NOTE: I posted this fanfiction last week in Archive of Our Own under the username Redd_ddd. However, I decided to give the story a bit more exposure and thus am uploading it here too, albeit a bit later than over in AO3, but here you go!

Today is Saturday. It's currently morning in this Saturday right now.

Kirby wakes up, like per usual. This is just a normal day for Kirby, with nothing really important of note for him to do. He decides to go out for a morning stroll like he often does.

When he reaches a nearby pond, he then decides to sit down for a moment. He looks at his reflection from the pond's water. He reflects on everything he's been through during all these years and decades. This eventually makes him think about all the people he's been able to form friendships with. The pink spherical hero sure has made tons of amazing friends, hasn't he?

At this current time, Kirby considers his best friends to be Bandana Dee and Elfilin. Elfilin has become a very close friend to Kirby ever since the New World incident has been dealt with. As a thank you to his efforts for saving the New World, the Beast Pack has given Kirby his own personal portal that he can use to visit the New World any time he wants, and he commonly uses it to go to Waddle Dee Town to visit Elfilin and all of the waddle dees that live there. Aside from Bandana Dee and Elfilin, other close friendships that now show up in Kirby's mind while still sitting near the pond include the long-standing friendship he's been having with King Dedede, as well as the one with Meta Knight. Rick, Kine and Coo are next pop up in his mind, as he sees them semi-regularly, as well as Gooey. Who then shows up in his thoughts next are ChuChu, Nago and Pitch that he sees every once in a while. Then Adeleine comes in mind next, who Kirby rarely sees but is always appreciative whenever he sees her. Then Ribbon, who unfortunately only manages to come see Kirby during his birthday parties since she still lives in Ripple Star. Daroach managed to sneak his way into Kirby's thoughts too, whom Kirby doesn't see very much as Daroach apparently lives in Sand Canyon right now, but both have been on cool terms for a long time now.

However, the person that is next to come up in Kirby's mind happens to be Magolor, as well as three other people shortly after him; Marx, Taranza, and Susie.

How did these four people in particular manage to pop in his thoughts right now nearly simultaneously? These four people were within the Star Allies group that helped out during the Void Termina incident. Kirby happened to picnic with these four people specifically together, and he genuinely enjoyed spending time with all four of them. These four people have given Kirby trouble in various ways in the past, but in the end, Kirby has made up with them and they've all been very friendly with him ever since. He hasn't outright admitted this to anyone, but he actually considered those four to be more fun to hang out with than most other friends because they genuinely entertained him. He also really enjoyed their help and fighting capabilities when they helped fight the Mage Sisters. Magolor, Taranza and Susie were the ones in the end to have helped Kirby defeat Hyness and then Void Termina, as Marx didn't specifically participate in those fights, but nevertheless Kirby still really enjoyed Marx's presence during the whole incident.

How often does Kirby see Magolor, Marx, Taranza and Susie nowadays?

Well, he does actually see Magolor quite frequently, since Dream Land is where Magolor operates his current amusement park called Merry Magoland in, and Magolor's house is in Dream Land. The official Lor Starcutter is sitting behind Merry Magoland, and Magolor essentially just uses it as a display since he has no intention to ever go back to Halcandra or anywhere else. Kirby sometimes decides to participate in the activities in Merry Magoland, and there are even times he'd simply go there just to visit Magolor, who is always happy to see the pink hero. The egg-shaped wizard has grown to have a stronger and stronger friendship with Kirby over time. That betrayal incident has been well behind them for some time. Magolor has been genuinely sorry for having done that and hasn't done anything to that level of bad ever since. That being said, he is still quite mischievous, but it's not to a dangerous level and instead he just loves to mess around with people, even including Kirby, who doesn't mind it. He makes Kirby laugh a lot. What an amazing friend he is!

However, the other three don't see Kirby anywhere near as often as Magolor, unfortunately.

Taranza still lives in Floralia. He really does like the rest of Planet Popstar, but he's always considered Floralia his home and he'll never set his mind on making his home be anywhere. Taranza still hasn't completely 100% gotten over Sectonia's passing, but he's been largely improving on trying to alleviate the depression he's had. He is now great friends with the People of the Sky, as well as the rest of the Floralia residents. At one point, Floralia has crowned Taranza to be the protector of their land, as he deeply cares about them all and will literally risk his life to protect them if that's what it took to reserve Floralia. As far as the spider's friendship with Kirby is concerned, he'll visit Dream Land every few months, and thus that's about how often Kirby sees him. Kirby is always glad to see him, and is still sorry that he had to kill Sectonia during that incident and would do things to help cheer him whenever he can. Taranza has also tried to keep a close friendship with King Dedede to make up for kidnapping and using him as a puppet.

Both Marx and Susie, unfortunately, seldom see Kirby despite their wonderful friendships with him. Similarly to Ribbon, both of them only see Kirby when they come to Dream Land for his birthday parties, which they've promised to visit him on his birthday every year and so far they've kept that promise. Kirby's latest birthday was seven months ago, so that was the most recently he's seen either of those two.

During his latest birthday party, Susie told Kirby that she moved to living in Shiver Star for a couple of years to investigate the infrastructure still intact on that planet, and potentially see if she can take resources from there. That didn't really matter to any lifeform, since nobody was living on Shiver Star anymore by the time Susie arrived there. Considering that she still deeply cares about her father, misses him dearly, and has actually been internally depressed about the failed proper relationship she had with him without ever admitting it to anyone, she's still been wanting to try to bring back the Haltmann Works Company simply just to keep her father's legacy. She's managed to get a spaceship built with the Haltmann logo on it to use as her home and to fly around to places. However, she's come to the realization that it has become extremely hard, if not borderline impossible to really truly bring back the HWC, since Star Dream is what allowed the company to do so much, and with that gone, she and the remaining robot army haven't been able to really get anywhere with trying to bring back the company. So it appears that Susie has attempted to relax herself by living in Shiver Star for the time being, and seeing what's left of that planet. Despite rarely seeing each other nowadays, Kirby and Susie have managed to still keep a solid friendship going on that they try to never let go, as she still visits him on his birthday which he's always happy to see her. Susie even still keeps the "Pinky" nickname she's had for Kirby as a guilty pleasure. She'll also sometimes call him by his real name too, but she's grown attached to her "Pinky" nickname for him, and still lovingly uses it.

Marx is very nomadic and constantly goes around a portion of the solar system that Planet Popstar is in. He's somebody that always wants to have fun all the time. He's been in the mentality where he thinks that staying in one place for too long ends up getting boring, which is the reason he migrates around so much. The cosmic jester wants to keep making more and more vast experiences for himself. So many various opportunities to cause mischief, pranks and fun! Marx doesn't actually have any ill will to his rascally stunts, but there's instances where he ends up ticking people off without meaning to do so. He does have a breaking point as to how far he'll go in terms of distance from Planet Popstar, and that's Ripple Star. He won't go any further than that, and that's because Planet Popstar is where most of his friends live, so he doesn't want to go so insanely far from that. Magolor is the person that Marx considers as his single best friend, and thus that'd be the first person he'd come see whenever he decides to come into Planet Popstar. There's times where Magolor would even temporarily vacation from Popstar just to go around the galaxy with Marx to cause mischief together, because why wouldn't they do that if they had the chance? Both of them adore those moments! Marx has still been keeping his friendship with Kirby going on as he'll still show up at the parties for when it's Kirby's birthday, but that's pretty much the extent to how often Kirby and Marx see each other. Kirby can't deny that Marx is one of the funniest friends he's ever had.

After these four people have entered Kirby's thoughts, he then decided he wanted to come visit them. Not for a group meeting, but just simply one by one, just to see how they're doing nowadays. He always has a fun time seeing Magolor, he's aware that Susie and Taranza could both still be having difficult emotions due to losing people really close to them, and he'd be willing to get a taste of whatever funny business Marx could be up to now. Not only did Kirby think about wanting to visit them, but he also thought that he'd offer them hugs as well! Why not? He figured it could make their day better and they'd be very likely to appreciate it.

He'll come to Magolor first, since he's obviously the one that's closest in location and by far the quickest and easiest to get to.

PART 1: VISITING MAGOLOR

Merry Magoland is only open during the weekdays, and is closed on the weekends because Magolor can't just have his life only be all about looking over the park. He needs to be able to have the chance to do other stuff too. He's told Kirby about this. Knowing this, and that today is a Saturday, Kirby uses this opportunity to go to Magolor's house, which is located in Fruity Forest not far from King Dedede's castle.

Using a warp star to quickly reach to his house, Kirby then knocks on the door. "Hiii! Magolor, it's me Kirby!" he said.

No response after thirty seconds. Huh. Is Magolor still asleep? Kirby thought that to himself. He had to be, because why else hasn't he responded yet? Maybe he's actually somewhere else right now? Kirby was hoping that wouldn't be the case, as he wouldn't know where Magolor could've gone off to today and would take a bit of time to look for him.

Ten seconds later after those thoughts, the door opens. So it turns out that the wizard actually was in his house all along! As he fully opened the door, he reveals to be wearing a face mask of King Dedede. It freaks Kirby out because he didn't expect to see him wearing that.

"Grrr! I'm not happy I always have to take the backseat to you, Kirby! Maybe one day I'll become the true hero of Dream Land again!" said Magolor while trying to impersonate Dedede's voice. Magolor is very good at impersonating other people's voices, Kirby has even seen that before.

Kirby had absolutely no idea how to respond to that. He still had a shocked look in face because he didn't expect this to be happening. "Uhhhh..." he eventually muttered out.

"We should challenge in the Gourmet Race once again! I've gotten better at it! I bet I could really beat you this time! Ya pink lump!" seconds after saying that while still impersonating Dedede, Magolor finally takes off the Dedede mask and throws it aside in his house. He then laughs pretty hard. "Man, I sure got you there, didn't I?" he said while still laughing.

After finally registering it in his mind that it was a joke, Kirby laughed too. He admits it was pretty funny. The mischievous egg-shaped being did certainly prank him there.

"Sorry that I was slow to respond. I was just putting that mask on real quick to mess with ya!" said Magolor, as his laughter finally subsided about ten seconds after saying that. "I'm sure Dedede wouldn't actually say that stuff, but hey, you know me and all my sneaky tricks and jokes and pranks!" he said.

Yep. That was Magolor and his silly business still going strong alright. Kirby has fully gotten used to that at this point, but he's also gotten to enjoy it too. "I liked that!" said Kirby in a chuckling tone. "You really know how to surprise people!"

"Well, I'm a bit of a natural when it comes to that." Magolor said proudly. "Anyways, great to see you this early! Hopefully you've had a fantastic morning so far. I wonder what you're up to now, if you don't mind me asking?"

"I just wanted to come by and say hi!" said Kirby, with the cheerful face that he usually has.

"Well I definitely appreciate you coming by. Always a pleasure to see you, buddy." said Magolor, gently clapping his hands. "If you haven't eaten yet today, I could give you a few gem apples for free if you'd like. No pressure though!" he then spawns three gem apples through a spell.

Kirby hasn't eaten gem apples in a while. He figured he'll take them, because why not. "Yes! I'll eat them!" he said.

"Then you better come on in here and get them!" said Magolor, in a more serious tone than what Kirby expected him to make. "Hahahahaha, I kid, you don't have to come in if you don't want to. But you can. I'll give you the invitation to come inside if you'd actually like to." he says in a more casual tone.

"I'll come in! I don't see why not. It's not like I really have anything else to worry about doing anyways." said Kirby, as the wizard allows him inside his house and hands over the gem apples to Kirby to eat.

"Feel free to have a look around! Heh heh, I know I'm pretty decorative around here." says the Halcandran wizard, as he gestures towards around the house, showing everything off. There was a LOT of stuff to see here.

As Kirby finishes eating up the three gem apples, he then starts looking around. What he notices first on the right-hand wall is an entire gallery of masks on the wall that Magolor keeps around in his home that are also present in Merry Magoland. So that's where he suddenly pulled that Dedede mask from, Kirby thought to himself. There weren't any new unrecognizable masks that he didn't already see over at Merry Magoland, but it still quite a big gallery to witness nonetheless.

Magolor laughs when he sees Kirby looking at the masks. "The masks are just so fun, you know? I've just thought there would be endless possibilities in the jokes and pranks that people could pull on each other with all of these masks. I've given several to Marx to give him more possibilities in all of his mischief, including those ones of his Soul form. There was also this moment where the other day, I've given Nago a mask of Rick's girlfriend had him use that mask to mess around with Rick. And yeah, it shouldn't be a surprise to you now that I do sometimes wear the masks myself and will impersonate their voices, heh heh."

Having worn many of the masks himself, Kirby makes a bit of a confession. "I was wearing a Meta Knight mask, pretending to be him. I ran around a lot with it. But when he saw it, he wasn't amused until he decided to wear a mask with my face on it. I'll also say that you influenced me to be funny with the masks."

That got a good laugh out of the wizard, as he was delighted to hear what Kirby had to say. "See? The masks definitely leave a wondrous impact on Dream Land! I'm glad that people are making amazing use out of them. You'd be surprised at how many more instances you can find them to be useful in. I know I'm a really comedic guy, and thought it'd be nice if I gave people the chance to grow their own comedic side too."

Kirby then proceeded to look around at what else Magolor had on display in his house. There were several balloons hanging on the walls. As Kirby turned around to the wall that was from the other side of the wall that had the mask gallery, he saw that there was a desk with a few books on it and a decent-sized figurine of Landia. There was a sculpture of a gem apple tree sitting in the corner of the house between the desk and his bed. A television sitting on a short but wide table was on the corner between the bed and the mask gallery. Kirby looked up and noticed a hugely scaled-down sculpture of the Lor Starcutter hanging on the ceiling. What a really fancy house! Kirby was overall wowed at everything he was seeing. Magolor sure has a lot of stuff going on around here. Kirby's house wasn't nearly as decorative in comparison to Magolor's house. He had a TV on his own and had photos, but he didn't have literal sculptures hanging around like this for crying out loud. He was wondering how those sculptures were made, but then suddenly remembered that some waddle dees helped in making them.

"I'm pretty proud of how the inside of my house looks. I've always thought being fancy and having all of these cosmetics on display was a fun thing to do!" said Magolor. "Anyways, Kirby, I wonder if you're thinking of any real plans for today, if you're okay with me asking. Whether that could have something to do with my masks, or just anything in general really!"

This was now Kirby's chance to ask for a hug, which he waited to do after taking a look at all of the decorations. "I was actually wanting a hug as well when I came over here! I thought of doing that just to make your day better." he said gleefully.

"Wait.. a hug? For real?" asked Magolor. "Wow. I-I'm shocked at how kind you sometimes are. You know what, Kirby, I'd gladly accept a hug! You've definitely earned it anyways, since you're such a gift to us all. Thanks for asking for a hug, because here I come!" he opens his nonexistent arms wide with his hands in a hug-ready position.

Kirby went for it and gave Magolor a heartwarming hug. Magolor's floaty hands were wrapped around Kirby. It was so sweet. A friendly hug from Kirby was definitely going to make Magolor's day, and it did. Kirby and Magolor actually did hug before, but it was a while ago and it was only once. Magolor was very glad to get another hug from Kirby right now! Their friendship has only gotten stronger over time, despite the past troubles they've had. Those problems were simply a thing of the past and didn't matter at all for the modern day. Kirby was happy to have a friend like Magolor around.

After the hug was over, Magolor began to chuckle. He was amused and endeared by the fact that Kirby came to him to ask for a hug. "You really are something else, bud! Thanks for everything. How kind of you to visit me just to have a hug. It does make me curious, do you intend to do this with anyone else?" he said.

"Yes, I do actually!" replied Kirby.

"Hmm, who else do you plan to do this with, if you wouldn't mind saying?" asked Magolor.

"I planned to do this same thing for Taranza. Not just him, but also Susie. Marx too!"

"Oooooh... Nice! As I'm still friends with all three of those people, I have them as contacts in here!" Magolor said as he pointed to his phone sitting on the bed. "I should point out that Marx likes to constantly move around the galaxy, and thus it can be hard to find him. But no need to worry! I could just call him and ask him to stay somewhere for you to find him."

"Wait, really?" asked Kirby. "That'd be great if you could do that!"

"Yeah. I'm thinking I'll ask him to go to that Floria planet in the Milky Way Wishes area." said Magolor. "Does that sound like a good place for you to see him?"

"That'll do!"

"Good deal. Want me to call the other two to have them know you're coming?"

Kirby took a few seconds to think on that one. "Actually.. I would say no on that. I want to keep it a surprise! For Marx, just tell him to go there but don't say why so it doesn't get spoiled." he said. He knows that it'd still be helpful for Magolor to call Marx, just so Kirby will know where to find him. However, he knows where Taranza lives, as well as where Susie lives, and thus he can get to them on his own easily.

"Ooooooh..." said Magolor. "I like that way of thinking! Wanting to be full of surprises, just like me. Alright, I won't call the other two. I do think that keeping it a surprise would give a more impactful effect to it!"

"Thank you!" said Kirby. "I remember the picnic I had with you four!"

"Ahahaha, yes. I remember that too." said Magolor. "Fun times, wasn't it. I'll bet that inspired your plan for today."

"Yes it did!" said Kirby. "I'm not proposing a meetup again, I'll just find them all one by one."

"Good deal!"

"I'm excited to do it!"

Magolor moved over to the mask gallery. "Before you go, I'd recommend giving this mask to Taranza." he pulls out a mask of what appears to be.. Taranza? With pink markings around the eyes? Kirby did notice two different masks for Taranza, but he wasn't sure why Magolor made both of them.

"This is apparently what Queen Sectonia looked like before becoming a gigantic tyrannical wasp, from what I've gathered. I call it the "Old Friend" mask."

Kirby was confused. "H-h-how did you know that's what she looked like before?"

"Taranza told me that's what she previously looked like." replied Magolor. "And by the way, I was just kidding." He laughed. "You don't have to give this to him. I've already did that, and I'll admit, it.. made him a bit emotional to say the least. In fact, don't even tell him I said any of that in the first place, heh heh!" he put the mask away back to where it was as he continued laughing.

"Also, I'm sure you noticed this secondary mask I made of Susie that you aren't as familiar with compared to the other one." As his laughter subsided, he pulled out the mask that was Susie wearing a beret, had small glasses and her hair styled differently.

"She requested me to make this one. In fact, I met up with her to see what it was, and it's apparently what she wears on the weekends as she calls it her weekend outfit."

"I remember seeing ChuChu wear that mask!" said Kirby. "But when I asked her what it was, she said she didn't know, just that it was a second outfit of Susie, not knowing that it was for weekends."

"Well, you know now!" said Magolor firmly and gladly.

"Thank you Magolor! Anyways, I think I'm gonna get going now."

"Rock on. Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate it, buddy. I hope your plan for today goes well. I'm more than sure they'll be glad to accept hugs from you. Have an amazing rest of your day, Kirby! Stay phenomenal!" Magolor clapped gently while saying that. Kirby and Magolor both waved at each other goodbye as Kirby left Magolor's house. Kirby had a great time visiting Magolor. That went really well! This short hugging spree that Kirby planned had came off to a really good start.

Using the same warp star that he used to get to Magolor, Kirby sets off to find Taranza, Marx and Susie to visit them and give them hugs. He misses them. He wants to see them again, and today he's going to go and do just that.
