I come here today bearing some… bad news? Good news? For now, let's just call it interesting news.
So, I'm sure you already read the updated synopsis and you're probably wondering what's going on. Well, I'll tell you…
This current version of The Empress is being drawn to a close. But, fear not, because it is not being abandoned. It is merely being reworked. Oh, and also I have a new account. So many things to explain!
So, let's get to it!
Alright, so I'm well aware that I've been gone for a little while. And, long, long story short… it's been quite a year. I've hit the highest of highs and sunk to the lowest of lows. And all of it was so worth it. I've never really… put myself out there, so to say, so much that compared to the past year, just throwing myself in the oddest of situations and making the best of it. And, sure, it bit me in the ass a few times, but overall, nothing could have been better.
And… I'm not the same person I was when I stopped posting regularly on here. I don't have the same mindset about writing anymore. I mean, sure, I'm still mostly the same: I'm still the same dorky, music-loving (except I have more music in my arsenal than ever before now, bwahahaha), fanfic writer that you remember. But I've… evolved, so to say. And I think it's time for me to let go of the past and embrace a bright new future.
Plus, a new and updated name is pretty cool.
But, I will go ahead and tell you this: what I'm about to begin posting from now on will be… different. I've decided that I can no longer afford to give a fuck what people think about my writing anymore. I can't hold myself back anymore and write about things I don't really care about just because I'm concerned that it might not get a healthy number of reviews.
So… yeah. So get ready for some really wonky stories and weird styles. Will all of them work? Probably not! But that's the glory of true experimentation! You learn what new things work and what new things don't work!
Alright then, so… The Empress.
I got a chance to reread the whole thing these past few days, and…
Fuck. Wow.
WHAT. A. MESS.
Since the story's been out of mind for a while and I was able to read it with a fresh set of eyes, I was able to see it for what it was. Overall, The Empress is a convoluted, confusing, inconsistent mess. It has some ideas which I really like, but those ideas get overshadowed by the rest of the nonsense. I could write a whole thesis here about everything wrong with the story, but, I don't think you'd be terribly interested. After all, if you're reading this, then you're probably here to get the news of what will happen to the story.
Well, fear not! It's not being abandoned!
Redwall4ever and I have decided to tear it down. All of it. Part 1, Part 2, and that one chapter of Part 3 that's out. All of it must go. We will start from the beginning once more, creating a new story that is… not quite the same as before. So, if you read the original story, then great, but if you didn't it's quite fine, because you'll not be at any disadvantage. And if you have read it already, then pay close attention to the new one, because it will not be the same. The plot and certain characters will be drastically different.
And so… The Remixed Version is born!
When I post the first chapter or prologue or teaser or whatever for the new story, I'll give some more explanation of what new and old readers alike should expect from the story, but I think this concludes everything that I wanted to say in this post.
And so… I will say goodbye to you for now!
