Hey there! Two chapters in a day and a half...:) Well trying to make up for all those times I didn't write for you guys. Hope you like! Oh! And some details I wrote. I am not very experienced with drugs and the likes. So if I wrote anything that doesn't match the real thing. Just let me know and I will love to hear from it in order to make this a more believable story. :) Love ya all! Enjoy! :P Oh by the way, its short but intentionally so. :)
I fell to my knees. That day I fell a lot. Not out of weakness. No. Mind me, no. I, Cloud Strife, wasn't weak. No. I was a strong person both physically and mentally. No. I fell due to the shock of whatever was before me. And well...the scene that greeted me when I opened, more like broke, the bathroom's door was something that will shake me till the end of my days. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. I couldn't even blink. Time stood still for me as I gazed at the dazed and haunted look of the person before me. What had he done? What had he fucking done? He was even bloodier than before. His arm was dripping blood nonstop, his right leg was bent at an awkward angle. His hair was completely drenched from the shower's plumbing that had been ripped from the wall and was pouring. The wall mirror had been broken and had blood splattered on the sharp edges and even dripping to the sink. But all of the furniture's condition wasn't the reason why I was shaking from toe till the very last tip of the very last hair of my head. The reason wasn't because of the destruction that scattered in the entire tiled room. No. The cause of my insufferable shivering was the man before me and what surrounded him. Yes. That was the seed of my desperation and terror. And if I could have done something that day...if I could have thought of something that day...Well, things could have been different.
Link was leaning against the wall. As I had said before his arms was bloody and dripping, tiny shards of the wall mirror embedded and making the grotesque sight even more disgusting. His leg bent in an ungodly angle made him look like a tossed rag doll. But, all that along with the multiple scratches, bruises and cuts, bleached before...Hell...even now I have difficulties speaking of it. Hell...It bleached before the used paper blotter he held on his hand. It paled before the dazed and glazed ice cold blue eye that looked my way. It paled before the unseeing look he was giving me as his mind drifted and floated away from this place, away from me. And that pained me. I didn't know why. But it did. It pained me far even more than when he turned away from me that day about a week or so ago. It pained me far even more than when he bad-mouthed Aerith. Why was I feeling this way? Why did I care for him so much? I guess it did because in a way...it had something to do with me. In a way, I had been the cause of it. Unintentionally, I had made Link like this. Or at least spurred him to act in such a way. For I knew not whether he had committed into such acts before I even met him. But, this time...I had been the trigger for him to drug himself stupid.
"Link...why..." I began hoarsely. Hell I had no voice even to speak to him for the shock was too great and my courage was faltering.
"..." His glazed eye turned to me and he tilted his head analyzing my shape. "Why what?"
"When did you...how long have you..." He chuckled darkly.
"The fuck you care Cloud? And don't worry...It takes time now for it to work...It all takes time for it to work."
"Fuck Link...This is..."
"DON'T YOU FUCKING START TO PREACH YOU FUCKER!" His eye was focused and his gaze was fierce, unlike the gone expression he held a few seconds ago. His voice was firm, but I could identify that tiny tint of despair. Although I knew he was lashing for no good reason, I got really offended.
"YOU SHOULDN'T...WHY ARE..."
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU BITCHY ASSHOLE!" He yelled and slammed his one good fist on the white tiled floor. "DON'T YOU GOT A WHORE TO SHOVE YOUR DICK INTO! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY APARTMENT AND LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!"
"DON'T YOU SAY SHIT ABOUT AERITH YOU PIECE OF SHIT! SHE'S A DECENT GIRL WHO LOVES ME! AND BESIDES I CAN'T LEAVE YOU ALONE NOW CAN I? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SELF-DESTRUCTIVE ATTI..." Out of the blue a fist connected with my jaw. The force of the blow sending me spiraling unto the cold tiled floor. "FUCK! WHAT WAS THAT..."
"TOLD YOU TO SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Link yelled and spat on my face. "YOU ARE NO ONE TO SAY WHAT CAN AND CAN'T DO, YOU FUCKER! YOU ARE NO ONE TO TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MY LIFE! HELL YOU ARE NO ONE TO EVEN STAND BY ME, YOU FUCKING SON OF A BITCH! YOU ARE NO ONE AFTER WHAT YOU SAID TO ME YOU FUCKED UP ASSHOLE!" I frowned and as fast as I could I punched him back.
"FUCKED UP ASSHOLE? FUCKED UP ASSHOLE?" I pulled at his hair and brought him to eye level. "I AM THE FUCKED UP ASSHOLE?"
"YOU DEAF TOO?" He taunted and I only tightened my grip on his blonde tresses. For a moment I noticed his left eye looked different. But I could've been wrong for I was too engrossed in trying to still my fist from connecting with his face. I was a gentleman, I couldn't let the savage part of me win again. But he was making the control of the beast within me too hard to achieve. "WELL YES! YES! YOU ARE THE FUCKED UP ASSHOLE! YOU THINK YOU ALL MIGHT AND DANDY, HUH?! WELL NEWS FLASH MISTER YOU ARE ABOUT TO GET YOUR FUCKING HEART TRASHED AND STEPPED ON! ONLY A FUCKED UP ASSHOLE WOULD WILLINGLY ALLOW THAT EVEN THOUGH SOMEONE WARNED HIM! ONLY A FUCKED UP ASSHOLE WOULD! THAT FUCKING GIRL YOU WANT...WELL SHE'S WILLING TO FUCK YOU UP! AND GUESS WHAT IF YOU CALL HER RIGHT NOW SHE WON'T ANSWER! TRY IT! SHE WON'T ANSWER BECAUSE GUESS WHAT...BOOM BADA BOOM BANG BANG! SHE'S BEEN POUNDED BY SOME SCHOOL FUCKER OR SOME MAN MEAT SHE COULD FIND ON HER WAY! FUCKING MAN EATER! FUCKING MAN SLUT! AND FUCKING CLOUD STRIFE FOR BEING SO FUCKING NAIVE! AND WELL FUCKING STUPID ME FOR LETTING MYSELF GET INTO YOUR FUCKED UP MESS!" And after that parading speech he laughed. He laughed so hard his eyes watered and his body shook. He laughed and laughed. And I...well I was pale and lost. I let his hair go as he kept snickering and chortling and openly laughing. Was it true? Was it possibly true? I stood up, my legs albeit wobbly managed to carry me to where my bag laid. I knelt slowly, almost clumsily...my mind blank and the rest of my body on auto-pilot. I amazingly could find my cellphone amongst all my stuff and began dialing the number I had come to memorize by heart.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Come on, Aerith..." I whispered to reassure myself and my beating yet breaking heart. "Come on...please...Pick up..."
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Link's laughter in the back made my hand shiver a bit. "Please. Please..."
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Please...Please...Answer. Pick up. Come on, baby"
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Pick up. Aerith...Baby?..."
Beep. Beep.
"Hi there!" Her voice came from the other side and boy did the calming and wonderful feeling of relief cleansed me. I let go a breath I didn't know I was holding and my heart stopped trying to break free of my chest. I swear I could sprout wings and fly from joy and peace.
"Aerith!" Link stopped laughing. Bastard. I knew all along that all his stupid imaginations were undoubtedly wrong. "Aerith baby..."
"Sorry I can't talk at the moment. But leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can. Love and kisses. BEEEEP." And my world came crashing down just like that.
