A/N: This isn't a really long chapter but it is a chapter. It's much easier for me to post many short chapters and I hope you can forgive me for doing that.

Thank you, Morwen80 for the beta-reading, I would be lost without you.

Please review and tell me if you liked the story and constructive criticism is also welcome.

Enjoy!

Elrond lay on the bed; he was pale, did not move and was terribly cold. His temperature sank from too hot to too cold in only half an hour. Celebrian was by his side and stroked his hair. They still had not found an antidote against the poison and Celebrian began to lose hope.

Elladan and Nuriel came into the room; Nuriel flinched as she saw Elrond.

She couldn't help herself, but she felt it was her fault that he was poisoned.

Celebrian looked at Elladan and Nuriel and said:

"Elladan your grandparents will arrive tomorrow, maybe my mother can help."

She looked at Nuriel:

"And you must be Nuriel. Welcome to Imladris, I'm Celebrian, Elladan's and Elrohir's mother and Elrond's wife. I don't know if you've already met our daughter Arwen but I'm sure you could be good friends."

Nuriel smiled, Celebrian was really nice, as everyone of the family was, but she was not quite sure she really deserved the kindness she was treated with. Her smile disappeared and was replaced with a horrified expression as she glanced towards Elrond. His lips were blue, he could not breathe properly, and his breath hitched in his chest. He was trying to get air into his lungs but was failing miserably.

Celebrian took a balm and spread it over on his chest and fed him some tea with Athelas, mint and an antidote against most poisons.

After a few minutes, Elrond was able to breathe properly again and Nuriel and Elladan relaxed visibly. Celebrian smiled exhaustedly:
"This happens every two hours, I guess I should have warned you, sorry, don't worry too much about it. This evening, just go to the great hall and enjoy yourselves. Nuriel is surely interested in Imladris, just don't move too much around she is still wounded."

Elladan nodded and took Nuriel's hand:
"Care for a dance, my lady?"

Nuriel just laughed and nodded and the two headed to the great hall.

Celebrian stayed at Elrond's side and hoped for the best. Her mother was their only chance, hopefully she would come soon and they could heal Elrond. She was not sure if she could survive without Elrond.

The days went by painfully slow and they were full of sorrow, but they went by. Elrond was still unconscious and became thinner and thinner, the healer couldn't feed him, they tried but every time they fed him something, he would throw everything up again, which could be very dangerous with Elrond unconscious. Elrond could choke on his own vomit and besides the tragic death, it was not a nice way for the famous Elf-lord who had lived through the greatest wars to die, chocking on his own vomit.

Besides that, Elrond could get fewer and less air in his lungs and the poison still spread through his body and nobody could do anything against it.
