blessed with beauty and rage

She hid it well. Kol would give her that much at least.

He watched the baby blonde prance around with a high voice and bubbly smile, wrap Nik around her dainty little finger, organize high school dances, choreograph cheer-leading routines, and manage two club committees, all while sipping away at bloodbags and trying to keep her friends in some kind of order, maintaining the fantasy of perfection she obviously had in mind.

Caroline Forbes had them all fooled with that semblance, except for him.

Everyone but Kol Mikaelson.

Her mother saw a flawless daughter

Her friends looked at her and were content with the imagine of a pretty young vampire that strove for perfection and control in every aspect of life.

His brother idolized all the parts of himself that he regretted losing over their thousand years, seeing all that he neglected in her beautiful smile and strong demeanor.

Caroline Forbes had fooled them all.

But, Caroline Forbes didn't fool him.

He'd always been good at finding the darkest ones, even if they masked it with a bright persona.

When Kol looked at her, meeting those green-blue eyes from across the Mystic Grill - where she sat with applications to a million different colleges - he saw the darkness that she pushed deep down, and the fear that it would bottle over.

Her friends would hold her up on a pedestal of self-control. He'd prefer if she'd forget it all in a second. The baby blonde would be much more fun if she gave into her inhibitions and let the freedom of being a vampire take her over.

Nik would dress her in white and picture her with a halo round her pretty hair. He'd much prefer her clad in black and drenched in the blood of her victims.

She made it her life's mission to keep those around her happy, but Kol knew that she'd be the happy one if she tore out all their hearts and took control of her own life.

He flashed the baby blonde a devilish grin as he sauntered over to her table, feigning ignorance to that stack of papers and coloured highlighters around her. She rolled those green-blue eyes and summoned a glare onto her face.

"What do you want?" She interrogated with obvious distaste, but his devilish grin only widened.

Caroline Forbes had fooled them all.

But, Caroline Forbes didn't fool him.

He was certain that with a little push, she'd be a psychopath just like him.
