Chapter 6
Over the next few weeks, despite his family's efforts, Leo's health deteriorated. He became weaker and weaker before slowly slipping away with his family at his side and Astra clutching his hand.
After Leo's body was burned and his brothers set out to scatter his ashes on three continents, as was the eldest's wish, the first being the farmhouse, the next the Ancient One's realm in Japan, and the last a village where he resided for his training in Latin America.
Upon their return they found Astra and Splinter quietly packing Leo's things up and crying. Splinter had mounted the eldest's sword in the living room with a picture of Leo in a graceful Kata above them.
Most of Leo's books and his journals were in Splinter's room, a few of the books were sitting on his brother's beds along with a birthday present for the coming month that Leo had intended for them.
Leo's sheets, his pillows, his furniture were all neatly packed away and the room was now empty save the boxes of the few odds and ends Leo owned.
It was a beginning of letting go and the knowledge that the leader of the clan was no longer there to lead them.
Leo had left private letters to all of them, words of love and strength and Astra seemed determined to help in any way that she could.
