Sorry for such a short previous chapter, it was typed up all in one night. Normally it takes me like three days to type a chapter and they are short even then compared to other fanfics. Thank you all for being such good sports!
The plot bunnies for a possible following story have been appearing, and they wont go away. Just little details but they are still bunnies and YAY! I just really want to start the next story, so I apologize in advance if the ending to this one feels rushed. This may or may not be the last chapter. I don't officially know yet, but I will by the end of this chapter. The next story will be very different. Be prepared.
Alice Gone Madd: lol a tie is good enough for me! As long as you enjoyed reading it :D Comedy isn't my strongest suit, so, this is what I have to offer.
DisneyFreak-Lover: Thank you! I think I should too :3
Steel autobot: Well, Strange is my middle name (no... it isn't. I have the most average middle name ever). And you are welcome, I am glade that last chapter cleared some things up. :)
I do not own Transformers!
One last note, this chapter will be in past tense because it sounds better. Sorry for swapping back and forth all the time. This will be the last.
The first sense to return to me was my hearing. Muffled voices called out to me while gun shots and battle cries echoed in the background. Then, someone was shaking me, telling me to open my eyes or something. They felt heavy like led, making it difficult for me just to even move my eyelids. But I managed. That was when I first realized I was laying on the ground, five curious faces staring down at me.
Kristy's face was covered in dirt or something, and a dark bruise could be seen under her chin, her blue eyes looked glossier than usual. Alex, half wrapped in her cloak, looked exhausted. She had cuts and bruises too, but they were much worse than Kristy's. Tasha's eyes were red and puffy from crying, and she wiped her nose and smiled. Ratchet stood to shoot at a Decepticon, only to look down again and smile. Without saying a word, he did a quick scan of my body. From his reaction, I think I was alright. He didn't say a word. Then there was Bumblebee. He was crouched a little farther back than the others, but he smiled and waved at me when I looked at him.
I tried to sit up, only for the movement to make my head spin. "Take it easy." Alex said. "You pretty much died so you shouldn't move much." The three of them helped me up so I was in a sitting position with my legs crossed. I felt like I had just woken up from surgery or something.
Tasha sniffled before breaking down into tears and giving me a big hug. "You had us so worried! We thought you were gone..."
I laughed lightly. "Well, I'm back, I guess." Tasha let me go and offered her hand to help me stand. Once I was on my feet I was able to see what was going on around me. The fight had died down. Ratchet had run off somewhere. "How long was I out?"
"About half an hour." The voice came from behind my friends. They stepped out of the way so I had a clearer view of Bumblebee. He looked as good as new. It took me a moment to realize that the voice came from him. Surprisingly, Bee's voice was deeper than I had imagined it would be, and he had a slight Australian accent. "Took you long enough." he said jokingly.
I smiled weakly. "You know, I felt like having a little nap. But, where are Sam and Carly? And why did Ratchet run off in such a hurry."
Bee stood to his full height, his face full of concern. "I don't know where they are... The pillar was knocked down and Sam took off. We lost Carly shortly after. As for Ratchet, Optimus needed some back-up." Suddenly, his optics went dim, as if he zoned out for a moment. They brightened once again, his arm changing into his cannon. "I need to go help out. The pillar is back online. You four stay hidden!"
I noticed that my strength was slowly returning, so I was able to stand on my own. Suddenly, I was filled with panic. My dad was still out there in the battle, or he was in the building where I left him. Something told me he was still in that building. "I have to go find him!"
"Find who?" Alex asked, adjusting the cloak draped over her shoulders.
"My dad! You guys do as Bee said and hide somewhere safe."
Kristy crossed her arms and huffed. "Since when did you become boss?"
"I'm not! I just don't want you guys to get hurt more than you already are."
She sighed. "At least let us come with you."
I shook my head. "No offence, but you will only slow me down. Get to the rooftops or something where the 'Cons can't see you."
"Be careful." Tasha said, then ran off to a near by fire escape. Kristy just nodded and took off with her jet-pack. Alex smiled and wrapped the cloak around herself, vanishing.
Finally. I broke out into a run down the street. All of my strength had returned. I managed to jump over a couple burning cars before I came across a stray 'Con. The building was in sight, but this guy was in my way. Within seconds I was in my robot form before the 'Con even noticed me. He turned and aimed his cannon, but it was too late. I leaped off one of the burning cars with such force that I sailed high above him, only to come smashing down onto his chest. The force of my landing caused the 'Con to fall back onto the side of a building. My fist going straight for his spark, my whole arm disappearing into the 'Con's spark chamber. With one yank, I pulled out the spark and chucked it behind me onto a building across the street. It exploded on impact, sending blue energon running down the side of the building.
I jumped off the 'Con's chest and back onto the street just as his optics flickered out, and his body slumped over with a loud thud. I smiled. "That was kinda fun", I said to myself. Once again, I was running towards the building at full speed.
It was farther away than I had thought, taking me about two minutes to get there. Not too bad I guess. Once I reached the base of the building, I began to climb. My metal hands digging into the concrete like butter. On my way up I broke a couple windows by accident, that is, if they weren't broken already.
I finally reached the balcony where Sam and Carly escaped, so I transformed back into my human self. Only now did I realize how tired out I was. After taking a few deep breaths, I began to search. The living room and dining area were trashed as if there was a fight. I looked under the flipped couches, the table, even the freezer because you never know. Room after room was empty. No sign of anyone.
My panic returned. What if he had run out onto the street? Or... No. There was really only one place left that I hadn't checked. The closet. Running as fast as I could through the building, I came to a small closet door in the hallway. I ripped the door open to see my father, sitting against the wall. "Dad!" I knelt down and checked his vitals. His pulse was weak, his breathing raspy and shallow. Someone must have beat him up pretty bad. I pulled him out of the closet and set him out in the hall where it was brighter.
His skin was extremely pale, almost like a ghost. With him out of the way and the door open, I could see in the closet a large pool of blood. I choked. Two bullet holes in his chest were seeping blood. I pressed against them with my hands to try and stop the bleeding. "No no no..." My voice was shaky, tears streamed down my face. I just couldn't hold them back. "Hang in there, Dad."
I didn't realize that he was conscious until he opened his eyes, wincing at the sudden light from outside. He looked at me, his dark brown eyes seemed to dull. "Carmen?" he asked, his voice almost as low as a whisper.
"Hey." I said with a smile. "Don't worry. It's me. The real me. I'm right here. I'm going to get you out of here, okay?"
He shook his head lightly. "I've lost too much blood." He had to pause for a breath. "You know that."
"Dad..." I began to sob uncontrollably. "I don't know what to do." My shoulders shook with every breath. "What will I tell mom?" I wouldn't be able to tell my family... I just couldn't.
He took his hand and rested it on top of mine. "It will be okay." he said with a weak smile. I smiled back. His eyes closed, and I felt him take his last breath.
I lifted my blood stained hands from his chest. "Dad?" I didn't get a response. He was gone. I didn't want to believe it, but I knew that it was true.
After that, I really didn't know how to react. Eventually I made my way back down to street level (after I cleaned off my hands) and met up with the others. The Autobots had won. Megatron and Sentinal were dead. Bumblebee tackled the pillar, ultimately destroying Cybertron. The Autobots had no where to go now. Gould was dead. Surly he was the one who shot my father, but, maybe I'm wrong. When I tried to tell the others what happened, I just broke down. When I wouldn't talk, Lennox sent a couple men up into the building where they found my dad.
A couple days after the battle in Chicago, we had to go home. Tasha, Kristy, Alex, and I said our goodbyes to the Autobots and Lennox and his team. This time we knew that they were not the last. I was allowed to go through and find what was left of Que's inventions. The portal gun, and some other things that I was not able to identify.
When we returned home, I found myself living in the garage tinkering with the inventions. Fixing them up, trying to figure out the Cybertronian tech. Once and a while I would get calls and texts on my cell phone. Often they were from my friends. They worry. Sometimes it was from Bee. He worried too.
Now, everywhere I go I find myself looking over my shoulder, searching for Decepticons who may still be in hiding. Or even Autobots. In the news they talked about the U.S.A military breaking off their alliance with the Autobots, even after all they have done for us. So I wonder... What will we do now?
Sorry to cut this chapter so short, and to bring this story to an end so soon.
I just want to thank all of you for reading this, commenting, and being patient with my writing that was all over the place. Along with possible holes in the plot (im sure there are some). It was kind of hard for me to add the Autobots in here. Sorry to disappoint. But, this was my first fanfic, so I have learned what works for me and what I am capable of in writing.
The sequel to this story will appear later on, maybe soon. I don't know. Whenever I feel like typing it. It will be different. And it will take place during Age of Extinction. I'm hoping to have more Autobots in that story compared to this one (I am still working on thinking like the characters so they can have more parts in the story). Though it will mainly focus on my OC.
I didn't intend for this to end on such a dark note. I ran into a bit of writers block here, and I just really want to start the sequel.
Again, thank you for all the support! Have a good day/night everyone :D
