(Thorin's Pov)

What in Aule's name just happened? I can hear the girl's words still ringing through my ears even though she spoke them yesterday.

"Well done King under the Mountain. Yes I know who you are, so does Sam. We could both tell when we saw you..."
"Will you allow us to join your company and quest to reclaim your home, Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thrain, son of Thror, King under the Mountain?"

How does she know this stuff? True almost everyone knows of the wizard but who would know of my quest outside of the dwarves. Should I when let her and her companions come with?

"How much longer? I hurt from being on horseback for so long." Rose's cousin is complaining again.

"How much riding have you done Mr. Ted?" I ask without really thinking about it.

"As far as I know my cousin has never ridden any equine in his life."

"You know damn well that ain't true...I have ridden on occasion...why do u think I'm still on this animal?"

"I have no clue cousin dearest." Rose said with her voice full of sarcasm

"Now do us all a favor a shut up! If you do not I will not stop Sami this time. Neither will Ashley. Isn't that right Ash?" she says before turning towards her friend, who had stopped Samantha from turning Rose's cousin mute this morning. The boy had been complaining since we left Bree.

"Why are we fallowing him again? He has already gotten us lost twice and it is getting dark."

"Who are you to question MY leadership?"

"Someone who has no clue who you are. So There for I can question your leadership all I want...and your sense of direction."

"Ted I told you he is a king. You can't speak to him like that. I know your mother would be ashamed and so am I."

It was rather amusing to watch as Rose landed a soft blow on her cousin's arm with each word she spoke during that last sentence. After she finished she came up to me.

"I have had enough of his gripping I will lead the way from here. I know exactly where we are on the map and where we need to get to. Also there should been a dwarven rune symbolizing services for hire on the right door. Correct?"

Again the girl's knowledge stuns me silent which she mistakenly takes as a yes. She passes my pony on her horse which is all white with a black strip on his forehead and black forelocks. The horse's mane is white with black tips. It was a handsome beast. Rose lead toward the top of the hill even though it was now dark I could make out the green door and it had the rune on it.

(Rose's Pov)

I know I probably should have taken the lead way back at Bree but it was nice, not having to be in charge for a little while. Besides it was rather amusing to watch the dwarf king struggle to find his way. That sounds cruel I know but coming from a completely different world and knowing where to go for the meeting when he doesn't amuses me. The only reason I ended up leading is because I was hungry. I had forgone breakfast and lunch again...even though I know that there will not be much food remaining at Bilbo's, twelve hungry dwarves could most likely eat at a fast food chain out of products in less than a year. I could hear the dwarves singing "That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!" and then laughing. I cracked a grin but as usual no full out smile appeared on my face. I had not laughed or smiled since Ted had betrayed me to Tj.

Bang. Bang. Bang. Thorin was rather irritated from the ride and took it out on the door. The laughing inside halted instantly. I don't know how but I could hear Gandalf say, "He is here." Thorin looked over at me. He looked like he was going to say something to but then the door opened causing him to turn towards the opening door. "Gandalf. I thought you said this place would be easy to find. We lost our way twice. Wouldn't have found it at all if it weren't for that mark on the door and this young woman who seemed to know her way around this endless maze." Thorin was saying as he walked in followed by my friends, my cousin and myself.

"Mark? There is no mark on that door it was painted a week ago." Bilbo interrupted.

"There is a mark. I put it there myself. Bilbo Baggins allow me to introduce the leader of our company Thorin Oakenshield."

"So this is the hobbit." Thorin said walking up to Bilbo. While Ted, the girls stood by the door forgotten, I got ready to intervene on poor Bilbo's behalf. "Tell me mister Baggins, have you done much fighting? Axe or Sword, what's your weapon of choice?"

"Well I do have some skill at conkers if you must know, but I fail to see why that's relevant."

"Thought as much. He looks more like a grocer than a burglar." All the dwarves laugh at that.

"Thorin don't take your annoyance with my cousin out on mister Baggins. Will you do the introductions? Or should I." I say drawing the attention away from the poor hobbit. Everyone looks at my little group.

"Thorin you should introduce the people you have brought with you. The lady shouldn't have to introduce herself." The wizard says to Thorin.

"These are the ladies Rose, Samantha and Ashley. The young man is Lady Rose's cousin Ted. They will be joining us on the quest if they can pass certain trails." Me and Sam bow when our names are said and the other two fallow suit. Knowing better than to go against my lead. I step forward.

"Thank you for that and for finally making up your mind on whether or not to allow us to accompany you Thorin. Also thank you Gandalf, I thought he would never get around to it. I am honored to meet you. You who is known by many names, Olórin, Mithrandir, Incánus, and Tharkûn to say but a few." The old wizard chuckles. "No my lady it is I who is honored."
