're getting there"

"Oh yeah? That's great"

Lilly turned around and looped her arms around his neck, Scotty resting his hands on her hips "so where were you and the kids?"

Scotty grinned "Ma wanted to make us lunch"

Lilly smiled "sorry I missed out"

"I brought back leftovers" he murmured, pulling her closer.

"Yummy" Lilly replied softly lifting her head up to meet his lips.

Scotty sighed in delight and started to deepen their long, slow kiss.

"Lilly do you have another pillow case this one….has a hole in it" Christina walked into the kitchen and found her sister, pressed against the kitchen counter by her husband, deep in what looked like a rather passionate kiss. "Sorry" she replied as the startled couple broke apart.

"Ah, Scotty…I asked Chris to stay with us, she was staying in a rather dodgy SRO in the city and I felt like she'd be better off taking that spare bed in the den"

Scotty nodded "yeah, that's fine" still looking a little surprised "you're welcome here as long as you want" he replied

"Thanks"

"I am just gonna grab a shower and get changed" Scotty announced and her kissed Lilly's cheek and turned on his heel, leaving his wife and sister-in-law alone in the kitchen.

"Come on, I'll introduce you to the triplets" Lilly said as she turned to her sister.

"Ok"

The triplets seemed curious about Christina's absence for their entire lives and both Christina and Lilly decided it was best they didn't know the truth about why she hadn't been around. Christina was relieved that they didn't ask too many questions and instead accepted her warmly.

As she lay on the fold out couch that night, she couldn't help but think how amazing this was. When she decided to come back to Philly, to try and patch things up with her sister she never though that she'd actually be sleeping in the spare room, having just had dinner with her family.

She sighed contentedly and rolled over, closed her eyes and soon drifted off to sleep.

Scotty crept downstairs the next morning, not wanting to wake up his sister in law, but as he entered the kitchen, he found her already up and sitting at the breakfast bar, a fresh cup of coffee in her hand.

"Oh hey, I didn't wanna wake you…but I guess you're already up"

Chris smiled "yeah, I'm usually up at this time….you going to work?"

Scotty nodded and opened the cupboard to grab his travel mug "yeah, we're working a trafficking case…I wanna get in early to get a jump on things" He poured some coffee into the mug and sealed the lid "Lil should be up soon, she has to get the kids ready for school…did you sleep alright?"

Chris nodded "yeah, I think so….that beds not the most comfortable but it's better than the place I was staying before…and at least Lilly is speaking to me"

Scotty grinned "I am glad. I better go to work"

"See you later"

Scotty headed into the hallway to grab his gun and handcuff before leaving for work.

Jack made his way over to his partner's desk, tapping a manila folder in the palm of his hand. He was glad that Agent Carter had agreed with him, Scotty may be a little green in some aspects but he was excelling in others. He deserved this shot to prove himself, not only to the others in their squad, but to himself to.

It was already 7pm, but Scotty was still hard at work, writing up an interview he and Agent Briscoe had done earlier in the day.

"Scotty, what are you still doing here?" Jack asked jovially "don't you have a gorgeous wife to get home too?"

Scotty chuckled "I was just about to leave, I swear"

"Well since you are already here, I wanna talk to you about something"

"Sure, about what?"

Jack grinned "You know that the ADA is pursuing that trafficking case against the 18th street Mexicali's'?"

"Yeah?"

"Agent Carter and I think that you'd be the guy to head up the investigation"

Scotty's mouth fell open "are you sure? I've only been here a few months"

"And in that time you've put in more hours then all of the other agents in the squad, Agent Carter trusts you Scotty we both know that you can handle this"

"It's a big case Jack; I don't wanna screw it up"

"You won't" Jack assured "read over the file…..and give me your answer in the morning"

Scotty took the file form his partner and nodded "sure"

"Great, now get outta here. Kiss those gorgeous kids of yours"

"Thanks man"

Jack left the room, sliding his jacket on as he left.

Scotty couldn't stop thinking about Jack and Liam's offer to take point in the trafficking case. It was an important case to be point man on and he wasn't sure he was ready to handle a federal case. He parked in the driveway and reached into the back seat to grab the case file Jack had given him. He was planning on reading it, catching himself up on the details and then making his decision. Maybe he'd even get Lil's opinion on it she usually told him how it was. If she thought he wouldn't be able to handle an investigation this big she'd tell him. He valued his wife's opinion.

He opened the car door and immediately the front door opened and Laura came running over to him. "Hi Daddy" she leapt up into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Scotty groaned slightly as Laura's leg connected with his stomach but he shook it off "Hey Princesa" He shifted her more comfortably onto his hip, pressing a kiss to her cheek "how was school?"

Laura grinned "Michael and I are doing a science project together"

Scotty chuckled "sounds like fun"

"Mummy said that he can come over after church on Sunday to work on it"

He carried her into the house and lowered her down to the ground "why don't you go upstairs and get ready for bed sweetheart"

"Can you read me a story?"

"Not tonight, Daddy has some work to do"

"I'll read to you if you want" Chris asked as she appeared in the hallway.

Laura nodded "ok, I'll go get ready for bed"

"Good girl"

"Night Daddy"

"Night sweetie"

Laura ran up the stairs and he turned to face Chris "thanks"

"No problem, it will be nice to spend some time with my niece"

"Lil home?"

"Upstairs, she was tired after dinner"

"Thanks" Scotty pulled his holster from his belt, making sure to secure his gun and handcuffs in the lock box before heading up the stairs to his wife.

Lilly was fast asleep on top of the covers as he pushed open the door and he couldn't help but smile at how adorable he found her in that moment. He came around to her side of the bed and carefully sat down beside her, shucking off his shoes and tugging loose his tie. "Lil, Lil wake up baby"

Lilly's eyes slowly flickered open and she sighed contentedly as she saw him "hi" she whispered sleepily.

"Hi, sorry to wake you up"

Lilly smiled "I am not" She added, a huskiness was seeping into her every word as she reached up a hand and grabbed his tie "get down here"

Scotty chuckled and lowered himself down to kiss her gently on the lip.

It was only meant to be a quick and chaste kiss, but Lilly seemed to have other ideas. One of her slender hands circled around his neck holding him down on top of her, while her other hand was sliding down his chest to fiddle with his belt buckle.

All thoughts of the case slipped from his mind as he settled himself down on top of her, his tongue and her tongue doing battle for dominance inside her mouth.

Lilly tugged loose his shirt from his trousers, her trembling fingers, treading the buttons through their holes, revealing the vast expanse of his muscular chest.

"You do know that the kids are still awake don't you?" Scotty asked as shrugged out of his shirt.

"We'll just have to be quiet then won't we?" Lilly countered as she swung her legs around his waist, sliding his pants and boxers down his hips.

Scotty unbuttoned her blouse, and began to kiss his way down her neck. He paused, grinning at her breasts, noticing that they were definitely starting to look bigger than they had been before she'd gotten pregnant.

Scotty kissed his way across her soft mounds, thrilled and turned on as he discovered her bra had a front clasp to it. He made short work of it and enveloped one of her nipples into his mouth, circling it with his tongue and lips.

Her fingers gripped his dark hair, holding him against herself.

She moaned, biting her lip so she didn't cry out, the last thing she wanted was for one of the kids to walk in on her, or Chris for that matter. Scotty shifted his attention to her other breast as his own hands tugging down her pants and underwear.

Dear God she was so sexy right now, he had to have her, and as he shifted himself into position….he decided that he would tell his wife about his opportunity later.
