The popular and infamous Total Drama Island would be returning for the 15th anniversary of Total Drama's original season and the studio President was in his office readying some important work for it which had a lot of good press and buzz about it online and in the papers. However his work was rudely interrupted when barged in was Total Drama host Chris McLean who looked the same as he did all those 15 years ago even if his voice had changed.
"Hello Mr President bigwig dude; loving all the good press that the show is bringing and I was savouring as I saw that a lot of my ideas for torturing the newcomers were approved. I am definitely all excited for it to be like the old days but there seems to be a bummer..." Chris said with a smile as he made himself home on the seat in front of the desk before the President before he raised an eyebrow. "I saw that my pay for this season... A quarter of the least amount of pay that I have for this show! I talked to the producers and they said that the budget was to be in the hands of you!" Chris said as the President tried to hand motion the door to get him to leave.
"A lot of budget work needs to be made Mr McLean; as a professional I hope that you can understand..." the President said trying to be nice to the man but Chris raised his eyebrow.
"Oh I hope that you understand that I can't accept such low pay when I was the one who made the show what it was; all the crazy stuff only possible because of me! I came up with the challenges that were approved by your producers! I get the paycheck that I solely deserve only with deserved bonuses or I walk. Do you think that your revival can survive without the man who made Total Drama what it was today..." Chris asked and crossed his arms with a smirk acting as if he had won the whole thing.
However the President looked stoic and put his head up realising that he was going to have to do this the hard way...
"Do you know Mr McLean that all previous TDI contestants will not be involved... Do you know why? Because you and the show itself brings back painful traumatic memories and this studio has paid millions of dollars in psychiatric bills to the previous contestants along with royalties on the show's merchandise which is still popular to this day. Mr Duncan is still serving his time for blowing up your mansion... I mean cottage and is quite willing to stay in his prison cell than to have anything to do with the show. Ms Courtney is now a lawyer and now has the studio and you on a restraining order not to be contacted by us unless it's in regards to her royalties. Mr Ezekiel despite wanting the prize money and to win so badly before; now that he has recovered wants nothing to do with us. Even the most washed up of former contestants such as Ms Heather and Ms Amy are not willing to even entertain appearing again. Your antics may have made for high ratings and profit but the bridges you have burned... I think that in exchange for you to be kept on and be allowed to do your stuff; you can do with such low pay!" the President said firmly as Chris was open mouthed to be told this.
"Plus; do you know who signed off on you being bailed out for your year in prison for dumping toxic waste on the Island... How much we spent on lawyers to successfully make the case that we were under the impression that it was staged monsters and not real toxic waste' not to be harmed by your out there ideas!" the President asked as Chris still took this in.
"I made the show... Who do you think could replace me?" Chris asked as the President shook his head.
"You know that reality show the Redonculous Race and the season that featured many former beloved contestants as well as that LARPer loser? One of their most popular seasons ever. Many former contestants still bring in numbers when they make TV appearances. Dawn had started her non-profit environment and animal care organisation which has gotten a lot of attention because she was the misunderstood fan favourite of Revenge of the Island! I don't know why you thought it was a good idea not to bring her back for All-Stars! The Drama Brothers despite being broken up for years still make good money from their old songs and that low budget surfing movie that Ms Bridgette starred in recently? Made for than ten times it's budget back! Despite the drop in their popularity after TDA; the fact is that Total Drama has become a popular brand and being associated with it means that they are set for life in their careers. We can do just fine without you I can now see and we could always find another sadist to replace you." the President finished as Chris looked stunned and reluctantly resigned to it.
The President smirked and said "it looks like that you can now see the reality in your position Mr McLean and have realised this once simple truth:"
"You are not our most valuable asset!"
Special guest voice actor for the network President: Giancarlo Esposito. Not likely to happen with this Canadian studio but someone could dream.
