Ch.16: Life
Katie's POV
A week later
Ever since they went in that Coma about 3 weeks ago, Life has changed. Other than what you already know, many other things happen. Training my gift has grown somewhat difficult. We have to be more careful with it because they can't just be there so if I loose it, either one can prevent further damage to the person, so they can't piss me off anymore. I lost my agility & stealth trainer(Leila), my strategy & fighting master(Jayla-even though she was unwilling, she had to), and although they're trying to still help, my endurance trainers (Seth & Embry). Can you blame me? I've been out of the game all my life.
"Allison! Focus!" Quil says bringing me back to earth. "You're surrounded." I let the static spread until I could 'see' them all, and when they'll attack.
"Bring it on NyQuil," I say normally and all of them start to close in. I shock the ones who got close to me and kept it on them, leaving them stunned. Until someone pins my arms behind my back, making me struggle slightly and just as I'm about to leave them tazed on the floor, he speaks.
"You have to move as well Allison and keep focus." Quil says and lets go. I feel like growling, why was he one of my replacements?!
"Sorry." wow. I see someone behind me and handspring away from them, shooting another with electricity.
"Good, stay on your toes." Jasper calls. Vampires and Werewolf team... that's nice, note sarcasm. Yes, you heard me: Vampires and werewolf. It took 6 of them to replace both Jay and Lei, 3 each. Someone else runs up trying to attack me from behind like the one before and when they're close enough, I try to back flip over them but they pull me back by the hem of my shirt. I hit the ground with a thud.
"A tip, only a human would sit there and just watch you do that," Edward tells me and I roll my eyes, like he didn't know I was going to do that.
"She did good though." Alice, the replacement Leila, along with Leah and Mia.
"Thank you Alice," I answer to her standing up just to be knocked over again by someone I couldn't sense, and they sit on my back, but I could hear. It was Erin.
"Always pay attention to your surroundings," Jasper comments.
"I can't sense her right now!" I counter.
"That's not going to stop your enemy from attacking. Your gift can only help you but so far, you have to do the rest," Jasper trails off and Erin finishes.
"Many of the vampires there have gifts of their own, not all of them can be sensed, like I can't. And some of them won't be affected by your gift like Jayla. You have to do what your gift can't. Like. You can't sense me, but you can still electrocute me, someone out there may be the exact opposite, you have to be ready for that scenario."
"Like this?" I shocked her off of me.
"Ow! I was making a point!" she says stunned. "What I mean is, don't rely to much on your gift,"
"You can only block one selected gift at a time Erin, as soon as you stop, I can sense you again." I point out.
"But others may not be like that Allison, they might be like Bella. And they know about your gift... they'll be ready for it if they're ordered to attack you," I'm officially hating my stalker more than I thought possible. I know it's a vampire named Alec, and if I see him anywhere I won't hesitate in tearing him to pieces. I've been afraid of him for too long! I only nod in response. Then again, I'm not the one who is getting beat up by a blind girl.
"Guys, maybe she needs a break." Embry says. Thank you!
"Yeah, she's been working since 7 this morning, it's 4:00 now, and she has be able to concentrate later." Seth adds. That's why they're my buddy's.
"I think that might be best." Erin allows since she's the leader in this now. She knows the most. I half sprint into the Cullen house and I've gotten alot faster. What they meant by later was they still pretty much teach me how to focus in different conditions, and test my limits, it's just not the same. They're crazy, creepy and scary now. We were gonna go into the woods after it was dark and see how well I can fight.
In the woods at night
"Use your surroundings," Seth mutters. I hear wolf Embry close by and I climb up a tree, but again am pulled back down, this time by Embry's teeth. "You need to be faster than that Katie." During training, only a few of them call me Katie. "These people aren't going to be human." I shock Embry and when he buckles over, I run from him and this time jump for the lowest branch on a different tree, pull myself up and continue higher, and I get pulled up by my arm, and my back is against the tree. "Good, but next time, check if someone's in an area that's not easy to get out of, before you go deeper. There isn't a way to escape up here." he says like he's angry? Seth is frowning in all seriousness and instantly turns and jumps from the tree before I say anything. Someone please help me. I can't go through this for 2 more hours. Seth is scaring the crud outta me!
Seth's POV(1 minute ago)
Seth. What's going on? Cora can't reach Jay. That must be Zack.
What's the problem? Jay and her sister are in a coma. I flinch.
She was just worried. Oh. OK. Come on. You have to lighten up some. She'll wake when she's ready, not a second before, and she won't be happy to hear while she was out of it, that you turned into an emotionless... bloodsucker? He was right, and that managed to make me angry. So angry I almost attacked Katie! But I managed to stop and continue with the lesson. So easy it would have been to. No.
"Good, but next time, check if someone's in an area that's not easy to ge out of, before you go deeper. There isn't a way to escape up here." I cover that up the best I can, but I still almost lost it. I'm not hurting anyone.
Katie's POV
I jump from tree to tree keeping a tab on Embry's wolf form, in case he phases again. I'm not one of those super tree-jumpers so I need to jump from the ones somewhat closer together than others. I sense Bella so I shock her and keep going, doing some flips in between, I laugh. Then I almost fall into the ravine for not watching where I'm going.
"Don't get too cocky. You make mistakes like that." Brady says to me. Yeah, he was here too. I've still got alot to learn, and alot of time, but not the right teachers.
"Alright." I then just sit there. "I'm tired,"
"You can go now." Embry says finally phased back, and I smile thankful. I wonder how it's gonna be from here on out. And if I can help any at this rate.
Don't hate. Sorry it took so long, and guess what? Internet is even more annoying cause now I don't know when I can access it! Fun right? no. Also I spent the last almost year listening to music. R&R.
