CHAPTER 1:

PROJECT GRID, PART 1

A lot has happened in Midoriya's life. He was born Quirkless, constantly bullied by his 'best friend' for being Quirkless, and All Might telling him that he couldn't be a hero without a Quirk. It all changed when a certain bad day became a lucky day. A Master Morpher chose him to carry on the Power Rangers legacy. He learned about the heroic deeds of numerous Power Rangers, some of them are Quirkless, which greatly inspired him to become a hero once again and accepted to become the new Power Ranger.

Midoriya spent months training with his Quirk that he inherited from the Master Morpher, guided by the holographic version of Tommy Oliver. A legendary ranger who was once corrupted by Rita Repulsa before joining the original team of Power Rangers - The Mighty Morphin. He managed to successfully enroll in his dream school after becoming first place in the practical exam, almost beating All Might's score.

A few days later, chaos ensued in the U.S.J. due to a group of villains called the 'League of Villains'. He was having a difficult time fighting two strongest men of Lord Drakkon - Ranger Slayer and Koragg the Knight Wolf. He managed to save the latter from Lord Drakkon's dark influence while the former escaped without leaving a trace. During the incident, Uraraka and Asui were chosen to become Power Rangers. The three of them then called themselves the Legacy Rangers.

In the present, they are currently in the Dagobah Beach to train their Quirks as stronger enemies will soon appear in the future. They were then greeted by an unknown boy. The boy was Sam, the S.P.D. Omega Ranger. Midoriya was shocked because he thought all S.P.D. Rangers, Power Rangers in general, were killed by Lord Drakkon's men, but it seems one survived.

"Is it a bit shocking that I'm alive?" Sam asked curiously.

"How do I know that you're the real Sam?" Midoriya asked cautiously. "There's a chance that Lord Drakkon probably has the ability to clone a deceased Ranger."

There was some brief silence. Uraraka and Asui were ready to use their morphers while Midoriya remained calm yet nervous on the inside. The people who passed by what was going on, shrugged it off as a bunch of kids playing 'heroes' on a beach.

Sam chuckled, "Good. You ask some good questions. It's a good thing you suspect me first before assuming that I'm the real Sam. But yes, I'm the real one. Lord Drakkon doesn't have the capability of cloning dead Rangers… yet."

"The last part is very reassuring." Midoriya said sarcastically. "But how are you here!? How are you alive!?"

Sam looked behind him in case there are spies, "It's best to not have a conversation here. There's too many people. It would've been fine if a certain someone didn't clean up all the trash."

"Huh!? Have you been watching me!?" Midoriya felt terrified that someone had been watching him the whole time, even if they are superheroes.

"Yes. We needed to know the kind of person that the Master Morpher chose. That morpher is currently the most powerful morpher in creation. We didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands." Sam answered. "But rest assured that we only watched you when it's necessary. It's how we know about the U.S.J. Incident. We haven't been watching your personal lives."

Uraraka and Asui sighed in relief, 'Thanks the heavens!'

"C'mon. I'll take you to our base." Sam said before pressing a button in his wrist morpher.

Suddenly, a gigantic pink submarine emerged from the ocean. The submarine was much bigger than an ordinary submarine, meaning that this was a Zord. To be precise, it's a Zord owned by the Pink Overdrive Ranger called the Sub Driver. For some unknown reason, the civilians weren't able to see the humongous vehicle. There must be an invisible force that only Rangers can see the Zord.

"Holy moly…" Uraraka was in disbelief by the appearance of the vehicle. This would cause billions to buy, probably even more than that. Nobody could probably afford this amazing vehicle.

Asui turned her attention to Midoriya, "Are we getting one of those?"

"I don't know. I can turn into a Zord, but never personally drove one." Midoriya answered. He can transform into the Titan Phoenix physically thanks to the Red Mystic Ranger's magical abilities, but has never driven Zord manually.

"When Lord Drakkon left our universe, the remaining Rangers who hid from him scavenged the remaining Zords that were broken and repaired it in our 'new' base." Sam explained. "The new being 'an old Ranger base that is transported in this universe'."

"I have so many questions." Midoriya said.

"Save it for when we get to the base." Sam said before signalling the three new Rangers to enter the submarine. He doesn't have to tell them what to do as their instincts of being a Power Ranger will know how to enter the Zord.

As the Sub Driver submerged back from the ship, it went on a journey to take the new Rangers on the base. Sam was piloting the Zord in his S.P.D. Omega Ranger formed while the three students were in awe from the interior of the submarine as well as seeing marine lift on the circular window.

'I never thought I would be inside a Zord!' Midoriya exclaimed enthusiastically in his thoughts. 'This is awesome!'

'This is a Zord that Midoriya talked about, ribbit.' Asui was filled with awe. She began to love this Zord as it's specifically designed for underwater exploration. She hopes to have this type of Zord one day.

'This is so cool. I wonder how the Zords were made' Uraraka couldn't stop thinking about how expensive the Zords are in general. Who has enough money to make gigantic vehicles to combat against giant monsters, who are much taller than the newcomer Pro Hero, Mount Lady!?

After five minutes have passed, they almost reach their destination. The three hero trainees looked outside the window, which surprised them. There was a humongous underwater base a few feet away from them. The Zord may be larger, but the base itself was larger than most buildings in the world, definitely larger than Burj Khalifa. It was the Lightspeed Aquabase, home to the Lightspeed Rangers.

"What do you guys think?" S.P.D. Omega Ranger asked curiously.

"It's beautiful." Midoriya, Uraraka, and Asui answered in unison.

S.P.D. Omega Ranger chuckled, "You should've seen the other bases… if the majority of them weren't destroyed completely."

Upon docking, S.P.D. Omega Ranger and the children entered the base while a couple of agents rushed in to guard the Zord immediately from presumably any traitors. They wouldn't rule out that realm of possibility, given Lord Drakkon's false promises and manipulation.

"Rangers, welcome to the Lightspeed Aquabase!" S.P.D. Omega Ranger expressed his welcome to the Legacy Rangers. "How do you like it so far?"

"Even better on the inside." Midoriya answered.

"That's good. C'mon, our leader is waiting for you." S.P.D. Omega Ranger signalled them to follow him without wasting any time.

As all of them headed to meet with the current leader of this base, a couple of onlookers were curious about the new Rangers. One of those onlookers were veteran Power Rangers who were watching closely at them.

"So they're the new team of Power Rangers." An unknown girl said. "I never thought we would see another generation of Power Rangers after Lord Drakkon decimated most of us and took our morphers."

"There will always be a new team of Power Rangers no matter how much evil pushes us away." An unknown man said. "It's the destiny of Power Rangers to remain in this world, protecting the world from any threats, no matter what it takes."

The girl snorted, "When did you become so smart?"

"Since when I hit puberty." The man answered with a smile.

These two veterans were Justin Stewart and Rose Ortiz, formerly known as Blue Turbo Ranger and Pink Overdrive Ranger. And by "formerly", meaning that they do not have the ability to morph into Power Rangers anymore after Lord Drakkon stole their morphers why they were critically injured and hiding from him. At least Rose is grateful that her invisibility ability remains while Justin is essentially a normal, handsome man.

"Let's get to work. We wouldn't let the trainees slack off." Justin said.

Rose nodded, "Agreed."

In the main control room, a couple of computer operators were attempting to locate a specific target while a mysterious Red Ranger was communicating with a familiar person from Midoriya's memory.

"I can't believe…" Midoriya was bewildered by the familiar person.

"What is Midoriya-kun? Do you recognize them?" Asui asked curiously.

"I don't know the identity of that Red Ranger, but the person he's talking to…" Midoriya pointed at the person who was wearing a green hitatare with a katana sheathed on his hip. "That's Mike. The Samurai Ranger Forest or the Green Samurai Ranger from Samurai, sharing the same codename as Cam Watanabe from Ninja Storm."

"Power Rangers Samurai." Uraraka muttered. "Wait. If he's here, then wouldn't that mean there are other Rangers who survive the onslaught?"

"Don't get your hopes up, kids. Not all of us made it." The Red Ranger answered the question, dismissing Mike after their secret conversation.

"Nice to meet you, kids." Mike greeted the Legacy Rangers before leaving the room.

The mysterious Red Ranger then walked towards the children to greet them, "It seems you're the 24th team of Power Rangers, preceding Dino Fury. It's nice to meet you."

All of them bowed respectfully towards the Red Ranger.

"It's nice to meet you as well, sir." Midoriya greeted him back. "Please forgive my rudeness, but who are you? I've never heard of you or your team before."

"There are a lot of Power Ranger teams you haven't heard of before, kid. Squadron Rangers, Blitz Rangers, Supersonic Rangers, and more. I won't be surprised if you haven't heard of Omega Rangers." The Red Ranger explained. "And no, I'm not talking about Sam. His codename is simply coincidental to ours."

"Then… are you also a 'mysterious Ranger' from outer space?" Uraraka asked curiously.

"Well, I didn't say that." The Red Ranger said before taking off his helmet, which deeply shocked Midoriya who recognized him immediately. "Hi, I'm Jason Scott. The former Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin and currently the Red Omega Ranger. Nice to meet you."

All three of them were flabbergasted. The original Red Ranger was right before their very eyes with a brand new suit that was never seen before. One of the original members of Power Rangers was still alive and well, which is surprising given that Lord Drakkon targeted the original team first due to his pure hatred towards them compared to other teams.

"Considering all three of you are shocked, I'm guessing you already know everything about me." Jason said.

Asui nodded, "We do, though Midoriya has more knowledge about you than me and Ochaco, ribbit. We're new to this… Power Ranger business… ribbit."

"Yeah, sorry if we don't find you… a big deal." Uraraka felt the need to apologize in advance.

Jason chuckled, "No need to worry about that."

"I can't believe you are alive. How did you survive!? Did any of your team survive as well!?" Midoriya asked curiously. "Is the original Tommy Oliver alive!?"

"Woah. Slow down, kid." Jason admired his enthusiasm while hiding the sadness from within. The fate of his teammates isn't something he should talk about to anyone, but considering these children are the new Power Rangers, he needed to as a sign of trust. "As for those questions… I'm not sure. If they are alive, which is unlikely, then they are trapped in our universe where it's overrun by Drakkon's men."

"And Tommy…?" Midoriya asked.

Jason sighed in sadness, "He's gone, kid. I saw him killed before my eyes. Drakkon took my morpher, rendering me powerless. I couldn't do anything to save him or other Rangers."

"Oh, I… was hoping he was alive to f-" Midoriya couldn't admit that he wanted the original Tommy to find a way to restore the A.I. Tommy, but it's honestly a selfish wish for him. He decided to move past the topic. "How did you get a new morpher to transform into… that?"

"The Omega Morpher. I don't remember." Jason answered truthfully. "After Lord Drakkon left me unknowingly alive on the Moon, I managed to hide from the Sentries who were tasked to retrieve the Megazord scraps. Upon stealing one of their ships, I travelled beyond the universe to escape from them. The next thing I know, I was unconscious and woke up back on Earth somehow with a new morpher. I don't remember anything prior to my waking."

"I see… does that mean there are other Omega Rangers?" Midoriya wondered if there are other Omega Rangers, considering Jason is the Red Omega Ranger.

"I don't know. Hopefully so, but I'm not getting my hopes up." Jason answered before sighing and putting back the helmet. "Let's get to the real topic, you three may be wondering why you are here."

Uraraka nodded, "Y-Yeah. It's… honestly an honour to meet the heroes Deku-kun talked about, but something tells me that there's a… problem."

"Just like the same feeling when U.S.J. was attacked by the League of Villains and Drakkon's soldiers." Asui said. "Is there something wrong, Sir Jason?"

"Please, Jason is fine." Red Omega Ranger is uncomfortable with honorifics unless he's a teacher. He then activated a hologram in the middle of the room. "Before I get started, I assume you have heard of Project Grid?"

Midoriya nodded, "Yeah, Tommy told me about it. It's a project where new Power Rangers will be chosen in order to fight Lord Drakkon's men, but there's something I don't understand."

"Oh? Please tell me, Izuku Midoriya." Red Omega Ranger is curious about the child's question.

"A new Ranger is chosen by granting the new recruits with morphers, right? The Legendary Morphers are stored within the Master Morpher in order to be given to the chosen people, which is Uraraka and Tsu in this case." Midoriya summarized the Project Grid idea. "Now, what bothers me is that… What if more Rangers are chosen? There's only six Legendary Morphers to be given. There wouldn't be enough to give for the chosen ones."

Red Omega Ranger chuckled, "It looks Tommy didn't tell you everything, which is why I'm going to properly explain to you about Project Grid."

The Red Omega Ranger began to explain the Project Grid. In the beginning, Dr. K and Kat Manx were working on a project that could aid their war against Lord Drakkon who has been slaying Power Rangers left and right while stealing their morphers to give himself more power. They discovered a way to access the Morphing Grid without any consequence after one year. They began to build different morphers for new recruits as well as making a machine that can detect the chosen recruits on becoming the new Power Ranger. There was hope across the multiverse after all. With the aid of several Power Rangers, the tyrannical ruler doesn't stand a chance against all of them.

Unfortunately, their work was sabotaged by one of their trusted allies. The traitor was Kiya Kyatyl, whose family was slain by the Ranger Sentries after Lord Drakkon invaded Khoodjah (her home planet) in search of her planet's Power Rangers. Due to her paranoia and trauma, she believed that the Rangers were caused by Lord Drakkon's actions as their power attracted the cruel tyrant to her homeland. She destroyed some of the work relating to Project Grid and stole Kat Manx' morpher after stabbing her with a glass shard. She made her escape and was gravely wounded by the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger before teleporting away using Dr. K's teleporter.

While the S.P.D. Rangers mourned for the loss of their friend, Dr. K resumed her work while Ziggy Grover was right by her side to comfort her for what happened. Considering the majority of the Project Grid was destroyed, the only ones remaining were the machine to detect the chosen Rangers and the replica of Legendary Morphers that was secretly stashed away in case of emergency. Dr. K and Kat managed to build a replica using Gosei's secret blueprint.

"So that's how the Master Morpher has the possession of the Legendary Morphers. These are replicas from the original ones. No wonder it felt weird when Tommy said that the Megaforce Rangers were slain and their two morphers were taken by Drakkon." Midoriya understood now.

Uraraka and Asui were clueless about the whole conversation considering they're newbies. After this embarrassing moment for them, they'll consider reading the entire story of Power Rangers that Midoriya provided for them. There were over 1,000 pages, however, so it's going to take a long time for them.

"But that didn't answer my curiosity." Midoriya pointed out. "How are you going to choose new recruits? Did Dr. K discover something?"

"That, she did." Red Omega Ranger answered with a saddened expression behind his helmet. "It was a disaster though. It is what led to our… near extinction."

The Red Omega Ranger explained that Dr. K attempted to harness more of the Morphin Grid's energy to have more powerful morphers, basically surpassing the Zeo Crystals and Good Magic. As a result of that, she inadvertently caused a wormhole that ripped through space and time continuum, causing tremors across the universe and multiverse. Several of the prototype morphers were then sucked in by the wormhole before it closed. Their current base became a disastrous mess with papers and objects everywhere on the floor as well on the outside.

Dr. K became depressed as Ziggy attempted to comfort her into not giving up, but it reached to the point where her guilt exponentially increased after the creation of Venjix. She wasn't planning to make any more morphers and Project Grid was cancelled. And then, Lord Drakkon's armada ship located all of the Power Rangers on the Moon. All of the Rangers went to a one-sided war against Lord Drakkon and his army, resulting in their defeat and near extinction.

"In the aftermath, I managed to see Dr. K who was gravely injured. She was… hugging the crack helmet of RPM Green." Red Omega Ranger said. "She told me great news. Before Lord Drakkon invaded us, she managed to discover that the morphers were in different universes. They became functional, meaning Project Grid was still active. She then sadly passed away from her injuries."

"It was then you managed to escape from the Sentries and received your Omega Morpher mysteriously." Asui said. "Is there a possibility that the Omega Morpher is one of those prototype morphers and you were chosen to wield it, ribbit?"

"That possibility lingered in my mind for so long." Red Omega Ranger agreed with the possibility as well since the beginning, as there's no other explanation. "And so, I managed to meet up with other surviving Rangers as well as civilians who managed to escape from Lord Drakkon's regime. We found the Lightspeed Aquabase still intact and made it as a multiversal-hopping machine using Dr. K's rough draft blueprint."

"And that's how you ended up in our universe." Uraraka said before massaging her head. "This information… is way too much."

"Even I can't understand everything…" Midoriya said before regaining his composure. "So, are you saying that… there could be other Rangers out there!? In other universes!?"

"That seems to be the case according to Dr. K." Red Omega Ranger said. "And that's where you come in, Legacy Rangers. I'm requesting you to find those Power Rangers and ask for their aid in fighting against Lord Drakkon."

After hearing about this mission, Uraraka and Asui weren't so sure about accepting it. For one, their respective families will definitely worry about them for being gone that long. They're definitely going to question where they have been if their trip will take forever to accomplish. And second, they don't want to risk their lives in exploring the unknown. It may be a selfish decision, but nonetheless a logical one.

They may have heroic hearts, hence why the Project Grid chose them, but they have difficult goals in becoming heroes. It doesn't involve risking their lives to explore the literal unknown universe. At the same time, however, Lord Drakkon is literally targeting them. The three of them don't stand a chance against his armada. They can't have peaceful lives anymore once they become Power Rangers.

"By your reaction, you are having a difficult decision. I understand. I requested something different all of the sudden." Red Omega Ranger said. "Just to let you know that it's your decision whether or not you'll accept it. If you refuse, we'll find a way to recruit others albeit with more difficulty."

"Why can't you and the rest of the surviving Rangers do it, Jason?" Midoriya asked curiously. "Is it because they don't have their morphers? And you're the only one who has?"

Red Omega Ranger nodded, "That is right. Aside from me and Sam, neither of the surviving Rangers are Power Rangers anymore. I can't risk myself just in case Lord Drakkon will invade this base. I need to be here to protect my friends and allies. Sam can't go as he needs to keep an eye on the city for suspicious activity from Drakkon's men or Drakkon himself."

"Those are… good reasonings." Uraraka said, conflicted with whether to accept or deny the choice. She may consider herself being selfish for wanting to become a hero by earning money, but she does want to help people as it was her dream goal before her family suffered bankruptcy. She doesn't care about the spotlight or anything. She deeply wishes to help people like Thirteen, but her parents are top priority.

For Asui, she wanted to become a hero in order to inspire children to never commit bad decisions due to her big sister persona. Her home life helped shape her personality to fit the role of a hero, so she wants to help Jason in recruiting other Power Rangers, but venturing to the unknown deeply scares her.

"May we… think about this for a moment, Jason?" Midoriya has already made his decision in accepting this mission, but he certainly can't do this alone without his team. There's a reason why Rangers needed a team, as they can't do everything by themselves.

Jason nodded, "Alright, I'll be waiting for your answer tomorrow. The journey can wait. You must go home and rest. Sam will bring you back to the shore. Sam?"

A ball of white light flew in the room before forming into a Sam. Ever since the result of his time in 2025, he has the ability to transform into a ball of light manually. It gives him an advantage in watching the city from above.

"Yes, Jason?" Sam asked.

"Please take the Legacy Rangers back to the beach. They're exhausted." Red Omega Ranger requested his fellow Ranger with an objective.

"Yes, sir." Sam accepted the request before touching his wrist morpher. "S.P.D. Emergency!"

Sam morphed into the S.P.D. Omega Ranger in an instant.

"Follow me, kids." Omega Rangers said before running out the room immediately to prepare activating the Sub Driver.

Before the Legacy Rangers took one step outside, Midoriya stopped them out of concern.

"Are you okay?" Midoriya asked Uraraka and Asui worriedly.

"Y-Yeah, I… just need to think about this…" Uraraka answered.

"Same… ribbit." Asui answered the same.

The two of them leave, as Midoriya wonders whether the Project Grid made the right decision in choosing them as it essentially forces them to have a difficult life and become targets for Lord Drakkon. He felt guilty for bringing them into this type of hero business. He looked back to Red Omega Ranger, who gave him a slight nod, before leaving the room as well.

Inside the Sub Driver, the three of them were silent throughout the entire journey. Uraraka and Asui were still having a conflict decision while Midoriya was feeling awkward from the pure silence. The only thing he could hear was the sound of underwater and the engine of the Zord. He hopes anyone will break the silence sooner or later. He can't stand the quietness, as he's used to loud sounds. specifically from All Might videos and Bakugo's rant.

"Are you guys doing alright back there?" Sam asked with a concerned tone.

'Thank you, Sam!' Midoriya was grateful that Sam broke the silence.

"Yeah, we're fine. It's just…" Uraraka spoke first. "It's a lot to take in."

"Agreed, ribbit." Asui agreed. "We've recently become Power Rangers because Project Grid chose us for the sole purpose of fighting against Lord Drakkon and his army. And then, there's the fact that we have been given a mission to ask for aid in another universe. Isn't that crazy, ribbit?"

Sam sighed, "I understand. It's too much for you, and we respect your decision of refusal. But we wouldn't have asked for your help if we could do it ourselves. We are seriously underhanded right now, especially when some of our fellow Rangers couldn't morph anymore. We're basically… stuck."

"But what you're asking is… impossible for us." Uraraka said. "Not only will our family be worried about our whereabouts, we're also concerned about the possibility of dying. We have goals to achieve, mostly my goals… it's a selfish one…"

"Everybody has selfish goals. Being a Power Ranger isn't perfect. All of us have flaws." Sam said. "But that's what makes us heroes. We don't just simply embrace our own selfish desires, but also our heroic traits. The Project Grid wouldn't have been chosen if you're THAT selfish, meaning you have noble goals as well. And I hope to see that in the end."

Uraraka smiled, "Thanks for that, Sam."

"No problem. Just let me or Jason know if you're ready to partake on the mission." Sam said. "We, Power Rangers, always help one another. It's in our nature. I'm sure you'll experience that soon."

A few seconds later, the Sub Driver emerged from the ocean (still invisible to civilians). Midoriya, Uraraka, and Asui breathed in the fresh air as the Lightspeed Aquabase' oxygen was somehow weak, presumably because it was still damaged from the invasion by Lord Drakkon.

"Anyway, I'm off. They might need me back on the base." Sam said.

"See you later, S-" Midoriya was about to bid goodbye until an alarm interrupted him.

All of their morphers were having an emergency ringing. Sam pressed a button on his morpher, which showed a villain terrorizing the city near their location. Without hesitation, he jumped off the Sub Driver and made his way to the enemy.

"Are you going to stop that villain, Sam?" Midoriya asked.

"Yeah! Are you guys joining!?" Sam answered from a distance. "Always needed a hand!"

The three of them looked at each other.

"Shall we?" Midoriya asked awkwardly.

"I… guess? Are we even allowed to?" Uraraka asked, concerned about breaking the law. "We don't have our licence."

"I don't know, but we can't sit still and wait for other Pro Heroes to arrive. The villain will be getting away by then." Midoriya answered. "Besides, we're in our Ranger suits. Nobody will know it's us."

"Except for the fact our teachers and classmates do. They have seen our costumes, you know." Asui reminded him.

"That's… a good point." Midoriya admitted that he didn't think that through. "Let's just hope the fight takes place where there's no civilians, but I doubt. So, are you gals coming?"

Asui and Uraraka looked at each other with defeated expressions. They have no choice, as their solemn duties as Power Rangers are to defend the people from any threats no matter if they have licences or not. They will do whatever it takes to save people. It's in their…

"Nature." Asui and Uraraka said in unison after recalling Sam's words earlier. Both of them forma smiles.

Uraraka began to run first without hesitation, "Let's go, Midoriya."

"Race you there, ribbit." Asui said, as she ran and hopped like a friend at the same time.

Midoriya chuckled at their immediate change of expressions, "I guess being a Power Ranger immediately changed their mood swings."

He then proceeded to run after them and joined in the fun.

In the city, a couple of people were running away when a humanoid space pirate wearing an intimidating black armour and helmet with a giant starfish on the design was destroying the public property, along with monstrous Putties that have been evolved into rock-like monsters. There were a couple of downed Pro Heroes on the ground who didn't stand a chance against the villain.

"Who the hell is he!? How's he so strong!?" The first hero, who is a D-Rank, asked while groaning in pain.

"I don't know! I'm more freaked out about those monster goons! They're so strong!" The second hero, who is a C-Rank, answered while coughing blood.

"Hm!? You guys are alive, eh!? I guess heroes in this universe are tough!" The starfish space pirate then pointed one of his pistols while facing sideways due to his confidence. "My fun was satisfying! Bye! Bye!"

"NO!" The third hero, who is a C-Rank, yelled in despair.

Suddenly, S.P.D. Omega Ranger jumped in front of them. Once the space pirate began to fire multiple laser bullets from his single pistol, Omega activated Hyper Mode on his morpher to slow down time temporarily by transforming energy waves. He single handedly caught all the laser bullets before time resumed.

"Ah. If it isn't S.P.D. Omega Ranger. What a surprise." The space pirate didn't expect to see a Power Ranger today. "And here I thought Lord Drakkon had killed all of your kind. I guess you weren't extinct after all."

"What can I say, Thunder Starfish? Some of us are hard to kill." S.P.D. Omega Ranger then dropped the laser bullets on the ground, which deeply surprised the heroes. He then turned attention to the downed Pro Heroes. "I suggest you make a run for it and treat your wounds. Leave the battle to me."

All of the downed heroes accepted his offer, not questioning the identity of the mysterious hero. They just wondered if he's going to be fine facing that many monsters, but right now, they'll have to worry about themselves. They're definitely not going to be promoted to the next rank after this.

"Aww, worried I might injure them? Don't worry. Nothing will get in the way of our fun, Ranger." Thunder Starfish said while twirling both of his pistols.

The army of evolved Putties became increasingly unhinged due to the urge of attacking a Power Ranger. Thunder Starfish ordered them to remain calm and stand by until he says the word, much to their annoyance.

"You see, Lord Drakkon has tasked me to find any Power Rangers that are still alive in this universe." Thunder Starfish said. "I initially thought it was ridiculous because he annihilated you all, but seeing you here alive, it seems I was wrong."

"You're not getting the chance, Thunder Starfish." S.P.D. Omega Ranger prepares to use his morpher. "And just like last time, you'll be arrested! Surrender now, or face judgement time!

"You're not getting the chance, Ranger!" Thunder Starfish exclaimed before seeing three children behind the Ranger. "Hm!? Who're these brats!?"

Midoriya panted heavily, "Sorry we're late, Sam. You were too fast."

"Yeah, we're still not used to our extra… abilities." Uraraka said.

Asui nodded, "Ribbit. Ribbit."

"It's fine. Just be ready to morph." S.P.D. Omega Ranger reassured them that it's fine they're a bit late. "You're just in time for the show."

The three of them then had a serious expression before standing near the same line as S.P.D. Omega Ranger. All of them took out their morphers while facing directly at the villains.

"Ho. Ho. Ho. Christmas must've come early." Thunder Starfish was enthusiastic that there were more targets for him to capture. "Lord Drakkon will be pleased with this batch."

"Ready!?" Midoriya asked his teammates.

Asui and Uraraka nodded, "Ready!"

"It's Morphin' Time!" Midoriya shouted before pushing the Master Morpher forward. "Dino Thunder! Power Up! Ha!"

"Super Mega Mode!" Asui and Uraraka shouted in unison before putting the keys on their Legendary Morphers.

MORPHING SEQUENCE

Midoriya's outfit turned into a bright energy of light until the Dino Thunder logo appeared on the chest. He then flipped in the air, covering in black outfit mid-air, before landing back on the ground. The helmet appeared in his face before doing a pose while a mechanical brachiosaurus was roaring behind him.

"Brachio Power! Ha!" Midoriya, also known as Black Dino Ranger, announced while doing comedic poses.

A bright pink and green X passed through Uraraka and Asui, forming a black clothing with a pirate symbol in the middle. Another bright X passed through them, forming pink and green jackets. And the final X passed through their heads, forming pink and green helmets with a pirate symbol on their forehead.

"Super Megaforce Pink!" Uraraka announced while doing the comedic poses.

"Super Megaforce Green!" Asui announced while doing the comedic poses.

The VI on S.P.D. Omega Ranger's outfit glowed yellow briefly before the sirens on his helmet alarmed. He then spun his right arm around, forming mirages, before he pointed his left hand while doing a dramatic pose.

"S.P.D. Omega Ranger!" Sam announced.

THE MORPHING SEQUENCE END

Thunder Starfish laughed maniacally, "Four Power Rangers… before my very eyes! Oh yeah, I'm definitely going to receive more troops from Lord Drakkon after this! This is the best Christmas gift ever!"

"More like it'll be your last day on Earth, Starfish!" S.P.D. Omega Ranger declared before turning his attention to the Legacy Rangers. "Alright, kids. I'll take on Thunder Starfish while you take on those Putties."

The three of them stared at the monstrous rock-like Putties, which disgusted and horrified them at the same time. They were honestly a little more intimidating than villains they've seen during the U.S.J. Incident.

"Yes, sir!" The three of them answered before unsheathing their weapons.

"Alright, Rangers!" S.P.D. Omega Rangers exclaimed while doing the fighting pose, along with the other three Rangers. "Let's defend this city!"

"HA!" All of them yelled, as they rushed towards the villains.

CHAPTER 1 ENDED

Author's Notes:

Hey, my fellow readers! After 14 months (April 16, 2022), the first chapter of the second has been published! I apologize for taking so long to upload the sequel. I literally had a writer's block on this story, so I focused on working on my other fanfic stories until I had some idea on where to head this story.

I just wanna say as well that my continuity is different from BOOM! Studios. While I add some of the exclusive characters from their comics, my story is mostly original. That is why Jason receiving the Omega Morphers is different compared to his comic counterpart. I feel like this change was already self-explanatory with Project Grid.

Now, you may not know this, but I actually changed the title of this story. It was originally "Project Grid", referencing the chosen people in becoming Power Rangers. But I decided to change it to "Shattered Grid", referencing a comic crossover event from 2018. The reason why is because… well… some of you probably know if you read carefully.

Anyway, I'm so glad to be working on this series again. Stay tuned for the next chapter. Babush!
