"I want you." She leans across the front seat of her boyfriend's SUV to whisper in his ear. She giggles when he does a double take because it's obvious he doesn't believe he heard her correctly.

"What? No- April, we can wait. I told you, I'm happy to." He tries convincing her, or at least tries convincing himself. He grabs her small hand and presses a gentle kiss atop of it. The radio is playing "Slow hand" by The Pointer Sisters and it gives her the push she needs to finally tell him what she's been feeling for weeks now. They'd started officially seeing each other months ago she kissed him before their boards. They were both board certified surgeons and had accepted fellowships at Seattle Grace Hospital. Jackson had convinced her to let him take her out the following night to celebrate and had been convincing her to be his ever since. The most recent instance of this was earlier tonight when he got down on one knee during dinner.

She shook him off. "Jackson, I'm ready. I've waited long enough and I know you're the one."

He still looked unconvinced. "Are you sure? I don't want you to regret anything, this isn't about a hook-up to April…"

She had to chuckle after that. Months ago she would have laughed at the idea of her convincing Jackson Avery to take her to bed instead of the other way around. "I know. You've proved that. You've waited. You've been a perfect gentleman. And now I want to take you home with me and give you a proper thank you."

He gulped for air after her last sentence and sped up. Instead of going home he drove to the best hotel around. The last thing he wanted to do was worry about Karev coming home and having to keep her quiet.

They pulled into the parking lot of The Edgewater Hotel in Seattle. She waited in the car while he jogged inside to book a room. She pulled her clutch out and touched up her hair and makeup. It would have to do.

She jumped when he opened the door and hopped back in. He parked in the closest spot and pulled her with him toward the main elevator bank. The place was classy and lavish, different from anywhere she had ever been before. It was the epitome of modern and style. He had gotten the best for her.

As soon as they were in the elevator he backed her into the corner of the elevator and pressed "32" for their room. She noticed it was the top floor.

"Top floor? Really Jackson?" She teased, but he barely heard her from his place on her neck.

He nodded. "Uh huh. Penthouse. For you April." And for once she didn't feel like arguing him out of it. She was worth it.

Once they finally reached the top he scooped her up and tossed her over the top of his shoulder. She giggled and let her hands slide within the top of his pants, lightly grazing the top of his butt. The goose bumps he got nearly immediately gave her the reassurance she needed.

The room was more extravagant than she could comprehend. They faced panoramic views of Puget Sound and it was bigger than their apartment. The fireplace was lit and there was chilled champagne waiting for them on the nightstand. The room smelled like strawberries, likely because of the plate of them on the table.

He set her down near the large bed that was waiting for them and waited for her to start. "I love you Jackson." She whispered, reaching up to kiss him. He reciprocated easily, and she started unbuttoning his light blue button up.

"I love you too April. So much. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I can't wait to see you in a wedding dress, I can't wait to see you in our first house, I can't wait to see you as the mother of my children and everything in between."

He moved his hands away from her curvy hips to her cheeks and whipped away her tears. She was the one and he would do anything for her. For the rest of his life.

She pushed his unbuttoned shirt off his shoulders and pulled his white tshirt over his shoulders. Once he was naked from waist up, she took a minute to appreciate him. Unlike him, she'd seen him basically naked many times over the years and she still couldn't get enough of it. She stole glances whenever she could, at home or in the attendings locker room. He really had been a perfect gentleman so they spent the majority of their time out on dates or playing games at home. He showed her the utmost respect. But no woman wants a gentleman at all times.

The back button on her dress ( . ) popped open with a light swipe of his fingers and he pulled the tight lace fabric down her body. She wasn't wearing a bra other than the small built in one in the front of the dress and he gasped when he saw her in the small, black thong. She had a small orange tiger lily tattoo on her right hip, near her pelvic area. She waited for his reaction.

"I didn't know you had a tattoo." He finally told her, running his thumb over it gently, waiting for an explanation.

She nodded. "I got it when I was 18. Patches of tiger lilies were my last memory when my parents were driving me to college and we were nearly crossing the border out of Moline. I was 18 and I knew it was the first day of the rest of my life. A fresh start."

He was still quiet but she knew him and she knew he wasn't upset. "I wanted the reminder. When I see this tattoo, up until now, I've been the only one who knew about it. And it reminds me of who I was and who I want to be. It reassures me, I left for a reason, to make something of myself. To get out of Moline. And I did it."

After April surprised him that night before the boards, he thought she was all out of surprises. He didn't think April Kepner had anything left in her tank, her arsenal was empty. But just as she did tonight, she took him by complete surprise.

He pulled her towards the bed and hovered over her. His hands gently pulled down her panties while his lips met the orange tattoo he didn't know she had. When he pressed a gentle kiss to it, she moaned and her hips instinctively bucked up in the air. She was putty in his hands. Already. Forever.
