While the dwarves fully expected Kili to win the shootout, the girls believed otherwise. But even they had not expected this. Kili and Rose took aim at their targets. Both arrows hit their intended target, but Rose's hit the bull's eye. They shot again this time both arrows hitting the bull's eye but Rose's arrow robin hooded her first arrow. This went on for a good while, Rose's arrows robin hooding each other every time, while Kili's just it the bull's eye. The final time they took aim Rose shot two arrows while Kili shot 1. Rose's arrows not only robin hooded the arrows already in her target but also robin hooding on of Kili's arrows.
"Great job lass. You win but now you have several damaged arrows." Bofur said
"I know how to make more. I just need to reuse the fletching and tips of the original arrows."
"Are you ready for your next task?" Thorin went up to Rose and asked holding out her weapons."
"Yes. Which one of you will I be facing first?" Rose replied looking at her weapons trying to decide which ones to use.
"You will face us both at the same time."
"Oh."
"Are you ready lass?"
"Yes Dwalin I am ready." She said taking one of her swords and her axe.
The three fighters faced each other. Rose held her weapons tight in her hands. Dwalin moved to her right trying to get behind her so as to attack from the back. Rose took a step back assessing her opponents'' moves. Since he couldn't get around her, Dwalin charged while Thorin tried to get around on her other side. Rose spun deflecting Dwalin's blow with her sword and striking at Thorin with her axe. The flat of the axe blade hit his arm, and continued around till it hit Dwalin knocking him forward. Thorin swung his sword up to my neck, she blocked catching his blade with hers. She backed away for a moment to slip her axe into her belt so she could use her sword with both hands if need be. Then she charged at him fainting a blow towards his hip before twisting her blade up hitting his shoulder. When he tried to retaliate she flipped her sword so that the blade was down in her hand and the pommel was towards the top. She then used the pommel of the sword to hit his arm and spun once around in a tight circle to gain momentum. Using the momentum she had built up her blade collided with Thorin's causing his weapon to go flying from his hand. He had only a moment to be surprise before her blade was resting by his neck.
"Did I pass?" Rose asked as she drew her weapon away from his neck and sheathed it
"Yes My Lady you have passed. You are more than welcome to join my company, we will be glad of your skills. Balin where is the contract that Lady Samantha signed?"
"Here it is Thorin. If you have tasks that they each have to do and these girls have passed what must Lady Ashley, and Mister Ted do?"
"Lady Ashley what skills do you have? You don't look like a fighter but then again neither does Lady Rose here."
"I am learned in healing and herbs."
"Oin quiz her on her healing herbs."
~I am going to skip this part because I don't know anything about healing herbs but know that Ashley passed her test~
(Rose's Pov)
"Thorin what task must Ted pass?"
"We will leave him behind with the hobbit and see if the show up after we have ridden away. If they follow us then your cousin can sign a contract, it won't be the same one you and your friends signed. It will be similar to the one Mister Baggins has to sign, but still different. I suggest you retire for the night. It will be a long day tomorrow. I will have someone wake you if you have not already woken when it is time to leave."

"Excuse me Lady Rose it is time to get up. Thorin said that Lady Sam or Lady Ashley should know how to wake her if I am unable to." Ori said after attempting to wake a sleeping Rose. He finds Ashley in the kitchen gathering some more food supplies for the journey. When Ori asks if she will help him wake Rose she tells him to get Sami.
"She is the only one who has a chance of waking up Rose and keeping her head. The only other one who was always able to keep his head was he father before...but I will not tell what is not mine to say."
"I can't find Lady Sam."
"Then get Fili, Kili, Dwalin, or Thorin." poor Ori did as he was told. He found Fili and Kili first
"I couldn't wake Lady Rose up and Lady Ashley wouldn't wake her up and I couldn't find Lady Sam. So Lady Ashley said to have either you two or Dwalin, or Thorin wake her up."
"Don't worry Ori we will take care of it." the two youngest Durins took off down the hall towards the room where Rose was sleeping. When they got to her room and went in she was still asleep.
"You want to try to wake her up first?"
"Sure think Fee, too bad you're too scared to."
With that said Kili went up and yelled in her ear "Wake up! Or all the new silks will be gone."
Rose just turned over in her sleep. "Nice try little brother, but if you haven't noticed she isn't like other women I doubt the mention of shopping for anything other than weapons, or hunting gear would do much good. Now my turn."
Fili went up to Rose and half-said/half-yelled "Milady Rose, your cousin Ted insulted Thorin and he stole all your weapons."
"Where is he I'm going to kill him!" she yell jumping out of the bed knife in hand.
"Great Aule's beard! It's just Fili everything is ok. Ted didn't do anything. Why is there a knife in your hand? Why did your have it under your pillow?"
"Oh sorry old habit. Now get out so I can get ready to leave."
"Wow Rose you are a real dragon lady."
"Kili, my friend you have no idea just right you are." Rose said and shooed them out of her room.
(Thorin's Pov)
"Where is he I'm going to kill him!" I hear from down the hall. I would bet my crown and right rule that Rose has just been woken up. It sounds like Ori was unable to/ or too afraid to wake her himself, not that I blame him. When my nephews come out of her room Kili looked like I was angry with him. Nothing scared him more than that... until now it would seem. Fili looked startled but very amused, just like the time he and Kili managed to pull a prank on Dwalin.
"What have you two done this time?" I say faking exasperation. Kili looked like he was going to say something but closed and opened his mouth making gasping fish. Then he shrugged and walked away. I raised an eyebrow at his elder brother. He just gave me a look that said I wouldn't want to know. I walk into the nearby kitchen. Ashley is there gathering food.
"Would you please explain to me why when my nephews came out of Lady Rose's room one looked terrified and the other bemused."
"My guess is that one failed to wake the dragon while the other succeeded but wishes he hadn't. You are lucky they were asked to wake her. If it had been anyone other than them, Sami, Dwalin or yourself would be headless by now." Ashley said
"I will keep that in mind for the future, but surely you too would have been able to wake her without coming to any harm?"
"No, I would not have. She sleeps with knives under her pillow. It is an old habit of hers..."
I nod in acknowledgement. I go to where the majority of my company is eating. Lady Sam is there as well sitting beside Dwalin conversing on different weapons.
"Milady." I nod at her. She nods back and finishes up talking to Dwalin. Turning towards me she says, "From the shout I heard earlier I would guess Rose is now wake? Who had the daylights scared out of them may I ask?"
(No one's Pov)
"Fili and Kili. Though I would say I scared Kili worse than Fili. He was more amused after the shock of me waking with a knife in my hand wore off." Rose says coming out of the shadows. None had noticed her enter. Sam just smirked at her friend knowing the scare Rose would have given to the two youngest Durins. "No harm no foul. Hey Kili are your pants still dry? Or did you pee yourself when she woke yelling and waving that puny knife around. Who actually woke her up by the way?" Sami teases Kili.
"That would be Fee who managed to get her to wake. And my pants ARE dry thank you very much!" Kili snapped at her.
"Oh quit your griping I'm hungry were is breakfast, and don't anyone DARE say that Bombur ate it all. There had better be something for me to eat. If there is not..." Rose left the threat hanging in the air. They would break, every one broke eventually. Bofur brought out some food and slapped Bombur's hand when he tried to steal some of it.
After she had finished eating Rose went out to saddle her horse. Which she had named Cloud. Meanwhile everyone else was still inside.
"We have lingered long enough. Mount up we leave by nine." Thorin said.
Soon everyone except Ted and Bilbo were riding away from Bag-End.
~time skip~
It was almost eleven when the dwarves started making bets on wither or not the burglar and the boy were going to show up.
"My ladies would you like to join the betting?" Nori asked
"Nori put me down for 20 silver coins that they will show." Rose said
"I will match that bet Rose and Nori I also bet that Bilbo will show but not Ted."
"Same goes for me, but I only bet that Bilbo will show."
"Alright ladies. Who else wants to bet against the girls in our group? Anyone?"
"I bet against Lady Rose I bet 20 silver coins that neither will come." Thorin announced and many of the dwarves bet the same though in different amounts. About five minutes later they heard two voices. One saying, "Wait. Wait." while the other yelled, "Slow down I can't keep up!"
Every one halted their horses and waited for the two to catch up to them. After they had caught up Bilbo said, "I signed it." handing the contract to Balin. Who then looked it over and said, "Everything appears to be in order. Welcome Master Baggins to the company of Thorin Oakenshield."
"Give him a pony. Balin give a contract to young mister Ted."
