"What are you doing?"

Kaden had taken his father's camera and mounted it on a structure of Legos, positioned so that it was recording a pair of minifigures facing each other.

He paused before answering. "I'm making a movie."

"This is my camera, you can't just take things without asking."

Kaden looked down. "I know."

When he looked back up, his father was handing him a piece of paper. Kaden took it and read the wording on it.

"Brickfair?"

"I know it's pretty far away, but I've seen some of the stuff you've built with these and I think you'd be interested in this."

Kaden returned the camera to his father. "Thanks."

Music could be heard echoing through the basement. Kaden had recently bought a whole bunch of Legos off of one of his old friends, who was in the process of moving to Germany. He was setting up his new build on one of those tables - you know the ones, they have built-in Lego platforms and stuff - and had just started putting the minifigures in place when he heard the beep of the laundry dryer. He dropped what he was doing and left the room to take care of that. Whe he went upstairs to put the clothes away, one minifigure moved its hand. Its arms then pushed back, allowing it to stand up on its own. On its orange torso was a printed silver pattern, meant to resemble a construction worker's vest. On its yellow head was a simple face; a smile with two dots for eyes. Printing on its leg showed a tag, which displayed the figure's name: Emmet.

"Guys? Lucy? Batman?"

As Emmet scanned the room, he found no sign of his friends' presence. Only himself on this raft in the middle of the ocean. Where was he? Where were the others? He was taken out of his thoughts by the sight of a grey fin in the distance. The fin advanced towards him and he knew there was nowhere to run. If this shark was going to eat Emmet, he couldn't do anything about it.

The fin was soon right in front of the raft, but then it went under. Emmet looked in every direction to see where it emerged and was soon greeted by a shark jumping out of the water right in his face. But the shark didn't attack him, of even leave the water.

"You new around here?"

Did that shark just talk to me?

"Uh... yes, I am," Emmet hesitantly replied.

The shark went back underwater, though Emmet wasn't completely sure why. Maybe he was telling his friends about him?

Emmet turned around and saw a man, a human man, walking down the stairs with an empty basket in his arms.

There's another man upstairs?

The man watched wide-eyed as the shark returned to the surface, followed by two other sharks, and dropped the basked without bothering to pick it up.

"WHAT THE FU-"
