A/N: Hello, people! Thank you for the good feedback for the first chapter!

I don't own Harry Potter.

I have no beta.

ENJOY!

Tom Marvolo Riddle, preferably referred to by his acronym, Lord Voldemort, sat beside the fire in his 'study'. If one could even call it that. Truthfully, when he had sealed part of himself into his diary to create his Horcrux, he hadn't envisioned it to be this boring.

Time wore on, though how much time passed, he didn't know. His original plan to seal part of his soul away in order to live forever, had never factored this outcome into the equation. Boredom, and a lot of it.

He never thought he'd be aware during the time his soul piece was sealed within the diary, but he was. Somehow he had constructed a room for himself. It was vast, larger than Hogwarts' library and had many more books as well. While it was nice and everything, there was a slight problem. There were no exits. No doors, windows, grates, vents and the fireplace wasn't made of real fire, it was just an illusion that appeared like a burning flame. So, there wasn't a chimney either.

The fireplace was on the ground floor, with several lovely cushioned sofas littered about the carpeted floor. Every inch of the room was covered in books of all sizes! The same went for the other three levels of the library.

Tom knew he'd been in there a long time. His reasoning, was that there were exactly fifty-five million books in his library(all that he had read within his lifetime) and he had read them all ten times since his sealing.

Setting down, 'History of Slytherin', Tom gazed into the ever-burning fire. Was this really how it was going to be for all eternity? Sitting in this room wishing something would happen? Anything?

He couldn't eat or sleep, reading was no longer entertaining to him, he was wasting away. Not into nothing of course he still existed, but he was barely there and had no reason to want to be. There was no hope for anything.

So, when a jolt of powerful magic rippled through the room, rolling down his spine and reducing him to the most pleasurable tingles he had ever experienced, his eyes zeroed in on the book. It was his diary, sitting innocently on the only table in the room. A special quill lay beside it, one that didn't require ink. It had come from that.

The magic and the reaction he had to it, meant that his diary was in the possession of someone who was very powerful. And they were writing in it! The excitement that filled him in that moment could never be replicated by another living being. It was that unmatched.

He rushed over to the table and sat in one of the chairs. Opening the book up to the first page, he glorified at seeing the words appearing quickly, in an elegant script.

Harry Potter. A powerful wizard of the House of Potter had somehow gotten a hold of his diary. This was good. Very good. He wondered at the age of the child.

October 31st, 1998, was it? Well over fifty years he had been sealed within the diary. So many things could've changed in that amount of time.

His diary was actually in the possession of a young woman, who seemed to be ranting. He pulled away briefly and pondered. Should he continue reading? Women were exceedingly emotional creatures and he didn't wish to read about her sadness at not procuring her desired escort for a ball of some sort. However, as he looked around the room, he was horribly reminded that he had nothing else to do, so he looked back to the book and continued on from where he left off.

After reading a paragraph, Tom lifted his head and stared at the far wall once more. Could a one year old child really defeat a powerful dark wizard? But if she had gained a title for doing so, a title such as the 'Girl Who Lived', then she must have.

She was eighteen year old born July 31st, if his calculations were correct. She had been shipped off to live with her muggle mother's sister and her husband. From her description, they were just as bad as the people in the orphanage were, maybe even worse. Where Tom was bullied and called a freak, he never had to clean the building or cook all the meals. Sure he was often punished and starved, but to be starved after making an entire meal, just seemed so much worse. His disdain for muggles just increased the more she revealed about her 'family'.

They tried to keep her magic from her. They abused her regularly and as a fellow halfblood orphan who went through what he once believed to be hell on earth, he could sympathize with the child. He personally wanted to murder the muggles who dared raise a hand to a powerful magical child, especially one who was revered as the savior of the Wizarding World. How dare they!

She liked Hagrid, of all people?! Then again, from the way the story seemed to go, he rescued her from her 'family', and introduced her to the world that she had been denied for so long. He could understand her affection for the half giant. He confirmed that she wasn't the 'freak' she had always been called and instead told her of how special she truly was. Though he never liked Hagrid much, he found himself respecting the large brute, a little.

She did not like the fame she was showered with. A strange reaction for a girl. One would think that someone who had never been given good attention once in their life would absorb such things as fame and glory like a sponge. Yet, she seemed slightly unnerved about it all.

Of course people would expect perfection from the 'Girl Who Lived'. She was a legend in their world and most probably didn't know of the horrible upbringing the girl had. That was why they heaped all those expectations on her shoulders and why she struggled.

He found the subject of her sorting, quite interesting. Never in all his years at Hogwarts, did a sorting take more than ten seconds and he had never heard of the Sorting Hat arguing with someone on where they should go. The hat had been dead set on Slytherin, but because of a foolish boy, Slytherin possibly lost someone invaluable.

It was good that she was supposed to be a Slytherin. Tom knew that she was powerful, and had enough magic in her core to give him a body again without killing her. If she joined him in his quest, then there was nothing they couldn't do together. All that power under his control and her Slytherin mind would only make it easier for him to get what he desired.

He wanted to wring the neck of the person who got the girl to deny her inner Slytherin. The youngest Quidditch player in a century. Though he was never one for the sport, he still wanted Slytherin to excel in everything and defeat the other Houses. It was in his nature.

The dark wizard that she had defeated as a child had returned, though he didn't have a body of his own and was just possessing the body of the Defense teacher. Tom was impressed with all the girl and her friends had to go through in order to stop him from acquiring the legendary Sorcerer's Stone. Why did Dumbledore have a Cerberus in the school? Why couldn't he just protect the stone himself? He fancied himself strong enough in Tom's day, so why not do it on his own instead of leaving it in the hands of a bunch of children? He rolled his eyes, Dumbledore was off his rocker.

The girl was courting danger. That had to be the answer as to why she would willingly go and face a man who could possibly kill her, all on her own. She also must have Felix Felicis running through her veins in order for her to make it out alive and well. She must be insane!

And then her incredible ability to dance with death just seems to follow her to her second year, where a convicted madman was out for her blood!

Two years at Hogwarts and not once did he read anything about her love interests. Her story was more of an adventure than a romance. He wondered is she was a normal girl at all. Or maybe the constant having to watch her back for danger just switched her priorities around.

Tom had never encountered a Dementor before but he knew enough about them to be disgusted. He also felt a small dose of fear when she admitted to having been kissed five times! Why the bloody hell did Dumbledore allow them onto the school grounds?! The convict wasn't that much of threat where he'd put all the children in danger!

It was one thing for Dementors to be on the school grounds, but for them to target one student in particular was bad. Very bad. And the way she described The Kiss and how she could hear her dying mother, just made him uneasy. All of this and Dumbledore still refused to remove the blasted creatures from the grounds?

He was mildly impressed to read that she had mastered the Patronus Charm. Even he couldn't do that, but it was only because he didn't have any good memories. Still, a second year mastering such a charm was impressive no matter what anyone said. And to have such a competent professor teaching Defense was good. He was doing what Dumbledore was supposed to be doing, acting like a grown up and protecting his student. Though it was disturbing that apparently he was friends with the escaped convict.

She used an Invisibility Cloak! She had one! He'd personally never seen one before, but he knew for a fact that they were extremely rare. How did she come across one?

Tom was basically ripping his hair out. He wanted the whole story concerning Sirius Black and how he possibly ended up being good! Convicts didn't just convince the people that they were innocent! And a Werewolf of all things was involved!

She was in possession of a Time-Turner as well. And she changed the past for her own gain. Was that even allowed?

If he was going to get to know this girl, he was going to get the whole story out of her. It was maddening how much detail she left out!

Dementors in the muggle world! Those things didn't just appear like that without some kind of order. The fact that they targeted Harry specifically meant that they were ordered, but by who?

The Ministry had to be run by a group of idiots because the fact that they would try and convict a child all for defending herself, is ridiculous! They could've taken the memory from her without the use of a trial! The fact that they needed a trial meant that someone had something against the girl and wanted to see her sacked.

And the woman who became the new Defense teacher seemed absolutely dreadful! The woman had to have been insane, to tell a school of children that there was no such things evil and dark wizards and that they'd never need to learn how to defend themselves. That's what DADA was for! Defense!

Blood Quills were illegal and how dare the old bitch use them on students! Never in his day, would a teacher get away with doing that to a student. Them being a worker from the Ministry mattered not when it was the welfare of the student that was on the line.

Tom was certain that things in the future were a lot different from in his time, but he still felt that the rules the woman put in place were the most ridiculous rules to ever exist!

He liked the idea of a club to teach the other students Defense, though he did not agree with the name.

She gave up valuable time to teach a group of students how to defend themselves in tough times. And the fact that the Slytherin students were foolish enough to side with a woman who was taking away every privilege given at Hogwarts, meant that the newer generations weren't the brightest. He was offended.

Tom was so engrossed in the life of this girl, he found himself actually relieved that the atrocious woman was caught and tried for what she did. A relief that she was gone and that Dumbledore was back. At least the old fool was lenient with some things, making that woman appear as the worst Headmaster in Hogwarts' history.

Her fourth year was also full of excitement. The Triwizard Tournament was never held while Tom attended Hogwarts, but he had heard of it and knew enough about it to know that it was dangerous and only for the skilled and not for the faint of heart. He had a very bad feeling.

Even with the rule against underage witches and wizards competing, there were ways to go around such rules. There was always a way.

The girl was a very private person and he could believe that she wouldn't want any more attention. Why would she lie in her own diary? She seemed the type to run and hide from the kind of attention the tournament promised.

And she was called! That meant that someone had put her name in. Either a student who thought they were being hilarious or a teacher with a grudge. The possibilities were endless really.

Tom was not pleased to read that everyone abandoned her in her time of need. After everything she had done for the school just in her few years and they were so ready to turn their backs on her. And her best friend was the worst of them all! Was that really what Gryffindors were like in the nineties? He knew several Gryffindors that would be disappointed in such actions.

She only had a few who were still on her side during that time period and everyone cast her away.

Once again, Tom found himself respecting Hagrid a little more. He had been one of the few who stayed with Harry during her time of need and had even helped her cheat in the competition! He laughed at her logic about telling the Hufflepuff boy. If the others cheated, then why couldn't she? It was definitely the Slytherin mentality speaking!

Tom may not have been a Dragon Tamer, nor ever really show an interest in them, but he had read books on them. There were four in the library he was in alone. He knew the Hungarian Horntail was the most ferocious of all dragons and the chances of facing one and living, were slim. Since she was obviously alive to be writing about it, she survived, but there was no conceivable way she got out without injury. Just none.

They took nesting mothers and had them guarding fake eggs! Trying to go near the eggs would make them irate and make it very dangerous for the champion to retrieve their egg. What was Dumbledore thinking, or was it the Ministry that was at fault?

He sighed in relief as she described getting away from the dragon, though he wished that she had put more detail. The whole story would have been grand.

Tom scoffed at the fair-weather actions of her 'friends'. So they immediately leave her when she needs them, but as soon as she defeats a dragon and gets her egg, ensuring that she continues on in the competition, they're all friends again and everything is fine. And not just the Gryffindors, but nearly everyone!

She listed the people who were on her side the entire time, despite the drama and he was concerned about which one of the nine weren't considered important to her. She talked about the Hermione girl often and he hoped it wasn't her.

So her next task was held in the Black Lake. Mermaids could be a literal pain to handle and he could only hope there were no issues during it, because there were more creatures in the lake. Not just a squid and mer-people.

One of the faithful friends lent a hand and she discovered the disgusting qualities of Gillyweed. And Myrtle(he shuddered at the thought of her) had even helped her.

The Gryffindor side of her was showing. She refused to leave the other captives until everyone had saved their person. Though it was kind of her and all, she didn't really have to do it. And he wondered if it was even appreciated or not. People would probably forget about it soon enough. They seemed to do that a lot.

The creature that they managed to put in the last task, were ridiculous! Where did they attain a Sphinx and an Acromantula?! He had a feeling that Hagrid was behind most of it. The great brute always loved creatures of all sorts.

Tom was dying to know who this Dark Wizard was. And why would he go to such lengths over one girl? He didn't see a point in it. But to use her blood in such a way to resurrect himself, tied them together on a very personal level. Such a ritual would link them and make it so that their blood was bound. Because he had her blood, only she could kill him and vice versa. Those types of rituals were of the darkest of magic.

She got away, that was good. But he was more interested in the fact that they had brother wands. Wands only connected when they possessed brother cores. He read that in a book he found in the library. He had read that book ten times during his sealing. To have brother wands, was a very special situation and it was sad that the possessors of such, were enemies.

He wanted to know the name of the wizard and badly!

So the Defense professor was the one who entered her in the tournament and betrayed her to the Dark Wizard. He should have guessed, seeing as she never seemed to have a normal Defense professor.

She gave away one thousand Galleons! Sure she was wealthy, but seriously, she didn't want to get herself new clothing or a broom or something? She really gave it away to two tricksters. He sighed, this girl was too selfless or stupid, he didn't really know which.

Slughorn! He was still alive! And Dumbledore had him teaching Potions once more. Would the man ever die?

Tom liked the fact that Harry seemed to have a backbone and wouldn't cower, even to a professor who hated her. That was good. It meant that she, even though she was an orphan who grew up with disgusting muggles who abused her, had fortitude and that was an important thing in the real world. She'd be eaten alive otherwise.

Another Slytherin answer! She learned an entire collection of Dark Spells and didn't feel bad about it. Not at all.

Knowledge was power. If he hadn't been in Slytherin, he would have made a perfect Ravenclaw. Power was important in life and knowledge was power. Just as time was money. These were philosophies that would help further one along and held important aspects in shaping character. So, the fact that she wasn't against learning what was necessary to survive, meant that she could be influenced, in the correct way of course. It wouldn't do to have her as a mindless drone only following orders and having no personality. She was too powerful and extraordinary to do that to. It would be a waste.

Occlumency. She could occlude which would make it harder to get into her mind. However, it was a blessing in disguise that she couldn't use Legilimency. That would go against what he was planning. This way, she would be easier to control.

He was surprised that she managed to learn at all from a teacher that hated her very existence and made it a point to let her know every time they saw one another. Tom would have cursed the fool, professor or not.

Ah…the intelligence shows through. Her O.W.L. scores were very good. He could only wonder if the Snape man knew she passed with an O. That would have been a great reaction to witness.

The magical world of the future must have been severely dangerous. With all the deaths she was speaking of, it seemed that this dark wizard was aiming to kill all muggleborns and muggles. Though he wasn't a fan of either, still, attacking children was not okay. If this person was going to attack those sort of families at least kill the children too. Leaving the magical children as orphans, who would probably be stuck in orphanages, was a horrible fate. Some would even have to leave Hogwarts, which was the safest place he knew of.

He shook his head. Fifty years really changed things, it seemed.

He continued to read and paled considerably. She knew of Horcruxes and said that Slughorn had told the dark wizard about what they were and how to make them!

As far as he knew, Slughorn hadn't told anyone, but him about Horcruxes. He had a very bad feeling about what he was about to read, but forged onward, because he had to know!

Dumbledore died, which meant that Hogwarts was no longer safe. The dark wizards had overtaken the school, the children were in danger. The future seemed incredibly bleak and dark. He didn't like this part of the story.

The dread was growing. Tom had a very bad feeling about who this dark lord was. The fact that the girl's family had to move and then several people had to polyjuice themselves into her just to move her from place to place, was ridiculous! Why was this dark wizard so fixed on killing one girl anyway?

Tom could honestly say, that no book he had ever read, could have enough action and adventure to fill even a quarter of what this girl had been through.

They knew of Horcruxes. By now, Tom had no doubt who the dark wizard was. But with every line he was reading, he was only hoping that it wasn't who he thought.

If it was really him, then something horrible must have happened. Yes he was Lord Voldemort and wanted immortality, but all the killing he had read about and the torture, wasn't something he planned on. And he would never attack Hogwarts! It was his home! And then to continuously attack a young girl all because she didn't die, was insane!

There had to be another reason!

Death. She had managed to kill him. And his fears were realized. His true self, had become so twisted and dark. It was a disappointment. And embarrassing beyond all reason.

What had happened o hm? Was it the Horcruxes? He made so many!

Wait! She had written that they destroyed all the Horcruxes, but they really didn't! Without the diary, he had made five others. That was six. He was the only one left and if he came back, he could start all over. Since Harry Potter had killed his insane self, he could return and change things. For the better.

Yes, that's what he could do.

He looked down, to see several more paragraphs had been written. He had to catch up.

She was talking about betrayal. Something happened and everyone had turned their backs on her because of her , 'talent'? A small list of people still believed her and were her friends, but she was alone. Her so called 'friends' ignoring her.

After everything she had done for them and they suddenly turn on her because she has a 'talent' that people consider dark?

She went on to complain about the ineptitude of that year's Defense professor. And then described the dueling they all had done. He wasn't surprised that she was the best. Everything he had read so far was enough to convince him. And he could feel her magic pulsing through the diary. She was powerful.

The Malfoy boy summoned a cobra in a room full of students. Fool! The danger that one snake could pose. And it went even worse because the Lockhart fellow didn't know what the bloody hell he was doing!

The future needed a complete rehauling. The fact that such incompetence was allowed in the school to teach the children was unforgivable!

Tom sighed. Times definitely changed and not for the better, that was for certain.

Returning his attention to the diary, he felt his mouth drop as he read her experience at a muggle zoo. She was a Parselmouth!

Her entire rant in this book was because the world pretty much turned on her for being able to talk to snakes. How daft were people in the future. Seriously, that determines that she's evil, even after all she did for them!

He knew for a fact that she wasn't the heir of Slytherin. That was him. But still...the prejudicial shite had to stop.

They were cousins! Distant, but still related. If he played his cards right, he could return to full form, without killing the girl and acquire her assistance. Of course she would have to use another name, because she now knew that Voldemort's real name was Tom Riddle. But he could use this to his advantage. And if offered the correct amount, the Goblins would hold no opposition to assisting him in fabricating some documents.

Yes, this could work. He could erase his future self's influence and bring the Wizarding World back to its' former greatness. Yes, that was what he would do.

So who should he tell her he was? She didn't say Marvolo when she mentioned his name. And since she knew of his ancestors, he could pass himself off as a soul piece or memory of Marvolo Gaunt. The Goblins would have no issue with that. Or he could come up with something else, but Marvolo sounded good. Yes, that would be his name from now on.

With Harry's political power and monetary power, combined with his own money and intelligence, they could take over without a problem. The British Ministry obviously needed a lot of work. And then Hogwarts.

She was coming to the close of her entry. She seemed to be even more annoyed since she had been writing for three hours and no one had entered the dormitory once.

A few more words and she closed with a farewell and her name. Harrietta Jaemi Potter.

He sat back in the hard chair and pondered the new development. At least he would no longer be bored. With a plan to work towards, his life would have more meaning. And he could start by absorbing her magic. Since she had so much, she would never notice the small string siphoning it from her daily.

With a nod to himself, he placed his hands over the book and concentrated. Feeling around for her magical signature, he latched onto it with a smirk.

"Now it begins."

He gave a low chuckle. This would work. He would see to it.
