Jaune made his way through the woods. They must have exited the Forever Fall while he was fighting Adam, as these trees were now green instead of red. He kept watch for Grimm as he walked, a hand on his blaster. While he didn't understand the dark side creatures completely, he understood that they were hostile.

Eventually, he saw the wall. Exiting the woods, he saw just how far it went. It completely dwarfed the wall surrounding Luton, which made sense, seeing as this was a large city, and Luton was just a village.

Looking back, Jaune raised his hand to block the sunlight. The sun was setting, meaning the train ride had taken longer than Jaune thought.

He looked across the wall, looking for an entrance. He remembered where the train was going, and figured there would be an entrance there. So he began to walk along the wall.

It didn't take him long to see a gap in the wall. There was an entrance for the train, its track suspended off the ground. But below looked like a checkpoint. With armored guards at the entrance. This seemed like Jaune's best bet, that or cutting a hole in the wall with his lightsaber.

Walking up to the entrance, he waved to the guards. Attempting to be friendly, but got no response from the guards, who stayed stoic. He approached, and one of the guards opened his mouth to speak.

"Identification please." He said, Jaune was unable to read his face as it was blocked by a helmet.

"Identification?" Jaune questioned, thinking how he was going to be able to get out of this.

"Yes. You need identification to enter the city of Vale." The guard said, obviously bored. The second guard came up behind him to look at Jaune.

"Right… Here's my identification." Jaune said. Thinking quickly, he put his arm behind him. Before raising it back up towards the two. He channeled the Force, and reached into the minds of the two guards.

"You want to let me pass." Jaune said, waving his hand in a slow motion.

"I… want to let you pass." The guards muttered in unison. They each moved to the side, Jaune walked forward, guilt tugging his heart. He disliked having to use a mind trick on innocent people, but sometimes there were no other options.

He easily passed by the two, and quickly got out of sight before the mind trick wore off. He didn't once before, and the results weren't pleasant.

Now, he was finally inside Vale.

The city… didn't quite live up to the expectations. But Jaune figured you I had seen one city, you had seen them all. Especially after living on Coruscant for years. That entire planet was a giant city.

Still however, he could appreciate the culture and atmosphere of a city. Each one was different. This one felt more… alive. With no threat of way hanung over their heads, Jaune could feel the happiness and joy coming off everyone.

It was… pleasant. A very different feel than what he was used too. There had been no change between the clone wars and the Empire. People in the galaxy were always on edge, as if one wrong move could bright the fight to their home.

These people though?

Jaune walked near a park, seeing human and Faunus people playing with their children, with no concern whatsoever.

It gave him a smile.

Jaune spent the rest of the day simply wandering the city. As he had no currency to spend, he was content with simply standing outside and looking into the shops that dotted the streets.

Looking through one window, he found what seemed to be a weapon shop. As he watched through the glass, a father and a young child walked throughout the shop. Jaune was surprised, not expecting a weapons shop to be just out in the open.

The girl grabbed a giant gun. Almost three times the size of her. She looked giddy holding it, and the father just laughed at her enthusiasm. Jaune walked away, shaking his head in disbelief.

This planet was truly strange.

Jaune continued to drift, moving from place to place. Hunger started to grow within his stomach, and he looked longingly at a restaurant. But without money, Jaune knew it would be wrong to ask for food. So he kept moving. After all, he had gone longer without food before.

He seemed… strangely not out of place in Vale. His attire seemed to fit alongside the colorful and unique clothing of the citizens, and it wasn't out of place to see the occasional person wielding a weapon. The threat of Grimm must have been larger than Jaune thought if citizens had access to this level of weaponry.

The sun slowly drifted down the horizon, plunging the city into night. And as Jaune walked along the sidewalk illuminated by the streetlights, he ran into less and less people. Most likely going home with their families. Jaune had no place like that to go to.

Even on a new planet with no preconceived notions on what he was, he was still alone. He'd probably find an alleyway to huddle down in for the night, he had spent plenty of nights in alleyways before, one more wouldn't hurt.

But for now, he followed the Force. Continuing to feel the uniqueness of the planet as he walked.

Eventually, he stumbled across a shop that was still open late at night. The lights were on, and Jaune looked up at the sign.

From Dust till Dawn.

A dust shop? Jaune thought, and decided to enter. Maybe he could learn some more about Dust itself, and its properties.

Walking into the store, a little bell sounded. He waved to the store owner, an older gentleman. The owner waved back with a smile. Jaune made his way towards the back left corner, noticing another shopper on the opposite side. She wore a red cloak that hid what she looked like.

After spotting several dust containers, Jaune picked up one carrying yellow Dust. He assumed this was electricity dust. Taking out his translation paper, he slowly read the label.

Sure enough, it said electricity. That meant it could most likely resist his lightsaber.

Adam's sword must have used this.

Jaune thought, going to place the container back in its place. It's not like he could pay for it.

He heard another ding, and turned to look at who entered.

In front of a group of men that all dressed in similar black suits, red sunglasses, and black hats, stood one man. He wore a black hat, and white coat with black gloves. His hair was orange, and dramatically flared to the right. In his right hand, he held a cane. Jaune raised an eyebrow at the strange occurrence.

One of the men drew a small gun, and pointed it at the old shopkeeper. He raised his hands out of fear. Jaune's brow furrowed, and his hand went to his lightsaber, only to change directions and move to the recently acquired sword.

"You know the deal, all the Dust old man." The man in the white coat said. He motioned with his hand, and two groups split off from the main crowd. One coming towards Jaune, the other most likely going towards the other girl.

"Alright kid, no funny business." He said, bringing his own gun up.

"What are you doing?" Jaune asked, slowly gripping the sword.

"Isn't it obvious? We're robbing you." The man said, his friend holding a small blade in his hand.

"Why?" Jaune asked.

"What? Who asks that-" He cut the man off by drawing the sword. It was slower than his lightsaber, but he was still faster than the man.

The blade met the man's gun. If it was Jaune's lightsaber it would have cut the gun clean in half, but it instead just smacked the weapon out of his hand. Jaune compensated for this, and brought the blade back up for a slash across his chest.

The man went down, and his friend attacked with his own blade. Jaune countered, but felt the sword's weight when he did so. He wasn't used to the blade itself having weight, and as the two's blades were locked, Jaune extended his hand and Force pushed him away.

The man flew backwards, as well as another man from the other side of the room. The girl in the red hood held a giant scythe as a weapon. How she was able to hide it beforehand eluded Jaune.

However, the men in black's attention was split. Half fired upon the girl, who took cover behind a counter, while the rest of the men opened fire on Jaune.

The girl with the scythe became a red blur, running out from behind cover, she swung her scythe in a wide arc. Hitting low and knocking the men off their feet. Jaune dodged underneath the wave of bullets, running towards his attackers. He extended his left hand, pushing them back with the Force. Most hit the fall and fell to the ground groaning, but one landed on his back and tried getting back up.

The girl with the scythe sped forward in a spiral of red, leaving rose petals behind. She came out of the spiral amd kicked the man mid-air. Changing his directory, and making him fly through the window.

The man in the white coat was gone, however. But after looking, Jaune spotted him outside.

"Hi! I'm Ruby!" The girl, Ruby, said, holding her scythe with her right hand, and extended her left.

"Jaune Arc, nice to meet you Ruby." Jaune replied, shaking the girls hand.

"Lets get after him!" Ruby yelled, turning into the red spiral and speeding out the broken window.

Jaune exited through the door.

Sword drawn at his side, he made sure to stand next to Ruby as she confronted the man in the white coat. The man himself just looked down at the unconscious person he had brought with him.

"Tsk, tsk. You were all worth the money, truly you were." The man said, and Jaune caught him discreetly pressing a button on his cane.

"I'm afraid this is where I'll be leaving you two. Red, blonde? See ya." The man said, and quickly brought his can up. The end was hollow, and Jaune felt the Force yell out to him about the danger present.

The man fired his cane-gun, and a red projectile fired at the two. Jaune noticed Ruby raised her arms and turned to try and dodge the shot. He however, quickly raised his hand and reached with the Force.

He tried to slow the projectile down, but as soon as it came in contact with the Force the projectile exploded.

Jaune quickly changed strategies and pushed both his hands forward, dropping his sword in the process. Making a quick barrier with the Force, it caused the fire to go around him and Ruby, before the explosion dissipated.

"Wow, that was cool! Was that your semblance? Is it a barri- wait he's getting away!" Ruby said, pointing up at the rooftop. As the man finished climbing up a ladder and disappeared.

"I'll boost you, ready?" Jaune asked, and Ruby looked at him confused.

Jaune grabbed her with the Force, and propelled her upwards.

"WAAAH!!!" She yelled, flipping mid-air. But she held on to her weapon tightly, and was flying towards the correct rooftop.

Ruby quickly stabilized herself however, and after turning into a red spiral again, she landed safely on top of the roof.

Jaune followed quickly after, running towards the building and jumping upwards. He enhanced his jump with the Force, allowing him to grab hold of the edge of the roof.

Pulling himself upwards, he witnessed something extremely confusing.

He recognized Ruby, her scythe having transformed into a large gun. She stood next to another woman, who had her own strange weapon pointed upwards at a ship. She had blonde hair, wore a white shirt with a black skirt. She used some sort of telekinesis, leaving a purple aura on the items she affected.

On the ship, Jaune spotted a woman shrouded in darkness. Fire and glass emerged from her hands, raining down on the rooftop. Trying to hit Ruby and the other woman, only for it to be blocked what Jaune could only assume to be her semblance.

Jaune noticed that the ship was attempting to take off. He reached his arms forward, attempting to hold the ship in place while using the Force. The ship lurched in place, the momentum lost made the woman aboard almost lose her balance.

Drawing his blaster with one hand, the other held onto the ship. He waited for the right moment, as he watched the woman in shadow fight the woman in white.

There.

He fired. The red blaster bolt flew through the air at breakneck speeds, moving perfectly through the air and avoiding the flying glass. The woman saw the shot coming for her too late, and the weak glass barrier didn't prevent the blaster bolt from hitting her in the shoulder.

She flung her shoulder back in shock, but Jaune couldn't hear if she made a sound or not on account of the ships jets being nearby. The blonde haired woman took this opportunity to use her telekinesis and throw the debris caused by the fight back at the ship.

The debris collided, making terrible noises as it did so. The ship's pilot took that moment to turn, and fly off. Jaune gripped the ship with the Force, slowing its flight down immensely. He strained, but eventually lost control, letting the ship fly off into the air.

Placing his hands on his hips, Jaune sighed in defeat. Turning to look at the blonde haired woman, he was surprised to see her stern face. With Ruby behind her looking ashamed.

"I need you to come with me." The woman said, her attitude clear in her voice, and catching Jaune off guard.

"Alright."

An interrogation room. They brought him to an interrogation room. He offered his assistance and this is how they treat him.

Well, it was better than just being immediately thrown in a cell.

He leaned back in his chair, resting his feet atop the table. Jaune sighed, crossing his arms over his chest. Wondering what was taking them so long.

He reached out to the Force, and the living Force within those around him answered the call. Giving him a good sense on where the people outside the room were.

Someone was approaching his room, and it caught him off guard. From what he could sense, this person was unique in the Force, it was… different from those around him. As if there were several living Force stacked on each other. More than one for sure, but how many Jaune could not tell.

The door opened, and the enigma revealed himself to be a man.

He was tall, and thin. With white hair, and a pair of glasses resting on his face. He wore a black suit with a small green scarf around his neck. In his hand, he walked with a strangely made cane.

Jaune took his feet off the table, and scooted his chair in. As the man took a seat opposite from him.

"Hello, my name is Professor Ozpin. May I ask for your name?" The man, Ozpin asked.

"Jaune Arc. It's nice to meet you sir." Jaune said, relying on the diplomacy skills taught to him at the Jedi Temple. One of the lessons taught was how to treat officials of other planets. No matter their rank, you were to treat them with respect so as to not incite conflict.

"I apologize for the inconvenience, but this was the easiest way to talk to you in person Mr. Arc." Ozpin said, tapping his cane on the floor.

"I didn't know I'd caught your attention, Professor Ozpin." Jaune replied. Always use their title when talking to the official, another lesson.

"Hm, well word travels fast on Remnant. Your actions at Luton for starters, and your fight with the Taurus fellow on that train." Ozpin said, and Jaune sighed. Quietly, but loud enough for Ozpin to hear.

"I wouldn't worry, you're not in trouble." Ozpin reassured Jaune, switching his cane from one hand to the other.

"However I do have a proposal for you. Or, more of an invitation." Ozpin said, seemingly awaiting a reaction from Jaune. However, he just stared in slight confusion.

"Seeing as you didn't recognize me, allow me to fully introduce myself. My name is Professor Ozpin, and I am headmaster of Beacon Academy. Now, who are you?" Ozpin said.

"I'm Jaune Arc. If you're asking where I'm from, my home… my town was destroyed a few years ago." Jaune said, the last part weighing heavily on him.

"Ah… I'm terribly sorry, I shouldn't have pressed." Ozpin said in a somber tone.

"Well, I would like to give you an invitation to join my school." Ozpin said, sitting up in his chair.

"I'm certain your skills would be extremely useful as a huntsman. And with the proper training, perhaps you will grow even further."

"There are monsters in the world Mr. Arc, we could use all the help we can." Ozpin finished, and Jaune leaned backwards in his chair.

The offer was… intense. The opportunity to learn alongside these strange people and their abilities could bring some answers to questions he still had. Considering that Jaune had no money that would work on this planet, a school would also be a place to stay, and meals would hopefully be provided. And… maybe it would be like the Jedi Temple again.

"I accept."

Jaune walked out of the police station a free man, only to realize he had nowhere else to go.

He looked back to the building he had just exited. Wishing he had asked for a place to room for the night. But oh well, he didn't want to be a burden.

Finding an alleyway, Jaune hunkered down for the night. Quickly drifting off to sleep, as tomorrow would be an interesting day.
