How did this happen to us?
Aqua wondered that for the millionth time as she wandered aimlessly down that lightless path. Her feet ached, her head was throbbing, and her heart was so heavy, she thought it'd drop right out of her chest. She had to escape. She needed to rescue Ven, and make sure Terra was okay. Getting out was top priority.
That would have been easy… if not for the fact that she didn't know where she even was.
Out of the darkness, a gigantic monster unlike anything she'd ever seen rose up. Her keyblade came into her hand instantly, and she would've taken it on… but three more rose in its wake.
She couldn't take on four.
Wilting, she murmured, "Maybe… I should just fade into the darkness here…" She closed her eyes.
A flash of light caused her to open them again. She looked up in time to see two glowing projectiles tear through the monsters and dissipate them. As they drew close to her, she saw the forms of two keyblades – Wayward Wind and Earthshaker.
Even here, her friends were by her side.
