Chapter 6
Late fall
1926
Indiana Jones, Abner Ravenwood and his daughter, Marion were currently in Cairo on a dig.
Indy loved spending time the city, and remembered the time that he had first met his old friend, Sallah Mohammed Faisel El-Kahir and the two men had developed a close friendship.
Indy was in his tent and had just taken his boots off, when there was a slight knock on one of the wooden tent struts and he asked his visitor to enter.
The tent flap opened and stood at the entrance was Abner's daughter, Marion. She was now wearing a floral dress and looked simply lovely.
"Marion", he began. 'Where's Abner?" She smiled slightly. "Oh, he's in his tent, asleep."
"I was just going to…" but Indy never finished his sentence, as before he knew it, his mentor's daughter was stood in front of him and had reached up and kissed him fully on the lips.
His eyes widened. "Marion, I, uh…"
She laughed slightly. "Well Jones, I never thought it would be possible to make you speechless."
She went to kiss him again and he stopped her.
"Marion, what the hell are you doing? If Abner was here, he would kill me." She sighed and was taken aback.
"Indy, I like you and you like me, so what's the problem?" she asked.
Where to begin. "Listen kid. The first thing is that you're the daughter of my mentor; a man who has taken the time to guide and teach me, and secondly, you're only seventeen".
"And?", she began. "For crying out loud, Jones, my father seems to forget that he and my mother were dating when she was fifteen and they got married when she was my age."
"That be the case, but…" his voice trailed off. He was now kissing her. He knew he shouldn't really get involved, but there was something in the way she looked. Her dark brown hair, those freckles, and those wonderful green eyes.
Their love affair lasted about a month, and when Abner found out, he was not amused.
The dream now shifted and Indy could see it very clearly.
What he now saw was an abandoned church in Mexico City, and there, hidden in a wall, was a hoard of artifacts, but there was something else.
A young girl who needed his help…
