Hello Everyone
I know that I have been absent for this last year and a half, however I became to busy with school, work and life. I began to really question where this story was going, and changed my mind so many things. However, last night I was on fanfic for the first time in forever *Frozen Quote*, and I was reading the great work on here. It made me really miss being on here, and writing. Today is actually my 21st birthday, and as a gift to myself I decided to update.
Please forgive the lateness. You guys truly inspired me, and make me want to go back to what I really love.
Updating is always kind. Please let me know if the year spent working on this chapter was worth it. :)

"No."
The word came out like a stone choirs, and while her inner self cheered on Sakura's common sense cowered in gut.
"You will heal her." The room seemed to heat up ten degree. Pein focused his eyes back on the blue haired women. Crossing her shaking arms over her chest Sakura simply shook her head.
"I won't do it, you can beat me, and torture me, but I will never betray my village."
"Even if it means killing your friends." He snared making her head turn. Her fists clinched tightly into her sweaty palm, however Pein expression did not change at her flare of furry.
"If you will not openly corporate then I'll have to connivence you in another matter." Sakura froze, and instead of watching him snap her neck, he walked to the door signaling her to follow him.
"Your insane to think I would help the Akatsuki, you'll still go after Naruto, no matter what I do." Sakura snapped angrily as they walked down the narrow hall.
"Follow me." He said unaffected by her words. Pein was in no mood for games, nor was he going to argue with a little girl. Pushing two metal doors open he would save Konan, even if it meant breaking his own rules.

The first thing that Sakura saw was a room full of computers. Ten of them all lined up from top to bottom. It reminded Sakura of the integration room back in Leaf. She had only been in there once to deliver some papers, however she would never forget the sight of the prisoners on the screens. Some were cowering, crying, and doing other disgusting things that she would rather not remember.
Walking closer the screens to better make them out. Fear came over her, and looking a bit closer, she noticed that below the screens sat a small control panel on it, consisting of a few buttons and knobs.
"Impressive isn't it?." He said frankly, for computers did not shock Sakura as much as what screens viewed.
It seemed that Pein was laying all his cards on the table.
Staring dumbfound, Sakura placed her dirty hand over her mouth. Tears filled her eyes at the sight before her. The computer screens were filled different views her own village. The hospital, the training fields, The Hokage tower, and even Ichiraku Ramen. These cameras overlooking the her entire home. Ploting, watching and, Insisting complete control.
"You use this to spy on Naruto?" She asked no one.
In the corner of her sight she saw Pein walking to one of the control panel. Sakura's gaze was stuck to the screening she watched a screen that displayed Hinata and Kiba laughing, and sparring while a sleepy looking Shino lay lazy under a tree. All three of them completely clueless, to the cameras.
Fists wiled up in her hands and her eyes shot to Pein.
"How did you get those cameras up, who works for you, What is the point of showing me this?" Anger overtook her. Countless reasons popped into her head, and if she could all the computers would be destroyed with the slam her her wrist.
"The point, Miss Haruno is that you are going to heal Konan, and your not going to place any room for argument." He stated simply. Walking over to one of the control panels he tamped with the knob until it focused all the screens unto one image.
Taking a few steps forward Sakura's heart fell into her gut as she recognized the clinic. It was busy and hectic as always, as staff and people walked idly by. Her jade eyes, however were fixed in the far right corner where her best friend Ino stood fiddling with the vending machine.
"It would be a shame if something happened to your very good friend, how far along is she, ten, eleven weeks." He said bluntly. Making Sakura spring towards him. How could he know?, no one knew, she had only just told Sakura the week before.
"Deidara, is waiting outside, ready to strike at my command every time you say no, I will kill of your friends, and loved ones." Walking over to her he stood right beside her, his face turned to her, and his eyes burned the same question he had asked her in the other room.
"Save her, or they all die."
Pein was not making empty treats, she knew they he would have no problem killing them. Tears fell hard and, she nodded instantly.
"I'll do it, just please don't hurt them." It sounded pathetic, and there was a chance he was lying, but Sakura would never take the chance. Pein would kill everyone she cared about, she had to protect them, even if it meant betraying them.
"Good, now just so you know I'm serious." He snapped his fingers and a coo looking, and collected Sasori appeared.
He smiled deviously, making Sakura shiver.
The image focused on the clinic began to shake, and Sakura watched with horrified eyes as a flash a orange can into view.
"NOO!" Sakura scrammed as she watched the building shake, an explosion broke off people began running along with Ino, and in a flash the screen was cut off, leaving noting but static.
Gasping loudly, she felt as if someone had stuck a knife through her chest. They had just might have killed her best friend! "I said I would do it." She cried out, "Why did you do that?"
Sakura would have screamed if her breath had not left her. Looking down at her Pein gave her no expression
"That was just a warning, if you disobey in any way I will burn every last building to the ground." Pein said coldly. Her breathing began to speed up, and Sakura griped her chest trying to keep herself from hyperventilating. Images of her friend flashed trough her head. What had she done?
Leaving her in her own misery and pity Pein walked out the door. "Take her to Kisame, and tell her to drain her." Pein said to the person standing next to the door.

Itachi lead Sakura down the halls back to her new room. She walked in a daze her heart shattered, and she would never be able to pick up the pieces. When Itachi had finally come get her, she had been unable to stand.
Ino was probably dead, and Sickamaru was probably identifying his wife, and unborn child reminds. Clutching her eyes Sakura blocked out the image unable to deal with it. Anger prevented tears, and her heavy eyes nearly blocked the view of Itachi. Jade eyes narrowed, as they came to a stop in the hall.
After shutting the door to her room he watched her move over to the bed burring her face in the pillow. God she was pathetic.
Turing her face she saw he was still there watching her silently, he made no move to speak or leave instead staring trough her like a child.
"Your a monster." The words came unexpected, and pouring out like ice. Looking back at her Itachi still gave her no expression, enraging her more.
Jumping up from the bed she moved inches from him no longer seeing no point in surpassing her rage. Moving her fist up she gathered up every last bit of Charka and aimed for his face. For a moment he looked almost amused making a small gin appear on his face. Her breathing hitched he uncaring behavior tore her apart.
Itachi gripped her wrist tightly before he swung her around pushing her arm behind her back and into his chest. Sakura struggled in his grip, she wanted to fight, wanted to punch them, and rip them all to pieces. Even in her anger, and screaming he said nothing.
"Your a horrible human being, you have destroyed everything in my life." She cried trying to push away from him. His grip loosed a bit making her head fall forward.
"One day all these bad things you've done will come back to you, all the them, and your going to rot in the nine hells, leaving nothing behind, but a forsaken name."
Standing in the faint light she expected him , to slap her, or simply to kill her. Instead an amused chuckle escaped Itachi's lips, she froze at the sound, and contained a shiver from sliding up her spin.
"You seem to blame me for all your misfortunes, however I am not the one who ordered you here, nor am I the one that killed your friend." He mused to her still refusing to let go.
Crushing her teeth together, he allowed her to flip her body crushing Jade to Crimson.
"You are the cause of all my problem, if you did not exist then Ino would still be alive, my village wouldn't live in fear, and my team wouldn't have fallen apart."
Digging her nails into his chest An amused "Hn" came from his mouth."You truly believe that without my existence, you would be living happily ever after with my little brother, in a a good peaceful village with no war, and no lies ?" He asked.
"Don't assume you know everything, I did love Saskue once, but you shattered that the day you killed everyone he loved, you have damned him just like you, and now you've damned me as well."
In all of her life Sakura had never wanted anyone more dead. In this moment she did not fear the Sharingan. Sakura wanted to throw him to the floor, and stick a blade though his empty heart.
Taking one of her hands he stepped forward pushing himself closer She knew he he could easily kill her, break her into a million different pieces, however non of it seemed to matter.
"You never had a future with Saskue, not in this life nor your imagery one." He stated factually, Sakura's eyes widened and then sheered in anger, everything was a sick joke to him. "Get out!"
He did not budge, and a small dark smirk appeared on his lips
"You seem to misunderstand the situation Sakura, you don't give me orders." He said suddenly. Blinking her eyes Sakura realized that his grip was like quick sand. Pulling her closer, he bend his head down into her hair. Sakura quickly turned away dieseling the tension. He grabbed her wrist forcing her back to him.
A gasp sheered from her, and the tight grip brought their faces nearly touching. Forcing his gaze on her. The spinning wheel of Mangekyo Sharingan possessed her gaze, and her life.
Anger turned to fear has she tried to dissociate the distance between them. With a shocking breath trapped in his grip unable to escape. Slamming her eyes shut Sakura felt his breath ran across her face.
"Do as I say Sakura, and I promise you will get out of this alive." He whispered huskly into ear. Taking a step back he gave her the space she craved.
"Your out of your mind." She hissed holding the wrist he had just let go.
He turned away from her, and headed to the door. Sakura's already fragile heart beat to an unsteady drum, and just when she thought he was leaving for good he blurted out something that she just barley caught.
"Ino is Alive"

"So, is the little bitch still breathing?" Kisame asked taking sip of his drink. Sasori silently sighed, but continued to work on his new puppet.
"She'll live, for now." he said simple, making Kisame snort loudly.
"What exactly dose Pein want with her anyways? I never took him for the hostage type."
Sasori ignored him, instead concentrating on the human arm he had just dismembered. He finally had time to add the right poison to each pour on the skin. Smiling to himself this would cause any direct contact to be deadly. Kisame, repeated his question loudly making Sasori's arm slip.
In moments like these Sasori regretted working on his puppets out in the open. However the lighting in his room was too dim for his delicate work. This was the cause and effect that always ended in unpleasant conversations with his team mates.
"Fine be a bastard, I don't wanna talk to you anyways." Kisame snorted, meeting two red eyes next to him.
"What about you Itachi, wanna take bets on what gonna happen to her?." Kisame asked, however, Itachi was too busy sharpening a red handled dagger to pay him any mind.
"You too, damn it, I wish Deidara was here, personally I hate the guy, but at least he gives decent conversation. Come on Itachi, don't you wanna know whats gonna happen to your little brothers old teammate?" Setting the knife down Itachi shot him a glare that could make a lesser man weep.
"Must you be so annoying this early in the morning?" He asked seriously. Kisame just smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.
Itachi hardly ever spoke, however even the famous Itachi Uchiha was easily irked by anything that had to do with Saskue.
"What Kisame, are you sensitive to a poor little girls suffering?" Sasori mocked coldly. Kisame snorted loudly "Like I give a rats ass about some little girl, I just find the whole situation curious."
"You know, the curious get killed quicker. " Sasori stated darkly, putting the final touches on his new arm.
"Don't you really mean to say "curiosity killed the cat"?" Kisame fired back.
"Yes, but I like to stay away from such cliché metaphors." He stated proudly
Kisame rolled his eyes at the puppet master, and turned to his silent partner.
"Well, I guess it is what it is, what do you think Itachi, aren't you just a little interested in why Pein asked us three 'specifically' to come here and watch the girl."

As the night passed slowly, Sakura found her self suffering from insomnia. Laying in her bed and feeling like a fool she replayed the events over, and over in her head.
Burring her face in her pillow she sobbed loudly begging for forgiveness.
Ino may or may not be alive. All Sakura had to go by was Itachi, a man who had murdered his own clan, for no good reason. She could only figure he was simply messing with her.
However, there was always the chance that he was telling the truth, and right now that is the side she wanted to listen too.
After hours of silent crying all she could manage to do was let her mind drift off into random events that always ended in horrible tragedy for the people she loved.
Though she was pitiful, and full of desperation. Sakura still had faith that Kakashi would come and rescue her. He was the great Copy Ninja after all, and he had more heart, and bravery then all the Akatsuki members put together.
Yes! she decided boldly, he would come for her. Sakura was sure of it.
Though deep down she knew that the only way he would find her, was finding her rotting corpse in the middle of the forest.
With 'these' thoughts somehow Sakura managed to fall asleep, but it was not enough. She awoke only a few hours later, and spend the entire morning trying to think of a way out.
In mid after-noon Sasori came to get her, and Sakura once again felt the weight of the world crashing her shoulders.
"Good afternoon, little girl" Sasori said watching Sakura closely, she was dressed in white pants along with a matching mesh top that reached her hips.
She had been allowed to shower and eat lunch before hand. They had also replaced her torn knee high boots with a pair of, lace up, knee high black combat boots. Sakura had never seen shoes that completely covered her feet. She could only figure it was for the cold, and wet climate that Rain Country was burdened with.
A knot twisted in her gut when she looked at Sasori, who was still eyeing her dreamily. Sakura felt like telling him to go do something very inappropriate with his puppet self. Swallowing her inner selfs voice she took a deep breath.
"I want to talk to Pein before I start." She said sternly. Instead of arguing or making fun of her, Sasori simply nodded.
"Alright I'll take you to him, but first I have to take you to Kisame for your chakra draining." Sakura was a bit shocked that he was so willing, she expected him to fight her all the way trough.
After all it had been Sakura that had killed and humiliated him, leaving nothing but a faded name behind. Or, so she had thought. Surly he was still pissed about that.
Sakura nervously bite her lip as Sasori lead her down the hall. After following him through the maze of halls, he finally stopped at a large metal door in the middle of one of the hall ways .
"Kisame, I brought her." Sasori snapped annoyed into Kisame's door. After a few moment he began to glare at the metal. "Lazy brat, I hate being left waiting." He mumbled before a very blue, and shirtless Kisame opened it the door.
"What do you want doll boy? oh look it's Cherry Berry, too what do I owe this honor." he winked crossing his arms over his muscular blue chest. Sakura bit back her discomfort of the very fit shark-man.
"Pein wants you to drain her chakra, not all of it though." Sasori said untouched by his rude behavior.
"What are you having problems controlling one little girl Sasori?"
"This is an order from Pein himself, and you know how much I hate to wait." His voice dripped a threatened tone, the he raising his hand in the air making the chakra strings dance.
"Oh wait, I forgot this little girl can kick your puppet ass, so in order to save your life I must drain her chakra, I get it!" He mockingly said.
"I do not have the time for your stupidity." Sasroi snapped annoyed. Kisame rolled his eyes knowing that the fight would never lead to anywhere fun. Sasori was far to calm for an afternoon brawl, and Kisame was too hungover to care.
"What do you need it for anyways?" Kisame asked placing Samehade onto Sakura's shoulder.
"Nothing that concerns you, Kisame." Sasori snapped before he roughly turned away.
Sakura felt Samehade greedily sucking away her life force, and she held in the urge to vomit. It had very much surprised her that Kisame had no idea why she was here. "So what do I get out of this." Kisame asked winking at Sakura smugly.
Shivering grossly Sakura tuned her small body away from his.
"You get to keep your life you half witted fish, and now you have made me late." and with that Sasori turned away with Sakura cliched tightly in his grip. and lead her back down the hall way.
"See you later Cherry Berry." Kisame said happily before he slammed the door shut.

Pein stood there hands behind his back staring sharply into the next room. Sakura loosely played with her long shirt pulling at the sleeves tying to calm herself.
"I want you to start imminently ." He ordered not even turning around.
"First I want to talk about our deal." She snapped angrily. Pein turned to face her and glared hard.
"We already have our deal, Miss Haruno." Sakura bit her lip, "I just want to know what will happen if I can't save her." Pein snapped angrily his purple eyes shining bright.
"Trust me, you do not wish to know that answer. " Pein breathed harshly. He was not in the mood for games. Sakura swallowed hard, as she imaged screaming villagers and children. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes tightly for a moment.
Sakura breathed in so deep her lungs began to hurt, as Pein lead her trough two more doors before she finally entered the contained white hospital room.
The women was still laying perfectly still in the bed with her long blue hair surrounding her fragile face.
"I'm going to need some tools." Sakura added looking the women. Maybe they would give her something that could help her escape. Pein simply nodded, and took her list of tools and ingredients.
Glancing at the window there was no doubt Sasori was watching her from the one way mirrored window.
Wasting no time she began by placing two fingers onto Konan neck and then on her wrist.
Her pulse was weak.
Without knowing what was wrong Sakura knew she did not have long to live.
Pressing down a little, she shut her eyes and silently apologized to everyone for what she was about to do.
This blue haired women was barley holding on, and she did not seem to want to grip the edge anymore. Lost in apologetic though, Sakura shook at the sound of a women's voice.
"What are you doing?" Konan's small soft voice asked. Her eyes fell onto Konan's gray sight Losing her nerve Sakura fell back from the bed.
"Ah I."
"She is Haruno Sakura, I brought her here to treat you." Pein's voice boomed annoyed. Had he been watching her the whole time?.
"How are you feeling Konan?" Konans' eyes never glanced at Sakura, instead all her attention to him.
"I feel like my insides are trying to escape from my body." she said toneless, acting as if she was describing something very boring.
Pein looked at Sakura staring her down and his eyes spoke only two words
'Fix Her!' Green eyes narrowed at him, Sakura would not go down without a fight, and would do everything in her power to help end the the Akatsuki . Even if it meant helping this women.
Wasting no time, Sakura picked up the chart beside her, and began reading.
"Tell me when your symptoms are, and when' exactly' they started."
Konan sat up in her bed and, neatly placed in her lap her eyes were still fixed on Pein who was sitting on other side of the room watched quietly. He did not mutter a word, but Sakura felt as it they were communicating trough their minds.
Holding back the shivering feeling Sakura questioned her again by asking the same question as before.
"About three mouths ago I started having really bad indigestion and stomach pain, along with mild nausea, after a few weeks I starting feeling worse, and then after that I started coughing up blood." She said bluntly, pain hiding in her voice.
"You'v lost a lot of weight over that time, however you said you have only had light vomiting... tell me when was your last period?" Sakura said looking over her charts.
Konan's eyes snapped in annoyance, and kept her mouth shut. Sakura sighed. She hated dealing with uneasy patients.
"I have to know if i'm going to treat you everything is important.." She added looking at the glass mirror, Sakura couldn't blame Konan, she would not want to tell Pein about her minces either.
"It has nothing to do with that, my flower has not bled in eight years." Sakura might have laughed at her strange analogy, however her injecting tone made her bite her cheek bitterly.
"Okay, what exactly did the other medics say, did they give you any kind of a diagnosis." She asked seeing nothing useful on the charts or scans. She crossed the room and then glanced at the x-rays.
"They all said that I was dying." Konan hummed.
"How old are these X-rays?" Sakura asked ignoring her pessimism. Without warning Konan broke out into a deep and vigorous cough that seemed to shake the room. Blood shot from her mouth and splattered onto he bed.
Sakura made her way over hand gently on her back, and sent a bit of green chakra, to help with the pain. When she finally calmed down Saukra grabbed the cup of water sitting beside the bed. Konan drank deeply, before she noticed the spill of fresh blood staining her hand and the glass cup.
"Three weeks old." Pein spoke for Konan, who had fallen back into her bed with her chest breathing heavy.
Sighing, Saukra handed a tissue to Konan "I'm going to need to see all her X-rays, and I'm also need a urine, and blood sample."
With that Pein snapped his finger and two people entered the room, one was a man in her early forties with dirty blond hair, and the other was a older about in her sixties women with silk black hair pulled neatly into a bun.
They both looked very worn, and tired, the lines were heavy on their faces, giving away their age. Along with their white uniforms an Akatsuki symbol was pressed on each of their long sleeves. Indicating they would be no help in escaping.
"These are your aids, both are trained medics, and will asset you with anything you need." Both medics stood emotionless, they hardly seemed human.
Sakura swallow the lump in her mouth, there was no going back now.

The next day Sakura retuned to Konan's side.
Shockingly, Pein had not been there to nag her as he had the day before, Instead Sasori baby sat her trough the glass.
Yawning loudly she was feeling the effects from her lack of sleep. This made her limbs felt raw and sore, and Sakura had only had a bite to eat for breakfast.
Much to her shock though, he had not taken her back to Kisame, instead Sasori had warned her that if she acted up he would turn her into one of his puppets.
This milled the temptation and, since Sakura still had no idea how Sasori lived from their past fight. Or how he felt about getting killed by her. Trying to escape right now, would only boil the pot more.
If Sakura wanted to escape with all her body parts , she first needed to think of a sold plan.
Pushing all unnecessary thoughts from her head, Sakura turned back to Konan.
"Your kidneys are not failing, however I can't explain the blood in your stool, I was thinking it might be some kind of a type of genetic disorder." Sakura beamed to Konan while staring at the test results she had come up with only hours ago.
"I need you to tell me about your families medical history, anything you know could be helpful. " Sakura said glancing at the window. Konan started at her intensely before she turned her head away.
"I was orphaned as a child, I don't remember my parents." She answered simply.
"Were they Shinbi?" Sakura asked frowning. Konan simply stated at her.
Her face fell when Sakura thought about her own father who had died when she was young. She knew the pain of losing a parent to this harsh life style. Maybe it had been Konans parents deaths that had twisted her into the heartless monster she was today.
Staring blankly at her, Konan closed her eyes, and turned her body away.
'So much for that' Sakura thought dryly. After a few moments Sakura pushed her teeth together.
"I can't do this if she won't answer my questions." She scuffed in annoyance to the window. Working like this would be impossible, she secretly wanted the women to die, however if that happened Sakura knew her village would pay the price.
Finally, when the door cracked open, Sakura took that as being done for the day. Taking off her white coat Sakura left glaring at the dying women.
XXXXXXXXX
The next few days passed by on a cold haze, and Sakura could not find the diagnosis to what was killing Konan. All the personal information Sakura had learned was that her name was Konan, she was born in Rain Country, was orphaned during the war, and had no siblings or children.
Konan was being very unhelpful , and getting worse everyday. All the tests Sakura ran came back negative and, the only thing Sakura could be sure of was that Konan was suffering from some kind of ulcers.
However non of it seemed added up. She was throwing up blood regularly, her stool was black, and Konan was becoming more anemic. Sakura had many theories to test however Konan refused to let her run any exclusive tests. Pein had also not returned since the first day.
Sitting in her room she pressed her fingers to her temple and, resisted the urge to slam her head into the table.
Creaking her eyes open Sakura took a breath of relief, that is exactly what she needed. A nice nap had cleared her head and she was ready to get back to work. Stretched her arms a small sound escaped her lips as she stood.
Glancing at the clock, she wondered if Sasori would bring her dinner soon. Looking around her room she jumped at the sight of a very brood Itachi sitting lazily on her bed.
"What the hell are you doing?" She asked half panicked, however, there was a blue book in one hand, and a apple in the other. His robe was absent, and his hair was pulled back into a low pony tale.
Itachi appeared to be too absorbed in his book to be bothered with her. Instead he pushed a tray that was placed next to him to her. His red eyes shot up for a moment in warning, but he never spoke.
Sakura bit her lip, never before have she been commanded to consume food in complete silence.
"Sasori always brings me my food, why are you doing it?" Itachi kept his eyes set on the book and tapped the tray with his foot.
"Eat Sakura." She swallowed he was the only one here that called her by only her first name. The sound of her name is is lips gave her a an unwanted chill every time.
Again he kicked the tray with his foot, and she became afraid he would contaminate her dinner with his dirty shoe Sakura quickly rose grabbing the tray from his feet, and set it on the desk.
He made no attempt to move, but she was used to being watched like a dog. Sasori always stayed in the room while she ate, though he would never speak and instead would work silently on whatever project was in his hands. It had been awkward at first, but Sakura had gotten used to it. The silence between her and Sasori was relaxing since neither of them cared for mindless chat. However, Itachi had made it impossible for her to eat at ease. The Sharingan made her wary, and she made it a point to avoided his glaze like a infectious decease.
Stuffing a piece of bread into her mouth. the taste was bland and cold. Obviously it had been sitting there awhile. Her meals were always this simple. It was always some sort of soup, or meat with a slice a bread, sometimes Sasori would bring her an apple or peach. She could not complain though, for a prisoner, they did treat her pretty well.
"You didn't answer my question, what the hell are you doing here?" she scuffed again trying to break the silence. Itachi gracefully ignored her and instead turned a page in his book.
"Fine!" She huffed softly.
Silence completely overtook the room.
It was almost ironic that she would end up in this situation. She might have even laughed if she had not felt like crying. Trying her best to ignoring him, and to save herself from the silence she decided to busy herself with work. Sakura picked up an unopened tests results, that had been placed there. Miko had just finished a few tests for Sakura.
She refused her hold her breath though. It had been weeks, and there seemed to be no answer to her problem.
Holding her cup of hot tea in one hand she glancing at test results. Itachi''s eyes shifted from his novel to watch her instantly as she quickly read the material on front of her. She had always been a quick study, and it seemed to mildly impress him.
Turning back to his book, a smash hit the floor, and Itachi sat up on the bed to better assert the problem. Sakura's eyes remind glued to the paper. Whatever she read made her drop the cup on sight. Itachi shot her eyes up to her. Even if he would have asked what was wrong she would not be able to hear him.
In her hands lay the answer that would save her village, and seal her fate.
