A walk in the park
Chapter 2
At the house Simon was hard at work cleaning the dishes, drying them, of course tending to Brittany and Theodore and top of it all staying on top of his schoolwork. Alvin on the other hand… spent his time watching reality TV, eating pizza and enjoying his day off.
The phone began to ring. Simon being too busy prepping dinner couldn't get to phone,
"Alvin can you get that please?" Simon asked,
"No, I'm too weak… (fake coughing)" Alvin was still playing the part much to Simon's annoyance.
"You're not fooling anyone Alvin, Drop the act and answer the phone!"
"Alright Simon geez don't gotta be so uptight." Alvin said as he went for the phone.
"Hello?"
"Alvin? You don't sound too sick, have you gotten better?" It was Jeanette talking sarcastically.
"Oh uh… ha ha (fake coughing) yeah this fever is really taking a toll on me! So what's up?"
"Me and Eleanor have decided to go for a fun hike, we ju-"
Alvin interrupted "fun? Without me!?" he cried
"ah ah ah you are sick remember? You need your rest." Jeanette said.
"Ah damn it you got me, but I'd better let Simon know." Alvin runs away from the phone to inform simon. There's a long wait for Jeanette before she hears a loud "What!" On the other line.
Simon runs over and picks up the phone "Why are you going to the forest?! Don't you know the risks?!" Simon asked
"I know I know si but Eleanor is determined! I can't talk her out of it!" Jeanette replied.
"Shit… well are you going with her?" Simon asked a little worried,
"I'm going to have to, with my knowledge of nature I could keep her out of harm's way."
"I think that's the best option." Simon agreed, even though he hated the idea he didn't have a choice.
"Stay safe Jeanette."
"Love you si"
"Wha-" before he could finish she had already hung up.
"Simon, you're blushing." Alvin said with a smirk.
"Oh uh ha ha you're still here…" Simon said nervously.
"Well what'd they say?" Alvin asked.
"Oh yeah, they're still going through with the hike, As irresponsible as it is!"
"Wish I could go though." Alvin said regrettably.
"If only you weren't sick, perhaps you would be there." His brother said sarcastically.
"Shut up… hey wait a minute"
Alvin said with a worried look.
"What is it now?" Simon asked not wanting his day to get any worse.
"Isn't it supposed to rain today?"
