Chapter 6
On a dark, warm night, Skyler was on the sofa with Hugo. He started to kiss her and she lay down. She'd learnt, after the three months they'd been together, to only wear her thin, white cotton nightdress in the evenings. It was easier for Hugo to massage her pale skin through the fabric.
Skyler's father made his way across the valley and up the hill where their house lay. He saw the lights were on downstairs and hesitated.
Meanwhile, Hugo was kissing Skyler's neck and collar bone, his hands sliding up her legs. Her father had reached the door and listened, horrified.
Skyler bit Hugo's lower lip and he grinned.
"You're learning well." He said in a low voice, pressing her down onto the sofa.
She groaned, "Oh, Hugo please..."
Then she gasped and clutched the back of Hugo's shirt.
Her father heard the two of them start to pant and the sofa creaked, getting steadily faster. After what felt like forever, a scream from Skyler echoed around the valley.
Her father waited a minute or two then burst through the door.
The pair stood quickly, the man pulling his trousers up and Skyler doing up the last few buttons on her dress, her hair tousled.
"Father!" She exclaimed.
Skyler had never seen him look more furious. He looked between the two of them and around the dimly lit room, anger emanating from him.
"Skyler, what on earth do you think you are doing?" He said, his every syllable shaking with rage.
"Father, I..." She looked at Hugo. "This is Hugo."
He walked forward, extending a hand. "Hello, sir. I apologize for the-"
"Oh, save it!" Seth Nightshade snapped. "You're at least twice her age!"
Skyler opened her mouth to argue but Hugo spoke in a calm voice. "Your daughter is a very bright and mature witch for her age."
"I know that but she's still just a child! Have you no shame?!"
"Father-" She began.
"Be quiet, Skyler!" The man stormed.
"I won't! You're going to send him away!"
"Of course I'm going to send him away! He has been abusing you for months!"
"It's not abuse, father!" Skyler started to cry. "Please don't send him away, I... I love him!"
Her father looked shocked and turned on Hugo who was staring at Skyler.
"You have brainwashed this girl! She cannot love you, she is a child!"
"I believe she is old enough to know what she wants." Hugo insisted.
"She only wants you because you give her new experiences, experiences she isn't ready for!"
"Father!" Skyler tried to say.
"Go to your room!" He made a sweeping motion with his arms and Skyler was pushed away to the stairs. She looked through the banisters, sobbing quietly, while her father moved closer to Hugo, glaring at him.
"How many times have you defiled my daughter?" He said in a low voice, shaking with rage.
"I..."
"How many times?!" He bellowed.
"Over the past few months... many, many times."
With a yell of rage, Seth started a spell but Hugo ran towards Skyler.
He kissed her and cupped her face in his hands for one final time.
"I love you." Skyler whispered shakily.
"And I love you. I will return for you one day."
The noise of the spell rose around them.
"And we can be together!" Hugo shouted over the noise.
Skyler clutched at his hands.
There was a blinding flash of red light and he disappeared.
Skyler burst into fresh tears.
Her father stood, downstairs, his shoulders slumped down when he saw the unhappiness he'd caused his only child.
"Skyler, I'm sorry." He said but the young girl turned and ran upstairs.
Skyler never really forgave her father for taking away what she thought was her only romantic relationship. What she felt for Tom, however, was different, she didn't feel so desperate, so nervous. When she was with him, she never thought of Hugo.
She had fallen for Hugo, quickly, all at once, the second he'd kissed her that first time.
But with Tom, it was slower, gradually the emotions had built up. That was all it took to leave her feeling happy and content.
But she could sense a darkness deep within Tom, longing to get out. The same darkness she felt inside her, sometimes.
Hi, so the relationship between Hugo and Skyler will get worse as time goes on, I have plans... but obviously I don't intend to romanticize the abuse that occurs' will occur. Hugo is a villain, through and through. Don't want to spoil anything!
Please keep reading and review! I live off feedback so it would be great.
