Sorry it's late again. I'm not doing too well at this, am I? I had finals last week, so that's why I didn't get one up last week. I'm a lazy git, and that's why there wasn't one up yesterday.
PoV Clary
It was late when I got back to my room. Simon looked up from his comic book, his glasses askew on his face. I smiled at him and sat on my bed, dropping my bag on the floor. I pulled off my shoes and tossed them to the foot of my bed, sighing.
"You look like a PDS sufferer," Simon said.
"A what?" I asked, looking over at him tiredly.
"A Partially Deceased Syndrome sufferer." Simon smiled and motioned to his laptop, which was open to a paused video. The screen displayed two sickly pale teens with yellowy white irises and pupils that looked like they had exploded. "In The Flesh. British TV show. It's cool. Got zombies. And gays."
"Oh, really?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said, looking back down at his comic. "Not quite as gay as Magnus, who isn't even gay, but gay zombies eye fucking into the next century."
"You want to talk about eye fucking?" I asked. "Have you seen Supernatural?"
He laughed and smiled at me again, reaching for his glasses case. "You might want to go to bed. It's New Years Eve tomorrow, you've got to be up for the fireworks."
"They have fireworks here?" I asked.
"Yeah," he answered. "Big and red and blue."
I changed into my pajamas while he put his glasses away.
"Well," he mumbled, crawling under his blankets. "Night."
"Night."
It was late when I got up. I was just in time for lunch.
"There he is!" Jordan said, pointing at me. "How have you been? I just got back, so I'm catching up."
"I've been good," I said. "Saw the girl you slept with on Hallowe'en on the plane ride back."
"She's so cute, don't you think?"
"Sorry," Jace said. "He's more into me."
"So you two finally hooked up, huh?" Jordan asked.
"About three months ago, Jor," Simon said.
"Jor?" Alec asked. "The fuck kind of nick-name is Jor?"
Simon looked down at his plate, blushing. "It's just something I came up with."
"Sorry," Alec muttered. "Didn't mean to make fun of you."
"S'okay." Simon smiled and slurped some noodles.
Jace pulled me down next to him, passing me more food. "Have something to eat, you slept through breakfast."
"It was nearly one when sh…" Simon shot a look at Jordan. "When he got back. Of course he slept in."
Jordan looked confused. "Why'd you nearly call him a she?"
"Because I'm in disguise," I whispered dramatically. "I'm really a girl."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"That's cool. I wouldn't like to dress up as the opposite gender, but only because I feel uncomfortable in skirts."
"Have you worn one before?" Alec asked.
"Haven't you?"
Everyone was quiet.
"Where's my snuggle muffin?!" Magnus yelled from the door.
"Snuggle muffin?" Simon asked, looking at Alec. "You criticize Jor but not snuggle muffin?"
"This is the first I've heard it," Alec said as Magnus wrapped his arms around Alec's shoulders and sat.
"I've missed you, baby," Magnus purred. "Where were you this morning?"
"I had to go back to my room or Jace would yell at me," Alec said, turning to look Magnus in the eyes.
Magnus rested his forehead on Alec's smiling in a goofy way. "I'm sure he'd have been fine. I had to…" Magnus whispered something into his boyfriend's ear, causing Alec to blush vibrantly. "And I had to do it all by myself."
Alec cleared his throat and looked at the rest of us, who were sat in silence. He looked back at Magnus, some of the blush receding. "I'm sorry. I would have been there to help. I promise it won't happen again."
"Okay, this just got really gay!" Jace exclaimed.
Simon laughed. "What, like your relationship isn't to the rest of the school?"
Jace shut up.
It was later that night when we all sat around a little make shift camp fire on the commons. Magnus and Alec were wrapped in each other, kissing and touching and caressing. Simon was sat near them, continuously moving his glasses up his nose and trying to read a book. He glanced over at them every now and then, a blush rising on his face.
"Stop being so gay!" Jordan yelled in a cockney accent. "Or I'll smash ya, pooftahs!"
"The actual fuck, Jordan?" Alec asked, pulling away from Magnus.
"It's what homophobic Londoners sound like…?"
"My aunt lives in London and her son does not sound like that."
"Hush up, the fireworks are starting!" Jace said. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and leaned back.
I curled up next to him, my head on his chest, looking up at the explosions. They burst apart in the air, their sparkling tails trailing them, the deafening sound a constant in the air.
"I love you," Jace whispered.
I shifted to look at him, my chin resting on his shoulder. It was going to be a wonderful New Year. It was, I could feel it. I would have Jace, and Simon, and Magnus and Alec. I would have friends and family.
"I love you, too, Jace," I said. "I really do."
