"Did you think we wouldn't bother you anymore, now that you're out of clan territory? Did you think that we'd leave forever?" Snarled Mudclaw. "You know... Your nightmare earlier, wasn't completely false... We gave that dream to you..."
"Wait what? The only thing true about it is that Skycloud wasn't near me!"
"Don't be too sure, kitty"
"Why does everyone keep calling me that?" She screeched.
"You haven't caught on yet, stupid mousebrain."
"Caught onto what?"
"You... Aren't... On... Clan... Territory. Skycloud hid that from you."
Frostbites fur was bristling now.
"OW! Frostbite what in the name of Starclan was that for?" She heard Skycloud's voice and opened her eyes to find him bleeding.
"I'm so sorry, Skycloud!"
"It's okay. But are you?"
"Yeah.. I'm um fine... I just need to stretch my legs."
Skycloud helped her up again and leaned against her while walking into the clearing.
"Where is everyone?" Frostbite asked.
"They're... Um hunting."
"Sure... Where are we?"
Time to test him.
"Windclan territory."
"Are you sure?"
"Um... Yeah, what's with all the questions?"
"I didn't ask that many."
"True. Do you want to go back to sleep?"
"I've only been sleeping."
"Good point, um... Do you want to eat?"
"Starving!"
They walked over to the prey pile and picked out a mouse and a thrush. They layed down under a pine tree.
"Skycloud." Fallenstar signaled him to come over.
Skycloud got up and walked over to Fallenstar who was a couple mouse lengths away. They were just barely within earshot of Frostbite.
"You didn't tell her where we were right?" Fallenstars voice sounded barely like a whisper.
"Of course not, I told her we were in Windclan territory."
"Okay."
Skycloud padded back over and Frostbite had gone back to eating as he was turning around.
"What was that about?" Frostbite asked after he sat back down.
"What? Oh... That um... It was nothing, he just wanted to know how you were..."
"Sure."
"You don't believe me?"
"How can I believe you when I know that you're lying?"
"But I'm not."
"But you are."
"Got proof?"
"I could hear you talking..."
"That would be proof..."
"So, will you tell me where we are?"
"Umm... You're not going to like it..."
"Oh please!"
"We are... Um... On rug territory." He mumbled the last few words.
"On what territory?"
"Reg."
"What?"
"Rouge."
Frostbite hissed. "Squirrelclaw and his band of rouges are after me and the best place to hide is rouge territory! What next? You're going to tell me that the cats missing are either dead or off battling the rouges?"
"You guessed it..."
"Are you insane?" She screeched.
"Frostbite calm down." Emberstream meowed from behind her.
She whipped around and glared at him.
"Calm down? You want me to calm down! You were all keeping secrets from me and expect me not to be mad! You are just as bad as he is!"
She limped away and went back to her nest.
"I need to apologize to her." She heard Skycloud's voice.
"Nope, after the fight you two just had, I don't trust her alone with you." Someone else meowed.
Must be the cat guarding me, making sure I don't get killed in my sleep.
"Are you crazy? Frostbite would never hurt me! If she wanted to, she would have already!"
"I don't trust her, I'm the guard, suck it up."
Frostbite heard Skycloud growl and walk away.
Why would he hide it from me? If he told the truth I wouldn't have been as mad. He's not telling me something... He's still hiding stuff from me otherwise he would have fought harder to see me. But what could he be hiding?
Frostbite layed down and rested her head on a pile of moss. She turned and layed on her back, then on her other side, then her belly. Frostbite couldn't get comfortable. She stood up and limped out of the den.
Now that I'm mad at Skycloud, I have to manage on my own...
She limped across the clearing, away from Skycloud.
I want to be by him so badly... No! He lied to me plus he still hiding something!
Too late. Skycloud was walking over to her. He sat down next to her.
"Frostbite, I don't expect you to forgive me." He started. " but I truly am sorry, I didn't want to tell you because you'd feel like we gave up too easily and didn't care. The truth is, we left because you were hurt too badly and we couldn't risk anyone near you except me and Fallenstar. Also, three warriors died trying to protect you, almost five."
"What do you mean almost five? Who were the other two?"
"Fallenstar and I."
"Skycloud I do forgive you. I only got mad because you hid it from me. But we can't live here forever. You need to get every living warrior here so they can heal. Once everyone is healed, we all go into battle. It was our territory first."
"Okay I'll send some cats out."
Skycloud ran to find two cats that can deliver the message of retreat.
