Sorry I haven't up loaded in a while, I have been bogged down with school work, and I have been really tired all the time. I promise that I will try to upload more frequently, and I'll probably write at least one chapter over the weekend, since it's a long weekend.
PoV Clary
The light burned into my retinas when I opened my eyes, blinding me. I groaned and turned my face into my pillow, trying to block out the light.
"Simon, close the curtain," I mumbled.
There wasn't a response from him. He must have been out.
My head pounded, my blood drumming in my ears heavily. I sat, my eyes closed, putting my feet on the cold floor. I knew something was wrong, but I couldn't figure it out. I stood, and my knees went weak beneath me.
I toppled to the floor, pulling the heat monitor from my chest accidentally. The machine went crazy, alarms ringing shrilly. Eyes wide, I took in the hospital room, utterly confused. I heard feet rushing to the room, rushing to my side. A doctor helped me up, placing the heart monitor back.
"Be more careful, okay, Cain?" he said with a smile.
"He's awake?" It was principle Hodge, the, as obviously stated, principle of the school. He walked in the door and smiled down at me. "How are, Cain?"
"I'm… okay." I winced as the light hit my eyes again. "You… am I going to be expelled?"
"Expelled?" Hodge exclaimed. "Why in heaven would we do that?"
"I… I'm not a guy…"
"I know that, Cain." Hodge smiled again. "I've known ever since the application."
"But…"
"It's okay, we've accepted transsexual students before, Cain," he said. "Why would we not allow you in?"
Just roll with it, Clary, I thought. "I don't know."
"Cain?" It was Jace, stood at the door, his cheek stitched up. He smiled when he saw me, and swiftly walked to my side. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay." I smiled at him, and Hodge awkwardly backed out of the room. "What happened?"
"Kirk," Jace muttered darkly. "He jumped you. I got to him before he did too much damage, but you had to get stitches."
"What happened to your cheek?"
"He's got sharp knuckles," Jace said with a smirk. "I'm better at fighting that him, though." He sat next to my on the bed, pulling me close to him. "But, surprisingly, it was Magnus who beat him. Honestly, I don't think I've ever been more afraid of someone than when Magnus turned all bat shit crazy on Kirk. I almost felt sorry for the guy."
I chuckled, but groaned inwardly as it hurt my head too much.
"Really, Magnus just… kicked the living shit out of him. Kirk was bleeding pretty badly when Alec pulled Magnus off him. Kirk was still conscious, and had gotten a few good punches in before Magnus really flipped out, but I don't think he'll be walking for a few months, I think Magnus broke his leg."
"If I didn't that night, I'll track him down and break his leg now," Magnus said, walking in the door, limping slightly, with Alec on his tail. "How you doing, baby?"
"I'm okay, will people stop asking me if I'm okay?" I snapped, instantly regretting opening my mouth. "I'm sorry, Magnus."
"It's fine, baby," he cooed, placing a cooling hand on my cheek. "You need anything?"
"I'd say food if I thought I could keep anything down." I shrugged, resting my head on Jace again. "How are you two?"
"I'm fine," Alec said quietly.
"Me, too," Magnus said. "Aside from this limp, I'm fine."
Alec stood, mumbled something about a vending machine, and left. Magnus sighed, looking after him.
"Sup with him?" I mumbled.
"He's been quiet since the attack," Jace said. "I haven't been able to get a word out of him since then."
"Well, last night was stressful," I said.
"Clary, it was two nights ago," Magnus said.
"What?" I looked up at Jace for confirmation. He nodded. "I missed my plane home."
"There's another one that the school's paying for," Magnus said. "Don't worry; you'll be home for Christmas."
"My mom must be freaking out," I said.
"Oh, she is," Simon said, walking in the door, his cheeks and nose red from the cold. "I just came from the school, been packing your travel stuff. Just in case you woke up soon."
"Oh, Simon," I said, opening my arms for a hug. "I'm so grateful for you."
"I love you, too, Clary," he said, smiling.
Jace pouted next to me, so I hugged him, too.
"Can anyone explain Alec's bad mood?" Simon asked.
"He feels like it's his fault I got beaten up," Magnus said, quietly. "Which is absurd, I would take a beating for him anyway."
"Maybe we should talk to him," I said.
"Yeah." Magnus nodded, smiling at me. "You can talk to him for me?"
I sighed, but nodded.
"Great, but I get the make-up make-out," Magnus said.
"Agreed," Jace and I said in unison.
