Emmett's POV

Jasper, Peter, Maria, and I were downstairs in the small, dark basement. My arms were crossed, resting against my chest. I smiled and looked at Jasper and nodded. He nodded back, happy at his work that he's done. Maria approved Jasper, as usual, and Peter kept his figure still. Garrett came back down the stairs, with Benjamin. Benjamin was very useful, for his gift. Personality wise, he was like… Carlisle. Nice and caring, until you crossed. I've seen Carlisle's bad side and we all, now, have seen Benjamin's. We especially use Benjamin for his gift, the four elements: fire, water, air, and earth. Right now, we were using fire. It was the perfect torture tool to get vampires to speak.

Vastel saw Benjamin again, and the fear came back to his eyes. All of us gave a small smirk, ready to hear his agony until he told us what he was hiding. Sadly, we couldn't use Edward to figure out what he was thinking. Somehow, he was blocking Edward. So, in other words, he was useless.

Alice told us what Vastel said to her and Jasper flipped the hell out. Not only was he pissed, but Edward and I were as well. We wanted to rip the little bastard's head off. Then Isabella told me she heard what Vastel had said to Alice then told me that Vastel was planning something big and it had to do something with that cellphone he was hiding. So, we've been torturing him to give us some answers, yet he wouldn't. So, to keep the girls out of this, we told them to figure out the history of what he was doing on that phone. However, it wasn't registered, making it harder to figure out who he's been talking to.

And the more he wouldn't tell us, the more we suspected him of hiding something. Isabella also told us not to believe anything he said before, to make it seem like he was lying to us the entire time. Eleazar, who can tell people what gift they have, thinks that lying was his gift. If he lies and we believe it, it comes true. But he wasn't one hundred percent sure. Now we just needed to know what the hell he was hiding.

I smirked at Benjamin and gave him to go ahead to torch his ass. Like usual, Vastel was screaming in pain. All he needs to do is tell us, instead of going through this agony. Even I can't handle fire, no vampire can. It's painful.

"Are you ready to talk yet? Because I can go a step further." Jasper whispered.

Vastel started laughing in his seat. He just grinned at all of us. "You're all going to die."

Jasper grabbed his throat. "No, we're not. I can tell that you're afraid…."

"He's working with the Volturi." Maria whispered. I looked at her, hoping she was getting to what I thought she was getting to. "Why else would he say we're all going to die? He's been working with the Volturi. They wouldn't have known we were at that island. Luckily for us, Alice was able to see past you. You're helping them, aren't you?"

"I think I found a way to get past your lies, get Maggie down here." Peter said.

I walked up the stairs, looking for Maggie. Everyone else, who was upstairs, was either figuring out the things on Vastel's phone, listening, or figuring out all the lies Vastel has told us. Maggie was sitting at the computer with Alice, who was looking through Vastel's phone.

Siobhan came up to me, with a frown on her face. "Do you really need her?"

"Yes. Vastel's gift is to lie. Maggie can tell is someone is lying and I think Peter has found a way to work through that." I whispered. "Don't worry, we won't let anything happen to her. You can come with us, if you want."

"No." She said. "Just… don't torture him in front of her."

I nodded at her. And continued to walk to Maggie. I kneeled by her, as she watched Alice play with the phone.

"Hey, Maggie." I said. "Can you help us with something, downstairs?"

Maggie only nodded. The girl was silent, hard to tell what she was feeling. Sometimes I think that something happened to her, traumatically. I don't know.

We walked down the stairs, Vastel still in the same position he was, this time very quiet. Peter walked over to Maggie, with a small smile.

"Maggie, we believe that you are Vastel's counteract for his gift. You can tell when someone's lying. I think we have found a way to figure out if he's lying or not. So, what I'm going to do is say something he's told us before, something that we've believed, for example, Vastel is blocking Edward's thoughts, is that true?" Peter asked.

Maggie shook her head no. It worked. And Eleazar was right, Vastel was gifted.

"Am I really going to die?" I asked.

"It's hard to tell with that one." She said. "But directly from Aro, no, it's a lie."

I suddenly heard the basement door open and saw Isabella's angry face. I thought she was going to come down here and kill Vastel. But she closed the door and sat on the stairs, watching us.

"What else has he told us?" Maria asked.

"Demons, Volturi, the 'other side' gate being open…"

"All of those are lies."

"So demons don't exist, he is working for the Volturi, and this other side probably doesn't exist as well, meaning that the all of the people who have come back to life never did and every supernatural being can actually die." Peter said. "And all those six generations of Volturi guards don't actually exist. They're dead."

"Yes." Maggie whispered.

I saw Isabella shaking her head at Vastel. Hell, she'd kill him herself if we still didn't need him. But what the hell would we need him for now? Isabella specifically told us not to kill him.

"Tell me why I can't kill him again?" I asked her.

She smiled at me. "I was thinking that he would need him for something else. However, I can't seem to have an idea of what. The girls have figured out what he was using that phone for. He's been calling the Volturi. We don't need him for anything." She said. "In other words, go ahead and kill him. He's useless. Maggie, how about you come with me please?"

Maggie actually made me laugh for what she did next. She looked at Vastel and whispered bye with a big grin on her face. I laughed and turned to Vastel. He knows he was going to die.

"You can't kill me. You need me." He whispered.

"And you really expect me to believe that?" I asked. "Any of us? You're done here."

"I promise, I can help you. Please. I'll tell you everything. And that's the truth." He was begging for his life. I personally wanted him dead, as well as Jasper.

"No." I simply said.

"Bye." Maria said.

We easily tore him apart and burned his body. That was one problem gone, now we just have to worry about the Volturi. The only way they would be able to defeat every single one of us was if they had witnesses. But, of course, those witnesses would be forced to join their group. Let's just hope these witnesses really wouldn't go against us, if this was the case.

I sighed and we walked back upstairs. The others were sitting upstairs, looking defeated or confused.

"What should we do now?" Abby asked. "Do they know we're here?"

"Probably."

"Do we stay and fight? Or do we pack up and find another house?" Isabella asked. "Are we ready?"

Everyone looked at each other for answers. We didn't exactly know what to do anymore. I'm sure the Volturi knew about every single one of us. Including the girls Isabella has changed. Dominic didn't know what to do. No one knew. So, we've made our decision.

Isabella's POV

We've started to pack up our luggage, ready to leave this place. I hate this. I hate that they have ways of figuring out what we were doing. I sighed and looked at the house again. This is the third time we've had to move. But I knew we had to. We weren't ready to take on the Volturi. We weren't trained enough. We've spent our days worrying, moving, and figuring out who was lying to us, which turned out to be Vastel. I cannot believe I believed all of his lies. I'm sure an idiot.

I sat down with all the girls as the guys packed up the car. Esme came to sit with me, smiling at the same time.

"I've never really got to sit down with you and talk. I guess this is the only time as the guys are packing up the cars." She said. "How are you?"

"I'm… alright. Very upset. But, we can't change that, now can we?" I said.

"I suppose not." She said. "Though, I'm sort of happy this happened. I don't lose my son, the Volturi doesn't have their old guard, nothing truly happened. The only downfall is that the Volturi know where we are."

"Yes, that is true." I said. "Usually Emmett's the one to get everyone in a good mood. I guess it's your turn."

She gave a small smile and watched the guys load the truck. Most of my girls were sitting around me, waiting to get into the car. The only problem was we didn't know where we were heading next. We also weren't going to split up to find another place, we've decided to stick together. Now we just needed some type of house to fit us all.

Emmett looked at me, a little sad. He knew I was tired of moving around, waiting for the Volturi to make their next, etcetera…. We just weren't ready to do anything. We were so far behind and Vastel knew that. He did everything on purpose, to make us weak, to make us surprised and not ready to fight. It was their plan the entire time. The part that pissed me off the most was that I have never seen Vastel. So where did he actually come from? And even more, Elijah, my brother, is not actually alive. Right when we figured out that Vastel's gift was to lie and we figured out what lies he had told us, Elijah disappeared. He was never alive, damn bastard. I think that's what pissed me off the most. Now, I was going to make the Volturi pay for what they've done to me.

My anger was all that was pushing me.

"The cars are loaded." Emmett said. "Where are we heading?" I had no idea, so I just shrugged. Emmett kissed my forehead and sighed. "Well, we need to move. The Volturi could arrive any moment."

I nodded at him and we loaded the car, accordingly. I was with Emmett, Dominic, Carlisle, Esme, Peter, and Charlotte. We were the leading car. Dominic, who was driving, looked at me, wondering where we were going.

"Just drive… we'll figure it out." I whispered. "Everyone, follow the car. If something happens, like the Volturi showing up, split up. We'll figure something out. As of right now, we're just getting the hell out of here."

For a while, as we were trying to leave, I was entirely tense. I thought the Volturi were going to show up, but I didn't know. For two hours, we have been already driving far away from that place, but still, I was afraid.

"Isabella..." I heard Jasper say from another car. "We're away from that place… the Volturi isn't coming. We're safe."

Emmett patted my head and made me lean against him on his chest.

"Are my girls okay?" I asked. I got many "I'm fine's" coming from the different cars. I knew they were scared. It's like fighting their creators all over again, this time I actually felt threatened.

I sighed against Emmett's chest and decided to close my eyes, which is all I wanted to do. I ended up falling asleep, being awakened by a nightmare. I jerked awake, but kept still to not move Emmett. Carlisle, Peter, Emmett, and Dominic were trying to figure out where we were going. Honestly, I still didn't know where we were going. The only place I could think of was going back to Shelton, Washington. Back to home, but I didn't want that. I didn't want to worry about the Volturi coming to my home and destroying it, as well as the town. But really, where will we go right now? We're just driving around South America looking for a home.

I felt Emmett kiss my head. "You awake?"

"Yeah."

"We didn't mean to awaken you, Isabella." Dominic whispered.

"It's alright." I whispered.

Emmett pulled me into his lap and cradled me like a baby. I honestly hated when he did that, it made me feel weak. But, right now, as he did it, I felt… safe. I felt love and comfort. He smiled at me and kissed my head again.

I didn't say anything and closed my eyes. I ended up falling asleep again, being that I was so comfortable. This time I didn't have any type of nightmare. This was the most relaxed I've felt since I've started this mess.

About an hour later, I woke up in the seat, at the gas station.

We were in far from Salta, which is what we needed. I heard the others talking about getting a hotel room, just trying to stay off the streets for a while. They wanted to talk to me about it, until Emmett told them not to bother me. I didn't mind getting a hotel room, I just wanted to be away from the Volturi as much as possible.

I quickly closed my eyes when the others came back into the car. They've decided to get a hotel room, a whole bunch of suites. Yes, we'll be packed, but it's been like that for a while now. We had no other choice.

When we found a hotel that had enough rooms for all of us, probably six to eight rooms for everyone, I finally sat up. Emmett told me they've decided to get a hotel room, which I've already known. I nodded and he held my hand, leading all of us into the hotel. The receptionist was very surprised to watch us all walk in. Though I didn't know what she was saying. Luckily Carmen, coming from a Spanish background, was able to translate most of the things she was telling us.

Finally, half an hour later, we were able to get the rooms. We walked upstairs, some being on other floors than the others. We made sure to split up the people accordingly, just in case something were to happen. After getting everyone situated, Emmett and I, and whoever was staying with me, walked to our room.

For a while, I stared out the window, not saying a word to anyone. I was listening, making sure everyone was alright, making sure the Volturi didn't pop out of nowhere.

I felt Emmett's presence near me, but I didn't acknowledge him.

"Are you alright?" He asked. "You haven't said a word since you've awaken."

I nodded at him, trying to give him a small smile. I didn't tell him that I was concerned, since he already knows I am. But I also didn't tell him about my horrible gut feeling again. I felt like Caius was watching me, watching my every move. Like when we found out Vastel was working for the Volturi, I felt like he was here… again, waiting for us.

"Come on, let's take a bath." He said, holding out his hand.

I gave a small chuckle. "A vampire taking a bath. Highly interesting."

"Please. It's not the first time you've done it." He said. "Come on.

"I sighed and let Emmett lead me to the bathroom. The others in the room, Dominic, Peter, Charlotte, Esme, and Carlisle were talking amongst themselves, trying not to pay attention to any of us.

Emmett ran the bath water, but I just stood there, staring at it.

"What's wrong now?" Emmett asked.

"Something's wrong." I said. "It's too quiet. This town…" Then the feeling became even deeper than it should have been. I didn't like it.

I walked out of the bathroom and order Peter and Dominic to get everyone to come here. Once they left, I looked out the window of the hotel room.

The streets were entirely empty, at least I thought it was… All the humans that lived in this small town of Argentina were gone or, for some strange reason, completely silent.

"Bella, what's going on?" I heard someone ask. Everyone was cramped into this small room.

"Listen… It's quiet." I said.

Then I saw them… All of them. The Volturi. Caius was looking up towards the window… Smiling at me.

The Volturi… they were here.

SSSSSSSSOOOOOOO Sorry for the super long wait. Being a senior in high school, very hard. Just applying for colleges… anyways no excuses.

Because this chapter took a month and a half to come out, I've been already working on the next chapter. Expect it to come out on Sunday… possibly. Depends on how everything is. Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed this chapter. And hope you're not too mad at me for making this come out late.
