For Maria who has always been my greatest source of inspiration. Nearly six years down the road and nothing has changed. It's no coincidence I started working this so recently.

And for Emma and Lucy who are great artists in their own rights.

It's been two years since Frozen (please note I did it before Disney!) and I won't lie, there were times when I honestly thought it would remain an incomplete story. But thanks to some very helpful, persistent and overall amazing individuals, Fleeting is finally seeing the light of day. And for this we can all thank Sonjajade, Mebh, Ssadropout, Bay Alexicon and the incomparable Lou Nebin.

To maryh10000, I miss you, let's not lose touch no matter how crazy life gets.

And finally, to Bookwrm389, it never feels like a proper RoyAi unless you're the one beta-ing it. Thank you for making sense of all the nonsense I write.

I started Frozen in an attempt to understand the unique relationship created and crafted to such perfection by Hiromu Arakawa and even after four years, I don't know if I'm any closer. I do know however that I have greatly enjoyed these attempts that have kept me as smitten with Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye as they did all those years ago.

In closing, I'm going to give you all one of my favorite RoyAi quotes of all time by kittu9 from Love Like Salt.

Much like Roy with Riza, RoyAi is the most beautiful secret I have, and it makes me happy that I can share it with all of you in the coming chapters.
