CHAPTER 20 - Found Out
•~Annabelle Cullen~•
He threw himself across the room and pulled me off my seat into his embrace. His strong arms wrapped around my small frame, his head buried in my thick hair. My face was pushed against his chest. I breathed in his scent; he smelt like apples and cinnamon. He smelt like home.
He let go, seemingly reluctant, and tucked me under one arm. Daddy looked down at me with such adoration in his eyes. I forgot it made me feel. Without looking up towards them, he introduced me to the rest of his family. "This is Annabelle," I grinned when he used my original – most preferred – name to the others. He looked up to his family now and noticed him flinch at what he saw. "She's my daughter," Daddy finished in a quieter tone.
"You're daughter?!" Rosalie spluttered with a hysterical edge. Before she had spoken, everyone was slowly developing grins on their faces bust now they seemed frozen - not moving, not breathing, just watching. "How do we know that?" she asked haughtily, standing up and slowly begun to circle Daddy and I.
What on earth had I done to deserve that reaction? She was friendly to me before she found out that I was Daddy's long lost...daughter. Wait just a second. Was that why she's now raging? Just because I'm his biological daughter?
"How do we know you haven't just made everything up?" Rosalie hissed in my face as she passed. I didn't react to her in the slightest – that's not a fraction of 'scary' that I have been forced to experience with the Volturi. She thinks I've bloody made all of that up. How dare she stand there and accuse of such a thing – in my own home too!
Wanting to know what her problem was, I pushed my mental shield into her mind; it didn't take long to find what I was searching for. She was completely blinded with jealousy because she wasn't the one with the child. For this, the thoughts that I found were aimed at Daddy, and consisted of hatred for what I'm not sure.
Not wanting to see anymore of her poisonous thoughts I withdrew from Rosalie's mind. From the corner of my eye, I could see Jasper flinching from the emotions cloaking the room, mainly emitting from Rosalie.
But what she said next made me see red. "Why would Carlisle even want to believe he's related to scum lik-"
Slamming my shields out to surround her, I violently thrust Rosalie off her feet, into the air. "Now let me stop you right there, Blondie!" I growled, cutting her off. Her eyes went wide suddenly and everyone surrounding us was now on their feet.
"How dare you come into my home as a guest, only to then make me out to be something I am not? What reason do I have to even about lying about my existence?" Trying to reign in my anger, I continued. "You should be ashamed of yourself if you see Carlisle that way. He gave you a second chance and this is how you repay him. I know my father better than anyone here does, and I know, for some odd reason, he sensed something from within you the day he saved you. You're just goddamn lucky it was he who found you, because if it were me, I wouldn't have given you a second glance, not after the things I've found out about you." My voice turned dark as the words poured from my mouth.
You're so blinded by the fact that he's my Daddy. That he has a child and you don't," my voice grew icy.
Her eyes flashed with shock. "H-how did you-" Rosalie began to question.
"Never. Underestimate. Me." I said slowly, word by word, so she would understand. "That might just be the wisest move you will ever do," I paused after my little warning. "Now, get out of my home and don't come back until your jealously stops clouding your judgement." After I said my piece, I released her from the bind, and let her drop to the floor. "Go!" I ordered.
Rosalie looked taken aback by the fierce glare that I pierced her with. Someone had yet spoken up for her in her defence. She just turned on the spot and fled the house.
Emmett was staring after where Rosalie had just exited. He smiled apologetically at me before darting off after her. I genuinely feel sorry for him. I let out a gush of air as my attempt to calm down. Finding my way back to the sofa, I sat with my head in my hands as though I had a massive headache.
The silence was broken by Esmé's soft voice. "Was Rosalie really jealous of Carlisle?" she asked in disbelief. There was no answer except for Edward, Jasper and I nodding our heads slowly.
"Annie, are you okay, my child?" Daddy asked carefully, as he knelt in front of me; his voice full of concern.
"I'm well, Daddy," I replied with a smile. Reality caught up with me again when I realised that he hadn't long found out about me, and vice versa.
Daddy took my hand gently and held them in his, both of us enjoying the contact and comfort we had so surely missed. Looking down at our hands, I noticed a silver ring on Daddy's right hand, the pattern seeming extremely familiar somehow...
Our family crest! Of course, it's on my locket.
Snatching my hands from my Daddy's hold, I fished in my jacket pockets in search of the necklace. Before I came back in the house, I subtly slid it into one, to keep it out of sight. Daddy was about to ask me something, probably if something was wrong, but his breath was caught as I pulled the locket out by the chain from my left side pocket.
"Is that...?" he tried to ask, shock evident in his voice.
I nodded my head. "I thought you might have wanted it back," I said, grinning at his expression.
"What is it, Carlisle?" Alice asked as Daddy was blocking their view of the ancient piece of jewellery.
"It's my locket. It has the very first Cullen Family crest carved into it. Originally it came from my grandfather, passed onto my father and then to me," he reached out and carefully took it from my hand. "My last night as a mortal, was the same night I passed this onto Annabelle. I..." Daddy began to say something else, but his eyes went blank...like he was stuck in a memory.
"You promised you'd return to me," I finished for him, a sad smile edged its way onto my lips.
Daddy lifted his hurt eyes to meet with mine. "I'm so sorry, Annabelle, please forgive me," he pleaded, sounding wounded.
"I have already forgiven you. I had done not long after you went missing all those years ago. It wasn't your fault, Daddy, remember that." I told him.
"Could we...talk sometime soon? Catch up on what we've missed?" he asked me, hoping filling up in his eyes.
"I wouldn't miss it," I chirped. Daddy scooped me up into another embrace, and whispered a 'thank you' into my ear.
Putting me down, he dug into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. "I've got to make a call to Aro..." I didn't hear the rest of what he said after that. My mind just clouded over.
"Wh-who did you just say?" I asked Daddy, trying my best to stay calm, but I didn't succeed.
He stilled at the tone in my voice, "Aro, Leader of the Volturi coven. Why?" Daddy questioned cautiously.
Tearing my eyes away from him, my entire body started to shake as anger and betrayal begun to fill me up. I vaguely heard Jasper gasp from the force of my emotions, as well as Javonn racing into the room, obviously feeling the same. The rest of my family following swiftly behind him.
"What happened?!" Niklas demanded to no one in particular.
"She got all angry after Carlisle mentioned he was going to give Aro, a friend of ours, a quick call," Alice explained quickly, being as helpful as she could.
"Oh no..." was Niklas' only reply. Now they understand.
"I'm going to kill him," I promised them all.

Comments from Reviews for Chapter Nineteen:
- Megz7398 - Thank you so much! I'm happy you found it cute :D
- Guest - I'm not sure who she will be mated with yet, but I doubt it will be Edward...he doesn't really fit the bill for Annie's character.
- Doragon no Namida - I'm trying to think how I can work in a new character at the moment, who could potentially become Annie's mate. And yeah, I might pair Edward and Bella together like the canon, not sure yet though.
- BonnieBlueNinja - No! Please don't flip over your computer, otherwise you cannot read any more fanfiction! ;) But loving the enthusiasm though!
