"How are you doing?" miranda asked softly.
"Ugghh" Gary moaned down the phone.
"Is it that bad?!"
"I have Man Flu"
"Man flu?" Miranda tried stop her laughter.
"Yeah" Gary coughed.
"I'll see you when I get home"
"Love you"
"Wrap up warm, I love you too"
"Is that Gary?" Stevie asked.
"Yep, think's he's got man flu"
"That's funny, Thomas thinks he's got that too" Sarah laughed.
"Brothers ehh?!" Miranda smiled.
They reached the coffee shop and went in, sitting at the table nearest the window.
Sarah went to order whilst Miranda and Stevie had a little chat.
"Since you got with Gary you've really grown up"
"You think?"
"Yeh, you've even got a mortgage..."
"I still have my cupboard full of fruit friends"
"Fruit friends, the twins are obsessed with them"
" I aim to please"Miranda teased as she thanked Sarah for her coffee.
"Anyway, hows packing going?"
"Good, its just so weird, saying goodbye to the flat, so many memories."
"Well,I'm pretty sure you and Gary will create many memories in your new house.." Stevie smiled.
"Good thing, its further away so my what I call mother won't pop around as much to emmbarass me"
Everyone laughed.
A few hours later Miranda went home after saying goodbye to Stevie and Sarah.
She went to let herself in and relized she had left her keys, so she rang the bell.
Gary opened the door wearing a plain black hoodie, grey jogging bottoms and his glasses. His hair was gloriously ruffled and he looked adorable.
"Are you home?!" He smiled letting her in ad he sniffed up.
"Possibly, how you feeling?"
"Drugged up, them pills your mum gave me work a treat" he lent against the kitchen counter and folded his arms.
"Well, you should be on bed rest"
"I've been asleep most of the day" he smiled pulling her in for a hug, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Miranda snuggled her head against his chest under his chin.
"Good day?!"
"Yep, ive had a lovely time"
"How were they?!"
"They both send there love"
"Dont I feel special!" Gary teased kissing her head. "Oh, I was sorting some of my junk out earlier and found something"
"What?"
"I'l show you" Gary coughed taking her hand leading her through to the bedroom.
He laid on his side of the bed and pulled Miranda up to him, handing her an old photo album.
She snuggled up to him and opened it.
On the inside cover read "Uni- Graduate Year 1996"
The first photo was always Gary's favorite. A group photo, there little gang at the skate park they always went to, Miranda, him, Stevie, George, Ben Jordan and Eloise. They were some of there favorite memories of university life, weekends hanging out at the skate park, the guys competing to do the best tricks, rushing around like kids whilst the girls cheered them on lustfully.
"I wonder if the park is still there?!"Miranda spoke softly.
"I have no idea,I hope it is though..."
Miranda turned the page, more photos of there little group. A bare chested Gary with his skate board behind his neck, hands dangling over the top.
"Aww, your cap! You thought that cap made you so cool!" Miranda teased running her fingers over the photo, he had his cap on backwards, his long hair dangling over his face. "Ahh, the days of the long hair!"
"The amount of timesI had to swoop it off of my face" Gary laughed.
They carried on looking through the photos.
"That ones my favorite" Miranda smiled tapping the page.
It was the same day, a long haired, bare chest Gary kissing Miranda's cheek as she wore his cap with her arms around his shoulder.
"You've always had a thing for steeling my caps" Gary teased jabbing her in the side.
His voice was croaky and it made him sound even more sexy. "Wait until you see the next one"
Miranda flipped the page and it wasGary. Laid in a hospital bed, his leg up in plaster, he was bare chested having just returned from surgery, and of course had his cap on being the jokey idiot he naturally is.
"Blimey,I remember that day!" Miranda laughed.
"I learned a valuable lesson that day.."
"Really"
"Yeh don't compete with Jordan to make your own big ramp out of old wood and a few nails"
"How many operations did you actually have?!"
"Like, 4. But I'd do it all again in a heart beat" he smiled looking at the photo closely.
"I miss the old days"Miranda sighed.
"So do i, but one day our kids gonna grow up and make memories like we did... and see will always be making more..." he kissed her spflty on the lips before cuddling back down.
They looked through the rest of the photos. Various nights out, days out an music festivals.
Miranda noticed to boxes on the floor. "Gary's old stuff"
She looked in them to see some of Garys old LP's, multiple photo albums of his childhood, his cap and a robot. Miranda picked up the robot and looked st it closely, "Aww... was this yours" his old skateboard was stood against the boxes.
"Yeh, Mr Zorg" Gary laughed.
Miranda started to play with him.
"Be careful he's fragile" Gary said suddenly. "My grandad got me him for Christmas when I was like 5.."
"Hes adorable" Miranda smiled laying back on the bed.
Gary curled up behind her and fell asleep within minutes.
Miranda soon followed.
