"It's.. Concerning Kira...

Or rather...

Me."

Sayu froze, the smile fading from her face as she closed the door. "What..? Kira?"

Light nodded, looking down, his amber eyes unable to meet his sister's. "I didn't mean for you to find out this way.." "But Light.. Why.." She was too shocked to speak, her brother couldn't be Kira. Light sighed faintly and shrugged. "I don't know, Sayu.. I don't know.. But it was a stupid, horrible idea.. And I'm sorry.." He mumbled, ashamed. "But Light, you.. You were.. Killing people!" She covered her mouth, a few tears in her eyes. She still wouldn't believe it.

"Sayu,please.. Keep your voice down. If Dad finds out he'd be forced to tell L and then hell knows what'll happen to me.." Light urged, amber eyes looking up at his sister. Sayu nodded and looked down at the floorboard before continuing, "How did you do it...?" "A note book.. You write down someone's name and they die 40 seconds later.. That's why I was doing every night in my room, I was killing criminals that I saw on TV.." Light mumbled, keep his voice down. "A notebook.." She repeated softly, "Can I.. See it?" She was honestly curious.

Light nodded once before adding strictly, "But under no circumstances are you allowed to touch it, understood?" "Okay." Sayu nodded quickly although she didn't understand why, but didn't bother to ask. "There's things I don't want you to see.." Glancing up in the corner of the room, he watched Ryuk grin at him. "Lets just say that there's someone in that corner of the room who only the people who have touched the notebook.. A death god." The brunette reached into his back pocket and pulled out the black book. "A d-death God?" Her eyes widened, looking up to the corner of the room even though all she saw was nothing. Sayu thought about attempting to touch the notebook although Light wouldn't be happy if she did, and she honestly didn't know if she wanted to see. "Death Note.." She read the name on the cover softly.

"In another words: A Shinigami." Light muttered, watching her read the cover with slightly saddened eyes. "But don't worry... I don't plan on using it again any time soon.." "Good." Sayu nodded slowly and she looked up at Light. She could tell he was sincerely sorry. "Hey.. All those people on TV who said Kira was evil.. You're not evil." She gave him a soft smile. The brunette shook his head."Kira is evil.. Light Yagami isn't." He explained, smiling faintly. "That's right." Sayu nodded and looked away from the notebook. "What are you going to do now?"

Light shoved it back into his pocket, exhaling slowly and crossing his arms. "Hopefully.. After the killings haven't happened for a few weeks.. The police force will think Kira is finished and will drop the case.." "Okay." Sayu nodded again. "I'm sure that will be the case." She spoke optimistically. "Yeah.." Light smiled and nodded."Thank you for trusting me, Sayu.." "Of course Light." She smiled, "Don't worry I won't tell anyone." She told him in a reassuring voice and yawned softly, since this was the time she usually went to sleep. "Thank you.. Well, I'll let you sleep. I'm heading off aswell." He chuckled lightly and gave her a quick hug before leaving. She hugged him back and said goodnight, closing the door after he left.

Beyond had changed into everything except his shirt, since he was still tracing the scars in his chest absentmindedly and distractedly thinking about the fire. Light entered his room again and closed the door behind him, resting his back against it and letting out a deep sigh of relief. He glanced up at Beyond. "B? Are you alright?" Beyond jumped, covering his chest with the shirt. "Y-Yeah I'm fine." He hadn't even heard Light come in until he spoke, but he knew Light already saw.

Light watched him quietly before stepping forward, pulling the shirt from his chest and looking at the scars, eyebrows furrowing slightly. B's heart pounded in his chest, eyeing Light's facial expressing as he stared at those ugly scars.. "Don't look.." He spoke quietly even though he made no attempt to move away. The sad part was that B's chest was actually pretty toned, and would've been perfect had it not been for the scars. "They're not that bad.." Light mumbled softly, gently tracing one with his fingers, leaning up and kissing the raven softly.

"Yes they are.." B shook his head but returned the kiss. He stayed still for Light to touch the scar. "They're awful. I hate them." "I quite like them." The brunette chuckled softly and offered the older male a genuine smIle. "You do..?" Beyond's eyebrows shot up, Light had to be lying for his sake.. But why did it sound so genuine?

Light nodded slightly."I'm not kidding. I quite like scars.. It's an odd fascination of mine." Beyond sighed in relief, "I'm glad you said that.." He made no attempt to cover his scars, even if he couldn't like them he'd rather Light did. Light smiled softly and leaned down, kissing on only the scars that started from his left collar bone, right down to the start of his left rib. Beyond blushed a light pink, biting his lip. It tickled a bit but it also made his heart flutter in a way he didn't think he'd ever feel again. He watched Light kiss the scars with a soft smile on his lips.

"Scars show us the pain we've been through and how strong it's made us.." The brunette mumbled against his heated skin before pulling away. Beyond nodded, "Yeah.." He looked down at his scars, suddenly they didn't seem so ugly like before. He traced the particularly long one that ran all the way down his chest with his finger before looking behind him for the shirt. Light leaned over and picked up the shirt, handing it to him with a soft smile.

"Thank you." B smiled, referring to his reaction of the scars more than him handing over his shirt. He pulled it on and was glad to cover his chest, feeling warmer. Light smiled softly and nodded, reaching for Beyond's hand to pull him towards the bed."Come on, I need some rest." He yawned. "Okay." B crawled into bed next to him even though he was only a little tired. He snuggled into Light's chest, hugging his arm. He liked the warmth from Light, it made him feel comfortable and safe.

Light chuckled softly and wrapped an arm around him, hugging him close as he closed his eyes. "Hey, um, Raito?" Beyond smiled as he spoke quietly, his eyes closed. "Raito? You're calling me that now, are you?" Light smiled and laughed softly. "I prefer that anyway.. What is it?" B laughed, he figured he'd like that better. "I love you..."

"I love you too..." The younger male yawned, saying it more easily this time as he curled up with the other. "Good." B mumbled, maybe he was a little tired after all...

Light slid his hands under Beyond's shirt to rest on the skin of his heated back, sighing contently as he drifted off. B fell asleep immediately after, feeling calmer than he had in a long time, knowing Light still loved him even for his scars and all.

When Light awoke, it was around 6am. He yawned tiredly and grudgingly pushed himself up, smiling lightly as he slowly removed the arm from around his waist and got up, deciding to wake up the raven after he showered. B stirred a bit in his sleep, frowning when he didn't feel Light, his source of warmth. He hugged a pillow, mistaking it for the other as he mumbled in his sleep. The brunette watched him for a moment before grabbing his school clothes and leaving the room. Snickering, he grabbed a towel from the laundry room and entered the bathroom.

Light stepped out of the shower and dried himself off before changing into his school clothes, fiddling with his school tie and opening the bathroom window to let out the steam. It was the midst of summer so it was fairly hot, so Light didn't bother looking too neat. He walked out of the bathroom pushing up his sleeves."Hey, Rue! Time to get up." He called from the doorway, testing out his new name.

Beyond's eyes snapped open as he stirred awake, recognizing his real name even in his sleep. Could it be..? For a second, he'd been foolish enough to think he was back in his bed as a four year old child, his Mother calling him for breakfast in the morning. Once he realized it was Light he relaxed, rubbing his eyes. "What time is it?" He mumbled. "6:30. Get up or we'll be late." Light explained, walking into the room and throwing the folded school clothes at Beyond's still tired face before leaving to make the some breakfast.

"6:30." B repeated and sighed, changing out of his sleeping clothes to his school ones. He walked over to the mirror and brushed his hair, even though it still looked messy. He slipped on his blue contacts as well before joining the brunette downstairs. Light nearly burst in laughter when Beyond came downstairs. He looked like a complete zombie, even if he was changed. "Do you not know how to tie a tie?" He chuckled, walking over the the tired male and untying the knot, retying it properly. B smirked and chuckled when Light had to fix it, "Hey, in my defense, I've never wore a tie before."

"Of course you haven't.." Light snickered,"Well, better get used to it, huh?" "Not if you can tie it for me." B grinned and patted the top of his head, ruffling his hair a bit. "Ha, well I won't be." The younger smirked slightly, "Now, what do you want for breakfast?" Beyond licked his lips and shrugged, he was hungry for anything now. "Whatever you're having." Light shrugged, "I was just going to make toast. I'll put strawberry jam on yours then?" He grinned slightly. The raven's eyes lit up and he nodded immediately, "Mhm!" His stomach almost grumbled at the thought.

"Alright." Light smiled softly and put in the bread, turning back to Beyond."I better go wake Sayu. She's worse than you. Keep an eye on the toast." "Okay." B smiled and watched the toast, crossing his arms. Beyond couldn't do anything kitchen related to save his life.

Light made his way up to Sayu's room, opening the door and walking in. He poked his younger sister in the side. "Get up." He huffed. Sayu mumbled incoherent words in her sleep, burying her face deeper into the pillow. He rolled his eyes, pulling the sheet off."Up." He grumbled. Sayu groaned in protest but reluctantly opened her eyes, yawning and rubbing her eyes. "Hmph.." Light watched her slowly sit up, "I'm not leaving until you're actually up, Sayu." He sighed, folding his arms. "I'm up, I'm up." She mumbled tiredly, running her fingers through her messy hair as she blinked and looked up at Light. The brunette stifled laughter at the sight of her. "Good." He chuckled.

Sayu shook her head and smiled slightly at his attempt in not laughing, standing up from her bed. Light smiled and ruffled her hair more. "I'm making breakfast downstairs, alright? I'm going back down before Rue burns it." He snickered and left the room. "Okay." She smiled and watched him leave as B was still staring at the toast downstairs, not knowing what else to do.

"Is it done?" Light asked, raising a brow since Beyond hadn't moved since he went upstairs to wake Sayu. "I.. Think so?" He tilted his head slightly and pointed to the toast. Light chuckled and went over to the toaster, surprised that it wasn't burnt to the crisp, he took out the two pieces and put them on a place, putting in another two. "Strawberry jam is in the fridge." B smiled and quickly grabbed the jar from the fridge. He opened the lid and set the jar on the counter, resisting to dip his finger into it.

Light smiled slightly and handed him a butter knife."Try not to stab yourself with it.. Sayu, I hope you're up!" He called out. "Yeah!" Sayu called from up the stairs, coming down shortly after. B smiled and dipped the knife into the jar, licking some jam off before spreading more onto the toast. Light glanced at Beyond and rolled his eyes at his unusual habit. Sayu eyed him curiously before shrugging it off and stealing the toast from the toaster as it popped up, putting it on her own plate, "Thank you!" She teased, giggling. "Hey, that was mine!" The brunette glared at her before huffing.

Beyond chuckled when she stole Light's toast, continuing to spread lots more of the strawberry substance on. Light rolled his eyes. "Next time you can wake yourself up." He grumbled at her before putting in the last two pieces. B smirked and put the knife down, smiling at his finished and sloppy breakfast.

Sayu stood next to Beyond and took the knife once he set it down and put strawberry jam on her own stolen toast. "Got enough jam on there?" She giggled as Light reached into the cupboard for the honey. Beyond chucked and nodded, "Just about." He smiled and bit into the toast. Sayu smiled and finished spreading the jam on her toast and hugged the raven before moving around him to hug Light. "I'm off! See you guys!" She waved to them as she left the house. Light rolled his eyes slightly, "Always so eager to get to school early.. It's weird to be honest." He muttered, grabbing his toast from the toaster.

Beyond chuckled and waved as she left, licking some jam off his toast. "Isn't Raito looking forward to school?" He blinked. "Of course. But her?" Light raised a brow in a distasteful manner before licked honey from his thumb. B nodded and smiled, finishing his breakfast and just eating jam from the jar. "We leave after breakfast too?" Light took a bite out of his toast, savouring the taste of the honey, since it was his favorite."Hm? Nah, it only takes ten or so minutes to get to our school." The brunette shrugged.

"Mkay." B chuckled, noticing he had a bit of honey on his lips. He pointed to Light's lips and smirked, leaning over and licking it off for him. Light blinked before flustering slightly, slowly licking his lips as Beyond moved away, then brought a hand up to wipe across them just in case. B laughed, "You're welcome." He spoke sarcastically, dipping his finger into the jar of jam.

"Strawberry jam and honey don't mix well.." Light muttered, dropping his hand back to his side. Beyond shrugged and smiled, "I think they do. They're both sweet." He sucked the jam off his fingers. "If you say so.." Light scoffed lightly and rolled his eyes, picking up his toast as moving over to the couch. The raven looked down and followed behind the other, standing as he looked at the label on the jar.

Light raised a brow,"What's wrong?" He asked, reaching up to grab B's hand. "Nothing." Beyond smiled reassuringly as he squeezed his hand. He sighed sat down on the couch next to Light, hugging his knees to his chest. The younger male smiled softly and finished his breakfast, licking his lips. "Today's going to be interesting, huh?" "Oh yeah, can hardly wait." B answered sarcastically, his nerves acting up.

Light blinked a few times, glancing up at him. "Why, what's wrong? Not nervous, are you?" He teased, grinning slightly. "No." Beyond lied, crossing his arms and sticking his tongue out at him childishly. "Hmph..'' Light chuckled softly, coping the raven by folding his own arms. "What's to be nervous about?" "I don't know, you tell me, cause I'm not nervous." B smirked. "Hmm, sure you aren't." The brunette scoffed, watching the raven.

"I am perfectly ready and not one bit nervous." B grinned and leaned back in his seat, keeping his arms folded neatly across his chest. "Ahuh.." Light rolled his eyes, not believing it in the slightest bit. Beyond stayed silent for a minute before speaking up again, "And even if I was nervous, which isn't to say I am, it would only be natural considering this is a new school and I've yet to go to public school let alone forgetting all the things I learned at the orphanage-" He carried on, voice slowly fading out and more so talking to himself.

"You'll be fine." Light interrupted before he could say anything else, leaning over and gently kissing his lips to quiet the other. B returned the kiss and nodded, "I know." He smiled and squeezed his hand. "Come on. We should get going if we want to be there early. I want to show you around first." Light stood and offered him a hand. "Alright." Beyond took his hand and rose to his feet after him, closing the jam jar and quickly slipping it into his pocket.

B followed Light outside, not letting go of his hand as he intertwined their fingers together. He looked up at the house as the front door closed behind them.

"Well, here goes nothing.."
