Chapter 15 - Epilogue

"It's alright to hold Jean, Erik. Just hold his head with one hand and his body with the other, I promise he will not break." Meg said encouragingly of her husband, with their three week old little prince.

"I know how to hold an infant, infuriating woman." Erik said, embarrassed. "We do have one other that had been an infant too, you know." Meg giggled and nodded, hugging her little Adelaide tightly, who was watching her father pick up her new brother. Both children had, in a miracle Erik claimed, been born with a perfect complexion free of and deformity. And also both children had been born with the blondest of hair, like their mother, but the grayest-green eyes, like their father.

"Maman, what happened to papa's face?" Adelaide asked innocently, Meg supposed the time would come that her children would ask about the scarring. Erik looked between the two nervously, unsure of what to say.

"Nothing happened, my love, it is simply how he was born, as you were born with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth." Meg replied gently, tracing her daughter's face with her fingertips. Adelaide giggled, then sobered.

"But isn't papa afraid that people will laugh at him?"

"Beauty comes in different ways, Adelaide, and someone with true beauty in their heart does not care for appearances without considering their inside first." She looked to Erik's face, beaming with pride as he looked at his son.

"I love papa, red face or no, maman." Adelaide declared proudly. Meg smiled.

"Me too, my precious darling. Me too."

This was their family, their beautiful legacy.

A/n: So many feels.

I hope you all enjoyed this story, it took a lot of time and effort to complete, and is not at all what I imagined in my head for it but, what can I do. I'm an artist in my own mind and a natural disaster behind a computer screen.

Read, Review, Fav, Ignore, as long as you've read, you've lived :)
