Starlight

It is going to be winter soon. The wind is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to fall. The atmosphere is getting kind of dry. I have been working hard too as the holidays are coming up.

Still I feel nothing like winter inside me. Today is Saturday and tomorrow I have a day off. Usagi-san is going to be home too, and as I am walking home all by myself under the stars twinkling so bright, I experience a sense of thrill and enthusiasm. Nowadays, when I see the stars I feel a strange happiness, as I know it is my cue to be at home, to be with Usagi-san.

'Misaki?'

I hear Usagi-san call my name as I open the front door.

'Yes, I am home.'

As I am taking my shoes off I hear sturdy footsteps making their way down the stairs. I go towards the refrigerator for a bottle of water and I feel huge arms wrap around my torso.

'Misaki I missed you.'

I almost jump at the sudden intrusion, as I turn my head to protest, pair of dry lips kisses mine. By now I should have known the antics of my rabbit, still I am surprised. I always think this is it, I am happy but somehow every time Usagi-san takes it to another level.

Baka, Let me catch my breath first.'

A smirk slips Usagi-san's lips. I know he can feel it too, the red blush spreading my cheeks. I shove him aside opening the bottle's cap. And all of a sudden the room goes dark. I blink my eyes and notice it is the same outside too.

'What happened?' I mutter following the only source of light in the room coming through the window.

'Power failure.' I hear a strong voice in the dark, I sense a frown too. I walk few steps to reach the window and feel a sharp pain on my toe.

'Oww.'

'Misaki what are-?'

And we are on the floor in a pile of arms and legs. Slowly Usagi-san trails his hands on my body to reach my hands. Holding both of my hands with his, he steadies himself on his feet.

'Misaki did u hurt yourself? Please stay with me now.'

Treating me like a delicate petal he slowly walks towards the window. The sublime light of the Moon and the stars falling on Usagi-san's face makes me realize the concern and worry on his face.

'I am fine.' A deeper frown spreads across his lips and dark eyes glitters.

'If you don't spill it out, I am going to search every nook and corner of your body Misaki.'

A shiver runs down my spine, it is not fear, it is that excitement again. I close my eyes as usage-san leans closer to me. Blame it on the stars, as their lights are solely focusing on the beautiful face in front of me. I can see nothing except for the purple eyes and the handsome face full of love for me.

'It's my toe.' I blurt out still shutting my eyes. I open my eyes feeling a soft touch on my feet. I see the rabbit kneeling in front of me, scrutinizing my injured toe minutely. And then he leans further down and kisses the little toe. Smiling he looks up to me and whispers.

'Adorable, your toe is so cute Misaki.'

It happens so suddenly I stand there, shocked and mesmerized. But then I regain my senses as Usagi-san smiles and his face glows in the sliver starlight.

'Usa—'

I blame it again on the stars as Usagi-san cuts me in my sentence with a kiss.

'Misaki let's make love in the starlight.'
