Owl Huntress

"Athena." Yang Xiao Long, the proud mother of a nine year old girl, said as she came into the lab that had been left to said girl, by the identical android of one Maize Merlot, and walked in on the young girl, with triple colored hair, cat ears and a cat tail, welding something together, with her lightning magic, and welding wire. "Athena Xiao Long. You're supposed to be recuperating."

"Marvell." Athena said, not looking up from her work.

"Excuse me?" Yang asked.

"Athena Marvell Xiao Long." Athena recited. "I didn't have a middle name, so I gave myself one, Mama even wrote it on my birth certificate."

"Mama did what now?" Blake, the panther Faunus questioned, coming into the lab.

"You wrote Marvell as Athena's middle name?" Yang asked.

"Oh, yeah I did. She wanted to honor Wendy for all the good she did, and thought Marvell as her middle name, would be good." Blake said. "You gave me a copy of all her documents via Scroll, remember?"

"Oh, right. I guess putting Marvell down as her middle name is a good way to honor Wendy's memory." Yang said before turning back to Athena. "What did you even do with Wendy's body?"

"I cremated it, put some of the ashes in a couple necklace sized urns, and turned the rest into a diamond with her name and face carved engraved in it." Athena explained. "I have one of the urns, and the other is for a friend who came to Earthland with her. I sent Tsuki off to find her, and give her the urn."

"Who was Wendy's friend you gave it to?" Yang asked.

"Cana Alberona." Athena said, as she stopped welding, before wincing in pain. "Laxus was kind enough to provide a detailed sketch of her, for Tsuki to memorize."

"See, you're pushing yourself too hard, you need to rest. You're not fully healed from being run through." Blake said, as she and Yang both came up to support their daughter.

"No, I have to complete this." Athena said getting up and wobbling a bit. "Stupid tail throwing off my center of balance."

"You're just gonna have to get used to it. What are you even working on?" Yang asked.

"A Vault door, leading to two separate Vaults." Athena stated, going to the control panel. "I found the specs for each of the Vaults in Merlots archives, and I had an epiphany. The Vaults themselves, are doorways to dimensions, completely out of the reach of normal mankind."

"Right, they had to have used the Staff of Creation to create them." Blake said.

"Right, sources of magical power from the relics, and the Deity Sisters. But what if I could make Vaults of my own, only accessible when all five Maidens put their hands on the door." Athena said.

"But, there are only four Maidens." Blake was confused.

"I thought you had been caught up on everything Mama?" Athena questioned.

"There are currently five Maidens this generation." Yang said. "Athena is the fifth, she's the skeleton key to the other Vaults, so she's a one of a kind Maiden, so her power won't be able to reincarnate like the four seasonal Maidens. But why make a Double Vault like the Relic Vaults, that will never be opened again?" The blonde brawler inquired looking to her daughter.

"Isn't it obvious?" Athena asked, looking to Yang. "The dimensions the Vaults lead to, will be Salem and Acnologia's prison cells."

"That… is actually genius." Blake said.

"Huh?" Yang was confused now.

"Think about it Yang. Salem and Acnologia are trying to take over the world, if they're forever trapped within the vaults that can only be accessed with all five Maiden powers, when there will only be four remaining, then they'll be trapped for all eternity, or at least until the Vault door breaks from weathering." Blake explained.

"That specific reason, is why the Vaults are underground, to not be affected by weathering." Athena said. "But there is a risk you haven't factored in."

"An' that would be?"

"I'm the current Spring Maiden. After Wendy undid the Dormant Soul spell, with the Maiden Powers leaving Raven, and weakening her, I inherited them when Wendy allowed her soul to finally rest. So, there could be a chance my, Dark Maiden powers, could be passed on, to the next Spring Maiden, when I die." Athena explained.

"Dark Maiden?" Blake repeated.

"It's what I am. I asked Jinn what kind of Maiden I am, and she told me my official title was, the Dark Maiden." Athena said.

"But, Ozpin said all the questions had been used up, years ago." Yang said.

"Ozpin says a lot of things that weren't true." Athena said. "But, I could ask Jinn as many questions as I wanted, so long as I fed her my Divine Champion power, A.K.A, my Goddess of Light and Darkness forms."

"So, with the two Maiden powers combined, there's a chance they'll get reincarnated together?" Blake inquired.

"Yes. But… an' this is something I've been dreading… there's also a chance, I might not die, at all." Athena said. "I could end up living forever, if I inherited more than just my Maiden Magic from Salem."

"We… didn't think of that." Yang said.

"But it doesn't matter, because with this, we can trap Acnologia and Salem for good, and stop them from their world conquest efforts." Athena smiled.

"The Vault door doesn't look all that big to me." Blake said. "I mean, it looks big enough for two people to fit through at once, but nothing more than that."

"I'm using Dragonslayer Produced Metal, so I wasn't to produce a lot to make the Vault doors as big as the Relic Vaults." Athena said.

"What are you using to power it?"

"The initial activation of it will be completed using an altered Arc Reactor I made. I took the blueprints Penny had detailed, and completed, and I tweaked it a bit, to make it compatible, with my Spring and Dark Maiden Magics. Thus, creating a self sustained source of magic energy." Athena explained. "After that, the triggers for opening the Vault, will be the same as the Relic Vaults, but with all five Maidens touch. Any less and the doors wont open."

"What are you doing now?" Yang inquired.

"I'm powering it up. Stand back." Athena said. "I've carved runes into the edges of the frame, the same runes that Wendy used to hide herself and me, from the public. So anybody actively searching for the door, won't be able to find it no matter how hard they look. This next part is gonna be kinda loud. Cover your ears, and shield your eyes. Once the vault has powered up, it'll get really bright in here."

"What's the massive amount of power for?" Blake asked.

"To create the two dimensional cells that will hold Acnologia and Salem for good. I'm also using the Relics of Knowledge and Choice to act as catalysts for the dimensions originating." Athena explained.

"How'd you get the Relic of Choice?" Yang asked.

"It was the circlet Pyrrha gave me before we headed off for our Mountain Glenn Mission with Dr. Oobleck." Athena explained. "Didn't you hear Cinder? She pointed out I was wearing the Relic of Choice, as it reacted to my Maiden Magic. Now put on your goggles and ear plugs, we're revving this up." She smiled.

An android came and offered Yang and Blake ear plugs and deeply tinted goggles, as Athena put her own on, while she put up the protective barrier. With all of them behind a protective barrier, and wearing their ear and eye protection, Athena began to steadily raise the power level, initiating the kick start to the Vaults dimensional activation.

"Levels are reaching fifty percent, and holding steady." Athena smiled.

"Is this really gonna work?" Blake asked.

"Who knows?" Yang inquired. "There are a couple factors she probably didn't think of."

"Like what?"

"One, Cinder is either still alive, and still the Fall Maiden, or she's dead and we have no clue as to where her replacement is. The other is kinda contradictive of itself; Athena's trying to make a gateway to two dimensional prisons, with only one point of entry leading to both at the same time. Either that works, or…"

"Or what mom?" Athena asked.

"Or the two opposing dimensions end up colliding with one another, creating something that could undo all your hard work and possibly even kill us, such as a wormhole." Yang said.

"An' how would you know this?" Blake asked.

Yang pointed to the door, and Athena followed where the finger led, before her eyes widened, when she saw the door beginning to suck itself in, and crumble apart as a black hole was forming in the center of the door.

"Not good." Athena said. "How could I not have noticed this was a possibility?"

"This is why you need to rest and recover. You don't think straight when you're overworked or injured like this." Yang said.

"Shut it down Athena." Blake cried out.

"I'm trying, it's absorbed too much energy from the Arc Reactor and has become self sustaining." Athena said as the entire lab became a lightning storm.

"There has to be a way we can stop it."

"There is one method but…"

"But what?" Blake asked. "What do we have to do to shut it down?"

"If I overload my magic powered arc reactor, and throw it into the wormhole, it could cause a feedback loop, and cause it to collapse in on itself." Athena explained. "But if I get even a single calculation wrong, I could end up destroying the forest above us, for miles around. But if I don't do anything, all of Remnant, the universe, could be destroyed and consumed by the black hole."

"It's a risk we're gonna have to take." Yang said.

Athena grabbed the magic powered Arc Reactor, making some tweaks to it, and supercharging it with her magic.

"Alright, I've added some Dragonslayer Magic to it as well. So let's hope this works." Athena said, as the Arc Reactor began to spark with lightning dancing around it. "Get ready, this is gonna be one big bang attack."

"Allow me." Yang said, taking the Arc Reactor.

Winding up, Yang put as much strength as she could into the throw, and sent it into the center of the black hole. Almost immediately, the Arc Reactor got caught in the center of the hole, and spun around, rapidly, as it began to glow. Just as the trio were about to leave, the doors opened, and in running, came Weiss and Ruby.

"What's going on in here?" Weiss questioned, shielding her eyes, before the sound of an explosive, charging up, caught their attention.

"Move, now!" Athena shouted.

But it was too late to go for cover, as the Arc Reactor exploded, enveloping the entire lab in a burst of white light. When the light died down, the lab was in ruins, panels from the walls and ceiling were falling to the ground, and wires were sparking with electricity from the destruction caused by the explosion.

However, there was one thing that was evident. Team RWBY were all gone, nowhere to be seen, not even the shadows of their bodies being hit by the explosions.

"Get down." Athena cried.

~Boiling Isles~

As the ringing in her ears woke her from slumber, Athena found herself lying on the cold, stone ground of some sort of room. Sitting up, Athena moved to put a hand to her head, only to feel nothing. Opening her eyes, she looked down and gasped when she saw that the socket of her right shoulder, and left leg at the hip, were empty, and wrapped in blood soaked bandages.

"W-what happened?" Athena questioned, tears beginning to form in her eyes, as fear took over her.

"We were hoping you could tell us."

Athena looked up, and saw a large hooded man, wearing a thin pointed nose plague mask, with eerily grey skin, and an intimidating air about him.

"You were found like this, and instantly brought to the Healing Coven, before you were brought here to the Conformatorium." The man said. "My name, is Warden Wrath, and I have some questions for you."

"What do you want from me?" Athena questioned.

"I'm wanting to know just where you…"

"That's enough Wrath." A new voice said.

The voice belonged to someone who sounded elegant, and Wrath turned to the newcomer, before backing up, and giving the man room for Athena to see him come into her line of vision.

The man was tall, and muscular, with dark brown skin, green eyes, and purple goo hair that seemed to flow on its own. His clothes consisted of a black chest plate with a gold collar, purple studs and pointed shoulders, light purple pants, white mid-length gloves, and white-heeled boots with violet toes. He also had a magenta side cape with violet details at the edges, hanging from his left shoulder.

"What exactly, do you think you're doing, putting this child into a cell meant for criminals?" The man Questioned.

"Coven Head Darius, I apologize sir." Wrath said, bowing to him in respect.

"Honestly, I was hoping my first act as the new Coven Head, wouldn't involve something so, disgusting as a child being locked away within the Conformatorium." Darius sighed. "Explain why she is in here, rather then remaining at the Healing Coven for continuous treatment for her injuries."

"Well you see, it was under Emperor Belos's command." Wrath stated. "He told me, to keep this child locked in the Conformatorium. He didn't specify as to why."

"I see, so it was at the Emperor's command was it?" Darius asked, sounding annoyed, before he closed his eyes with a sigh, and turned to look at Athena. "Dear child, do you know anything that might cause Emperor Belos to justify throwing you in here?"

"W-who's Belos?" Athena questioned, grabbing her empty socket.

"Odd. Even the youngest of children starting out at Hexside's baby class, knows who Emperor Belos is." Darius said.

"Please, I just want to go home. I want to be with my moms again." Athena said.

Athena could see her words were wrenching Darius's heart, but she knew he wasn't in any sort of position of power, to do anything to help her, if the Emperor demanded her containment.

"I do apologize child, but as I said, it is only my first day as Coven Head. I do not have any leverage with the Emperor to be able to release you. The best I'm sure I can do, is keep you healthy with regular checkups from the Head of the Healing Coven." Darius said, before turning back to Wrath. "Be sure to let any representatives from the Healing Coven, into the cell to treat her. The Emperor wouldn't be too happy if she died from a blood infection."

"Of course." Wrath said, bowing to him again.

"I wish you well child, and I do hope you're released soon." Darius said, before he turned and left.

~Yang & Blake~

"Ow my head." Blake groaned. "Where am I?"

"Blake, it's so good to see you awake." Yang said, pulling her Faunus partner in for a hug.

"Yang? What's going on, where's Athena?" Blake asked.

"I don't know. All I'm certain of, is we didn't wind up in this bed of leaves on accident." Yang said.

Looking at their surroundings, Blake did see that they were on a bed of leaves, with a blanket that had been over them, or her at least. Outside, the rain was coming down hard.

"How long have I been out?" Blake asked.

"I don't know. I woke up myself about five minutes ago." Yang stated, getting to her feet. "I'm gonna go out and find Athena."

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." A woman's voice came from the shadows.

Blake and Yang were on high alert, as they jumped to their feet, before their eyes widened, when a giant womans head, with long black hair, and bat wings on either side of her body, waddled out of the shadows.

"Please, no need to be alarmed. You are safe here." She said. "I am, Bat Queen."

"I'm Yang." The blonde said.

"Blake." The Faunus added. "Why shouldn't we go out and search for our daughter?"

"Now is not a good time. The rain will boil you alive if you step out there." Bat Queen said.

Yang turned to the entrance to their safe haven, before sticking her hand out, and watched as the rain landed on her hand, and ate through her glove.

"She's right Blake." Yang sighed, showing her ruined glove to her partner. "That is some serious rain."

"Interesting." Bat Queen said. "How is it, you are not burned?"

"I'm immune to the harmful affects of heat, that includes boiling water. To me, it feels like nothing but a dip in the hot spring." Yang said. "Which is something I could totally go for right now. But my daughters safety comes first."

"I do apologize, my subjects only found the two of you out there, no one else." Bat Queen said. "I was barely able to get you both in here, before it started raining."

"Then we'll have to go looking for her when the rain stops." Blake said. "Thankfully, Athena should be fine. She's just as immune to fire as Yang is. So there's nothing to really worry about, besides her wardrobe."

"If it is help you seek in finding your daughter. There is one person I know, who might be able to help you." Bat Queen said. "Once the rain stops, head West until you come to a fork in the road. Once you hit the fork, take the path to the left, instead of the right. Continue on that way, until you reach a house, with the design of an eye in the giant stain glass window."

"Who'll be at the house when we get there?" Blake asked.

"An Owl." Bat Queen said. "He'll seem as nothing more then an ornament on the front door, but he is very much alive. If you can withstand him long enough, ask for Eda the Owl Lady. She is the one who will be able to help you with finding your daughter."

"Thank you." Yang said. "We appreciate your help in this matter. An' for taking us in from the rain, when you didn't have to."

"It was my pleasure." Bat Queen said, before a couple of little creatures came out from behind her. "Oh, it seems you've gained the attention of the Palismen."

The Palismen continued to gather in front of Yang and Blake in numbers, before they stopped and looked at one another. Without saying a word, Yang knelt down in front of the group.

"They hope one of them will be taken by each of you." Bat Queen said. "Just speak from the heart, what you desire, and the one who bonds with you, will be your partner."

Yang and Blake looked to one another, before looking back to the group of Palismen.

"I just want to be able to provide for my daughter, and protect her from anyone who would willingly harm her." Yang said.

The Palismen looked at Yang, before one that looked like a house cat sized Salamander came out, and jumped at her. The instant Yang held out her hands, the Palisman turned into a statue, and a wooden staff came out of its base, and landed in her palms.

"Whoa." Yang said, before the Salamander Palisman became movable again, and crawled up her arm, and rested on her shoulder. "Nice to meet you Ember. Welcome aboard."

"An' you?" Bat Queen asked.

"Well… I don't really know." Blake said. "My past has been so chaotic, I guess I… just wanna make things right, and prove I'm more then what I am."

The Faunus was certain she wasn't gonna get a Palisman, but she was proven wrong, when a black cat Palisman came out of the crowd, with white stripes on its body, making it look like an inverted white tiger. The moment the Palisman was in front of Blake, it jumped, took its staff form, and landed in her hands.

"I didn't think any of the Palismen would respond to that." Blake said.

"You spoke from the heart, thus your wish was touched by the one best suited for you." Bat Queen said. "Now, how about I teach you to properly care and treat your Palismen, before the rain stops, yes?"

"Sure, sounds good." Blake said. "I think Domino and Ember might wanna get to know us better as well."

"We could use the know how." Yang smiled, scratching Ember under the chin, making her murr with joy. "An', we could teach it to Athena, for when she gets a Palisman of her own."

~5 Years Later: Human Realm~

"Come on, come on, where is it? Why can't I find it?" A Latina girl with brown hair, wearing a kitty hoodie questioned looking through the garbage.

This is Luz Noceda, a spunky girl, who's on her way to Fun Nazi reformation camp. Before her mom left for work, she'd thrown out her, Good Witch Azura book, to convince her mother that she would take the reformation camp seriously, but as soon as she left, Luz was digging for the book, but couldn't find it even though it was right on top of the pile.

"Hoot-hoot."

Luz looked up to see a small brown owl, holding a bag in its beak, with the book she was looking for, clear as day in the bag before it began hopping away.

"Huh, tiny trash thief." Luz gasped, chasing after the owl into the woods behind her house.

Following the surprisingly fast little owl, Luz paused when she saw she was following it to a creepy abandoned looking house.

"Whoa." Luz said, before noticing the owl going inside. "Hey, get back here." She called out, chasing after it. Passing through the door, Luz wasn't aware of what was happening as it closed behind her. "Stop adorably hopping… away you…"

Luz stopped when she saw that the area she'd ran into, was filled with all sorts of different items. There was even a fridge.

"Whoa, I thought I had a lot of weird stuff, but this…" She paused to pick up a coat hanger connected to a baby doll head, missing an eye, with the body of a rat, the right arm of a lizard, and the left arm was a fork. "This is impressive."

"Finally you made it back." A woman's voice said, spooking Luz as she dropped the doll, missing how it was reaching out to her. "Now let's see what you brought."

Heading for the opening of the tent, Luz peeked outside to see a grey haired woman in a torn dress, with multiple shades of red, wearing a green bandanna over her head.

"Alright, let's see what you brought mama." She said, reaching into the bag and pulling out, an I-Pad. "Trash." A Diamond Ring. "Garbage." The Holy Grail. "Junk." She tossed them all into the same bag. "Aha, here we go." She said, reaching into the bag, and putting on a pair of spring gag glasses. "These are gonna make me rich." She smiled, before reaching into the bag and pulling out Luz's book. "While this, can make for some good kindling."

Luz gasped as the woman held the book over a lit candle, and acted without thinking.

"Sorry, that's mine. Gotta go." She said, quickly snatching the book back, and running for the door she came through. But before she could go through it, the door closed and folded up into a brief case.

"Not so fast." The woman said, with Luz turning to her in fear.

Luz turned back to the wall of the tent as she put her book back in her bag and went under the material, running for the forest, before she stopped as she reached a ledge, and gasped when she saw a magical world filled with different monsters, demons, and other oddities.

"Oh my gosh. Where am I?" Luz questioned, before a tiny pink creature flew next to her. "Oh, hello little fairy, are you here to tell me this is all some sort of mystical, fantasy dream?"

"Give me your skin." The fairy said, showing its large and sharp teeth.

"GAH." Luz cried out, smacking the fairy to the ground. "Oh how did this happen. Did I die? Am I in, the bad place?"

"You wish." The woman said, grabbing Luz by the shoulder.

After dragging Luz back, the woman just looked at her as she tossed Luz on a stool.

"I'm so sorry, I just wanted my book. If you're gonna eat my skin, just make it quick, just do it now." Luz said holding up her arm.

"Eat you? Why would I want to eat, a potential customer." The woman said, showing the sign of her work. "Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes? A bar of green human candy, oh how about this black shadow box, that reflect only sadness." She pitched, holding up a crock, a bar of deodorant, and a mini portable television.

"That's not all it can do." Luz said, hopping down from the stool and taking the television. "Here, let me see it."

Grabbing some batteries in a tin labeled, human candy, Luz put them in the television and turned it on, revealing there was an 80's workout special on the, probably, only channel. The sound and visuals of the box began to draw in a crowd.

"I'll pay you 40 snails for the screaming box."

"I'll give you 100."

"Can I eat the tiny person inside?"

"What did you say your name was?" The woman questioned, looking to Luz.

"I'm Luz, Luz Noceda." She said.

"Well Luz, that was pretty clever… for a human."

"That's kind of a weird thing, for another human to say."

"Oh, dear child, I'm not like you." She said, pulling off her bandanna, revealing her pointed ears. "I'm Eda, the Owl Lady. The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles."

"A witch?" Luz questioned.

"I am a respected, feared…"

"Busted." Someone said, destroying the television.

"Run it's a guard." One of the customers said, while the others ran.

"Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic, and demonic misdemeanors." The guard said, holding up her wanted poster.

"Whoa, Witch Criminal." Luz said.

"You are hereby ordered to come with me to the conformatorium." The guard said, grabbing Eda's arm.

"Would you guys quit following me around? I haven't done squat."

"An' you're coming to." The guard said, grabbing Luz by her hood. "For fraternizing with a criminal."

"Does that mean I have to come to?"

The guard turned around to see a 24 year-old Yang, dressed in a form fitting hooded tankini top, poorly laced at the front, showing off plenty of cleavage all the way down, with some underboob showing, slim daisy dukes over a pair of black leggings, leaving her midriff bare, revealing the belly button piercing, with hand crafted leather combat heels on her feet, and a satchel hanging off her left shoulder on her right hip. On her right shoulder, sat the red and gold Palisman, Ember, and a white scaly scarf wrapped around her waist like a sash, with her burning heart, and Blake's shadow lotus emblems sewn into the fabric of one end.

"If you've been fraternizing with Eda the Owl Lady, then yes."

"Oh, I'd say my connection to her is more personal then that." Yang smiled, revealing a gold tooth where her right upper canine should have been, just like Eda's.

"Hold on… Yang the Fiery Salamander." The guard gasped, before his eyes bugged out, and he let go of Luz, as Yang punched him in the gut.

"Eda, pack up and run." Yang said, catching Luz.

Almost instantly, Eda grabbed all her things, and using her magic staff, with the cute owl as the head, flew along the ground before Ember took on her staff form, allowing Yang to jump on the shaft, and flew off to their base of operations.

"Thanks for the save there Yang." Eda said.

"I keep telling you, it's not safe for you to be out right now. I've saved up more then enough snails to provide for our living expenses from my bounty hunting, so we can stay low key, until the heat blows over." Yang sighed, before looking down at Luz, and smiled. Deciding it was better to not scare her anymore, Yang put the Latina girl down at the head of the staff, to which she instinctively held on for deer life. "You can open your eyes now kid."

Luz slowly opened her eyes, and gasped when she saw what she was looking at. The beauty around her looked so majestic, and lifelike.

"Whoa. Everything's so beautiful." Luz said, before realizing something. "Flying staffs, crazy monsters, you're both witches. What is this place?"

"Welcome to the Boiling Isles kid." Yang smirked, remembering how hers and Blakes reaction was similar to this. "I know, it can be a lot to take in at once."

"Every single myth that you humans have, is caused by a little bit of our world, leaking out into yours." Eda stated, as a griffin came up and was flying next to them.

"A griffon." Luz gasped, before the griffin opened its mouth, and spewed out hundreds, if not thousands of spiders. "I knew it."

"Yep, there's everything. Griffons, vampires, giraffes." Yang listed off.

"Giraffes?" Luz questioned.

"Oh yeah, we banished those guys eons ago." Eda said, as they began to make their landing. "Bunch of freaks." She stated, hopping off her staff.

"Uh, Eda." Yang said, pointing to her staff.

Luz looked to the staff, and cried out in shock, falling off of Ember, when she saw Eda's disembodied hand still holding onto it, before Yang jumped down and Ember reverted back to animal form and landed on Yangs head.

"Oops, that happens sometimes." Eda said, reattaching her hand.

"Ember, what have I told you about landing on my head?" Yang sighed. "Honestly, you're lucky you're so cute, otherwise I'd be going berserk from that."

"Welp, I've had enough adventure for today." Luz said.

"You sure kid?" Yang asked.

"Yep. This is obviously not the PG fantasy world I've always dreamed about." Luz said. "So, can you both help me get back home?"

"You mean to the human realm, right?" Yang asked. "That's doable."

"Hold on, it's my portal door. You do not get to decide who uses it, and who doesn't." Eda said, before looking at Luz. "I'll let you use my door, only if you help me first."

"Eda, she's a kid. She's around Athena's age." Yang said. "Do you really wanna use her?"

"She's the only one who can do, what I need to get done." Eda stated, leading Luz and Yang to her house. Once there, they were greeted by a talking owl figure head on the door.

"Hoot, what's the password?" The owl face on the door questioned.

"Oh, pineapple owl?" Yang guessed.

"Don't encourage Hooty." Eda sighed. "You do this, every time."

"Come on in." Hooty smiled, before opening his mouth wide enough for them to enter. Once they passed through, he closed his mouth, and belched like he'd just had a big meal.

"Welcome, to the Owl House." Eda smiled, snapping her fingers, and lighting the candles that went around the room. "This is our hideout whenever we wanna hide away from the pressures of modern life, or the law, or ex-boyfriends."

"Speak for yourself, Blake and I don't need any one else in our relationship." Yang said.

"Wow, Witch's lair." Luz gasped in awe. "So do you two live alone?"

"Actually…" Eda began, before the sound of someone running echoed through the halls. "We have a couple of roommates."

"KING." Blakes voice echoed through the halls, as a small furry demon with a skull for a head, and the Faunus herself, went running past the open hall. "You get back here, it's still bath time."

"No, I'm the King of Demons, I don't need to have a bath every night!" The little demon said, running away from Blake.

"I swear to Titan, I will use my magic to drop you back in the tub if you don't cooperate." Blake said, as she followed King into the living room, only for the both of them to stop as they saw Luz.

"Eda he's so cute. Who's a widdle guy, who's a widdle guy?" Luz questioned, doing baby talk to the small demon, while hugging him tight, with her eyes filled with adorableness overload. "Is it you, is it you?"

"No, I don't know who your little guy is. Eda, Mom, who is this monster?"

"Oh this is Luz, the human." Eda said, with Yang pulling King out of the humans arms, and held her in her own. "She's here to help us with our little… situation."

"Oh, hurray." King said, sitting in Yangs arms.

"Wait, wait, wait. I don't like the sound of this, situation." Luz said.

"Just, let me explain." Eda said, drawing a big circle of magic into the air.

"Oh, not this story again." Blake sighed, throwing a towel over her shoulder.

"King was once a mighty, King of Demons." Eda began as Yang kept Luz from just grabbing King in another death hug, by pushing her away with her foot. "Until his crown of power was stolen and he became… this."

"You mean this little bundle of joy?" Luz questioned, holding King tight.

"How the hell did you manage to grab him again?" Yang pondered, stumped at how Luz did that, while Blake took King away from Luz.

"The crown is being held, by the Evil Warden Wrath." Eda began. "An' locked away, behind a magical force field that only a human, can break through."

"So what are you wanting me to do about it?"

"If you help us retrieve his crown, we'll send you back to your realm. So what do you say? Plus, who could say no to this little guy and his cute face?" Eda questioned, holding up King, before Yang pulled him back into her arms.

"No, please don't encourage her." King panicked, hugging Yang.

"I mean, we're kinda your only way home." Eda said.

"Backing her into a corner, really Eda? You're doing this in front of our son?" Blake questioned.

"I don't really have a choice, do I?" Luz asked.

"As much as I hate to say it, no you don't." Yang sighed, putting King on the ground.

"Now we've got no time to lose." Eda said, grabbing Luz and throwing the human over her shoulder, before heading for the door.

"Soon Mr. Ducky, we shall drink the fear of those who mocked us." King said, running after them.

"I'll stay here, and clean up I guess." Blake said with a shrug.

"Where are we going?" Luz questioned.

"Somewhere super fun." Eda said, grabbing her staff.

~Conformatorium~

"The Conformatorium." Eda said, as thunder and lightning echoed through the clouded skies.

"What is the Conformatorium?" Luz asked.

"A place for those considered, unsuitable, for society." Eda explained.

"Basically it's a placed designed for trying to take away someone's free will, and whoever defies those who set that law, get sent here for their punishment." Yang said, as Luz picked up a wanted poster that showed Yang, Eda, and King on it.

"Whoa, these guys really have the hots for you." Luz said.

"Yep, but we were never caught, because we were too slippery." Eda said.

"Try to catch me when I'm covered in grease, I'm a squirmy little fella." King said.

"The only reason why Blake isn't on there, is because she's kept to the shadows." Yang said. "So she's the only one out of all of us, who's actually able to go out and get groceries to restock out fridge and pantry."

"So what's the plan?" Luz asked.

"You, me, and Mom will sneak up to the top of the tower where they're holding my crown." King stated.

"An' I'm gonna make sure the Warden's distracted." Eda added.

"Will I need a disguise?" Luz asked.

"I don't think that will be…"

"I've been waiting to use this." Luz said, pulling up her hood while interrupting Yang, showing it was a cat hoodie. "Meow-meow."

"I think Mama would be offended by that." King said with a disapproving look.

"Oh, right." Luz said, pulling the hood down.

"Alright, let's do this." Yang said, with Ember taking on her staff form, allowing for the three infiltrators to hop on. "Hang on tight." She stated, before flying up through the air to the top of the tower.

As they reached the top, Yang stopped in front of a window, allowing for King and Luz to climb through the open entrance, before Yang slipped in as well.

"Alright, now stick close to me and…" Yang stopped, when a familiar scent reached her nostrils, and she went running towards the corridors of cells.

"Mom, wait for me." King said, chasing after her, with Luz following.

"Whoa, check it out." Luz said, gasping at the amount of cells that were there in the corridors.

"Athena." Yang's voice echoed through the chamber, bringing Luz back to reality, before she ran for them.

When she finally caught up to Yang and King, she looked into the cell Yang was trying to break open, before gasping, when she saw a young girl, around her age, wearing torn rags, and looking as though she hadn't eaten in days. She had long, triple colored hair, with cat ears, and a tail sprouting from her backside. But what terrified her the most, was the fact that her right arm, and her left leg was missing, as she laid on the ground, the only sign of life being her soft, but pained breaths.

"Athena, please wake up." Yang said, tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, I wasn't able to come and get you sooner. If I had known you were here, I would have turned this whole building to rubble, just to get you back. I know it's only an excuse, but please. Wake up, my sweet baby girl."

"Is that… really my big sister?" King asked, grabbing one of Yangs hands.

"Hey cat lady?" One of the inmates questioned, pulling Luz's attention away from Athena's cell. "How'd you get out of your cells?"

"Oh, I'm not a cat person, and I'm not criminal." Luz said.

"Well neither are we. Stupid warden likes to lock people up who don't, fit in." The woman said with air quotation marks, pulling out a red book and opening it to a story. "I write fanfic's of food falling in love. I like food, I like love, just let me write about it."

"I'm here, because I like eating my own eyes." The cellmate to the left said, taking out one of his five eyes, and eating it before it grew back.

"We are agents of free expression, they will never silence us." A small creature said.

"Yeah, she's really big into conspiracy theories."

"The world is a simulation, we are but play things for a higher being."

"Whatever kills the boredom I guess." Luz said.

"Wait, none of these are actual crimes. None of you actually did anything wrong." Luz said before pulling Eda and Yang's wanted poster out from her pocket. "You're all just a bunch of weirdo's, like me."

There was a moment of silence, before the sound of footsteps reached their ears, drawing Yangs attention away from Athena's cell.

"We gotta hide." Luz said, grabbing Yang by her wrist, and dashing off into an empty cell, as the ground began to shake.

"What are you doing?" Yang questioned, as Luz closed the cell door.

"Trying to keep us from actually becoming inmates here." Luz stated, before the large bulky figure of Warden Wrath came through the door, and into their line of vision.

"I can hear you." Wrath said.

Luz and King just remained still and silent, while Yang was not sure if she should play her hand yet, as Wrath continued on.

"Just what are you fools whispering about?" He questioned, before looking down and seeing Eda and Yangs wanted poster, which Luz had dropped in her rush to grab Yang. "Ah, the Owl Lady." He said, picking it up, before the crumpled the poster into a ball, and turned his fist into a hammer, slamming it against the cell the three were hiding in, bending the metal badly. "I'll get my hands on her soon enough." He declared, before looking into the cell, and only seeing Luz with a scared look on her face, as Yang and King hid in the shadows.

"Fight against the oppressor. We will resist, we will conquer. We will never be afraid of you, you old creep." The conspiracy theorist declared, before Wrath stepped up and opened her cell.

"Shit. Not good." Yang cursed.

"Hooray I'm free." The theorist said, before she was grabbed by Wrath.

"Let this be a lesson to all of you. There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in." Wrath stated squeezing tighter on his victim, before marching off to deliver more punishment to her.

The moment he was gone, Yang and King crawled out from behind Luz, while the small demon and human girl, tried to open the cell door.

"Oh come on, he damaged the cell, it won't open." Luz said.

Yang just stepped in front of them, pushing the two back before she pulled her fist back, and with a flaming punch sent the metal bars flying down the cavern of the spiraling corridor.

"Whoa." Luz said. "She's strong."

"As a dragon." Yang said, cracking her neck. "Now come on, everyone up and at 'em. You got lives to live, and no time to waste them in this dump." The blonde exclaimed, flipping the switches to the remaining prisoners cells, before going into Athena's.

"What's the point. He's just gonna catch us again, and lock us up." The girl said, as her cell opened.

"Like he always does."

"Life isn't easy. But its worth living if you fight for what you believe in." Yang stated, tying Athena to her back with her white scaly scarf. "To be free and to do things your own way, is what it means to be a magic user. An' for me, that's what it means to be a member of Fairy Tail." She said, her mark glowing visibly with power.

"Come on, you've set them free, now we gotta meet up with Eda." Luz said.

Heading through the tower, Yang, Luz, and King made sure to keep themselves from being spotted, as they finally met up with Eda.

"Hey, I just checked and…" Eda stopped when she saw the girl on Yangs back. "Yang, is that who I think it is?"

"Yeah, it's Athena." Yang stated. "She's been here in the Conformatorium, for all these years."

"Is… is she gonna be okay?" King asked, sounding upset.

"Athena's gonna be fine King. An' she's gonna be just as ecstatic at the thought of being a big sister, just as much as you were excited to know you were her little brother." Yang said, reassuringly.

"Hey, I think we made it to the vault." Luz said, showing she was standing in front of the large circular door.

"My crown. It's close, I can feel it's power." King said, running up and scratching at the door.

"Aw he's so cute when he gets thirsty for power." Eda cooed.

"Eda, just to let you know, I set all the other prisoners free." Yang said. "They didn't deserve being locked up in here."

"You what?" Eda asked.

"It's not fair that they were all in here." Luz said, putting her two cents in. "They just wanna be themselves. Why does everyone think that wanting to be a weirdo is so bad?"

"It's just the true nature of this world Luz." Yang said, literally kicking the vault door open, while keeping her hands behind her back to hold up the unresponsive Athena. "The world, isn't all sunshine and rainbows. If life's taught me anything, it's that the world if a very mean, and nasty place, that will knock you down any chance it gets."

"Whoa Mama. I knew she was strong, but not that strong." Eda said, as King ran into the room. "Come on, before he hurts himself."

"Ow. MOM!"

"Too late." Yang sighed.

Inside the contraband room, there was a massive pillar of light, that no doubt was the barrier only Luz could break through. King was on the ground rubbing his head, before he got up and went running at it again, only to be stopped by Yang grabbing him by the scruff of his neck, and pulling him into a single armed embrace.

"Luz is here, remember?" She asked.

"Oh, right."

"Go on kiddo, do your thing." Eda said.

Yang just watched as Luz went towards the barrier, and passed right through it. But at the same time, she couldn't help but feel something was off.

"You gotta be kidding me." Yang heard Luz say, before she came out of the barrier as it dropped, revealing all that was behind it.

"My crown. Yes, yes." King cheered, jumping down from Yangs arms and grabbing the paper crown in Luz's hands, and putting it on. "I can feel my dark powers returning. You there nightmare critter. I shall call you, Francois and you shall be a minion in my army of darkness."

"That crown doesn't give him any sort of powers, does it?" Luz asked, looking to Eda and Yang.

"Uh, no."

"So we just risked our lives, for a stupid paper crown?"

"Yep." Eda said. "Oh, look at us Luz. The four of us don't have much in this world. We've only got each other. So if that dumb crown is important to him, then it's important to us too. An' besides, us weirdo's have to stick together, you know?" She smiled giving Luz a wink.

"That's kinda sweet, I guess." Luz said.

"Well, we owe you one. Now let's get out of here before the warden finds us, and loses his head." Eda said, as a dark figure came up from behind her.

"Too late." Wrath said, before turning his hand into an axe blade and slicing off Eda's head.

"Eda." Yang cried, with Luz catching her head. "No, no, no. Please, you can't die now."

"Ow. I hate it when that happens." Eda said, shocking Yang and Luz.

"AH." They screamed.

"Eda, are you okay?" Luz questioned.

"Yeah, this just happens when you get older." Eda said.

"Does it?" Luz asked.

"It most certainly does not." Yang stated. "I knew your hands and arms could just pop off, but your head?"

"Finally, I have you cornered Eda the Owl Lady." Wrath said, grabbing King's crown from his head.

*Sniff-sniff* "Does anyone else smell flowers?" Yang asked.

"My guards could never get you." Wrath said, as King tried to jump up and take his crown back. "But I knew that if I took your pets toy, you'd come running." He stated, before crushing the crown.

"No! My power." King sobbed.

"Hey, you just destroyed my sons favorite toy." Yang exclaimed, putting Athena down in front of the pile of contraband.

"What do you want with me? I've never actually broken any of your stupid laws… in front of you." Eda said.

"That's not helping Eda." Yang hissed.

"I want you…"

"Seriously, does no one else notice the…"

"To go out with me." Wrath said, holding a bouquet of flowers to Eda's severed head.

"Oh, that explains why I was smelling flowers." Yang said.

"Go boss." One of the guards said, while holding two thumbs up to him.

"You've always eluded our capture. You've always been the one that got away. I find that very alluring." Wrath said.

"You can't be serious right now." Luz said.

"You stay out of this." Wrath said, tossing the flowers, before grabbing Luz with his shape shifting hands and lifting her up into the air, while his guards grabbed Yang and King. "So how about it Owl Lady? The most powerful Witch of the Boiling Isles, and the feared Warden Wrath. We'd be the strongest power couple ever. I mean it's, it's not like you can say no right now." He stated, holding up Eda's severed head by the hair.

"Hey Wrath." Yang called out, grabbing his attention, an angered look on her face.

"What do you want?"

"To tell you to stay away from my friend you creep. An' to say, I'm gonna murder you, for all the shit, you put my daughter through while she was held captive here." She stated, before puffing up her cheeks and letting out a stream of red flames. "Purgatory Dragon: ROAR!" Yang chanted as she spewed the flames everywhere.

With the flames hitting their mark, Wrath dropped Luz and Eda's head to the ground, allowing for the girl to land gracefully as she caught the severed head, before falling flat to the ground, evading Yangs breath attack.

"Whoa." Luz said.

"That's a Purgatory Dragon for ya." Eda said, as Yang doused the guards holding her and King in flames.

Leaping from the grips of her captors, Yang whistled for Ember, who'd snuck off into the shadows, before Ember came flying out in staff form, allowing for Yang to jump onto the staff, and fly through the air, grabbing King, Luz, and Eda, before stopping in front of Eda's body. When she was sure they were safe, with Athena, Yang went to Wrath, and grabbed him by the shirt.

"The hell, did you assholes do to my daughter?" Yang questioned. "Why is she missing an arm and a leg?"

"Your guess about that, is as good as ours." Wrath stated. "As for why she's in a vegetative state, we've spent the last five years, trying to break her mind. We finally succeeded the other day, and she's been unresponsive ever since."

"You asshole." Yang exclaimed, slamming her fist into Wrath's face. "She was, an innocent little girl, in a world unfamiliar to her own. How could you just do that to her?"

"It was by order of Emperor Belos." Wrath said. "All I did, was my job, and followed his orders."

Yang threw Wrath onto the ground, before turning back and running to Athena, dropping to her knees in front of the child.

"Athena, baby listen to me." Yang said, cupping Athena's cheeks in her shaky hands. "I know, you're still in there. If you can hear my voice, then show me. Because I know my daughter is stronger then this, and would never let something like this hold her down."

~Athena's Mindscape~

Athena sat, terrified, and curled up in Saffron's embrace, as the mindscape around her was filled with shattered pieces, like she'd been surrounded by mirrors that were now floating in the air, as former remnants of what they once were.

"Mom?" Athena questioned, Yang's voice registering to her. "I'm sorry, but I'm not strong enough to fight them." She said, Saffron licking her comfortingly.

"You wish for the power to fight again?"

Athena's eyes opened wide as her head shot up, when she heard that voice echoing around her. Looking around, Athena found she was no longer in the shattered mindscape, with Saffron missing as well. Rather then the black void that was her mind, Athena found herself surrounded by nothing but a deep blood red void, with the silhouette of a Grimm, a red soulless dragon Grimm with curled ram horns, towering over her. The form was too shrouded for Athena to make out completely, but it was safe to say, she knew it wasn't Saffron.

"Who are you? Where's Saffron?" Athena questioned.

"Don't be like that little one. You and I have joined forces before, I believe it was… on the train that crashed through Central Park Vale some years ago?" The Grimm smirked.

"When I…" Athena questioned, as the memories of what happened that night on the train, came flooding back to her. "No, I… I killed that man?" She panicked, grabbing her head with her left hand, as her body began to shake.

"No, you just badly injured him. But it's good to see you remembered what had happened." The Grimm said. "Do you still wish for the power to fight?"

Athena quite her shaking and lowered her arm, before looking back up at the Grimm.

"What the hell kind of question is that?" Athena asked. "Of course I do. I'll keep on fighting, until my last breath. My entire life, I've been treated badly, because I'm a Faunus, but I've grown stronger. I'm no longer the same little girl who was scared of her own shadow. I'll push through any challenge in front of me, and I won't stop until I've protected everyone I care about. I'm not done yet."

"Even though your mind was shattered, as you were tortured nearly to death by Belos, and his subordinates?" The Grimm asked. "Your torment was extremely worsened, when you helped those Leviathans escape captivity."

"As I said, I'm now done yet." Athena stated. "I won't stop, until Belos knows my rage. Until he knows my pain."

The Grimm was silent for a moment, before it began to laugh and lowered its head to Athena.

"I knew there was something special about you." The Grimm said, sounding smug. "Then I shall give you the power you desire, and you shall be strong enough to repair your shattered mind, and defeat the demon known as Warden Wrath. But the power you'll have to fight with, will only last for five minutes."

"That's all I'll need." Athena growled looking at the Grimm with a determined expression on her face, as the Grimm raised its claws, showing a vial of blue liquid, that seemed to glow with power. "What's that?"

"This, dear child is the 'medicine' that will be used to repair your mind. Your body is currently up against a pile of contraband, and this jar along with its contents, happens to be a part of that pile. Drink the contents, and your mind will repair itself, once that is done, then you shall have my power. But heed my warning, if you fail to finish the fight before time runs out, you will die by Warden Wrath's hand."

"Like I told you, five minutes is all I need." Athena stated, before the Grimm lowered a single claw and gently, tapped it to her forehead.

"Do me a favor young one, and show that bastard Hell."

~Reality~

Athena found herself in reality, having complete control over her body, but was barely able to move it. Managing to turn her head, Athena spotted the jar the Grimm had spoken of, before she reached out with her arm.

"I think, she's wanting this." Luz said, handing the jar to Athena.

Yang watched with baited breath, as Luz put the jar in Athena's hand, before the Faunus teen bit down on the cork that sealed the jar, trying to remove it.

"I got ya kiddo." Eda said, removing the cork.

Before anyone else could do anything, Athena began drinking the blue liquid, as if it were her favorite drink. Once the last of the contents left the jar, Athena threw it over to the side, her body seizing up, before she passed out.

"Athena." Yang cried out in fear.

"Seems the contents of that jar were poison. Good riddance to another Covenless witch, I say." Warden Wrath said.

"You shut your mouth." Luz cried out.

Athena's eyes shot open, as she gasped for air, surprising the others around her. She began to feel a burning sensation rushing through her body, originating from the substance she drank, before the power within her began to pulse, and convulse scaring and concerning those around her.

"What's happening to her?" Luz asked as Athena turned herself over.

"I'm scared." King said, hugging Yang.

Athena's eyes shrank in pain as she felt her body convulse. Gripping the stone beneath her hand, creating gouges in the stone, as dark energy sprouted from the nubs of what used to be her limbs, before they formed into an arm and leg, matching the length of her remaining limbs. Her arm and leg were black with blood red cragged markings, while her fingers and toes were blood red with black cragged markings and black nails that looked sharp as razors. Forcing herself to her feet, Athena's gaze shot up, and was aimed straight at Warden Wrath.

Slowly, the darkness of her limbs, crawled over Athena's body, enveloping her in black and red essence, like a second skin, stopping right at the underside of her jaw, when she'd looked up, Athena's eyes had black sclera with red irises, and royal blue pupils. The black tips of her locks traveled up the rest of her hair, turning it jet black. Crouched on all fours like an animal, as strings of purple electricity sparked around her body, Athena let out a monstrous roar, before she pressed her new foot into the ground, and charged straight at Wrath. The Warden of the Conformatorium, didn't even have time to react as Athena was in his face.

"Oh shit." He cursed, before Athena slammed her fist into his face.

"The hell's happened to my baby girl?" Yang questioned.

"I don't know, but she's certainly giving Wrath a run for his money." Eda said. "It must have something to do with whatever was in that jar she drank from."

"I'm gonna take what remains, and have a friend of mine, analyze it." Yang said. "I've got someone in Bonesborough who should be able to identify what this substance is."

Athena, continued to charge at the Warden, slamming her fist into his face, breaking his mask, the force of her strike, sending him back into a wall. Athena continued to hit him relentlessly, before Yang managed to grab her, and pull the former prisoner off of him.

"Athena, that's enough." Yang stated. "Athena Marvell Xiao Long. That is enough. He's had enough."

Athena continued to struggle to break free of Yangs grasp, before she burned out, with steam pouring from her body, and the black and red cragged armor vanishing, leaving behind her limbs.

"He's had enough Athena." Yang said. "C'mon, it's time we get out of here."

~The Owl House~

"I'm so happy to have you back Athena." Blake said, sitting at the table in the kitchen, while hugging Athena, as Domino rubbed up against the girl. "I can't believe you were in the Conformatorium, being tortured, all this time. I am so sorry, we didn't find you sooner; it must have been so difficult for you to be there."

"It was hard to endure. Painful, but thankfully, I never gave up hope, even when my mind shattered, I knew you and mom would come find me, somehow." Athena said, now dressed in a spare set of Luz's clothes. "I gotta thank Luz as well, for lending me these clothes."

"Speaking of, seems like Luz is gonna be staying a while." Yang said coming into the kitchen, and turning to the stove. "Seems like she wants to learn how to be a witch, like Eda."

"That'll be interesting to see." Blake chuckled.

"So… I have a little brother now? That's cool." Athena said.

"Well, it's not what you think Athena." Yang said.

"Eda agreed to let us live in the Owl House, in exchange for helping to take care of King." Blake explained. "Eventually, one thing led to another, and he sort us saw us as his parents."

"But just because he's part of the family, doesn't mean we don't love you any less." Yang added, cooking up some drinks. "Want some hot choco smilk? It's this worlds equivalent to hot chocolate. It's pretty good actually."

"I could go for a cold drink actually." Athena said. "One of the torture methods use on me, would be pouring boiling hot water down my throat. It didn't work or hurt but…"

"Being manhandled like that, is something you don't wanna remember, right?" Blake asked.

"Yeah."

"Oh, my poor baby girl. I am so sorry." Blake said, tears in her eyes, as she held Athena closer.

"I don't even wanna think, about the other stuff they did to you in there." Yang exclaimed.

"Aside from the torture, nothing that you wouldn't normally find in a prison." Athena said, her words causing Yang and Blakes eyes to widen in shock, as they knew about the sort of stuff that normally happened in a prison. "I'm just glad to be back with you, to be home with you." She stated, tears in her own eyes.

"Hey, everything's gonna be okay, I promise honey." Blake said.

"I'm gonna go out for a bit." Yang stated, turning off the stove. "I'll pick up some cold drinks, while I'm out."

"Yang, are you sure that's a good idea?" Blake asked.

"Yeah, I just gotta get a breather." Yang stated, sparks of flames igniting on her hands, before she left, with Ember hopping up on her shoulder.

"Mama…" Athena began. "While I was in there, I managed to use my shadow magic, to grab a couple of things, that had been found."

Reaching into her shadow, Athena pulled out what she'd grabbed, causing Blake's eyes to widen, as the items were put on the table.

"Aunt Ruby, and Aunt Weiss's weapons." She said, as the light gleamed off of them. "They're here, on the Boiling Isles, but I don't know where."
